Thirty-six years after the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in the landmark Roe v. Wade case that termination of pregnancy was legal, abortion is still a bitterly debated social and political issue in the United States.

A Gallup poll conducted earlier this month showed 51 percent of Americans identified themselves as “pro-life.”
A story today from Reuters Lila Rose, a 20-year-old history major at University of California has gone undercover to expose the taxpayer-subsidized organization’s cover-up of sexual abuse by Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest provider of surgical abortions.
Rose, who was raised in a large family in California and started www.LiveAction.Org at the age of 15, decided to conduct her own investigation after seeing Planned Parenthood sued by girls who said the clinics covered up their sexual abuse and reading a study that found that the practice was common.
Because minors cannot legally consent to sex with an adult, health providers are required to report to authorities when an underage girl has been impregnated by an older man.
Ms Rose claims Planned Parenthood counselors routinely ignore their duty to report statutory rape when dealing with young girls impregnated by older men and often tell them to lie about their age or the identity of their sex partners rather than alert authorities.
Posing as a pregnant teenage girl with a video camera hidden in her backpack, Lila went into two Los Angeles area Planned Parenthood clinics in March 2007. Rose, then 18, told the staff she was 15 and had been impregnated by her 23-year-old boyfriend.

She says the workers at the first center encouraged her to lie about her age so that they would not have to report statutory rape. At the second center, she says, counselors aggressively pushed her to have an abortion.
Since then, Rose has conducted stings at six other clinics, pretending to be a 13- or 14-year-old girl carrying the baby of a much older man. She says staff members at all six clinics told her they did not care about her age or would not report it and in three instances instructed her to lie.
“Planned Parenthood is looking at these young girls as a plumbing problem: ‘We’ll get you that abortion and send you on your way,’” Rose told Reuters in an interview. “And that’s disrespecting two human lives. It’s destroying her pre-born child and sending her back to an abuser.”
“The laws are set up so that the children don’t have to ask for help. It’s the job of mandated reporters to be looking at this girl and figuring out her well being. Is she OK? Who is her sexual partner?” Rose said. She went on to say “And it’s set up that way because these girls are dealing with shame, fear, and manipulation. They can’t say, ‘Hey, he’s 21, make the report please.”
A spokesman for Planned Parenthood declined to discuss the specific cases involving Rose but said the organization has strict policies and procedures regarding mandatory reporting and takes seriously laws protecting minors.
“In rare instances where health center employees violate those policies, immediate corrective action is taken,” he said.
If that is the case then why have Planned Parenthood clinics posted Rose’s picture to alert workers? Are they afraid they might be exposed again?
As a result of Ms Rose’s posts of the secretly obtained tapes on the website of her nonprofit group, LiveAction.org, authorities in three states have been prompted to launch investigations of Planned Parenthood.
A grand jury in Marion County, Indiana, is investigating Planned Parenthood based on Rose’s videotapes and authorities in Tennessee and Arizona say they are reviewing the matter.
Officials in Tennessee and Orange County, California, have considered suspending public funds to the organization.
Rose’s activities have won her support from conservatives, anti-abortion activists and some child abuse experts and umbrage from abortion rights supporters — at least one urging donations to Planned Parenthood in her name.

dude.. sometimes a baby has to die… its a sad thing, but better aborted than tossed in a dumpster, or abandoned when the mother dies in child birth and the father is a 15 year old McDonalds employee making $6.15 an hour part time and can’t support it, if she even knows who the father is, because hey, rape happens, most rapists don’t take that extra few seconds to say ‘hey, hold that thought, gotta wear a rubber!’, so why don’t you let little girls, either sluts or rape victims, do what they will with their body, and you do what you will with yours, and worry about more pressing issues in the world right now, because odds are, if the kid was vacuumed out, it probably wasn’t going to be raised right, and we’re better off without it…

Life begins at conception. the heart starts beating 3 weeks after conception, when people just find out they are pregnant. the baby should be given up for adoption if the woman or girl is not ready for one. i don’t think that killing an innocent baby is the right route to choose. Your mother didn’t kill you… and she could have. But she didn’t. i don’t think abortion is right in any matter. Furthermore, we don’t need population control, all we need to do is end the Daddy Welfare State and make people personally responsible for the lives they bring into this world. If we do that people won’t have more babies than they can personally afford to support.

My mother works for Planned Parenthood, she is a single a mother who takes pride in helping young “families” plan their future and provide assistance to young couples like the “WIC” program. She sure isnt a eugenics monster who wants to sacrifice babies to Satan. Just a women who raised a son and daughter by herself and understands the hardship which comes with being a single mom. Planned Parenthood does alot a good for young parents and single moms deal with it.

