Polls show that the overwhelming majority of Americans believe that our country is going in the wrong direction. That the Iraq war was a mistake. And polls show that the majority of Americans questions the government’s version of 9/11 and other basic tenets of the "war on terror".
So why aren’t people doing anything to fix things?
It is largely because people are hopeless . . . they don’t think there is anything they can do to turn things around and improve our situation. Also, many people believe that they should just "lay low" until things get better, and that the only thing that standing up will accomplish is getting whacked in the head.
Apparently, it is not only ordinary Americans who believe they are powerless. Members of Congress also apparently believe they are powerless. See this and this.
Is Laying Low the Safest Path?
You find a black widow spider in your garage. You are afraid of it, so you decide to stay out of the garage and park your car out front. You hope that if you ignore it, it will go back outside and leave you alone.
Smart decision?
Not if it raises a family, and not if they move into the main part
of your house. By ignoring the small threat (one spider), you might
soon have a much bigger threat: a whole bunch of black widow spiders
infesting your house.
This is where the expression “kill the monster while its small” comes
from. Its a lot easier to face something scary in the early stages
than when it has really gotten out of hand. (And this is why Neville
Chamberlain is detested for trying to appease Hitler).
Similarly, the wanna-be fascists are consolidating their power and their
ability to impose overt martial law and imprison dissenters. Indeed, they are apparently working on new ways to instill the sense of helplessness in people. They may also very well use bigger
and more deadly forms of fake terror in order to justify their agenda.
In the meantime, they are destroying the economy, America’s reputation in the world, and our way of life.
So “laying low” and pulling a Neville Chamberlain instead of killing the monster while its small will backfire . . . it will make things much worse than taking action now.
And if you think that bad things will only happen to “someone else”, you’re wrong. Remember that “lawyers and professors, publishers and journalists, gun owners, illegal aliens, foreign nationals, and a great many other harmless, average people” may be imprisoned if the Neocons institute martial law.
The only safety is in standing up and stopping the madmen before they escalate their unConstitutional actions. The only safety is in
massive action.
Why Doesn’t the Elephant Stomp the Mouse?
See if you can find the humor in this situation:
That’s like an elephant being afraid of a mouse. The elephant is many times bigger and stronger than the mouse, but it acts like the mouse is a mortal danger.
Believing that we — the elephant — are threatened by the mouse, and that there is nothing we can do about it, is false logic. The mouse– the handful of Neocons who have taken over our country — has somehow hypnotized and convinced the giant American public that it is bigger than we are.
In reality, the American people outnumber the anti-American Neocons by many millions to one. If we want, we can simply throw the bums out, and throw them in jail for their crimes. If Congress wants, it can impeach them, hold them in contempt, and throw them in jail. They serve at our pleasure, and if they are acting in a manner treasonous to our country and the people’s interest, we should evict them.
True, they may have their finger on the button of a whole lot of weapons. But they can’t use them on millions of American citizens. For example, with all of the big toys in the world, they couldn’t do anything if we stand up for our rights.
We need only to wake up from the dream that we are powerless. See this,
this,
this and this.
Note: Please do not mistake my “kill the monster” or spider analogies as advocating violence. I do not advocate violence. Moreover, I am not advocating the overthrow of the government. I am calling for a RETURN to the American, Constitutional form of government and the rule of law, and removal of individuals who are traitors to the Constitution and the best interests of the nation, no matter how high and mighty they may be.

