Shreveport Citizens Disarmed By Police For 2nd Amendment Bumper Stickers

And would you like to guess which rights he has in mind?
Just ask Shreveport resident Robert Baillio, who got pulled over for having two pro-gun bumper stickers on the back of his truck — and had his gun confiscated.
While the officer who pulled him over says Baillio failed to use his turn signal, the only questions he had for Baillio concerned guns: Whether he had a gun, where the gun was, and if he was a member of the NRA. No requests for a driver’s licence, proof of insurance, or vehicle registration — and no discussion of a turn signal.
Accordingly, Baillio told the officer the truth, which led the police officer to search his car without permission and confiscate his gun.
However, not only does Louisiana law allow resident to drive with loaded weapons in their vehicles, but Mr. Baillio possessed a concealed carry license!
What does such behavior demonstrate, other than transparent political profiling — going so far as to use the infamous Department of Homeland Security report on “Americans of a rightwing persuasion” as a how-to guidebook, no less?
Mr. Baillio made no secret of his political affiliations: An American flag centers a wide flourish of pro-freedom stickers and decals on his back windshield.
In fact, when Baillio asked the officer if everyone he pulls over gets the same treatment, the officer said no and pointed to the back of his truck.
Baillio phoned Mayor Glover to complain about this “suspension of rights” only to find that his city’s morbidly obese “commander in chief” was elated at the story: According to Glover, Baillio got “served well, protected well, and even got a consideration that maybe [he] should not have gotten.”
Thankfully, Mr. Baillio recorded a good bit of that phone call. You can watch a video with the transcriptions here. I’ve reproduced a chunk of the call below:
Baillio: (in the context of being asked about the presence of a gun) Well, I answered that question honestly, and he disarmed me.
Glover: Which would be an appropriate and proper action, sir. The fact that you gave the correct answer — it simply means that you did what it is you were supposed to have done, and that is to give that weapon to the police officer so he could appropriately place it in a place where it would not be a threat to you, to him, or to anyone in the general public.

Baillio: So what you’re saying is: I give up all my rights to keep and bear arms if I’m stopped by the police: Is that correct?
Glover: Sir, you have no right, when you have been pulled over by a police officer for a potential criminal offense [which would be what?! - DB] to stand there with your weapon at your side in your hand [Baillio's weapon was nowhere near his side or his hand, and Glover knew that. -- DB] because of your second amendment rights, sir. That does not mean at that point your second amendment right has been taken away; it means at that particular point in time, it has been suspended.

According to Glover, a police officer may properly disarm any civilian at any time, and the civilian’s duty is to surrender his gun — willingly, readily, cheerfully, without cavil or question.
From Glover’s perspective, it is only when firearms are in the hands of people other than the state’s uniformed enforcers/oppressors that they constitute a threat, not only to the public and those in charge of exercising official violence but also to the private gun owner himself.
NAGR spoke with Mr. Baillio, and he told us that he’s in the process of securing the official procedures and codes for firearm handling and private property confiscation for the Shreveport police department.
So far, the city has been half-heartedly cooperating with him.
“I felt sick,” Baillio told NAGR. “My uncles didn’t die for this country so I could surrender my rights like a wimp. I felt terrible. I was just thinking of all that my family has done for freedom in this nation — including dying — and here they are disarming me at a traffic stop.”
What to do?

I’ll leave you with one last consideration. As a licensed firearms instructor in charge of a hundred different students every month, I’m often asked if citizens should voluntarily inform police officers of the presence of a firearm during a routine traffic stop.
While different states have different laws, my answer for Colorado citizens is an emphatic “No”: Colorado law doesn’t require you to volunteer that kind of information, and this case in Louisiana proves why, if at all possible, you should never invite trouble by doing so.

I contacted Mayor Glover’s office at the number in the article. I asked to speak with him, however his secretary stated that he was not in at the moment, and asked if I would like to leave a message.
I said “Yes. Tell him that suspension of a right IS infringement of that right.”
After a pause, she responded sardonically: “Would you like to leave your name and number so he can call you to discuss it?”
I replied “I would like you to take that message, and make sure he gets it. Thank you. Goodbye.”

