Update: GVSU students protest shooting of Derek Copp, hold ‘Why was our friend shot’ signs – " A friend of Derek Copp, Karah Bradshaw, 19, said she has visited Derek at the hospital, and he’s up and talking. She said the bullet hit him in the upper chest, but the bullet traveled downward and did damage. She said there should not have been a drug raid of Copp’s apartment…"
"About 40 people had gathered on campus by 11:30 a.m., including student Ben Rose, a protest organizer and friend of Copp. Both lived in the off-campus complex called Campus View apartments.
"’We’re out here because we’re outraged at the police brutality,’ He also is spreading word about a protest planned at the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department on Monday afternoon…
"The students shouted, ‘We want safety, not dead students.’ Sayings on signs included, ‘Our campus is not a war zone’ and ‘Why was our friend shot?’ Another said, ‘Police brutality.’"

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – A Grand Valley State University student shot by an Ottawa County deputy told his parents he lifted his right arm to cover his eyes from a bright flashlight when the shot was fired.
He told them he didn’t know it was a police officer shining the light.
“He never even had a chance to even see who was coming at him, with a bright flashlight in his face,” Sheryl Copp, the mother of Derek Copp, told 24 Hour News 8. “He had no clue. He heard someone knock on his door, and he had no clue.”
The bullet entered the right side of Copp’s upper chest, broke ribs, ruptured his right lung and went through his liver, his parents said. It remained lodged in his lower back, nearly protruding through his skin, they said.
Doctors, they said, were planning to remove the bullet Friday.

Luckely i live in the Netherlands, no questioning at gun point, small military, legal drugs (in user quantities), intesive programs for drugaddicts, legal prostitution, “rich” western country, health care for everybody, freedom of speech, total freedom of religion. In this elite ruled world its not a bad place to be, im realizing it more and more. Maybe morally rejectable for die-hard christians/muslims/whatever, but i dont really see the problem there. Thats why we invented the separation between church and state right?
Im just so anti Dutch royalty, Queen Beatrix living in an almost literarly ivory tower, her palace, with all the billions her family makes on exploiding Africa through one of the most terrible companies in the world; Shell Oil. Also the Nazi period isnt really something to be proud of here, netiher is apartheid etc
I also strongly believe the reason Bernhard founded the Bilderberg group (well, enabled them in ‘54), was because these royal elite serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever, and in my opinion dont even have an excisting right anymore after what they did during the second world war. In other words, pure boredom.
By the way, keep a lookout for the son of the Queen at the next Bilderberg conventions, Willem-Alexander, strong rumours here that Beatrix is gonna step down anytime soon. Somebody has to fill up her shoes…

If everyone that knows where a cop lives…Put on some gloves and DO NOT TOUCH the paper without them…and send them a notice that they ARE being watched and better f---IN’ behave!!! Here in Columbus, Ohio, back in the early 80’s, a local band called ROSIE did a song called “Mistaken” in which the f---in’ pigs went into the wrong home and killed a couple people that were elderly!!! And our current, but, retiring police chief(James Jackson) shot and wounded an intruder outside his home…through the window!!! If I were to do that, 10years!!! But not for you f---IN’ PIGS!!! But at the same time I was in college when this occured and the Special Duty Columbus officers were in the bookstore…They were really bent that Jackson was NOT charged with assualt with a deadly weapon and deposed as the police chief!!! Good cop vs. Bad cop!!! And, the Mayor, had no legal authority to remove his soRRy ass!!! Go figure!!! You f---in’ cops better realize this…No Kevlar On The Face!!! A hand being raised…just demonstrates how paranoid the cops are. He expects guns in every fist, he expects weapons to fly at him. Who is making these cops so terrified that they’re basically s---ting themselves day and night over imagined fears? I’ve never seen such cowardice in all my life. I suppose trigger-happiness is part of this, especially considering how the uniform can inflate the ego and create a sense of omnipotence, but I tend to have more faith in the inherent goodness of humanity, therefore, that leads me to point to fear as a culprit behind the itchy finger. Why are cops so f---ing scared? Can anyone answer this? Are there daily briefings going out telling cops to be ultra-wary? Your badge alone tends to instill meekness in many, your gun the rest, and your own training in hand-to-hand self-defense should give you an ounce of confidence to know that you could easily overcome nearly any adversary short of professional fighters (a simple chicken-wing hold or a headlock is enough to stop even big dudes.) The trigger-happiness shows that they clearly have none of this confidence, they doubt themselves at every corner, in their heads they are castrated and impotent. So we’ve either got sadistic cops who get off on abusing others to make up for their own shortcomings, or coward cops who abuse out of excessive paranoia due to their own shortcomings. Cops need to grow some nuts and stop being bullies or sissies.

