Starbucks: “Are You In” Obama’s Civilian National Security Force?

Starbucks wants to make it easy to join Obama’s proposed paramilitary brown shirt volunteers. “Starbucks will honor each person who pledges with a free tall brewed coffee beginning Wednesday, Jan. 21 through Sunday, Jan. 25. The goal of the effort is to raise pledges in excess of one million hours of service from all over the country,” a Starbucks press releases states.
Starbucks wants to “make it easy to participate in the President-elect’s call for national service.” Back in September, the Christian Science Monitor reported that Obama plans to “leverage volunteerism in communities across the country” and make government “cool again.”
Fortunately, a lot of people are beginning to realize government is never cool, as the founders warned a couple hundred years ago. In the months ahead, these folks will likely clash with Obamatron zombies, maybe even in the street.
Obama pledged that “service” will be central to his administration. He’d encourage young people to take up careers in public service and the government (thus, making it “cool.”) He’d do it in part by passing a $3.5 billion national-service program that would expand AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps as well as provide tax credits of up to $4,000 year to help underwrite college educations in exchange for public service. He’d also significantly expand the all-volunteer army, beef up veterans’ educational and health benefits, and create a kind of civilian corps that could take over some of the Army’s current civic tasks in war-torn regions around the world.

Obama’s “kind of civilian corps” was fleshed out on July 2, 2008, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, when the soon to be anointed one proposed what basically amounts to a Hitler Youth brigade one million strong to protect us from various ill-defined threats. I’m sure you have seen the video of Obama’s call for duty to the fatherland, but here it is again.
Considering its dismal retail figures, you’d think Starbucks would spend more time concentrating its efforts on increasing sales. But who knows… maybe they plan to press a few volunteers into service down the road serving up cappuccino now that selfless service in the name of some amorphously defined goal will soon be cool again.

This Civilian National Security Force does not make a bit of sense to me. They say it is Civilian but then they say National Security. They say Force and they will be wearing uniforms. during the communism we had similar organizations in our country ex. “ORMO” (stands for Voluntary Police Reserves) about 400.000 people , and many undercover informants “SB” (Security Service) about 90.000 people. It could’ve been for example your neighbour next door, could’ve been virtually anyone who will inform the state about your “unpopular” political views or any other “illegal activity”. I fail to see how this is scary or threatening in the least. Giving more money to organizations such as Peace Corps is a good thing. It gives soon to be college graduates (like me) more incentive to spend two years of our lives over some place. Peace Corps has been on my to do list for about a year, nearest office is an hour away and I haven’t had time to get more information yet, but there is nothing malicious about Peace Corps in any way shape or form. Same deal with AmeriCorps. So other than spending money we don’t have, I fail to see how you can paint this as something terrible for America.

I’m an old man. I remember when as a boy I could ride my bike to the store and pickup a pack of cigarettes for my dad. I remember my mom speaking of walking to the store for her dad when she was just a little girl, with the “beer bucket” to have it filled. I remember taking a rifle to school and storing it in the closet so I could squirrell hunt after class. I can’t remember any of the boys at school not having a pocket knife. We played mumblely peg with them at recess. I remember being able to buy any rifle, shotgun or handgun you could afford by mail. I think “Chipped” missed the point. I agree that those who sign up at Starbucks will “THINK” they are engaging in “genuine community service.” They will proudly tell their friends and family how they are “making a difference.” Hitler’s youth corps thought the same thing. So if “what remains to be seen” in your words becomes reality, then what? We just wait for the next election hoping that the new sock puppet will REALLY represent change?
I think the point made around here is why would anyone assume benevolence before they assume trickery? Does history teach us nothing? If you want to engage in community service, there is no need to sign up on any government list before doing it. Even assuming the best it makes zero sense as ANY government service will cost more to deliver and does so with inferior quality. Taxes will have to be raised to support this silliness, but we will of course be told that it is for the greater good.
I guess you haven’t reached the point yet where you can call the bluff before you raise your bet, but it’s good that you share your views around here. Obama is being hyped to unprecedented status with no valid actions, on his part, that prove he deserves it. Therefore, an event will have to be staged before the Obama honeymoon is eclipsed by reality. This way, while he is at the height of glorification and damn near God-like deity, the NWO can easily institute whatever policies they want, because the world’s been hypnotized and self-hypnotized into believing, at this point in time, that Barack (Super-Hero) Obama can do no wrong.

Oh yea. Our founding fathers us a covenant to keep for each other. It’s called the constitution. The constitution was created to protect us FROM the government. The constitution calls for all citizens to bear allegiance to each other, by promising to protect and defend the inalienable rights that our CREATOR endowed upon us all. The language of our constitution always specifically states what the government can or CANNOT do, which would violate our EQUAL rights to LIFE, to BEAR ARMS, FREEDOM OF RELIGIOUS EXPRESSION, PEACEFUL ASSEMBLY, and SPEECH, any of which if violated, would impair our LIBERTY, and our PURSUIT of HAPPINESS. Our founding fathers knew that government with absolute power, corrupts absolutely. The US was formed as a way to be free of an overbearing and over taxing government that. Obama’s plan is to ruin all that we have fought for to keep our country free, and make the people dependent on government. It’s the only way his party can perpetuate it’s ideology. Soma anyone?

Obama really needs to be given a chance here folks. I’m sure he has some good ideas and we should really give him a chance to prove he’s got what it takes or not. It’s easy for us to bitch and complain, but instead maybe we could back him up. It seams that no matter who we have in office, a lot of people just want to cry about everything. Grow up and be a good citizen. The mayor nearby gets this same type of behavier from the people too. If you think it’s so easy, then run for office. Maybe we can throw rocks at you. I used to work at Starbucks and can tell you that all of their “public relations” about being such a great company to work for is BS. They are nothing more then an elitist Mcdonalds. The pay is terrible. They force their workers to live off of poor wages and measly tips while the corporate executives ilk huge money from investor’s 401ks. In order to survive, Starbucks has to keep growing. It’s like a virus. Once it stops growing it will collapse. I mean think about it logically. There are so many stores across the country. Think about how expensive it is to open a store, redesign it, pay taxes, pay insurance etc. Do you really think they are making money from the coffee they are selling? No. They are making money by sucking money from the stupid investors who pour massive cash into a poorly run company. What’s going to happen when all of the baby boomer money is gone? My generation can’t afford Starbucks.