Congress makes me especially anger. They need to examine the very simple evidence of controlled demolition, in the 9/11 Truth Community. THEN ALL FOREIGN POLICY, INCLUDING INVADING IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN BECOMES OVERWHELMINGLY RETARTED!!!!!!!!!
May 29th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
Logic Test
1) If ‘controlled demolition’ was used in the 9/11 event.
2) If ‘controlled demolition’ was kept secret and falsely rejected by our state representatives and media.
3) If controlled demolition drastically increases the probability the Al-Qaeda did not have resources to carry out 9/11 (i.e. Afghanistan is a third-world country)
4) Then……we should not fight in Iraq and we should not fight in Afghanistan and we should not assume terrorist adversaries are real–in the criminal sense terrorists are so insignificant that it overwhelms my psychee–what i’m trying to say that my brain is melting–why is this so confusing for people to get a grasp on?
May 29th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
Very true Richard!
Once we know without ANY doubt that the WTC’s were a controlled demolition carry out by CDI, then we can begin to understand everything that this administration has done since day one. We can then know that these criminals rigged the election through Diebold and ES&S, staged every aspect of terrorism and war, bankrupted our real estate for generations to come, health and military budgets gone, drugged and poisoned our children through corporate pharmacuetical, ignored our citizens for racial hatred reasons, extended tax breaks to the filthy rich and powerful, imprisoned minorities for minor offenses at a world record pace, used threats to coerce media and US business to play criminal hardball wether telecom or NBC, had FOX Murdoch run bogus stories based on lies and deception from John Mark Karr to destroying and changing laws of broadcast like the ones of Aker and Wilson, destroyed all moral within our military and government agencies, awarded no bid contracts to friends that produced zero products, stacked our leadership and legal system with Christian zealouts, and the worst of all…….they will simply leave in a few months and NOTHING will ever happen to them. Like Bush says…”its up to history to decide”. With the people he has left in power it will take decades to remove them all. To answer your points Richard…..once we know that the whole terrorism game was a conspired and orchestrated lie like thousands of other lies orchestrated and told by this administration, then everything we have come to believe about our government leaders and our own country has been a lie. The time to heal is at hand. That is the greatest threat to these criminals….the fact that Americans can heal and overcome rather than rise up and take to the streets where we could be arrested or shot.
May 29th, 2008 at 5:22 pm
We already know.
Nothing you can do about till dumbo and his lackies leave office.
May 29th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
Don’t fear our keeper. The best tactic to make certain we do not end up with an administration this….’special’….again would be making civics a basic component of public education.
On second thought who the hell wants an educated populace, they are going to ask for like rights and rules or laws and stuff.

Why doesn’t the Elephant stomp the mouse? Because the Mouse is the AIPAC /Israeli lobby and it has the Elephant by the balls! The Federal Reserve Board, the mainstream media, the Pentagon, the NSA, CIA, FBI, IRS, IMF, medical industrial complex, all controlled by Israeli duel citizens like Homeland Security head Michael Chertoff.
911 has Mossad’s fingerprints all over it, and now we are fighting Israel’s wars in Iraq and maybe Iran too. We are controlled by a very powerful AIPAC lobby, and the are trashing the US. We are prisoners to them, face it. We can shale them loose and then stamp them if we wake up and recognize just what is going in here. Until then —more pain.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:35 am
The Elephant is afraid of the mouse because he knows the mouse has an ace in the hole – CIA assassins.
May 30th, 2008 at 5:34 am
ok, well, but the mouse has nuclear weapons and the freaking mass media.
But still- it’s important not to be afraid, i agree.
The best thing is to boldly speak out against military power, the empire, unbelievable military spending and corruption while at the same time – homelessness on the streets of America.
I just looked at a graph of military spending of the U.S. empire compared to other nations- astonishing.
http://de.wikipedia.org/w/inde.....1129155245
That was 3 years ago, the military budget is about 600 billion now- maybe a trillion if you look at it from another point. On September 10th, 2001, the Pentagon announced 2,1 *trillion* unaccounted for. This is just an unbelievable orruption.
I just looked at the international corruption figures and corruption is defined by the amount a country spends on military ‘defense’ and the inflation rate, amonbg other points.
Where is this country going? Imagine you would spend all this money on racial issues, schools and universities for everyone, health care, the environment…
Instead the money is *wasted* on bombs, death, destruction…
*Anyway* let’s be positive and tell everyone about this stuff!
May 30th, 2008 at 10:10 am
I do have to admit…I have been waiting for the entire Bush administration to die off. However, I realize that’s just wishful thinking.
This article is very true. Why are we so afraid of the little mouse? Probably because their eating all the cheese.
May 30th, 2008 at 11:10 am
The elephant versus the mouse is really a faulty analogy…elephant implies a united, single body and mouse implies a small, harmless enemy. This is simply not true. The mouse in question is actually a legion of mice, willing to go to any lengths, overstep any ethical bounds, willing to commit the most unspeakable crimes in the earth’s history. Mice are timid and weak. The lab rats we’re up against are ruthless black holes that destroy all light around them. I’m not saying fear is the answer, nor that we shouldn’t be united…but we aren’t, and won’t be anytime soon. Look around you. Most people, regardless of whether or not they believe we’re heading in the wrong direction, couldn’t give less of a shit about doing anything. They just aren’t interested. Many of those who are think that “voting” in some other handpicked criminal will fix everything. I’m not advocating insurrection, because it is illegal to do so, but through what other method or action we will ever be free again, I simply cannot say.
I am not a violent person, and believe that violence is repugnant, even when necessary. I would resort to it only to defend myself or someone else, in every other circumstance, I would consider only peaceful actions. However, the opposition is not host to such feelings. To them, beliefs that do not revolve around mendacity, avarice, and ruthless domination are a sign of weakness, and I honestly believe that they find peace as repugnant as I find violence. Infowars has touched on this subject before, the Neocons and global elite are genuine psychopaths, they are gripped by a powerful mental illness.
As such, with my limited intelligence, I can only see one way to solve this problem. We can protest our way right into concentration camps, we can scream all we like about rights and grievances as the shackles are applied, if the past ten years haven’t shown you what the government and law enforcement thinks of protesters and constitutional rights, then you will soon see some very shocking things unfold. If protests won’t work, then how about civil disobedience?
Well, that’s a good way to get tazed, arrested, and possibly disappeared (although this might raise suspicion, when a good old fashioned beating and long list of cooked-up felony charges does the job quite nicely), but one thing you’ll probably notice is how few people join you. And how few care. And how many will cheer and laugh as you are being abused by the police. Civil disobedience will not work without the participation of hundreds of thousands of people at once. Good luck with that.
So…what else is there? I’m not sure, but whatever it is, it is likely to be very unpleasant, and we had all start preparing ourselves for the worst scenario, not the flight of fancy that is doomed to fail.
May 30th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
Well put nihil. Curious as to what idea you had in mind for a “worst scenario”
The American people are like cattle in a slaughterhouse.
Numbed by crap TV, drugs and alcohol, videogames , government/big money controlled news and the need to work 2 jobs sometimes just to pay high bills. People are conditioned to be too distracted, ignorant and exhausted to do anything about their fate. Voting won’t help anymore and I’m sure Obama is on someones hitlist.
May 30th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Not all of us are sleeping…
May 30th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
#12 – That’s a good question, since basically every scenario guarantees suffering, hardship, and bloody sacrifice. I fear for my family the most. I guess the worst scenario I could imagine is slavery, total acquiescence, the destruction of liberty and an overwhelming victory for the wealthy elite. In such a world, I think for most of us the only choice would be death, whether by our own hand or while fighting against forces that we will never succeed against. I think we should be prepared for such an outcome, at least emotionally, as much as possible. Clinging on to false hope is worse than hopelessness, perhaps not for the bearer of hope, but for everyone else.
I guess I am a pessimist – I expect the worst, always. What others call cynicism (overused adjective) I call realism.
May 30th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
It is always darkest before the dawn. Truth is eternal….a peaceful revoulution will work. I found it works best when you stop worrying about how “awake” others are, and spend time improving yourself. Set an example wherever you go for the beliefs you have. Change starts with each and every one of us. Walk the walk, and talk the talk….that’s all it takes to move the sheeple into critical mass.
May 31st, 2008 at 12:15 am
we need to cordinate a large scale protest in washington, millions of people before owr own soilders are in our cities patroling the streets seting a curfew these americans will be drunk too just like its citizens only they’ll have fully automatic machine guns and ultimately be oppressing there own citizens due to there masters power lust trickles down its ranks like shit rolling down hill, as the elite pull there stings they will in turn pull ours.