Anyone else notice how there has been a dramatic increase in media coverage of marijuana related news lately? It makes me wonder what the agenda planners have in mind…
We’re coming to a point where people are beginning to notice the injustices in the drug war. In a “free” country, how does a plant become illegal? When alcohol, tobacco, prescription drugs, and even coffee, are rampant in this society, how does pot become so taboo? How many millions are killed by legal drugs, and how many are killed by smoking grass? Zero. Nobody dies from smoking grass, so why is it illegal?
Mr. Bob Marley often said that governments outlawed pot for a reason, and it is not because of public safety. Authorities know that one who smokes cannabis has a dangerous tendency to show some freedom of thought.
With that being said, I am skeptical as to why media is pushing pot related news lately.

I always thought it would be a great idea to start a group that simply goes around and protests sad situations like this over the country.
All too easily does the media forget about stuff like this usually the last thing you hear about it is” officer is on paid leave while the investigation is ongoing”
I really can’t recall any story where there is actual follow-up and more importantly officers being fired and charged with crimes.
So i wish there was a 1000 member group that had enough funding to travel around the country from one crime to the next and really have huge (peaceful) protests until something was done!!!
I think i read above that at some point there was 40 people protesting… Good job to them but it SHOULD be 400 OR MORE.
I keep remembering back to the bart cops who killed that handcuffed guy that was laying on his stomach….. handcuffed………..

I wish i could single handidly afford to get a movement going that simply protests police abuse and stuff like this. I think that it would take some big number of people to just show up and stay and not leave. Given the advances in technology if the media ignores us we’ll release the info to the public ourselves.
Remembering back to the past couple bilderberg meetings i realized that it seemed like there weren’t that many people protesting there either.
In another article on infowars today is talking about in the coming time people will be in the streets marching en masse due to the economic crisis; don’t be so sure.
I always hope people will starting banding together in large numbers but….
BUT let’s not worry and do remember that the American Revolution was started with a very small number of people as well.

They didn’t know if the cop felt threatened, they didn’t know if the cop felt threatened etc. etc. etc.. I have a question, as long as I feel threatened can I shoot the person and get off scott free or do I have to be a cop? I have another one, what about someone coming into my apt. without knocking or saying who they are? Am I a person who lives there supposed to throw my hands up and say your the police or are you fake police that are using the uniform to rob me or rape my wife etc. etc.? You know what I hope more and more of things like this keep on happening. Because people will start to see the police as not neccessarily helping them but as a gang. I think that the police in general have alot of people that want to do the right thing, but many shouldn’t be police because there are individuals in this country that should never be responsible for anyone or anything. Because of mental hangups with certain people, or revenge motif etc. etc.. And for the police that say many of us aren’t bad, why do you keep coming out with the same 1 to 3 phrases when a cop screws up. He may have been in danger, resisting arrest, the suspect is lying. But they never consider that the cop could have shot him because of adrenaline, or that the cops where lied to and wanted to kick butt on a “drug dealer”, or that they cop was thinking about actually shooting somebody.
They always look at the cop couldn’t have done anything wrong and not that the cop could have done something wrong. I will tell you right now, these men and women who are being put into positions like this and are being told that this is the way to act etc. etc., better look out. They are being set up to take the fall big time when it implodes. The elite don’t want to be known or want to be in front during a battle, because they know that countries change back and forth. They start, become wealthy, then are imploded and fall apart. The elite are using the police and the govt officials as alex has said, a rear guard force for them. So what will be left is a police state that is battling it’s own people over whats left and having to believe in what the elite told them to believe in. Even though the elite told them stuff that would help the elite and not them. They are being sold down the river big time.

I’m with Ron Paul on this one. Here’s a perfectly reasonable medical doctor, of all things, opposed to government making any laws about what an adult decides to ingest, inhale, or drink. OK guys and gals. While I do go along with 90% of the news here, this story is NOT one of them. look the police had a tip of drugs at said address. They raid the address, which is OK in my book, you should not do drugs… (my public service announcment…) Now they shine a bright light in the guys eyes, which is done to off set the individual and NOT give him any targets by blinding him if he is hostle. At which point the story should end her with an arrest. but it does not BECAUSE THE KID IS STONED!!! he raises his hand to his face to cover his eyes, which depending on you angle a police officer could easily surmise he is going for a gun, and I for one would not like to find out. Let’s not paint a rosy picture of the situation the kid was doing a criminal act and it got him shot. Plain and simple DRUGS CAN KILL in mutiple ways.
College kids look for any reason to protest. While there are many GOOD reasons on this site alone, THIS story is NOT one of them. Looking from the outside in, if you guys want to win people over to the NWO theories, it is best not to be talking about all the token up and bowls you smoke. It really does not lend to your cause. alright to let you all know, there is more to the story….i’m a journalism major at GVSU where Derek goes. Yet again, INFOWARS reporting proves to be childlike at best. For one thing, the police have yet to divulge any details regarding the raid (knowing there will be a lawsuit, they have to wait for the trial). The raid which was carried out by WMET (West Michigan Enforcement Team) was a drug raid on a suspected dealer. It wasn’t as if they just smelled weed and decided to raid him. WMET carries out complex stings usually after watching them for a long time. I know this because before i started college i sold drugs and got caught and was raided by them…WMET although is highly unethical in their practices, they don’t just go and start shooting people….and it was and Ottawa County Deputy that shot him. I’m not justifying that kind of force at all…but sounds like a simple street cop tagging along on a SWAT style raid and was a little jumpy. But when you get raided, they do it with guns drawn…thats the downside of being a dealer. Now it’s not “proven” that he had drugs on him…but most around here highly suspect he was a dealer, whether or not they botched the raid, that’s just a general consensus.
Personally I think Derek was a nice guy, bright student, and probably sold on the side. I hope he gets well soon. But it sounds like a typical raid with a jumpy cop that freaked out by Derek making a quick movement. This is a highly religious part of the state. Although these cops HATE drug use….they have no desire to shoot everyone that smokes weed.
on that note. Legalize it.

