    December 20, 2008

(NaturalNews) In April of 2008, President Bush signed into law S.1858 which allows the federal government to screen the DNA of all newborn babies in the U.S. This was to be implemented within 6 months meaning that this collection is now being carried out. Congressman Ron Paul states that this bill is the first step towards the establishment of a national DNA database.

S.1858, known as The Newborn Screening Saves Lives Act of 2007, is justified as a “national contingency plan” in that it represents preparation for any sort of public health emergency. The bill states that the federal government should “continue to carry out, coordinate, and expand research in newborn screening” and “maintain a central clearinghouse of current information on newborn screening… ensuring that the clearinghouse is available on the Internet and is updated at least quarterly”. Sections of the bill also make it clear that DNA may be used in genetic experiments and tests. Read the full bill: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xp…

big brother The Bill Nobody Noticed: National DNA DatabankTwila Brase, president of the Citizens’ Council on Health Care warns that this new law represents the beginning of nationwide genetic testing. Brase states that S.1858 and H.R. 3825, the House version of the bill, will:
    • Establish a national list of genetic conditions for which newborns and children are to be tested.
    • Establish protocols for the linking and sharing of genetic test results nationwide.
    • Build surveillance systems for tracking the health status and health outcomes of individuals diagnosed at birth with a genetic defect or trait.
    • Use the newborn screening program as an opportunity for government agencies to identify, list, and study “secondary conditions” of individuals and their families.
    • Subject citizens to genetic research without their knowledge or consent.
Read her entire analysis of the implications of this bill here: http://www.cchconline.org/pdf/S_1858_NB…

Brase states that under this bill, “The DNA taken at birth from every citizen is essentially owned by the government, and every citizen becomes a potential subject of government-sponsored genetic research.” All 50 states are now routinely providing results of genetic screenings to the Department of Homeland Security and this bill will establish the legality of that practice plus include DNA.

Ron Paul has also vigorously argued against this bill making the following comments before the US House of Representatives:

“I cannot support legislation…that exceeds the Constitutional limitations on federal power or in any way threatens the liberty of the American people. I must oppose it.”

“S. 1858 gives the federal bureaucracy the authority to develop a model newborn screening program. Madame Speaker, the federal government lacks both the constitutional authority and the competence to develop a newborn screening program adequate for a nation as large and diverse as the United States. …”

“Those of us in the medical profession should be particularly concerned about policies allowing government officials and state-favored interests to access our medical records without our consent … My review of S. 1858 indicates the drafters of the legislation made no effort to ensure these newborn screening programs do not violate the privacy rights of parents and children, in fact, by directing federal bureaucrats to create a contingency plan for newborn screening in the event of a ‘public health’ disaster, this bill may lead to further erosions of medical privacy. As recent history so eloquently illustrates, politicians are more than willing to take, and people are more than willing to cede, liberty during times of ‘emergency.”

Hillary Clinton says “For the sake of the children”. Dem or Rep, they are all in this crap together.

    2. two-party puppets Says:

I believe this one passed unanimously in the senate.

    3. tearin Says:

hmm.. wonder what sort of tests they had in mind for the dna..

    4. GotHotKimChee Says:

Freaky! I don’t want anyone to have the right to collect and store our personal DNA in a databank w/out our consent and use it for experimentation. This is probably tied in with the some project to catalog as much DNA as possible for research. Sure does make me go hmmm…

    5. Mark Says:

      Sense,

The US Constitution may have been inspired directly by Locke, but Locke was clearly inspired directly by Divinity.

From the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy:

‘According to Locke, God created man and we are, in effect, God’s property. The chief end set us by our creator as a species and as individuals is survival. A wise and omnipotent God, having made people and sent them into this world:

“…by his order and about his business, they are his property whose workmanship they are, made to last during his, not one another’s pleasure: and being furnished with like faculties, sharing all in one community of nature, there cannot be supposed any subordination among us, that may authorize us to destroy one another, as if we were made for one another’s uses, as the inferior ranks of creatures are for our’s.”‘

    6. Brian P Says:

I would let them take my kids dna. what could be wrong with that?

That said, by my kids dna, I mean, I would skew the results using my pet dog’s dna or something. that way, they think I’m a slave, when I’m really not; thus, fighting the system the only way a prole can [and it is good in my opinion to know one's place].

