SAN FRANCISCO — As the Tibet riots continue, the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco has for the second time since the riots began, found itself a target of violence. A bombing and fire occurred at the consulate early Thursday morning, and several days ago, the building was stoned by protesters, the World Journal reports. San Francisco police officer Steve Mannina told the newspaper that witnesses heard a huge sound and saw smoke coming through the consulate gate early Thursday morning. The Chinese Consulate criticized the “terrorist action,” and said its work has been seriously disturbed by the attacks. Now the consulate is under intense security protection by the police, and visa applicants will experience longer waits for their interviews.