“So…what else is there? I’m not sure, but whatever it is, it is likely to be very unpleasant, and we had all start preparing ourselves for the worst scenario, not the flight of fancy that is doomed to fail.” –nihil.
As you see, this is not the time to give up your gun. 200 million guns suggest there may be some measure of protection available. “Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” –Thomas Jefferson, quoting Cesare Beccaria
In the meanwhile, let’s keep spreading the truth! I see people waking up everyday, as the article suggest, they aren’t ready to take action to the extent that the rouge government is eroding our rights. Nevertheless, people will react when some key event shakes their world, such as a loved one being hurt. “The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.” –Thomas Jefferson.

See the “Matrix” as a metaphor for glorified slavery or serfdom. CIA = gestapo. The German people couldn’t stop the march of fascism how can the Americans? True we have the internet but there are plans to shut that down.
May 31st, 2008 at 12:24 pm
Everything the government does is predicated on the use of overwhelming violence. None of the laws referenced in this article are constitutional – much less “extra constitutional.” They are unconstitutional, treasonous, illegal and criminal. Can you say traitors? How are we supposed to rise up and take down these criminals when the whole system, the government, corporations and the genocidal media are interlocked in the greatest organized criminal enterprise in the history of the world. Do you think you are going to have a sit-in on the railroad tracks and non-violently stop these nazis? You will achieve nothing other than a rifle but in the face – thrown into the cattle car while you’re choking on your teeth and singled out for “special treatment” once you arrive at the death camp. With numbers in the millions it is not just tyranny that we face but a genocidal machine. When they declare martial law we should all lock and load across the country and stand out on our front porches and tell them – this far and no farther or suffer the consequences. The Concord and Lexington green is your own front lawn. Those of us who have been active in the patriot movement are the vanguard of liberty – there are no others. The mantle of liberty and constitutional government has now returned to the Sovereign Citizens. The government has already been overthrown by criminal traitors and we must take it back or suffer permanent enslavement. When a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is thier right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government and to provide new Guards for their future security. We must all learn how to think like free men and women – Sovereign Citizens and not like the cringing delusional slaves. The gauntlet is before us; is it by the consent of the governed or by the tyranny of the executive? I, for one, will not be forced at gunpoint to become a traitor like the ones who are trying to impose this tyranny on us. Liberty or Death!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a well written article and makes an excellent point in the analogy of the elephant and the mouse. Please include specific things for people to do in order to “stand up to the mouse” such as talk about issues with their neighbors, vote, write their congressmen and demand impeachment now–find out how every congressman votes and start petitions to get rid of the ones who will not stand up to the mouse. You have a forum here which is visited by many people. Provide them with concrete ideas and ways to implement these ideas.

