Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty
June 3, 2008
The following statement is written by Congressman Paul about the pending financial disaster. He will introduce this statement as a special order and insert it into the Congressional Record next week. Fortunately, we have the opportunity to debut it first on the Campaign for Liberty blog. It reads as follows:
I have, for the past 35 years, expressed my grave concern for the future of America. The course we have taken over the past century has threatened our liberties, security and prosperity. In spite of these long-held concerns, I have days—growing more frequent all the time—when I’m convinced the time is now upon us that some Big Events are about to occur. These fast-approaching events will not go unnoticed. They will affect all of us. They will not be limited to just some areas of our country. The world economy and political system will share in the chaos about to be unleashed.
Though the world has long suffered from the senselessness of wars that should have been avoided, my greatest fear is that the course on which we find ourselves will bring even greater conflict and economic suffering to the innocent people of the world—unless we quickly change our ways.
America, with her traditions of free markets and property rights, led the way toward great wealth and progress throughout the world as well as at home. Since we have lost our confidence in the principles of liberty, self reliance, hard work and frugality, and instead took on empire building, financed through inflation and debt, all this has changed. This is indeed frightening and an historic event.
The problem we face is not new in history. Authoritarianism has been around a long time. For centuries, inflation and debt have been used by tyrants to hold power, promote aggression, and provide “bread and circuses” for the people. The notion that a country can afford “guns and butter” with no significant penalty existed even before the 1960s when it became a popular slogan. It was then, though, we were told the Vietnam War and a massive expansion of the welfare state were not problems. The seventies proved that assumption wrong.
Today things are different from even ancient times or the 1970s. There is something to the argument that we are now a global economy. The world has more people and is more integrated due to modern technology, communications, and travel. If modern technology had been used to promote the ideas of liberty, free markets, sound money and trade, it would have ushered in a new golden age—a globalism we could accept.
Instead, the wealth and freedom we now enjoy are shrinking and rest upon a fragile philosophic infrastructure. It is not unlike the levies and bridges in our own country that our system of war and welfare has caused us to ignore.
I’m fearful that my concerns have been legitimate and may even be worse than I first thought. They are now at our doorstep. Time is short for making a course correction before this grand experiment in liberty goes into deep hibernation.
There are reasons to believe this coming crisis is different and bigger than the world has ever experienced. Instead of using globalism in a positive fashion, it’s been used to globalize all of the mistakes of the politicians, bureaucrats and central bankers.
Being an unchallenged sole superpower was never accepted by us with a sense of humility and respect. Our arrogance and aggressiveness have been used to promote a world empire backed by the most powerful army of history. This type of globalist intervention creates problems for all citizens of the world and fails to contribute to the well-being of the world’s populations. Just think how our personal liberties have been trashed here at home in the last decade.
The financial crisis, still in its early stages, is apparent to everyone: gasoline prices over $4 a gallon; skyrocketing education and medical-care costs; the collapse of the housing bubble; the bursting of the NASDAQ bubble; stockmarkets plunging; unemployment rising;, massive underemployment; excessive government debt; and unmanageable personal debt. Little doubt exists as to whether we’ll get stagflation. The question that will soon be asked is: When will the stagflation become an inflationary depression?
There are various reasons that the world economy has been globalized and the problems we face are worldwide. We cannot understand what we’re facing without understanding fiat money and the long-developing dollar bubble.
There were several stages. From the inception of the Federal Reserve System in 1913 to 1933, the Central Bank established itself as the official dollar manager. By 1933, Americans could no longer own gold, thus removing restraint on the Federal Reserve to inflate for war and welfare.
By 1945, further restraints were removed by creating the Bretton-Woods Monetary System making the dollar the reserve currency of the world. This system lasted up until 1971. During the period between 1945 and 1971, some restraints on the Fed remained in place. Foreigners, but not Americans, could convert dollars to gold at $35 an ounce. Due to the excessive dollars being created, that system came to an end in 1971.