It is the duty and obligation of every American whose rights have been violated to sue for punitive damages. And also to sue the company which bonded the police officers who violated their rights. If the city gets enough bond judgments against it then it will lose its bonding and no longer be able to lawfully have police officers without un-incorporating and starting over as a new municipality that promises to abide by its own laws. We are all obligated to “create justice” for all those who follow after us.

Uhhh… you need to read Genesis again… Animals were NOT initially created for our dining pleasure. It wasn’t until after the great flood described in Genesis 6, that man was granted PERMISSION to eat of the animals of the land. Adam and Eve were essentially made vegetarians and rightly so. I think the real question is how people define God. Look into quantum consciousness, unified field theory, etc. and look into mysticism, and maybe try some mind expansion, and I think you begin to see that God is intelligent consciousness that pretty much underlies this whole experience. Of course, everybody has seen the Matrix, but I think it was ultimately created through the conscious force of God, which lives within and outside of it and that we can realize that our personal consciousness, material consciousness, or dream consciousness exists within this field. I DON’T PROMOTE MY SPECULATIONS AS ABSOLUTE TRUTH IN ANY WAY.
But if we put s--- in the air and water, we’re still going to breath and eat s---. You reap what you sow. The laws of physics just don’t apply to the consciousness itself, as it is multi-dimensional. I think the evidence for evolution is strong, but I think it’s time to openly accept that there is likely a creating force behind reality and let people decide for themselves, but I definitely don’t think Genesis is literal at all, and was inspired by other ancient philosophies.
That is not saying Christ didn’t exist; I agree the Zeitgeist made some pretty bold claims that have little substantial justification, and it got other stuff flat out wrong, just like this website, which flat out lies a lot. Where did those pictures of the corna hand signal on political figures waving come from? An easy way to manipulate and exploit paranoid Christians.
Beyond that, I don’t know. Believe what you want.

I was vegan for two years veg for 5 – sure I was young – but I’m a chef and a nutritionist – and I was 10 times healthier without meat – mostly because I was disciplined in what I ate – but I never had supplements – there’s actually a slght problem with people getting too much iron these days – mostly vego’s who take tablets – meat sure is good for you – buy you gotta know what your eating – I’m sure god must get a bit pissed off seeing the way you yanks eat – especially this damn glover pig x

I love how Christian Nazi Alex Jones began his show Tuesday promising that he would discuss the death of Michael Jackson. Then he of course proceeded to go in to a long monotonous diatribe about just that. He attacked black people basically claiming that they were all idiots for getting so worked up about another’s death. It’s not as if the precious Christians are obsessed with death right Alex? They didn’t flock in record numbers to theaters with a frighteningly morbid fascination of the film Passion of the Christ did they? OF COURSE THEY DID! Actually, what you’ve said is scientifically inaccurate. Immaculate conception does occur in nature, it has been observed in reptiles I believe. There is also asexual reproduction. This does not prove or disprove the birth of Christ, but you cannot debunk the evil of Christianity without getting your facts straight. So in your ideology about christian theology I offer the following argument (and don’t make me get into a religious discussion here.. it gets very abhorring). Verse 30 of Genesis 1 goes on to say.
“And to all the animals on the earth and to every bird of the air and to everything that creeps on the ground–to everything in which there is the breath of life–I have given every green plant for food. And it was so.”
Here it clearly leaves out “Seed Bearing” herb or fruit. Yet everyday it seems my blueberry and grape stocks are depleted by Seed eating birds. Maybe I missed something? Maybe the birds missed something? Maybe they just need a good Theologian (such as yourself) to lead them down the path of righteousness as they have CLEARLY gone astray.

no verse condemning eating animals either, like you said nothing. i think earlier people appreciated and respected hunting as a right more than we do now. people have hunted since the dawn of our species, harnessing agriculture(which came MUCH later) could be interpereted as: “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.” without it meaning that plants are to be your only food.