First they came for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up, because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me. by Rev. Martin Niemoller, 1945

I agree with posts 3, 7, 9, 11, & 18.
The problem with post 21 is the USA
has abundances of mass destruction
weapons that have no historical way
to imagine being at risk in any kind
of second revolution or civil war …
Baby boomers are the first generation
that grew up with atomic weapons …
They have only be used twice, so far.
Weapons that are billions and trillions
of times more powerful than rifles, or
anything else that were employed
in any previous wars, and/or any
previous revolutions / civil wars,
are NOT possible to imagine!!!
The Neocons gained power within
the global fascist plutocracies …
They gained power because they
ARE the best at being dishonest,
and backing it up with violence.
There are deeper problems here!
Everything goes down its own
path of least resistance, and
in human terms, that means
the path of least morality.
Organizing effective resistance
must be based on unitary ways
of having better systems of lies
and better systems of coercions.
Impossible “ideals” make their
opposite happen in real world.
Truth, justice, freedom, and democracy
are nothing but transcendental poetry.
What really exists are dishonesty and
violence serving systems of frauds &
robberies, and Everyone must live
in a system of organized robbery.
There is no way backwards to make
real the bullshit in the constitution.
The way forwards is to develop a
political science that is consistent
with physics and biology, which is
difficult because we must embrace
the paradoxical nature of political
“science” that itself discovers all
societies are controlled by lies.
The good things about the constitution
were the division of powers, and their
check and balances, but those things
have gradually been eroded by the
funding of the political processes.
Americans were mis-educated to
forget what the founding fathers
knew, from their own revolution:
ALL governments ARE, and MUST BE,
the best organized gangs of criminals.
It is when people forget that social fact
that they allow the professional liars &
immaculate hypocrites to take control.
False fundamental dichotomies between
ideas: truth & lies, or rights & robberies,
are those old-fashioned ways of thinking
that are the real source of our problems.
Neocons devolved from the old-fashioned
systems of death control and debt control.
We need new systems of death control &
democratizations of death controls are
only realistic ways to cope with the
power of post-modernizing science.
However, there appears to be NO way
to get to there, other than after
some collapsing into chaos …
Most of the opposition fails to be significant.
IF the opposition began to be significant,
then that would precipitate more collapse.
There is a HUGE contradiction growing
between the success of modern science
and the triumph of the old social reality
controlled by its huge lies and coercions.
Nobody has a clue how to have a
real, radical, revolution inside of
a society with mass destruction
weapons that are billions and
trillions of time bigger than
anything before in history.
The USA is locked into the psychotic
spiral of being controlled by lies that
were backed up with violence, which
kept the lies getting bigger & bigger,
and thus getting further and further
away from reality. But, radical truth
includes embracing the paradoxical
ways society IS controlled by lies.
The real, radical, revolution should be
in the ways we think about governing.
I think going back to your old Constitution
is practically impossible, thus the only way
forwards is to go through collapse & chaos,
to then maybe create a new Constitution.
The Neocons represent their triumph of
lies & coercions spinning out of control.
I think we can hope that energy WILL
find a way to be conserved, through
non-linear functions, and therefore
human ecology will evolve more.
However, we could not prevent that
happening by energy always going
down its path of least resistance.
If the “Elephant” stands up against
the “Mice,” that will trigger things
to transform, in ways that none
can predict will eventually be.
There is nothing in history to
give us guidance about what
happens when the bullies’
bluff is called, after the
bullies’ bullshit bluff is
based on weapons
billions of times
more powerful.

First of all what did J Edgar Hoover say concerning conpiracy?
‘If a conpiracy was so big then no one would believe it. ”
Secondly what did the Prophet Nostradamus say? “In the year 1999 and 7 months from the sky shall come the KING OF TERROR.
Now how does that connect with anyone ? Well here’s how. G W BUSH announced he was running for President that same exact year and month.
Jesus is the PRINCE OF PEACE and GW BUSH is the KING OF TERROR see the opposites. The opposing forces.