How many of you know about the reporting of 17 and 18 year old boys who got their 16 and 17 year old girlfriends pregnant and went to PRISON for it? I mean put yourself in the place of the kid for a minute. Lets say that you and her have been going together steady since 10th grade, lets say that you two were using birth control. Keep in mind that only abstinence is 100% effective birth control. So something happens that defies the odds and you two are pregnant. But you dont want to be pregnant, you two wish to go to college and get married before you have kids… So you go to P.P. to get an abortion as is the female’s right.

“Sending her back to an abuser?” Let me get this… A teenage female can have sex with half the males in her school (plus any lesbian sex she wants). For as much as I hate abortion and Planned Parenthood, I hate victim-stancing even worse. This constant portrayal of women as victims is pathetic. Tennagers know what they are doing. By allowing the excuse of statutory rape and providing an escape in abortion, women are taught that responsibility only exsists for men. Recognize this whole epidemic for what it is. I agree with you on the statutory rape laws, and I’m a feminist! This is not a “feminist” law. My biggest problem with them is that if an underager lies about their age, it cannot be used as a defense. That’s just ludicrous.

Women are expected to shoulder the child care burden, as well as work a job, PLUS do all the housework. I watched my own mother struggle through this during my childhood, while my father even went on disability for two years from a fake injury and still did NOTHING to help her. Women are the biggest slaves of society. If anything, men are the ones who continually escape responsibility, when it takes two to make a baby. I don’t hear about a “single dad” problem, where large numbers of men are being stuck with child care because the women they had sex with decided not to take responsibility for the child, and the men are now living in poverty struggling to make ends meet with their child(ren). You obviously have absolutely no idea what it’s like to be a woman.

Men can have influence. If the man matters to the woman, then he will have a say. The woman is more likely to keep it if the man wants to have it, fyi…happened to my sister, in fact. She kept her baby because her boyfriend wanted to have it, and he actually takes care of my niece and is a good father.

This isnt so much an issue of abortion but the turning of heads when statutory rape was discovered.

I don’t know if the organization is deliberately turning their heads to this issue or if its just some employees that don’t want to fill out the paperwork and make a phone call.

Roe vs Wade was a very important decision for women’s rights in this country.
The problem with using abortion for population control is that only responsible countries do this, along with limiting the number of children per family because of the inability of the earth to sustain it’s population.
The very real and extremely troubling problem with this is that the muslims of the world are not only doing everything they can to have as many children as possible, they are suceeding and in the very near future, around 2025 or so, they will be just about the only race of people left on the earth.

i don’t believe in abortion myself, but i think in some instances that it is warranted. if there is a rape or a medical emergency, i can see where it may be appropriate. underage teens generally think that they “know what they are doing” , but they lack the brain power to fully see the consequences of their actions, they don’t develop that brain power until much later, or after they have to go through something like this. they have to learn from their mistakes so to speak. i think that we have all done that. but i also think that you have to take into consideration the question of, how many of these girls go into these clinics and lie to begin with? what difference does another lie make when the clinic has no idea if these girls are lying to start with? the undercover went in there with a lie……where does it all stop? should we have to bring a baby into this world of lies and have it be mistreated and unloved by someone who didn’t want it to start with? i feel giving it up for adoption is a better choice, but what do i know????

This article is not about abortion, but the fact that children are being sexually abused and this orginization who is supposed to protect people when it is called for is not. Think about it for a minute: If someone dated a freshman when they were a senior in high school, and then continued that relationship into college, would you consider them to be a child molester?
Similarly, how many of us are either married to or have dated someone several years younger or older than us?
If these girls wanted to have their boyfriends thrown into jail, all they’d have to do would be to call the police, not visit Planned Parenthood.
You can argue against abortion all you want, but it is considered a legal medical procedure, and anyone that supported the right of Daniel Hauser not to have the government force chemo on him better not be coming down against these girls now that the shoe is on the other foot.

The big problem arises when PLANNED DEATH doesn’t tell the police that these very young girls were molested by their step-father, priest, rabbi, etc…….. Although, as children under their parents supervision, the parents definitely SHOULD be notified BEFOREHAND since they are their “legal guardians”.

No one “wants” to have an abortion, and most women who make that choice don’t make it lightly.
That’s why the overwhelming majority of participants in that story were both pro-life AND in favor of legalized abortion.

Holistic medicine like the Huasers wanted to use is legal as well, and I described abortion in those terms specifically because those supporting that family rightfully point out that they should have the right to utilize it, regardless of what others think, just as these girls should be able to make this decision on their own without interference.
And if, as you say in your comment, some of these girls are getting an abortion because they have been molested by a family member, why should they then have to get consent from the person who raped them in the first place?