Bible sez to stone a woman to death who got raped in town and did not “cry out” for help. Old times, and very hard-ass laws which were overturned in the new testament. Bible says a lot of things. It’s several different books written by different men over time. It is a compendium of religious writting– a library. That’s why bible literalism goes so far off the rails. It leaves you pondering the length of a day in God’s estimation(Genesis) vs what we know as a day. Created the world in 6 days– yea, how long is that? If you feel in your heart fer shurzies that every word is to be taken literally– with no interpretation from your pastor, priest or self–then read Deut10:22 and get a bag of smooth fist sized rocks. Then you are commisioned to hunt down evil women who did not cry out.

I’m getting a strong feeling that the bible has been really warped along the way with the new , conveniants word replacements. We actually faced the same problem in our churchie type group thingy, when the original words of the teacher were changed after his death, to fit the desires, agendas of his suffocating male followers who wished to inherit the kingdom or assetes and followers.
So thats how quickly the words get changed and re=written into scripture.
Think about that one and try making your quotes taken as absoulute word of GOD, because it just is not anymore, but their is remaining a pure essences,

Ok, here’s the scenario. A poor couple comes into the temple to worship and sacrifice a pair of doves (also happened with beef and lambs). The kosher “animal examiner” says they aren’t suitable because they are “blemished”. Sells the poor couple another pair of doves at a highly inflated price, thus making obscene profit. Meanwhile takes the same doves the couple first brought in that he said were “defective”, and sells them to the next poor schmuck at a highly inflated price. THAT was the condemnation. These thieves were making merchandise off of people’s worship.

That was not the condemnation! They should not have been participating in commerce within the temple walls due to its upheld sacredness. Notwithstanding, the mere fact that you purchased the sacrifice renders its intended purpose useless. The idea of a sacrificial offering is that you give your best. Not side step this laborous process of finding the best and just purchasing someone elses best to give to God. Lazy Sunday one-day Christians do this now… ‘couple of dollars in the offering plate should do it”… Really, is that your best?

Ok so if eating animals is a sin then why did they eat lamb at the Passover in Exodus 12? Leviticus clearly outlines the dietary rules for the Jews and Priests and it does include meat…from animals. Jesus fed the 5,000 fish and bread, I don’t recall fish being a plant. Ralph the verse in Genesis was before the fall, God had decreed that man be on a plant diet. That changed after the fall obviously. The verses in John should not be used to say that Jesus was against meat, that’s rediculous. What he was saying is that the people in the temple were selling animals for sacrifices when the people should be bringing their own, basically. If you want to argue about food take it up with Paul in Romans 14 v13-23. Please don’t use Scripture to argue for your silly ideas.

But since we are on the subject I specifically remember an angel of the Lord speaking to Peter in Acts for him to “Rise, kill and eat”. And in another location “To the clean, all things are clean.” I believe the scripture implies that Peter was obedient to kill and eat that which was once unholy for a jew, making the new covenant that which is of a heart of faith and not the letter of the law.

I had the unfortunate experience of going thru Katrina and living in New Orleans and 3 other LA towns; Lafeyette, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport. I will say I have seen a lot of crooks and traitorous pompous asses in L.A., but never to this degree. In fact, I worked security in New Orleans(gretna/westwego aka ghetto), and a co workers car was burgled. When the cops came they asked” Where you from boy?” and I proudly said Texas. “U got a gun?” Of course I do… “Well then you better start carrying it!”
I never went anywhere, unless drinking (per CHL guidlines), without my gun. It saved my life numerous times. This does not surprise me however, because I had my entire gun collection taken during Katrina. After the storm passed and the looting started, NOPD and national guard came door to door in our hotel and took all weapons. I took my 380 apart and stuck it in my shoe. They then left and 10 armed looters went through the hotel raping stealing and killing. I shot one dead and I breath today because I DID NOT give up ALL of my weapons. Call these folks and you will not get anywhere, but like me it will give you someone to hate and bitch at.