    7. roaddog Says:

They’ve been doing different versions of this for years.

Go back to sleep AmerKKKa. We will call you when your coffins are ready.

Commendable #7, I’m a DBA for a living, and there’s nothing I hate more than corrupted or dirty data.

If you can’t fight the data being logged in the first place, then break the data. Hey, they never specified what SPECIES of newborn, puppies should be logged too right?

Anyone else suspect that workplace “drug testing” is a cover for collecting DNA samples?

    13. IBSammyG Says:

As a parent of a child who has a one of a kind genetic problem I can tell you this government has gone from neo-con to just plain NAZI. There is no other reason for what this is, they are identifying the defects in the gene pool then they are going to “clean” the pool. NAZI SATANIC MURDERERS!
I had my wife watch the movie GATTACA from 1997 to understand government gene screening, but I didn’t think it would happen this fast.

    14. frankthetank Says:

birth your children at home, later have em read 1984

    15. Dody Says:

I hope I can birth at home. I am about 5 months a long. I know now I must breast feed because of the FDA’s melamine ruling. What will happen if they get this information. Will they manipulate dna, will they kill of the “defective” ones (those that are defiant, will they kill off the “impure” ones?

There is a way not to be involved in this nonsense. just go to http://www.notmygovernment.us There you can deprogram yourself. Then you may be able to find out not to be subject to the law of “Persons”.

I can only show you the door of truth, you have to be the one that walks through the door.

Hey Mark, it doesn’t do any good replying to Sense. He is not interested in debate. He posts this exact excerpt from his website on every single link here and on the Prisonplanet site. Never, unless by luck, does the post have any relevance to the subject matter. He’s a parasite trying to use these websites to get hits on his own. Merry Christmas to you, brother.

      Congress gets a raise.
      Bankers get bonuses.
      We get nothing.
Why are we not doing anything about this?

    20. Leeeeeroy Says:

I hope they store the DNA in the old shelter in West Virginia so its exactly like the X files.

    21. yellowhak1 Says:

#4 maybe engineer a virus to accommodate your dna.

    22. newworlddisorder Says:

You know what’s really scary? I read a book that was almost exactly like this. It’s called the bar code tattoo by suzanne weyn. It may look like just another teen fiction book, but don’t let the cover fool you. Read it. It’s about a teenage girl named kayla who has to escape a worldwide corporation called Global-1 that has put out a law that requires every citizen to get a bar code tattoo that they can buy things with. Every person’s genetic code is in the bar code. Everything’s good and fine at first, but then some people’s codes aren’t being able to buy stuff. Kayla finds out that it’s because the government wants everyone who isn’t healthy to die. The freaky thing is, this book was written in 2004, when we didn’t know a lot of stuff about this. It’s set in 2025, but now everything’s starting to happen now, in 2008/2009. This book really opened my eyes to what’s going on.

    23. WakeUp Says:

Hey Wide Awake, I’ll go you one better:
      Congress gats a raise.
      Bankers get bonuses.
      We pay for it.

    24. ven Says:

well if I ever have kids not that I would want to bring one into this mess I would do a home birth… I was born at home and came out just fine… mostly :)

    25. Tim(Iowa) Says:

Shannon- Nothing is sacred anymore with these people. They want to pry right into everything. Now even our DNA. Next they will be telling people they have a right to destroy a baby because of some genetic defect(Made up off course or because of a food additive that will show a positive or vaccines).Or?
Because food is in short supply or some other made up crisis.
Everything and anything can be made to seem, “REASONABLE”.
Hitler thought it was reasonable to kill many people as did Stalin, mao, etc.
      All using the reasonable thingy.

    26. Tim(Iowa) Says:

      Sense– That’s Crap!

      John Adams and John Hancock:
We Recognize No Sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus! [April 18, 1775]

      John Adams:
“ The general principles upon which the Fathers achieved independence were the general principals of Christianity… I will avow that I believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.”
      • “[July 4th] ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.”
–John Adams in a letter written to Abigail on the day the Declaration was approved by Congress

      Samuel Adams
” Let divines and philosophers, statesmen and patriots, unite their endeavors to renovate the age by impressing the minds of men with the importance of educating their little boys and girls, inculcating in the minds of youth the fear and love of the Deity… and leading them in the study and practice of the exalted virtues of the Christian system.” [October 4, 1790]

      Patrick Henry
“It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason, peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.” [May 1765 Speech to the House of Burgesses]

    27. Casual Observer Says:

a PLANNED SOCIETY THROUGH THOROUGH SCREENING FOR FUTURE CIVILIZATION CAREFULLY PPLANNED BY EUGINICS.

