    Thomas F. Roeser
    Chicago Daily Observer
    November 5, 2008

It will have been said of us one day that we elected the president we richly deserve. The reason Barack Obama won was that his followers resent absolutes…hierarchical and authoritative. That goes particularly for authoritative religion which the Enlightened-mostly the media—despise. This is a secular state. The other day when Justice Scalia spoke and invoked God the media looked at themselves questioningly. Violation of church and state? Only the primitives go to authoritative churches like the benighted evangelicals or the one in four Catholics who attend weekly mass.

    • A d v e r t i s e m e n t

Oh, you CAN go to church (actually it’s good to hear about love-love-love and civil rights, as per the Rotary Club). But what the majority of Americans now hate…with a fury…is definite moral strictures on things. That smacks of primitive superstition. Where once this country was founded on bedrock Christianity with few exceptions…from the pilgrims to the abolitionist moralists… (Jefferson being the major dissenter)…our people now believe science has left agnosticism as the only respectable intellectual position. This is the unspoken credo of the media and the jocular late-night talk show hosts who are so very-very-very clever and cynical. They all imply: Freud, Marx and Darwin have triumphed over the believers.

We elected the president we deserve because he is cool. But also because he is black. That makes us feel good. Take a look at the slouching, grinning guitarist on the Moosejaw show (Jay Leno). Seeing him strum, seeing them defiant…seeing Obama trotting up the steps…makes us feel so tolerant, filled with a smarmy hypocritical version of brotherly love to replace morals. Obama’s church was involved in only two absolutes: hate whitey and where’s the largesse for us? But media have made us forget that. Now we all feel so good about ourselves-because of him.

    2. orly Says:

you are so wrong. We elected him because what he spoke about. And how he said it. If he was a white man or a yellow man i would have voted for him the same. He was the best of the two. Stop trying to say its a racial thing. Stop trying to divide us. As obama said, we are the UNITED states of america.

President George W. Bush and his corporate thieves will soon be leaving the White House. Dick Cheney’s Halliburton will lose influence. The Alberto Gonzales’s of the world will lose influence.

President Bush: “The Constitution is just a piece of shit.”
Barack Obama: Constitutional Scholar, Lawyer, and Teacher.

Let’s hope for a different type of politics to serve us in the future. Of course the internet is going to play an important role. But thank god we have hope and not some familiar face like Hillary Clinton or George Bush. Let’s work to make this an historic change.

We ultimately are responsible for the leadership and media we get. Be the change you want to see in the world.

    5. hopelesscynic Says:

      Shit comes in all hues

    6. Melissa Says:

I voted for the third party. I cannot believe how many stupid Americans vote for Republician or Democrate what is wrong with people just not looking into the third partys, to read and study instead of just voting! WAKE UP! Are people really this stupid!!!???!!! This is unbelievable! I too pray for the people and this country!

    8. Two-Party Puppets Says:

The Dem support of war funding and the bailout wasn’t enough to convince the masses it’s one party with two heads. They need to see a Democratic president hurt them, even though this one has already voted for what they are against.

Get people over to this site. Register with a third party. Maybe in two years, if we still can vote, we’ll see a change for the better.

    9. Aaron Thorne Says:

Did Americans elect Barack Obama b/c of his race? Perhaps how he spoke and what he spoke about? Maybe it was simply a need for HOPE in a time of economic breakdown. Or was it something as simple as a revolt against 8 years of President Bush and FAILED Republican policies?

Was there a backlash which helped form a situation where the election was Obamas…no matter what?

Will the RE-Election of Obama carry more truths about his approval and the progress of America?

George Bush ushered in a lot of Hitler’s bills to take away your rights, by producing 9/11 and using it as a pretext, just as Hitler burned down the Reightag(sp). Now Obama is going to collect his legion and start pushing us into chipping and making the white’s the new-Jews/terrorists, and the Builderberg Group has decreed.

    11. Raliko Says:

He is the figurative Christ who will absolve you of all of your white guilt sins if you voted for him.

    12. Seeds Says:

wow, this country was most definitely NOT founded upon christianity. this country was founded by secularists like Jefferson and Adams who understood the dogmatic grip of the church, and specifically outlawed the infusion of religion and government, get your facts straight. Stop trying to defend your religious beliefs because you know they are false anyway. You too mr. reporter are an atheist, you probably dont believe in the thousands of other gods claimed by countless other religions, but i just go one god further, this the future of our civilization, we will ultimately dismiss these triune gods as useless.

