Animal owners, consumers and taxpayers: NAIS ALERT! Protect your right to farm and to eat local food. Speak out against the National Animal Identification System!

The USDA has proposed a rule to require all farms and ranches where animals are raised to be registered in a federal database under the National Animal Identification System (NAIS) for existing disease control programs. The draft rule covers programs for cattle, sheep, goats and swine. It also sets the stage for the entire NAIS program to be mandated for everyone, including anyone who owns even one livestock animal (for example, a single chicken or a horse). It’s critical that the USDA and Congress hear from the hundreds of thousands of people who will be adversely affected by the NAIS program. This includes not only animal owners, but also consumers who care about local and sustainable foods, taxpayers who object to wasteful government programs and advocates for a safer food system.

This is good to know because I am trying to get a co. op. set up here for food, jobs, and security. I kind of expected that the FDA would be an issue but this is over the top. All of us should be shouting at the top of our lungs. STOP THIS!! They are messin with our food. We have chickens about a dozen. This is not a farm but a sorce of eggs. Now you tell me that when a hen is getting old and we eat it, what happens then do they come to make sure that we did it proper. Will they make us send it to a butcher? What if you have been doin this kind of thing for years and now you have to buy eggs from someone else “Ingles” at a much more inflated price and you don’t know what that animal has eaten or how it was treated. Farming will be a terroist act before to long. Power to the peaceful!!

Good point! Yesterday I was passing out some fliers, and I usually start out by asking…” do you know we are getting sprayed with chemicals?” Most say no. So this guy yesterday said no, and I proceed to tell him about it, them move onto Fema Camps, he said he did NOT WANT TO KNOW! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! Well needless to say, I’m pretty sure he’s drinking the kool-aid. So then I pass out some great web sites for people to check out, and ask them to pass the word. But only one has refused the info, but I cant say what they do after I leave. I’m glad I woke up, but at times I’d like to go back to la la land, so much easier.

The NAIS is being set up as a mechanism to force animal “health” standards [vaccinations, hormones, antibotics, etc.] on the entire animal food system. It is NOT SUFFICIENT for a producer to have all animals going to market tested [with certified proof]. NO, the government wants to control your food animal health, health standards & veterinary practices. End result, NO MORE ORGANIC OR ANTIBOTIC OR GROWTH HORMONE FREE MEAT. NO MORE BUYING CLEAN MEAT BY THE “SIDE” DIRECT FROM THE FARMER.
There, now don’t you feel safer with the government in control?

Here is another reason for secesssion from a dictatorship government. The NAIS is not in my US Constitutiton. Neither is the FDA, CDC or USDA.

Tx Hill Country here…. we have been raising Barbado sheep for about 4 years.
About 2 yrs ago while taking lambs to market I learned I couldnt sell them unless I registered and tagged every breeding age male and In order to sell that day I agreed to get the tags from the sale barn and they supplied me w/ a phone number to cal USDA and they promptly sent me the tags and aplicator for free. I’m sorry to say but this has been going on now too long to turn it around.I also recieved a farm census the same year that required me (by law) to list the quantity , sex and breed of every animal on the farm as well as anything we grow including private vegetable garden. Its going to come down to bartering for everything. This spring maybe I will just trade veggies and fresh meat for ammo and dry goods. Hide and prepare….stay out of the crosshairs

I hve been giving milk away since 1985,after I take it from the cows.Well I guess you could say I sell it to the processor, for which I pay the cost to haul it off the farm.The farmers in this country always take it in the rear. I cant put a price on my milk.What the farmers need to do is to stop kissing up to politicians, and refuse the subsidy payments they get when the price of milk drops in the toilet.FARMERS ,STOP REPORTING YOUR CROPS AND ACRES PLANTED TO THE USDA!!!TELL THEM TO STICK THEIR SUBSIDY,MILC, MILK INCOME LOSS CHECK UP THE PLACE WHERE USDA GOT IT FROM. I stopped reporting my crops many moons ago and i’m not any worse off.

I am a small farmer/homesteader and have been for 40 years,been reading MEN since it came out.I became a farmers advocate for no pay about 4 years ago when I found out about NAIS since then I have talked to thousands of farmers and animal owners and not found any who want NAIS only braindead politicians and corporate rulers!
I have done numerous radio shows,videos and talks.I have worked with legislators of several states crafting bills to stop NAIS and have seen some progress, we set USDA back several years thus far!
NAIS is a corporate takeover of agriculture with the intent to eliminate small unregulated farms,NIAA or National Institute for Animal Ag in Bowling Green Ky is the main pusher of NAIS along with USDA, the National Association of State Ag Departments and giants like Monsanto and ADM/ Cargill and a host of others, anyone who says NAIS isnt a bad idea is either working for one of these interests/ completly uninformed or worse!NAIS can not and will not keep disease under control,its not designed to, even USDA has said that!
The so called Department of Homeland Security is basicly running ag policy in America today,they call the shots and they are controlled by even larger national and global interests connected to the UN and others,simple fact! They are the terrorists, not small farmers!
There are no exceptions from NAIS,none!EXCEPT for the industrial ag sector which is the filthy impersonator of a real farm and the real source of disease in the food!Also the rules change from day to day as do the proposals,the whole program is unconstitutional and unworkable!The tools and equiptment are indeed required and expensive and violate freedom of choice and much else!
Make no mistake NAIS will be used to shut down all farms who do not capitualate to the rules; rules made by govts and corporations for themselves and no one elses benefit!
I work and will continue to do so to kill this NAIS and remove all support for this marxist scheme from these United States!We have the safest food in the world except where the govt/corp is involved,there is the problem!

Thanks bio-diversity and the fact Australia is it own continent. We have plently of untamed kangaroo and wildlife brought to this country from every other continent, lots of wide open spaces, fishing and good weather most of the time.
If we only had a gold standard. Its would be perfect.