I have a CCL, and to even be considered for one a THOROUGH background check by STATE police is conducted. This means that people with CCLs are in no way a danger to anyone. He had a concealed carry permit. Again, when you apply for this – you turn a right into a priveledge. The permit requires you to inform government you are armed when detained. Never, ever get this permit. You don’t need it, the 2nd amendment is all that is requiered ….and bear arms…

ac you are correct about Glover not fearing for his job – I heard several people state that they voted for him and Obama because they ARE black not for what they believed in. I live north of Shreveport – am a avid hunter – have a girls hunt 2 sticker and a NRA sticker on my pickup and yes, I carry an equalizer – I don’t go anywhere without it because the crime rate in Shreveport is so high. There are killings and drivebys and car jackings all the time here. Let them come in my house and I have an arsenal waiting on them. The Chief of Police is also black but he has so far done a good job or is trying to if Glover will allow him to do so. I think Glover has made a tactical error and I hope he pays for it. If I get stopped and they take my gun even if I have a CCL, there will be hell to pay. I have a lawyer on retainer and am not scared to use him! I have called Glover’s office and have voiced my opinion – everyone else needs to, too, before our right is taken away from us…. it is one small step at a time and before we know it, everything will be taken away. Again illusional that the constitution does not apply. The Constitution gives you the right period. Even if a permit is applied as far as contactual it is in fact the constitution overrides that. You have the right to bears arms whether you tell someone or not. Have a permit or not. Permits were created after the fact. Way after the fact in fact. It is in fact a contradiction to your constitutional rights to enter into a contractual agreement like that. The constitution trumps a permit.

Now back to the Militia. Just read Article One Section Eight clause (15) which states that it is the militia’s job to execute the laws of the Union. As you can plainly see all the Constitution did is set up a Military Government to guard the King’s commerce and make us slaves. If one goes to 8 U.S. statutes at large 116-132 you will find “The Treaty of Amity, Commerce and Navigation”. This Treaty was signed on November 19th, 1794 which was twelve years after the War. Article 2 of the Treaty states that the King’s Troops were still occupying the United States. Being the nice King that he was, he decided that the troops would return to England by June 1st, 1796. The troops were still on American soil because, quite frankly the King wanted them here.

I read under the picture caption that the mayer claims to have the power to suspend the constitution. Talk about delusional. No one has the power to suspend the constitution it is always in affect for an american citizen at all times 24/7 every second every millisecond and can never be suspended. Suspension of the constitution for any reason is infringment. This mayor just committed treason to his country. The officer never addressed the issue about a turn signal which now just made it an unlawful stop. He search the vehicle and took the gun which has now become an illegal search and seizure. So the officer just commited theft as well. And the mayor backed up his officer which now makes him an accomplice to this. This is how they do it in law to convict regular people of crimes. I know all too well from experience. Also it does not state whether or not if he was in a deceleration lane or not. If he was he was not required by law to use his turn signal. This is just flat out corruption of a mayor and police department stating we are going to do as we please and nothing you can do about it. And how many other police departments and mayors are going to follow suit with this. This man should sue the heck out of shreeveport. But as they have trampled on his rights so blatantly they may just blatantly step on his rights for a lawsuit justifying themselves in some pathetic way.

Oh I forgot to mention that the cop pointed to the back of the man’s truck when “In fact, when Baillio asked the officer if everyone he pulls over gets the same treatment, the officer said no and pointed to the back of his truck.” When the officer did that he just confessed to profiling a driving. In this case political profiling. So this only strengthens the driver’s case if he wants to press it.

This is not meant in anyway to be racist or hateful towards black people.
I just can’t help noticing how when black people get into positions of authority they seem to only take the tyranny to the next level. Whether they be cops,judges,prosecutors,mayors,and yeah presidents! and still so many blacks seem to celebrate when more blacks get positions in authority!

You make a good point. Every culture has its evil people. I do so hate to see people like Big O sitting in office and saying “we finally made it, and now we’re gonna flaunt it”, as if color was the only characteristic that matters about people. Martin Luther King didn’t use his “color” as an excuse to say he was better than anyone else.
YES, people who enslaved blacks were wrong. But so were those who abused the Cherokee on the Trail of Tears, Nazis who murdered whites for standing up against them, and every other tyrant the world has ever known.

