The Poster Revolution: Infowars Launches New Contest

Infowars is launching a new political poster contest following the viral success of the Obama Joker poster campaign.
The posters can be related to any subject you like, whether it be the swine flu vaccine, fluoride in the water, police brutality, genetically modified food, or the man-made global warming hoax. Pick any issue you like, make a poster and then film yourself posting it in public and upload the video to You Tube or similar websites.
Posters should be posted in public commons where other fliers, public announcements, handbills, etc., are posted. Please do not post on federal or private property as this will be considered vandalism and will be counterproductive and diminish the message of the poster.
The poster must include “Infowars” or “Prison Planet” somewhere on the design.
Prizes will be given to first, second and third place winners. The most dynamic, hard-hitting and artistic entries will take the prizes.
Contest winner prizes:
First Place: $1000
Second Place: $500
Third Place: $200
Send your poster artwork to contest@infowars.com or post it on the web and send us the address. The contest runs for two weeks, from Friday, August 21, until Friday, September 4, 2009.

BUT
I hate to say it: all three of those guys broke the rules. Posting on banks, street signs and mailboxes is way, way extreme. Robert Wanek did the best job staying as close to the rules as possible but even he broke em by sticking it onto the back of somebody’s car (private property)

Its wheat paste, you should be able to find how to make it if you google and also look for stencil or graffiti, and you don’t have to use color copies, you can make black and white signs and then just do a quick coloring job with a marker or even a crayon. Also people please think about doing signs such as Ron Paul was Right or RP 2012, or promoting Rand Paul or one of the other liberty candidates.

Also, I’d like to comment that placement (along with message) is key with any piece of capturing graffiti or street art. Shepard Fairey knew how to operate before cashing into the Obamania Movement. Posting bills excessively and tastelessly would be what is known as “toy” in the graffiti art world and will only serve to discredit your statement. He has been noted on this site before, but anyone who is looking for some good examples of ‘propagandized’ street art should check out the british artist Banksy. Post well and post wise!

He is not very respected in the art community. He actually has a team of artists and is very corporate. He does art for big corporations and uses imagery “borrowed” from various other posters, even Nazi and Communist propaganda, and then just adds his logo onto it.

I never liked or bought into his “Obey” junk either. Basically all his imagery is lifted off of Google Images anyway. All his campaign equated to in the end was selling stylized expensive T-shirts to hipsters. What I was trying to say is that he knew how to spread his image illegally via walls even though he eventually corporatized its potential to peddle his brand to trendy people.

I’m aware of forum-structured websites like Prison Planet, however, I think its important to mantain approachable online image to John Q. Public. Many people will hear you citing websites like “Prison Planet” and “Infowars” and write it off immediately because of the hostile ring insinuated through their names. The gaudy display of Ads is reminiscent of late 90’s Geocities style website and gives it a B-Level appearance. Why not follow the design model (not content model) of mainstream news sites? People approach what the are comfortable with and a slightly toned-down and milder image (not content) will encourage people like me and many others to link this site to the less “radical” and so-called “sane” people.

According to Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink: Irving Janis, who did extensive work on the subject, defined ‘groupthink’ as: ‘A mode of thinking that people engage in when they are deeply involved in a cohesive in-group, when the members’ strivings for unanimity override their motivation to realistically appraise alternative courses of action.’
I think that describes pretty well the Obama as Joker poster contest fiasco, and the general course AJ and co. were on. Diet is important, but you have to watch salt, sugar and fat intake. Don’t take the vitamin b12 cyanocobalamin because its a b12 that has a cyanide molecule attached to it. There are two other b12’s that are good for you. And you probably know that cyanide attacks the heart, kidneys and eyes. Build up you immune system. Don’t eat microwave food. Don’t drink tap water if you can avoid it. Theres a lot more all of us need to do to protect ourselves, but this is a good start.

whats—- When you microwave food it kills all the nutrients and vitamins in the food. It kinda taste good, your full and its hot, but you might as well eat the cardboard box it came in. Don’t you people realize that putting up all these posters is just a bunch of free advertisement for Alex Jones. It does virtually nothing for the overall cause. In many senses it has the opposite effect. Most people think Alex Jones is a crackpot. The meaning of our President portrayed as the joker is completely lost on most people and the poster itself doesn’t give any valuable information. This garbage isn’t waking anybody up it just makes our environment even more polluted, creates confusion and diminishes any viable claims that we may have.
If you want to make a difference and be taken seriously this is definitely NOT the way to do it. Ive seen people running around painted up like the Joker screaming in a bullhorn at passing traffic. I ask you, who is going to take that seriously? Most people are superficial and accept things based on their package and presentation. If you have a psychotic package and an even more frightening presentation you and your message (no matter how important) will be deemed nonsense.
If you want to really make a difference, one that a flyer could never achieve, watch this video and learn how to hit the government where it will hurt the most…at the bank. If enough people did this, we could have the government on its knees.