can you conceptualize why people might have a problem with a “jump squad” like these idiots kicking down doors for any reason. Here is the current state of affairs. This country has and still is being envaded by illegal immigrants that are by in large nice people. But the ones that are gand affiliated and countrolling the “real drug trade” where many people are dying at alarming rates. Then you have a pot dealer….wow, that really stacks up as a need to have highly trained nazi-police attack and control. Here is the deal bro, I’m sure you don’t see the hypocracy because your blinded to your own. But when Americans are shot in drug raids over non-lethal materials like mary-jane. That means things like what you are thinking are next. So when a cop kicks down your door for thinking something against the “LAW” and shoots you knowing that there isn’t a Judge alive that will allow a conviction. Maybe this story will be more important. Until then, look up the word “SLAVE” and then think of yourself in there.

dan, you are a mental infant if you can choke down the manure of police propaganda. They use “confidential informants”, basically paid/coerced snitches who will tell the cops what they want to hear. Truth has no importance to the modern US police officer. They are trained to see “us” as the enemy. Take, for example, the retarded police use of the word “civilian”. Everyone who is not on active military duty is a CIVILIAN!
Cops only care about what they can get away with, which, considering the spineless state of most “Merkins” is way too much.
Anyway, who said he was a dealer? Tips, warrants, and the testimony of police officers means nothing to me. Even if they didn’t find any drugs, you can bet one of them pigs had a pocket full to drop.

First off there HAD to be more to it then just one kid smoking weed. Cops do not break down doors with a tactical team because of one joint. The kids was most likley a dealer. Most dealers shoot back… Stop defending the kid. He broke the law plain and simple. The shooting was an accident due to his quick hand motions. You have ask WHAT brought the cops there.
Now why would you want and armed conflict against, what you call, ‘the establishment?’ Yes some cops are bad, but not many. Yes almost all have attitudes. But wouldn’t you if you always dealt with ass holes all day? As I stated the cops be on the people’s side. What you need to do is try the federal goverment for treason and excecute anyone you find guilty.

It is meant to push the people as far as possible and into resistance. Just another method of domination and subjugation. They need more that one button to push. You are going to get pissed off enough that you rise up and then they pray/believe they can dominate but with all the guns it will be hard. So pass the legislation, and give a amnesty period, then by attrition, void the fourth amendment and go to the homes to see.

Here we go, the second video just showed that the cops are so flipint about lighting up a “slave” that they don’t even care enough to start a cover up. In fact, the cop will get his paid vacation and a doughnutt bonus for shooting an unarmed slave and getting away with it. We all know that the kid will have to face some trumped up charges down the line and possible “battery of an officer’s bullet”. f---ing Judges are completely bought in and have no worries about their evil menion that are running the streets holding civilains hostage. The funny thing, about three blocks from there a MS-13 drug house that is harboring woman that were physically dragged from their homes in Latin America, tourchered, and made slaves in this country for the sex industry. So yeah, the reasoning of shooting a college kid over pot makes total sense to me. The cops and there “On Goning Investigation” are just too funny. It’s almost like the “Star Chamber”, just make up what ever works and feed it to the media, or in this case, just tell them it’s none of the slaves …. uhmm … people’s business. Don’t you trust us? this is not 100%, but i believe most of the people that are cops, that becoming a police officer is the biggest thing that has happened to them in thier life and they think they are somebody now because they are a cop and think that peopleshould bow down to them, and the badge and the authority go to their head because they know have a certain power over people that they have never had before in their life and they are going to use it because they are somebody know and by god we better do what they say, the kid in school that never was the big shot he wanted to be is the cop on the street today! give me someone that becomes a cop just cause that is how it worked out or it was a good opportunity, instead of the guy that has always wanted to be a cop and now thier dicks hard all the time cause they are a police officer!

I use to attend GVSU from 2004-2008. The cops up there are pretty right-winged and obsessed with Christian ideology. They called in a swat team to raid the apartment 2 doors down from me, only to find a bowl and a 1/4 ounce of weed. The shooting occurred at Campus View Apartments, a mere 1/2 mile from where i use to live for two years.

We should all wear baseball caps that say police or Marines. I am a Marine and have found that police treat me nicer knowing I am ex Military. I’m down for wearing a cap that says “who gives a f---”. The average human life span is 80 years and people are worried about legalizing a drug that is dealt by middle schoolers. There are bigger problems than 1 stoner getting shot at because of police ineptitude too. This s--- could be cleaned up with a bit of self control and knowledge.