You left out the part of Did he get his gun back at the end of the traffic stop?
if so whats the problem? most departments do run checks for stolen firearms when found on traffic stops ect… and it is also anofficer safety issue, but then firearms are returned imediatley after the stop.

The gun was returned to the man after the traffic stop was complete. The officer secured the gun during the stop and then returned it to the man when it was over. I love Alex but where is the violation?

A. It was gun confiscation no matter how “temporary.” This is at least perjury assuming the “cop” took an oath of office in order to get his job.
B. The alleged cop did not prove he had authority to violate the driver’s 2nd Amendment Rights. The driver sheepishly went along.
C. The driver apparently did not obtained proof that the alleged cop was a bona fide police officer. The cop s/h/b required to prove to a judge that he is a bona fide police officer and obtain a warrant for the search before the search was conducted. The fact that judges will not support this is proof of how corrupt and treasonous the present system is.
D. The driver should have asserted his right to speak with his attorney before agreeing to a search.

where did you get this nonsense from? seriously, you need to properly educate yourself. first nobody needs to prove anything to anyone in this given scenario. second, what in the world is obtaining proof that the alleged cop is a bona fide police officer? do you realize how stupid that sounds? I’d say being in uniform with a badge and marked police car would be sufficient evidence for most reasonable and prudent people. what other proof (shy of showing a police department isssue ID) is there? Also, if someone gives consent to a search (which is what happened in this instance) no warrant is required (by statute or case law). As far as the speaking to his lawyer, sure he can talk to his lawyer all he wants. However, if a cop has you stopped on the side of the road, there is the concept of ” a reasonably amount of time”, so no cop is going to wait for 4 hours on the side of the road for someone’s lawyer to show up. Lastly, if it is a situation where there is a potential for injury ( such as this which was an unknown person with a firearm), supreme court rulings dictate that an officer is allowed to do what a “reasonable officer” (reasonable officer, not civillian) would do in a similar circumstance. The officer didn’t violate any law.

In most states, there is a provisions for an officer to disarm even someone with legal carry credentials, note FOR THE DURATION OF THE STOP this is done for OFFICER SAFETY which is not unreasonable but if the officer fails to return that mans weapon there is a serious problem!!! Not only is it a violation of rights, it is also a breach of trust on the part of the officer and that public official needs to be ousted. This officer and his dept and supperiors need to be sued under US code 17 and 18 one for civil(rights violation) and the othere for CRiminal(taking of property unlawfully under color of law as well as being further rights violations) this is a honey pot both for rights affirmation and MONEY SUE THE CRAP OUT OF THEM!!!!!

The headline sensationalized what actually took place. The police officer didn’t keep the gun. The officer merely removed the possibility of the owner using it while they were interacting. It’s a standard “common sense” proceedure. I understand that the citizen in this article took offense to the officer’s actions. I am also empathetic regarding the statements about his uncles and their sacrifice. However, people need to understand that not everyone the police come into contact with are stable, rational, or law abiding citizens. You also need to understand that when a cop stops you on the street he does not know you. You may be the greatest person in the world, but that doesn’t mean the cop knows that you are. It’s easy to be critical of the police, but I encourage anyone who is critical to step up to the plate and become one. If you have any amount of intelligence at all, you will quickly realize that it’s not the job you think it is. I am totally 100% in support of second ammendment rights, however there is such a thing as common sense. If you were a cop just doing your job would you let someone that you don’t know from a hole in the ground access to a gun while you were on the side of the road someplace waiting for their registration information to come back? If you are intelligent and honest your answer would be ” no, it isn’t safe to allow someone that you don’t know, which safety dictates you assume has the potential for hostility, access to a weapon”. The goal for most police ( you can also include firemen, paramedics, and military people in this) is to be alive at the end of your tour. If I was in a job that could cost me my life and I had to “offend someone’s sensibilities (i.e. hurt their feelings) to make it home alive then I guess I’d be handing out a lot of tissues for people to dry their eyes with.

