A 23-year-old man has filed a lawsuit saying he was “tortured” by Denver police officers who plowed the handcuffed man’s face across the floor of his apartment, kneed him in the face, stood on his ankles and bent his fingers backward.
Police were responding to an April 10 noise complaint about a going-away party for the man at his Lower Downtown apartment, according to the federal civil rights lawsuit filed Monday by Rohit Mukherjee.
When party guests used their cell phones to videotape and photograph the alleged police abuse, Officer Abbegayle Dorn seized the phones and dumped them in a bowl of water “to destroy evidence,” according the lawsuit.