I agree that the law is wrong in making a child molester out of a 19yr old guy who dates a 17 year old girl. And as you pointed out, it’s not as popular when a woman is the offender. I’m not sure I understand the comparison to forced chemo. I was young & alone when I had my daughter. Two months ago she had a baby she didn’t want & now won’t take care of. She used drugs while she was pregnant & yes, he is sick alot. On the other hand, two women I know had abortions that they now regret. Are a handful of cells a baby to be protected? I wish I knew when “life” begins. But, it seems that when there is this fully formed baby that does feel pain, wouldn’t an abortion be torturing it to death? As for myself,tubes are tied, uterus lining burned.

I was just pointing out that people should at least attempt to be consistent in their views, and if they were opposed to the government interfering with his personal medical decisions, they should afford these girls the same respect.
Even though I wouldn’t have made the choice the Hausers did, I supported them until I learned he was illiterate, which I thought showed his parents were neglectful, and didn’t have his best interests in mind.
Once I found out that he couldn’t read due to autism, I went back to supporting them, even though I felt that they’re decision was tantamount to a death sentence for him, just as many people feel that aborting 2 cells is the equivalent of murder.
I suppose I could have brought up the Schiavo case as well, in which conservatives demanded the government intervene in her care, but this one was more recent.

Talk about a frickin irony – an organization created specifically to butcher babies and to eradicate the black population is in the news for condoning sexual abuse. That is like Al Capone being in the news for consuming alcohol. Hiding the sexual abuse is wrong, of course, but PP rips babies limbs off, they suck the brains out of their heads while the babies are quivering in agony, they encourage sexual promiscuity specifically to increase abortion and their “sex ed” programs always lead to an increase in abortion. Planned Parenthood exists to create teen pregnancy and to butcher babies. How did this nation become so stupid, immoral and cursed?

Notice how those who support abortion they use twisted terminology since they can’t deal with the truth that they condone murder, that it stops the heart of a living human. The preborn baby is never called a ‘baby’ but ‘the fetus’ to de-humanize it, they say they are about ‘reproductive rights’ when abortion has nothing to do with reproduction! (and the rights of the pre-born are ignored) The oposite of ‘pro-life’ is of course ‘pro-death’ but they always use the term ‘pro-choice’, and of course the baby has no choice in the matter. The life of the baby in the womb is discounted totally, but some ‘doctor’ like that jew abortionist man (er, I mean over-grown fetus) named Slepian gets killed (er, I mean retroactively aborted) in his New York home and boy do they get upset! I recall when the one who shot and killed a couple abortion clinic workers in Boston in 1994. I recall hearing on the news that morning on the big Hartford CT radio station WTIC reorted that 4 people were murdered that morning there in Hartford, it was the headline news. Then the next hour the top story was breaking news from Boston were the 2 were shot. I listened to the radio news each hour for the rest of that that afternoon and evening but they NEVER mentioned the 4 that were killed that morning right in the city, only the incident a hundred miles away in Boston was big news and they forgot all about the 4 right nearby. Jesus will judge everyone by what he sees in your individual hearts. If your old enough to bleed then your old enough to breed. It means she has become a woman and it is enviromental brain washing that keeps her a child. Let’s say an 18 year old faces prison time for having sex with a 17 year old. That is insane to say the least. In some countries you are a man at 13 and a woman at 12. Even the church says the age of accountability is at 12. Children grow up much faster in a country that has no fabricated enviroment. The age of consent is just a made up law by the conspiring elite, so they can continue to spew their lies of deciet that it is awful for babies to have babies. It leaves the so called child free of any shame and responsibility, and at the same time keeps population under control.

All I can say about birth control is some big name illuminati probobly funded it or did fund it. Its not good for you at all and there are many risks with it. Abortion should be legal but not just used as the easy way out. If your daughter was raped or forced into a sexual action they shouldn’t have the baby unless for some reason they reall want to. Now if kids are just being irresponsible and have sex and just keep getting pregnant then maybe they will just have to learn the hard way. I had a kid when I was 20 years old which really isn’t too young but abortion was never on my mind. Another good reason is if what happends if they mother to be has a really big drug problem and conceived the baby on drugs and probobly isn’t going to stop using drugs? Before the whole life to be turns into anything maybe the right thing would be to use the morning after pill or even get an abortion maybe 1 month into the pregnancy before it actually reall developes into anything. I’m not all about people just getting abortions left or right but there are instances where its not a bad idea. Iresponsibilty is not one of my reasons.