It’s the post Bretton-Woods system that was responsible for globalizing inflation and markets and for generating a gigantic worldwide dollar bubble. That bubble is now bursting, and we’re seeing what it’s like to suffer the consequences of the many previous economic errors.
Ironically in these past 35 years, we have benefited from this very flawed system. Because the world accepted dollars as if they were gold, we only had to counterfeit more dollars, spend them overseas (indirectly encouraging our jobs to go overseas as well) and enjoy unearned prosperity. Those who took our dollars and gave us goods and services were only too anxious to loan those dollars back to us. This allowed us to export our inflation and delay the consequences we now are starting to see.
But it was never destined to last, and now we have to pay the piper. Our huge foreign debt must be paid or liquidated. Our entitlements are coming due just as the world has become more reluctant to hold dollars. The consequence of that decision is price inflation in this country—and that’s what we are witnessing today. Already price inflation overseas is even higher than here at home as a consequence of foreign central bank’s willingness to monetize our debt.
Printing dollars over long periods of time may not immediately push prices up–yet in time it always does. Now we’re seeing catch-up for past inflating of the monetary supply. As bad as it is today with $4 a gallon gasoline, this is just the beginning. It’s a gross distraction to hound away at “drill, drill, drill” as a solution to the dollar crisis and high gasoline prices. Its okay to let the market increase supplies and drill, but that issue is a gross distraction from the sins of deficits and Federal Reserve monetary shenanigans.
This bubble is different and bigger for another reason. The central banks of the world secretly collude to centrally plan the world economy. I’m convinced that agreements among central banks to “monetize” U.S. debt these past 15 years have existed, although secretly and out of the reach of any oversight of anyone—especially the U.S. Congress that doesn’t care, or just flat doesn’t understand. As this “gift” to us comes to an end, our problems worsen. The central banks and the various governments are very powerful, but eventually the markets overwhelm when the people who get stuck holding the bag (of bad dollars) catch on and spend the dollars into the economy with emotional zeal, thus igniting inflationary fever.
This time—since there are so many dollars and so many countries involved—the Fed has been able to “paper” over every approaching crisis for the past 15 years, especially with Alan Greenspan as Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, which has allowed the bubble to become history’s greatest.
The mistakes made with excessive credit at artificially low rates are huge, and the market is demanding a correction. This involves excessive debt, misdirected investments, over-investments, and all the other problems caused by the government when spending the money they should never have had. Foreign militarism, welfare handouts and $80 trillion entitlement promises are all coming to an end. We don’t have the money or the wealth-creating capacity to catch up and care for all the needs that now exist because we rejected the market economy, sound money, self reliance and the principles of liberty.
Since the correction of all this misallocation of resources is necessary and must come, one can look for some good that may come as this “Big Even” unfolds.
There are two choices that people can make. The one choice that is unavailable to us is to limp along with the status quo and prop up the system with more debt, inflation and lies. That won’t happen.
One of the two choices, and the one chosen so often by government in the past is that of rejecting the principles of liberty and resorting to even bigger and more authoritarian government. Some argue that giving dictatorial powers to the President, just as we have allowed him to run the American empire, is what we should do. That’s the great danger, and in this post-911 atmosphere, too many Americans are seeking safety over freedom. We have already lost too many of our personal liberties already. Real fear of economic collapse could prompt central planners to act to such a degree that the New Deal of the 30’s might look like Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence.
The more the government is allowed to do in taking over and running the economy, the deeper the depression gets and the longer it lasts. That was the story of the 30ss and the early 40s, and the same mistakes are likely to be made again if we do not wake up.
But the good news is that it need not be so bad if we do the right thing. I saw “Something Big” happening in the past 18 months on the campaign trail. I was encouraged that we are capable of waking up and doing the right thing. I have literally met thousands of high school and college kids who are quite willing to accept the challenge and responsibility of a free society and reject the cradle-to-grave welfare that is promised them by so many do-good politicians.
If more hear the message of liberty, more will join in this effort. The failure of our foreign policy, welfare system, and monetary policies and virtually all government solutions are so readily apparent, it doesn’t take that much convincing. But the positive message of how freedom works and why it’s possible is what is urgently needed.
One of the best parts of accepting self reliance in a free society is that true personal satisfaction with one’s own life can be achieved. This doesn’t happen when the government assumes the role of guardian, parent or provider, because it eliminates a sense of pride. But the real problem is the government can’t provide the safety and economic security that it claims. The so-called good that government claims it can deliver is always achieved at the expense of someone else’s freedom. It’s a failed system and the young people know it.
Restoring a free society doesn’t eliminate the need to get our house in order and to pay for the extravagant spending. But the pain would not be long-lasting if we did the right things, and best of all the empire would have to end for financial reasons. Our wars would stop, the attack on civil liberties would cease, and prosperity would return. The choices are clear: it shouldn’t be difficult, but the big event now unfolding gives us a great opportunity to reverse the tide and resume the truly great American Revolution started in 1776. Opportunity knocks in spite of the urgency and the dangers we face.
Let’s make “Something Big is Happening” be the discovery that freedom works and is popular and the big economic and political event we’re witnessing is a blessing in disguise.