you’re comparing apples to rocks here. you as a civillian would have no legitimate reason to be making traffic stops or to enforce traffic law or penal law. whereas, a police officer does. it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that if society hires you to stop criminals (like they hire cops to do and not normal everyday civilians) then they will need to widen the parameters that the police can operate in (i.e. the legal concept “police powers”). therefore, your logic doesn’t hold true. your logic is akin to saying ” if the US Army can have land mines so can the local Boy Scout troop”.

despite a lot of speculation as to what will be the “trigger” that will launch us into “revolution”, the fact is undeniable at this point in time that the current criminal / dictatorial regime will need to be physically removed from their current positions. I will not say anything in addition to the obvious solution.

When you have concealed carry license they do a background check on you, take your prints, and pretty much determine your not a “scumbag.” What was the justification on taking his weapon from him? I sent the mayor an E-mail “Really? Is what the subject says true? If so, who gives you the idea that you have the power to suspend the constitution? I know this will probably never be read by the mayor himself, but this was a lot better than calling your phone number at (318) 673-5050 every time I got the chance. Guns aren’t violent. If you violate the 2nd amendment of the Constitution that MILLIONS of Americans died for to protect because your scared of them killing people, then you have to take virtually every object from the slaves in your town, because people will harm each other regardless. In most CCW states, you are required to notify a police officer of the presence of a weapon if you hold a legal concealed carry permit. The officer can hold the weapon at his discretion during the duration of the stop, but must return it at the end. It would be beneficial to get all the facts.The story does not elaborate on the complete details like…did he get his weapon back? The officer had probable cause to ask about a weapon based on the bumper stickers. As is so often the case on these sites, concusions are reached without full details of the story.

Yes I too have some concerns with this story. Did the Robert Baillio get his weapon back after the stop? The article does not say! Did Robert Baillio receive a ticket for the turn signal? Where is the original source for this article? The link provided takes you to a forum! Both the forum and this page does not provide the missing links from the article itself! I’m not passing judgement on whether or not this article is accurate, but that it’s missing crucial information. This is a very poorly written article. What really amazes me is seeing all these commenter’s just running with it without putting any thought into whether they’re even getting the full story here. This article should never have been posted like this in my opinion. This is the kind of crap, especially with so many just blindly accepting it as factual, that fuels the labeling of Americans as extremists. InfoWars you should be ashamed of yourselves for posting such a poorly written article, without providing an sources to verify the claims, missing links, and missing highly crucial information. Well, after further investigation on my own, I found the audio missing from this article which clarifies the situation. Baillio’s weapon was in fact returned to him by the officer after the officer finished conducting his business. Baillio didn’t even receive a ticket, though he could have. I don’t see anywhere in this situation where the officer violated the law, nor Baillio’s rights. As for the suspension of his rights the mayor explained that fairly well, repeatedly. This story does NOT suprise me in the least!
When Hurricanne Katrina hit New Orleans, I responded from Texas to help my step-son in St. Tammany Parish. I was stopped at a “Check-Point” on I-10 and asked if I was carrying any weapons? I told the deputies, that YES, I was ARMED. I was TOLD to SURRENDER my weapons and I REFUSED!
A “stand-off” ensued for 8 hours. I “REFUSED” to allow “MY” weapons to be taken and stated that I “WOULD KILL ANY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER” who tried to take my weapons.
To make a LONG STORY short, I was ALLOWED to proceed, with MY WEAPONS entact.

I hear a lot of “time to go to war” talk on these sites. Yet, except for the lousy economy, nothing has happened. There is much that needs to be watched, but in reality, nothing has happened. No oppressive gun control legislation, no energy tax, no mandatory vaccinations, no government run healthcare, no hate speech, etc.
I don’t deny that these things are worth fighting against, but as yet, we haven’t been attacked. Let’s cool the rhetoric on armed action until it becomes clear that we have a real enemy.

With all due respect, I was a reserve officer for a number of years. When you pull someone over, you generally have no idea who you are dealing with or what they might do. He did not have his freedom of speech denied because the stickers were not removed, but the officer does have the right to ensure his own safety. As a concealed carry permit holder, I don’t have a problem with that. I would have a problem if the stickers were the reason I was stopped and the same events took place. This story leaves out important details to be able to make a judgment on whether an illegal action took place on the part of the officer.

