So says Ted Turner, the restaurateur, environmentalist and former media mogul whose controversial comments have earned him the nickname “Mouth of the South.”
If steps aren’t taken to stem global warming, “We’ll be eight degrees hotter in 30 or 40 years and basically none of the crops will grow,” Turner said during a wide-ranging, hour-long interview with PBS’s Charlie Rose that aired Tuesday.
“Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals,” said Turner, 69. “Civilization will have broken down. The few people left will be living in a failed state — like Somalia or Sudan — and living conditions will be intolerable.”
One way to combat global warming, Turner said, is to stabilize the population.
“We’re too many people; that’s why we have global warming,” he said. “Too many people are using too much stuff.”
Turner suggested that “on a voluntary basis, everybody in the world’s got to pledge to themselves that one or two children is it.”

Go to http://www.time.com/time/photo.....01,00.html and look at the pictures of miles of chunks of ice supposedly breaking off in the Antartica. I live in Canada and have never seen ice breaking this perfectly. They are trying to make us believe that ice breaks in perfect rectangular shapes. Ha Ha Ha. I am not that brain dumb and neither are you once you look at the picture. Anyone know what the technology is that is used here? Laser maybe?

Ha – they’re using climate change as an excuse to eliminate 80% of the population? Now that is sad. Why don’t we just make a public transport system that works, and bike/walk? What the hell is wrong with the world? When I was at school, we were told that recycling and public transport were the answers. Now days they’re saying that we need to depopulate the planet.

While I think the cannibal thing is just plain stupid..I don’t necessarily disagree with the one or two child comment. There are way too many people with 6, 8 and 10 children. If they could take care of them all then it’s not a problem but 90% of them can’t even take care of themselves much less 10 kids. And the welfare state is just encouraging this because a woman with 10 kids living on welfare can live an upper-middle class lifestyle by neglecting her kids (which is why she has 10 kids to begin with). They are a burdon on our society, on our resources and our planet.
It’s a conflicting topic for me with conflicting opinions. On one hand, there should be no regulation as to how many children you can have. On the other hand, people who have children to take advantage of our system should be dealt with accordingly.
If you make $120,000 a year and want to blow it all on your children… fine! But if you live on welfare and you want to have 10 children… then something should be done!

I would never believe Ted Turner.
I used to have some respect for this guy.

Just a thought, does anyone ever take a step back and realize how incredible this all is? Everything we know? It’s like the movie the matrix, except there’s no physically different dimension that we find ourselves in, once we know the truth. Instead, we find ourselves right in the middle of things, but based on our perception of the world, we might as well be in another dimension. It’s something you never imagined until you realize how real it is.

His eyes would be swamped by the darkness, and would take time to become acclimated. Man oh man, we are really living in La La Land. I know a lot of Christians read these articles because of Alex Jones’ professed Christianity. I think we are coming close to the days when Alex can’t be just a “news show”– The recent topics of life extension are key. We are saved only by Christ. Never more has there been more to say and less and less ability to convey it all. As we head towards that singularity, as we head towards judgement day all jaws will drop in amazement. Every time I hear another ugly figure talking about “stabilizing” and “maintaining” population I shriek in horror. We run to the judgement seat and think, “maybe we should take steps to stabilize Ted Turner’s growth”– Don’t do it, fellow Christians. Stand against evil but don’t hate it. If we give in to hate we lose more than the fight for humanity, we lose our souls. We need to bring ourselves back to the gospel message every day.

The fluctuations in temperatures worldwide shown on every graph, among some other obvious proof, clearly indicate our CO2 does not cause global warming and that temperatures are NOT rising constantly worldwide but is less stable and more erratic.