If this is true and things are as they appear to be, we may be on the edge of one of those pivotal moments in time. I have often wondered what those figures from our past thought and felt during comparable eras and in similar situations. Just remember kids, after all is said and done purges usually go awry and bloodlust can be contagious.

There is no doubt that the world is ready to change ? There is a thick deep sense of depression & fear that is gripping all of Ireland, jobs are going, house prices have crashed, the car industry is in turmoil and generally people dont feel good.
Society is in a mess now !! “In so called good times” think what it will be like when the first signs of anarchy break out!! No food in the supermarkets !! Chaos !!!

Something big was going on then we (ron paul supporters) were marginalized. Frankly I’m sick of looking at ron pauls face I have seen him speak twice and he does speak to the truth but solutions to the problems he speaks of are always a big and lofty goal that seem ridiculous and hard to reach without setting small steps. I’m embarrassed to state this, having a ron paul bumper sticker still on my car and all but I do think we were set up to be marginalized.

They react, they don’t anticipate. I take that back. Even animals are smart enough to anticipate danger. The sheep of America deserve to be slaughtered b/c they didn’t listen to the truth.

As for Scatass… we marginalized ourselves. Why does everybody think Ron Paul should have saved us? It’s up to US to save ourselves. So many people criticize leaders for not doing enough, when the critics themselves have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BESIDES BITCH AND MOAN TO THE PEOPLE WHO ALREADY KNOW ABOUT WHAT’S REALLY GOING ON.
Take a stand! If you are mentally capable, run for office, be it local, regional or national, JUST TAKE ACTION! You can even start your own steering committe for various issues.

I understand your frustration scattass, Ron Paul could’ve had a louder voice and been more defensive of his self when he was doing all those debates on T.V. and like when Jay Leno told him – “you have the right to be pissed” to paraphrase Leno, and Ron just sorta looked and nodded, there are times when aggression is needed, Ron Paul is a good man and very brilliant but if the same aggression that Alex Jones has was within Ron Paul- “the in your face BullDog mentality ” oh hell- watch out, you have to get mouthy sometime.

I think it’s time that Ron Paul was seen for what he is behind his oh gee golly facade.
He’s an anti-Semite. He never misses a pot shot at Israel. Never needs to be cued to interject the name Israel no matter what the problem he may be discussing is.
He know damn well that Israel and the United States are both artificial Masonic constructions. He knows damn well that Israel and the Palestinians both were set up for war by the Rothschild gang.
He knows that the framers of the Constitution were Masons and that the American Revolutionary War and French Revolution was a war waged by the Masons in England, France and the colonies to attain parity with the Monarchies.
He knows that Ben Franklin was not only a Mason, he was a member of the Hellfire Club and he knows about the 10 bodies, 7 of which were those of children, found under Franklin’s London home.
He knows damn well that he doesn’t represent the Republican Party. He just turncoated on the Libertarians.