The citizen was stopped solely because of his bumper stickers. The officer asked only questions about guns, not the alleged moving violation.
I suggest that the citizen not carry a gun while displaying the bumper sticker and carry a gun when the bumper sticker is covered. This is not worth dying for.

Even returning the gun to the mark does not make this action legal. The mark was singled out because of his thought-crime bumper stickers which is a violation of the 1st amendment. The mark was supposed to have equal protection under the law.

What is the 2nd Amendement for? Show? These people trample on our rights and what do they get? Great gealth care and lifelong retirement courtesy of the tax payers. There are two things about this case that needs to be noted:
1. This gentleman was being treated differently because of his bumper stickers, the officer in qustion openly stated that at the stop.
2. This guy was pulled over for a minor traffic violation. I have been pulled over and I have never had my ca searched liked this gentlman, I was given my ticket and went on my way. Why in the would it be necessary to ask about guns in a minor traffic stop since this guy did not threaten the officer was very cooperative? The police did not have any probable cause here to search this guy’s vehicle and they surely did not have any cause what soever to tak this gentleman’s weapon.
3. The law there state that you can carry a weapon, the gentlman had a permit as well, the officer clearly had no right to take this man’s property.
4. The cop was wrong to single this guy out because of his pro-gun bumpr stickers, and unfairly stereo-type him as some kind of weirdo terrorist or something. We do have freedom of speech in this country, we have the right not to be singled out and punshed by the government for speaking our minds.
e can surely see Homeland NAzi SS scurity traing at work here with the police, they are making their criminal fedral government masters very happy with them for acing like thugs and harassing the American people!

We commonly refer to it as a Kaishnakov, the inventor, 762 or simply AK, not by the country(s) in which it was used, but was invented/made -Russia. Whenever something like this happens, people should descend upon the area like flies, in numerous small, organized groups, and DARE to be pulled over and treated similarly. For every car plastered with liberty and rights minded bumper stickers and a perfectly legal gun inside, there should be one or two more of their friends following not far behind to get video of the police committing their crimes.
Police love to set people up. We need to start setting them up! Let them yell “entrapment!” for a change. Could be a new sport. Nothing better to do? Go cruising around town setting up the cops to get busted breaking the law and violating people’s rights. Could be a new reality show concept.

When citizens cann’t trust police to do the right thing anymore, what is left? Police are at a disadvantage due to being outnumbered and the element of surprise is on our side. Amen. I’ve lived in LA all my life. The corruption here is EPIC. My father spent five years in the parish jail, during which time he was used by the Sheriff as an enforcer of sorts. People who weren’t paying their protection or their cut of the dope profits got a visit from my dad. He was also made to build the parish a nice, new shooting range for free, using a bulldozer and a welding set-up. This in the dead of winter with no jacket or coat and duct-tape holding his boots together. My father is now serving double life in Angola for crimes he did not commit, because he pissed off the wrong people in Catahoula and Rapides Parishes.

“I just read an article where Mayor Glover feels that he can suspend the rights of the citizen and that his police can do that spontaneously. This is frightening. I had voted for him. Come the next election, I will vote for anyone else. If he would like to discuss this, call me.”

Solar activity and sunspots have been at an all time low and actually the little tiny one that appeared yesterday was kind of like the breaking of a drought. Depending when this happened, what the officer did is illegal. An officer can not search a vehicle for an unrelated offense. For example if you get pulled over for speeding and they ask to search your car (Probable cause) you can refuse because they really have no reason to search your car for such a minor offense. Now on the otherhand if you get pulled over as a suspect of a drive by shooting then they can w/or without your permission search your vehicle. this is just the jist there is plenty of literature to go with this new law.

