Soros’ Media Matters Declares War On Alternative Media

The first inkling we had that the disciples of George Soros and his Media Matters minions were planning a frontal assault on the First Amendment came early last week when the Washington Post published an article describing liberals attending a boot camp to train them to do battle with Fox News. The article describes Media Matters’ obsession with training “camera-ready liberals” to counter what it perceives as the pervasive evil of Roger Ailes, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and the rest over at Rupert Murdoch’s network.
A few days later, Ben Smith, writing for Politico, sketched out what David Brock, a former staff writer for The American Spectator – a monthly funded in part by the media mogul and CIA operative Richard Mellon Scaife – had in mind for Fox and other media operations, in particular alternative media operations.
Brock told Smith what he has in mind – nothing short of an all-out jihad against the opposition. “Brock listed the fronts on which Media Matters — which he said is operating on a $10 million-plus annual budget — is working to chip away at Fox and its parent company, News Corp. They include its bread-and-butter distribution of embarrassing clips and attempts to rebut Fox points, as well as a series of under-the-radar tactics,” writes Smith.
In addition to receiving cash from wealthy liberals close to the current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Democracy Alliance – founded in part by Clinton administration Treasury officials – Media Matters depends on the largess of the globalist George Soros.
Brock and crew are now digging deep to find the dirt he believes will sink Murdoch’s dinosaur media Titanic – or at least take some wind out of its sails. Brock’s bull dogs will also target News Corp shareholders, target commercial interests of the network, and will try to sic government regulators on the corporation. In short, it will pull out all the stops. MoveOn.org and other Democrat organizations are now enlisted in the effort to attack Fox (it should be noted that MoveOn.org is also funded by George Soros and his wife, Susan Weber Soros).

In the end, Brock’s campaign is rather pointless and little more than stale left-vs-right theater. Left to its own devices, Fox and the rest of the corporate media will eventually disappear, or dwindle to a lilliputian size and become more or less politically irrelevant. Media Matters itself admits as much when it cites stats revealing that the Fox News darling Glenn Beck has lost a significant portion of his audience. It is as abysmal, if not worse, for the rest of the corporate news media, according to Nielsen Media Research and others. MSNBC, the pride of progressives, is especially afflicted.
Way back in 2004, the Project for Excellence in Journalism noted that the corporate news media is engaged in a losing battle to retain audience share. According to the report, the “long-term outlook for many traditional news outlets seems problematic.” Since 2004, the situation has grown worse, although Fox and the rest cling to the belief that they represent the paragon and last best hope of journalism.
Brock and his flock will expend an extraordinary amount of energy attacking and slandering Fox while at the same time devoting resources to attack “conservative” websites. Politico’s Smith does not reveal what websites in particular Media Matters will go after, but it is easy enough to figure out – Alex Jones’ flagship websites, Infowars.com and Prison Planet.com, the former at the apex of alternative news websites and the latter within striking distance.
Media Matters has covered Jones extensively – even obsessively – as this list of articles reveals. The titles displayed reveal that Media Matters and its Soros operatives are paying very close attention to Alex Jones, the liberty and 9/11 truth movements. They often claim Glenn Beck apes Jones.
So, the question becomes: will Media Matters, with the considerable resources of Soros and the establishment Democrats, endeavor to take down Jones in the same way it boasts it will take down Fox News? Does it plan to discourage Jones’ advertisers and sniff around for dirt – and short of that, invent some dirty laundry or try to roll a Trojan Horse in his midst?
Media Matters, of course, realizes that Alex Jones and the truth movement outside the orbit of Glenn Beck – who steals much of his material from Jones (as Media Matters admits) – is more of a threat to the establishment it serves than Fox or any number of its coiffured talking heads reading Pentagon scripts on teleprompters.