How did we marginalize ourselves when Ron Paul’s Campaign said fuck it lets CAMPAIGN FOR MONEY i mean LIBERTY meanwhile there are still people going to the real convention to have a voice and be heard. Ron Pauls convention(for what party? and what point?) will get a considerable amount of attention but it will be negative and like before, be cast in a cooky light on mainstream media.

I support and admire Ron Paul but I can’t agree with everything he says. He’s a lot closer to Washington than most people will ever be but I’m not sure he completely understands the problems a vast majority of Americans must deal with.
I’ve never understood why America has to meddle in the affairs of the entire world while it neglects its citizens, infrastructure, and the quality of life for those native born within its borders. If the USA was spending the trillions of dollars all over the world to protect it from imagery enemies at home the minimum wage in this country could be $50 an hour and the welfare problem would not exist.
I’ve never believed this money is spent as they claim anyway it’s stolen and used to line the pockets of billionaires. There is plenty of evidence to support this but no one would believe it even if you proved it to them. Just as they won’t believe anything but the official report of what happened on 911. So it becomes irrelevant what the evidence reveals and all that is important is the propaganda that is shoveled out in endless putrid stream of filth.
Congressman Paul, the war is the economy that is the way its designed now and the only real jobs are in government, the war machine, the militery and all the areas necessary to keep them running like banking, journalism, and communications. There are no jobs left anymore for the average person that pay anything or provide benefits of any kind.
Authoritarianism is now unprecedented. The dark side of democracy has reared its evil head and it will never change now. I truly believe the neo-cons are amazed at how easy it was to steal and destroy the freedoms of middle class America and they’re not going to stop now. They’ve covered more ground in the last eight years than they did in the previous one hundred.
The average person lost his personal liberty the day the Supreme Court gave the election to the Bush cartel. They and their ilk were the only group capable of accomplishing what has happened in the last eighth years. When the American people refused to speak out over what happened in that election they threw away their freedom and are now little more than indentured slaves. And this is only the beginning of the total annihilation of freedom and basic human rights for the average citizen.
The citizens of the United States allowed this to happen and their children will reap the effects of their cowardice and indifference. It’s already happening in more ways than I can write here but most young people I’ve observed don’t have a clue of how their being seduced and misguided by the system and most of them don’t care.
I don’t agree that social services or welfare as you refer to it is the problem in this country. Citizens of the USA should be given assistance to get on their feet or if they become disabled. Now the money that should be spent in this country for the benefit of its people is stolen and pissed away in foreign lands on wars both real and imaginary.
When I think of welfare I think of white mans welfare and the millions of unnecessary jobs in federal, state and local government. You could get rid of 90% of these positions and they’d still be over staffed. The NIH and the dept of education are good examples of where to start the cut. They get paid enormous salaries and benefits whether they show up for work or not. The welfare fraud in this country is not just a crime of the poor but the middle and upper class as well. Go too any body of water or resort area and you will find government workers enjoying their boats and other pleasures. Some poor bastard had to pay a lot of taxes for those things and he or she will be lucky if they don’t lose their home as taxes continue to rise and prices for the basic necessities of life continue to escalate.
At last they have us right where they want us. There are no real candidates to vote for except you and I don’t even know if you’re running. And I have to ask you does it really make a difference even if you do? You could get 75% of the popular vote does than mean you would win the election? Not if diebold and out esteemed bureaucratic masters have anything to say about it. It happened once so why can’t it happen again? It’s far too difficult to provide a voter with a receipt to prove who he voted for, but it’s not too difficult to print out a sales slip for a pack of gum so that the tax will be paid.
It makes no difference which icon wins. The first priority will be to wipe out Social Security which is the only program the Federal government ever established that’s worth a damn. I know you’re against it but if the money wasn’t stolen from Social Security it would be funded to the rafters and would make retirement a lot more comfortable for people who are going to be forced to work until they’re seventy.
Try and understand not everyone that goes into retirement is awarded the same benefits, perks and salary as a congressman, senators, school administrator, or environmental conservation officers. What bothers me the most is most beurocrats think that the private sector is a great place to be. They’re always comparing their salary to what they could make in the private sector. The truth is if their job was eliminated they’d be the ones on welfare or in prison.
I agree with most of what you say Congressman Paul and I know you’re sincere about your love for this country. But leave Social Security out of the equation. It’s a small price to pay for a program that does so much good for the needy and disabled. Focus on where the real money is being stolen and wasted – the ridiculous bloated military and government programs that do nothing but create votes and a form of patriotism that is little more than graft and extortion.

