Texas Cops to Snoop School Kids with Squad Car Video

Security cameras have been in schools for years, but the city of Frisco has developed a program that allows officers and firefighters to view video from those cameras from their own patrol cars and fire trucks. That could mean saved time for emergency crews to save lives.
The program, called SAFER, allows emergency officials to instantly tap into hundreds of cameras at Frisco schools from virtually anywhere.

What can be so dangerous in a school that monitors outside of school are needed. Can not the school principal and staff monitor their own school? Why not assign a cop to every home. Require the “home” to fund it’s protective cop.
Every family will be required to hire 3 cops at 50k/yr, and provide full health care for the cop and his dependents. These cops will work8 hour shifts, get all paid government holidays, maternity leave, pension contributions, 10 sick days, 2-4 weekd of paid vacation. The family will also need to hire a part time officer, with full benefits, to cover missed days of the full time officers. If the childres must work in order to afford their protective officers, so be it. If the family can not afford their protective officers they will be transported to internment camps and given mass protective services. The will earn their mass protective services by working the ovens and fields of the collective plantation[s].
Refusal to accept protective services shall result in death by lethal injection vacination.

Great Post! It sounds absurd to have cops assigned to each home, but it is only one step away from where we are now. Cameras in the schools, it is way over the top. Stupid parents think it is all good, all for the “safety” of their children. But did they ever think of protecting the childrens freedoms as well?

From what I know about this system or a similar one, it isnt really for 24 hour/7 days a week monitoring. It is more for incidents such as school shootings and hostage situations, so responders can see where the bad guys are inside the building. I doubt cops and firefighters are going to be sitting around all day watching lil kids.

I agree with Roaddog. The excuse is for “safety”. Safety? How often is that going to be that strong to be needed? Who has the “key” to the children’s privacy and private areas for that matter?
Ha, let us say that I am a beauty model. In that case I want as many people to look at me and to worship me as can be. Even so, I am not to be exposed for all to see all the time at their whim. Therefore I would and do condemn these invasions.
I would like to know when the last time was that a school burned to the point that the children needed to be monitored as to where each and every one of them were in the burning confines to be located and therefore rescued. Again, who has the “key” to this invasion?

Too many cops are power-mad.
I suspect many of them a’re people who suffer from generalized feelings of powerlessness and guilt due to abusive authoritarian upbringing. As a result, they always have a need to feel powerful over others, and to tell others “you’re guilty, not me”. They loathe psychologists.
Children are easy targets for people like cops.
In addition, security cameras give a feeling of power without any interaction or risk, perfect for cowards.
