South Korea-U.S. Combined Command Forces Raise Attack Warning Level

According to news sources in Asia, the South Korea-U.S. Combined Command Forces raised the watch level against North Korea by one notch on Thursday. South Korean defense spokesman Won Tae-jae told South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency the Combined Forces raised the WATCHCON system from Level 3 to Level 2. WATCHCON is the process of changing the reconnaissance posture for strategic and tactical warning of attack operated by ROK and US military forces.

The Watch Condition hierarchy is characterized by four stages: WATCHCON 4 (normal peacetime position), WATCHCON 3 (important indications of threat), WATCHCON 2 (vital indications of threat), and WATCHCON 1 (wartime situation). The WATCHCON is normally raised by the agreement of ROK and US military intelligence authorities, according to a GlobalSecurity writeup on OPLAN 5027, the United States and Republic of Korea’s operational plan for defense of South Korea in the event of a North Korean invasion.
The last time WATCHCON was elevated was in October 2006 when North Korea conducted its first nuclear test.
China Daily notes that the DEFCON level remains at four. Standard peacetime protocol is DEFCON 5, descending in increasingly severe situations. DEFCON 1 represents expectation of actual imminent attack. During the Cold War, DEFCON 1 was feared because it would precede all-out nuclear war. It is not known if DEFCON 1 has ever been declared. DEFCON 2 was declared during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October 1962, although the declaration was limited to Strategic Air Command.
Earlier today, Infowars posted an article by Jim Rawles theorizing that U.S. forces in South Korea have gone to DEFCON 1. There is currently no evidence DEFCON 1 is in effect.
A number of blogs are linking to an article posted on the Macedonia International News Agency website claiming DEFCON 2 was declared in response to North Korean saber-rattling.

North Korea currently has ballistic missiles capable of hitting Japan and the United States. Earlier this week the Stalinist regime claimed to have successfully tested a nuclear weapon as powerful as the atomic bomb that destroyed Hiroshima.

I just checked on the status of some of these resolutions, none of them have been passed. There are actually 41 resolutions currently introduced to amend the US constitution. Many of these are actually good resolutions that simply re-affirm our rights and restrict the government’s rights (they seem redundant). But some of them drastically change the entire process of government. The scariest one eliminates term limits on the presidency. It would only apply to Obama if it were signed into law before this November.

If you believe that crap then you really are un-educated. If North Korea is used by the New World Order, it will be against the other two opposing collectivist camps that currently act as deterrents to their goals. The U.S. would try to use North Korea to weaken China or Russia (or both), pit China and Russia against each other and then (with help from the European/Israeli Establishment)clean house once they both exhaust their military capabilities. This isn’t about de-stabalizing the U.S., its about destabilizing Asia so it can be easier manipulated and controlled by the Anglo-American establishment! Its a strategic thing, an attack on Iran ultimately disrupts the chinese oil supply, however they haven’t found a way to minimize the backlash it would cause on U.S./Euro oil supplies. Once they do… all bets are off because they really want to send China into Russian oil fields to cause them to fight each other. Iran is just a tool to accomplish this objective, and it will be used if needed.

to kenite hunter, I always knew there was something totally rotten about that movie, and kubrick was wiped out for revealing secrets. wasnt to sure but you just made it alot clearer. I watched this movie the other day, in particular, the ritual scenes, and am sure that kubrick was trying to tell people what the story was with these demon seeds. and he lost his life for it. Wonder what got left on the cutting room floor.

Security Council powers have agreed in principle that North Korea must face expanded sanctions, Western diplomats said on Wednesday. Russia confirmed it supported a new resolution, although it said it was too early to discuss penalties.
Possible steps include a ban on importing and exporting all arms and not just heavy weapons, asset freezes and travel bans for North Korean officials, and placing more firms on a U.N. blacklist.
The measures would expand on sanctions approved by the council after Pyongyang’s 2006 nuclear test, penalties that have been widely ignored and left unenforced.
Washington is deeply concerned about North Korea spreading its nuclear technology abroad and the diplomats said cargo inspections were also possible.

I find it very odd that the mainstream continues to regard North Korea as a crazy or irrational state. The opposite is true. North Korea is acting in a way that is (very pragmatic) given its international standing and domestic conditions. It is simply wishful thinking to assume North Korea will disarm because others countries have done so in the past. Those countries had many reasons to reverse course – North Korea doesn’t.