Ron Paul is too Conservative to win the support of anybody that’s been shit on by rich pricks for untold generations. His stance on farmers and the lower class are pretty disturbing. Cut all subsidies and welfare and put us back on a precious metal standard which only allows a certain amount of wealth to circulate. Who do you think would retain their wealth? Knock the poor bastards down another peg, slice the remaining farmers throat’s who haven’t sold out to Big Ag Corp’s. Ron Paul’s policies would kick us (poor people) while we’re down. Not to mention his faith based initiatives would only embolden the theocrats to further their brainwashing and fanaticism. He’s supports tax breaks for Corporations and all private business, and thinks that the government should butt out on all accounts. These Corporations have bought out the federal government, what makes you think they won’t be ten times worse with no regulation. As for State sovereignty, they’re just as bad as the Feds. I agree with alot of his policy in theory, and that’s about it. I’m not voting this year. Fuck’em. Too late to hold back the tide of despotism. Him and Baldwin are nothing but special interests inflaming people’s insecurities and perceptions.

Ron Paul has the face, leverage, and people ready to vote; Larouche has the knowledge, youth movement, and ferociousness. I totally agree with 56. Even though I will still vote for him because he’s the only real (non-bilderberger) choice, I was pretty much done with Ron Paul when he did nothing about the voter fraud BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER he collected all that money from donors! Ron Paul had more signs in people’s yards than all of the other politicians put together! He could have stood to gain more than anyone from correcting all the fraud cases reported. Yet he did nothing! He’s either naive or afraid of rocking the boat when it’s all said and done! If he did anything controversial of any benefit, he knows he would be out of congress like Cynthia McKinney! Now there’s a real PATRIOT! At least Kucinich tried to do something about the voter fraud! When they tell you we can’t (pump $3/barrel oil) because OPEC will no longer buy our nat’l debt tell them to !@#$%^* do it anyway and that we won’t call the new dollar an Amero and it will say In God We Trust on it! And if OPEC and China are really kind during and after our short restructuring (and public hangings, after due process, of course) we may let them trade some of those worthless Federal Reserve notes in for something nice. Maybe give them some booklets to paste them in and a green stamp catalog filed with the items confiscated from those Elite perpetrators in it. To all you fools out there criticizing Ron Paul because he will not declare that 9/11 was an inside job, consider thithe following.
His presidential campaign has been a tremendous success, as Alex Jomes has often pointed out. He has created a movement for freedom in America that will not go away.
He has educated millions of Americans who now thirst for freedom and truth.
He could never have achieved this had he pubicly admitted during his campain that 9/11 was an inside job. Many of his present followers would probably have labeled him a kook. These same people are, by now, so aware of just how crooked the government is, that they probably realize that 9/11 was, after all, an inside job.
Does Ron Paul beleive 9/11 was an inside job? Of sourse he does. But this courageous man will keep on denying it to attract more people to the freedom movement.
We are up against a beast with a thousand arms, and each fights it in his own way. Alex attacks it head on, like a bull. Ron Paul does it in his own way. What matters are the results, and Ron Paul has blazed a path towards freedom in America like no one else in modern times.

like minded people who are allready active. If not you can do your own thing like
hand out burned copies of dvds on these topics. Make flyers etc etc.
Also it’s a good idea to stay informed on current events . Infowars is awesome
because it serves as a filter for all the Mainstream lies and propaganda.
And the most important thing of all is to not quit and give up. There are many many times
when you’ll feel all alone in the world and want to say F*ck it , but you are never alone, because there are hundreds of thousands of people like us taking action everyday and eventually we will win and the NWO can tuck their tale in and go lay down like the bitches they are.