Everyone recently seems so REACTIONARY and sensitive, it is almost beyond comprehension. Big deal, Ted Turner gave a very nice interview to Charlie Rose of PBS. Turner is a remarkable person with views that sometimes are well “out there”. I recall sitting in lecture hall when Ted was married to Jane Fonda and he clearly had been drinking at dinner and was making these rather outrageous apocalyptical statements to undergrads about the end of the world, nuclear and environmentally, at a name Ivy League school.
We just sat there and listened while he ranted on and on about the imminent danger of the earth coming apart at the seems. It was actually humorous and started to get boring because his train of thought was well less than coherent. Some of us were looking at each other as in why did we come to this thing?
Now, several years later, he is very forthright, choate and clear. His number one priority is to work to contain nuclear weapons in all nations through cooperative efforts of the world’s leading nations of influence. So let’s trash Ted about taking on a noble cause. Eh? When he is asked what his greatest accomplishment is, he says it is winning the America’s Cup and his five children. His greatest failure? His three marriages.
During that lecture Jane was in the audience and had to pretty embarrassingly get up and finish thoughts for her then husband because he was plainly “out of it”. Ted Turner has had lifelong issues with mania and alcohol and has really worked to get his act together.
Turner says he is not particularly fond of CNN now because they do not really report the news at all and lack international content on the domestic CNN. He mocked their anchors’ styles.
The address at university by Ted Turner was pretty interesting but he was clearly having issues and the whole thing really had the air of “take it with a grain of salt”.
When it was over I went over to Jane and asked if she would sign her autograph on a couple of school books with some interesting words for myself and my then girlfriend. She was more than happy to. Meanwhile, Ted looked so out of it I just looked at him with fellow students as in we really don’t think we should ask you to be writing a thing. So much for improperly managed psych issues.
Ted Turner is a great achiever, flawed, but then again aren’t we all. He knows Rupert Murdoch, but has had an ongoing uncomfortable relationship with him. I think they have had lunch together once or twice. And if he thinks everyone should just have two kids, well Ted you are just wrong because you have more and that is plain hypocritical. Ted Turner is a legend. Sure not perfect. He buys into all the global warming charade but his larger concern is industrial pollution. A very valid concern.
I just sometimes wonder when people get so outright critical of a person as if they lead the most pious and perfect lives. Then start on Turner as in, he is NWO, Globalist yadda yadda. Bottom line is he is a very bright, industrious American who founded CNN and had handshakes to be able to buy all the other networks if he chose to.
Currently he is mainly interested in his restaurant business and genuinely likes people now that his drinking is under control. I guess people can trash anyone at any time. Sure seems like all you have to do is yell the right buzzwords. Well, there are exceptions. Next thing you know, Jon Stewart from Comedy Central’s Daily Show is going to be tarred and feathered too. Now that would be funny.

Over population is simply caused by poverty. If you can count to three you can figure that out. There is enough resources to ensure that every human being right now could have a quality life. When people are secure, people stop having extra kids for their version of “social security” and especialy people will stop feeding their bodies to the war machine that helps “cuttle the heard”. Too mesy, expensive and destructive. No canibalism either. Take our neighbor to the South. Mexico has three times the resources that the US has. Why is Mexico so poor? I can give the same answer when asking the same question about India, Bangladesh, China, Palestine, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, where ever most people live in unnecessary sqaler, and that is the (local and internatonal) elitests control everything and feel that they need to starve everyone else in order for them to live.

The only reason why the resources of the world are not being distributed fairly is because the elitests’ (whom Ted Turner is part of) control the resources and their distribution acording to THEIR needs, not ours.

If were going to judge the worth of someone being able to live and breed by their genitic quality, fine with me! Why do I say such a thing? Well, when you think about it, who, from thousands of years of inbreeding and insestial heritages would have the most messed up genes? Who actualy has the least quality genes? If you answered “the Elitests!”, there’s hope for you and the world. Their debased genitics has caused them to become highly socialpathic and insane. Instead of “too many people are using too much stuff” Mr. Ted T-Bone Urner should have perhaps said that “some people – like me and my other ridicilously rich friends – are using way too much stuff while some have absolutely nothing to start with.” Meaning we should probably feed him and his friends to the poor polar bears first – and just for starters – to see how far that would get us.

People need to stop worrying about what “poor people” do with their lives and live their own pathetic lives. Those who dont call themselves poor are still impoverished in spirit and intellect it seems. Ted Turner needs to have his nasty yellow teeth kicked down his throat.