I don’t understand why there isn’t a lawsuit already filed against the police officer, the police department and the fat ass mayor. Seems cut and dried to me. Sue them in Federal court for civil rights violation. I live in Wisconsin and that is exactly what is happening here. We have several lawsuits against police, police departments and cities for violation of the U.S. Constitution’s 2nd Amendment as well as the state of Wisconsin Constitution which is very, very clear on the right to keep and bear arms. Wisconsin is an open carry state and some police don’t like it so they harass law abiding citizens by arresting them for disorderly conduct. The charge(s) are dropped in court because there is no disorderly conduct arising from open carry which leads to the civil lawsuits. The way to beat them (for now) is by lawfully challenging them in court. If that fails then eventually I believe the People will rise up and throw off this vile, tyrannical government we now have through force.

If requested, the permit holder must immediately surrender or secure the handgun for safekeeping as ordered by the peace officer or emergency service personnel until a determination has been made that there is no concern for safety and that the permit holder will not be detained for law violations or medical treatment. If the permit holder is transported for treatment by emergency service personnel, the handgun is to be turned over to a peace officer as soon as it is feasible to do so. The peace officer will provide the permit holder with a receipt for the handgun which will include make, model, caliber, and serial number.

Anything else, you don’t have to answer, that is what courts are for. If you exit your vehicle, you lock it up. He’s recording with his mic, and video. If he steps over his authority for the traffic stop, you don’t have to surrender your rights. Don’t engage in normal conversation with the officer, keep asking, if he does not tell you right away why he is detaining you. Be the Johnny one note on that fact. Happy motoring people.

The mayors office said that the officer gave back the gun after the stop. They also said that during the stop, his rights were stripped until he was free to go. THIS IS INSANITY AND NEEDS TO BE STOPPED. It was funny too, because the guy on the phone at the mayors office repeatedly made the comment that the officer was an NRA member as if it was ok because he is a gun advocate. Just be ready my fellow true and real Americans. We have almost come full circle. Take the fight to them. Wake up as many of your friends and neighbors as you can. Time is of the essence. I have talked with many officers of the law and about half of them know what is truly going on. The other half are blind, corrupt or too flouride ridden to have a clue. Start making signs and posting them at freeway exits, going into the malls or shopping centers, write on money and tell people, call your senators and congress, anything will help the cause. Like they say, “Freedom is only for those that have the guts to defend it.” (memorize it, think it, live it)

I have a CCL, and to even be considered for one a THOROUGH background check by STATE police is conducted. This means that people with CCLs are in no way a danger to anyone. They have proven that they have NO criminal record, are familiar with gun laws, and are trained to handle a weapon safely. This “the police are trying to protect you from yourself” rhetoric is anti-gun, Democrat BULLs---. If the State Police say I am safe to carry a concealed weapon, who do the city police think they are to contradict that? Or a politician, for that matter. SUE THEIR ASSES!!
BTW, Mr Baillio did the correct thing when pulled over – according to the laws of LA, it is a CCL holder’s duty to VOLUNTARILY reveal he has a CCL and chooses to EXERCISE HIS RIGHT TO CARRY AT THIS TIME. Who does this uppity mayor think he is to deny or suspend this right?

Well some of what happend was legal and some wasn’t. A police officer has the right to search the imediate area for weapons( areas where the person can reach while seated in the car) and secure that weapon untill the seizure (traffic stop) is concluded. He must then return the weapon to the owner unless it is a weapon that is the subject of an investigation or stolen. If he refuses to return the weapon , he has commited the crime of theft, which could be upgraded to armed robbery since he was armed when the crime occured. I know a person who was a baliff for the court, hired by the sheriffs office had a department issued weapon in his glovebox. He was on the wrong side of the law and got caught in a federal sting selling narcotics to u/c agent. He was charged in federal court with beign in possesion of a firearm while possesing narcotics. there has been other officers who commited crimes who had charges increased due to them having weapons. this person has a Federal Civil Rights case and a state case against the officer if he didn’t return the gun. It was never stated in the article if it was returned or not.

I guess there will be trouble when I go to see the inlaws next month. Because I’m not taking down my stickers, and and not giving up my 2nd ammendment rights.
The 2nd ammendment is protection against this stuff. I’ll stand on it vs some sorry public official any day.