God is in the process of judging the world for forgetting Him and the fall of America is on schedule in order to facilitate the one world government…not to fulfill the plans of the New World Orderists…but to fulfill God’s will (Revelation 17:17).

I received my information from many sources with help from people within the commercial industry. I did everything within the framework of the system we function within. The trick is getting your paperwork to Henry Paulson IN ORDER and within the box (no tricks up my sleeves, so to speak). There is a definate process to submitting this to the US Treasury. Winston Shrout has some very good DVD’s out there – with short videos online – and I did receive some very interesting information from them. He covers how this works, why it works and provides forms to give you a general idea of what to do.
The answers are out there. There is so much information regarding this subject, that its too much to include in blogs on this website and within this forum. It’s worth the research because the benefits to you and this country are so tremendously great.

I’ve tried posting information and links regarding homeland security over the past few days 4 times (this is the 5th) and it never appeared.
Has anyone else had this problem? I don’t think Alex would censor it, because he’s talked about the same info I tried to post a few years back on his show.

To Gideon’s Trumpet: The true god hasnt saved us from ourselves in the past and wont save us from anything in the future. Your right about Nazi’s wearing red white and blue but the salvation from these new Nazi’s comes from within people not from some fantasy god thats looking out for us. Religion is just a form of moral welfare – instead of preaching and looking to god to solve our problems – maybe a little personal responsibility and first person action is required to solve our current problems.
There is no god to rescue us from ourselves, but maybe god will give people enough personal strength to save themselves.

It’s funny that when any group of people get together face to face the 2 things that they will not talk about is RELIGION and POLITICS. Meanwhile, all you hear about on the news and everywhere else being spewed into the airwaves by the mass controlled media is RELIGION and POLITICS. Both are irrelevant. Both are skewed and retarded. But at the same time, there absolutely MUST be one truth. There is RIGHT and there is WRONG. We’ve been duped by religion to depend on churches and preachers and we’ve been duped by politics to depend on government and politicians.
A lot of people are seeing that there is an answer that comes from within us but that answer is not a fantasy “god”. It is a fantasy “god” if it is not the RIGHT God and there is only 1 that is RIGHT(EOUS). There rest are lies and WRONG. I myself (all that is within me of my own accord) is nothing. There must be 1 true light to lead us from within not a “whatever you think is true” light that ends up following after “man”.
Many, if not most people know deep in their gut that the Bible is the way. They just don’t understand it because of religion and church. This is why it takes a “leap of faith” to understand and know God. He says that he will show his people the answers and give us understanding before the thing blows up – and it is about to blow up – and deep down, pretty much everybody knows it.
It takes the same kind of “leap of faith” to believe that the universe and the earth and all of creation just showed up by happenstance as it does to belief that God just IS. But that is why he gives us a free will to CHOOSE. He will not make anyone do anything – that’s what is so damnable about religion – it makes rules that you have to keep but all God really wants is for us to obey what HE wants us to do because HE knows and we don’t!
What came first, the chicken or the egg? Did you create you? Can’t we see that man is never going to figure it out on his own. Can’t you plainly see that it is getting worse? Let’s be reasonable…the world has turned into a garbage heap of filth, decadence, disease and death.

If you turn to him for love and at the same time hate the world and everything about like he says to do (”LOVE NOT THE WORLD AND THE THINGS IN THE WORLD”), then we can start to hear from him…but the world and all of its distractions block him off…and he’s been saying “OK – have at it”…until the appointed time, which is almost here
The beauty of it is that He is just about to bring the world to the place where it will be time to choose between RIGHT and WRONG…only few can hear when things are good…just eating, drinking and being “gay”. But when he brings this thing to the wrap up point…some will choose Him and His King and some will choose the beast system and its king. That’s just the way it is and we have to deal with…let’s face it – this place is the pits…even the people that have money and stuff are going crazy…and most people don’t have much money and stuff so why try to attain it?