    28. Bridget Says:

Another thought: what if the rich and powerful almighty Illuminatti are useing a DNA database for collecting and harvesting organs, blood and cells matched to THEM to help keep THEM alive and kicking whle the sheeple blindly watch tv and pay taxes to the corrupt who want us dead? Kinda has a Soylent Green twinge to it. Ewww! If there’s one thing I’m learning is that ANYTHING is possible and I wouldn’t put anything passed these wicked greedy creatures.

    29. Rey Says:

This is bull! CODIS (Combined DNA Indexing Service) was the first national DNA database, and has failed in its initial intent. So, are we to believe that this new bill is to save children? PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!!

    30. Watch out Says:

I just read all the comments and not one of yous said anything about the OTHER REASON for this DNA sampling. CSI uses it all the time when a murder is committed, So in 15 to 30 years from now when all the products of our environment come of age and start doing what comes natural, they can at least know who did it. Right, and if you believe this i have some prime Ocean front property in Arizona for sale, cheap.

    31. radioilluminati.com Says:

They are already doing this in my country. Nazi Denmark. 1/3 of the public is in the DNA bank and they don’t care about it.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

    32. .dj.o.r.b. Says:

Yo, fret not !!! I’m sure that if you ask boy bush, or obama bin laden, for your dna back,
you’ll recieve, it with 1 gold coin, for your inconvienience, LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Crimbo to EACH and EVERYONE, ho ho ho :)

    33. J Says:

Am I the only concerned about them cloning people? It seems to me like this would make it 99% easier. They would be able to clone your kids, brainwash them, and get them to do what ever they want. I’m thinking about moving to the North Pole where I can have some kind of freedom/peace

    34. mencia Says:

ah one final F$*% you from puppet bush and the Illuminati

    35. SoldierforTruth Says:

Yes, and the other reasoning for this will be to weed out the contaminated less perfect humans from the more desireable ones!!

    36. k Says:

This will make cloning experimentation easier, but it also becomes a bank for experimental companies who investigate diseases, and create diseases for target populations. One’s DNA is very valuable, don’t give it out to anyone. Pharmaceutical companies, Cancer, and other disease research companies, infertility research companies benefit from such a data bank. Don’t be fooled into thinking they are doing this for disease detection, or protection. How many times has the medical community lied to the public?

Think how many times they’ve mass murdered a targeted group: the blacks, the native North Americans, the mentally disabled? the insane in insane asylums, and modern group homes, and the Eskimos, the poor group, orphans, the elderly in hospitals, war veterans of Pearl Harbor, Gulf War, WWII, Iraq war. The UN, WHO, and other gvt. bodies that “HELP” out third world countries during famines have created more disease, malnourishment, and suffering because they have handed out breast baby formula, Genetically Modified seeds, inferior drugs, experimental vaccines, and the list goes on.

    37. Peaceful Warrior Says:

Efficient Eugenics at work for you!

    38. Chrissy Says:

If any of you have read the book Next by Michael Crichton and made note of his author’s notes regarding his research about this subject, you would be startled to see where this will take society and to some extent already has. From selling your DNA to pharmaceutical companies to using it for biochemical testing, it is an unsettling thought to think of the dames this will have on the world.

    39. DNA PRIVACY PRODUCTS Says:

they probably use it to creat smark bugs

    40. Speechstudent Says:

you know, they can’t use your DNA for anything without signed written consent or reimbursing you for it. i personally don’t see the problem here. this databank will help catch criminals, not weed out undesirables in the population. also they can’t kill your babies. they take DNA after birth its not like ABORTION. this would actually be helpful because they could tell you from day one if your child has some sort of defect and what effects it can have on their life. The government isn’t all about world domination or a country of perfect people. don’t get me wrong i think the government’s screwy but they can’t exactly do anything major like killing off thousands of people because of defects in DNA. After all, China is about to over take us as the no. 1 country in the world. our economy’s in the drain. If they wanted to make america perfect, they’d deport all the illegal immigrants!