    15. Helena Says:

Where do you see Ron Paul??? I see former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker but thats it

    16. Brian Says:

I’m glad McCain didn’t win! I definately think our country needs to progress out of this conservative slump. War for oil, divisive politics, sneaky corruption, and all of Bush’s cronies need to step out of the way and stop trying to pull the wool over the country’s eyes. If Obama will stand his ground and not let Biden push through his agenda(Garden Plot, Operation Northwoods, FEMA camp enslavement and Law of the Sea Treaty) he might do a good job. I’ve supported his campaign since his Ethics Reform Speech last winter. Thomas Roeser obviously hasn’t heard Rev. Wright’s full sermon, and just like the mainstream media is taking quotes out of context. How can whites be upset with blacks who speak from their hearts about the frustration we’ve caused them by enslaving them for over 200 years (in America). I might hold a little resentment myself, if that were my people. Also, I believe there is an attitude with all of these Senators and Congressman that they believe they can get away with anything they please with absolutely no consequences! We need to reform the ethics in Washington and elect people that want to work for us. Stand up to the oppressors like Kucinich, Ron Paul, Jesse Ventura, and if Obama doesn’t do what he has been saying he’ll do it won’t take us long to figure it out, and he’ll get what’s coming to him. HOPE and CHANGE!!

    17. Lite Reading for "Red Dawn" Says:

Hey Don O if Obama taps Ron Paul all of the SHEEP on this board will do an about face so fast Alex will have to sell neck braces on his banner ads…Then it suddenly be Obama the good here in candyland…

      George Bush= Out the door
      Alex Jones=Out the door

They will both have to find legitimate work now..

    18. HebrewPatriot Says:

well spoke, i detect a little sarcasm, but i suppose that’ll get by the Obama Zombies.

Their ignorance of world history has doomed us to perhaps the darkest period in our history.

The elites are brilliant, they’ve managed to dupe these dimwits with a simple slogan in “yes, we can”.

I feel ripped off, he’s not my president, white or black. He’s a muslim, and he’s not even a citizen, and shouldn’t even be running, much less won the race.

      Yahweh help us all!

    19. VivaHST Says:

Blah blah blah God. I get so sick of the constant preaching on this site. At least this article admits he goes to church and isn’t trying to label him a Muslim. Wake up people, religion is the original control grid. It convinces people to go along with the flock instead of thinking for themselves.

As far as Marx and Freud goes, their ideas are winning not because they are perfect. They are far from perfect but come from a sounder logic than some Bronze Age Jewish fairytales. People should stop trying to combat Marxism ect. with ignorant scriptures. Combat it instead with better logic that goes along with human behavior like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

    20. roberto Says:

dont trust any govt leaders, none..including ron paul, do not trust any of them

they are all corrupt, obama is the beginning of the end

    21. Jester Says:

Why are people on this site who support Obama? It shows you don’t read any of the articles, watch any videos or listen to any audio. You’re ignorant.

    22. WEREFEAT Says:

Well I see that the Mexican government ruled out foul play in the plane crash that killed the top two anti-drug officials today. Hrumpf! Remember the lengthy list of accidental deaths during Clinton’s regime?

      Let the counting begin!

    23. Mike Says:

Dooms Day has come.. hop this Anti Christ dose his job Because the others 2,500 where a real let downs.

    24. kwitcherbychin Says:

I went to bed last night with a heavy heart. This morning I awoke with no feelings on the matter what-so-ever. I am not a religeous person, I am however spiritual. I do not live to spread “the word”, and cram scripture down people’s throats……BUT…… I have a question for you today. Ever since I woke up this morning I can’t stop thinking about God, and find it very strange as I do not do this. Has anyone else on here been feeling this way today??

This is not intended for those of you who live your lives thinking about God with every breath you take, or are on here on a regular basis talking your talk and quoting your scriptures and just being so obnoxious that people skip over your posts, it is intended for the rest of you who usually have intelligent things to say, and post your real concerns.

    25. nickels Says:

wait let me get this straight… you hate this sight but you keep coming here to read? What a lame and boring life you lead. I dont care one little bit that Obama made it. I think its kinda cool we have a black prez now, but… Im not fucking tard head and im not gonna get all American Idol about it. Fucking DOUCHE

    26. Titan Says:

    28. Peter Says:

      GOOD GOD!

What a narrow-minded, sarcastic, hate-promoting view expressed here in this article. NOTHING in this article about the beauty and historical significance of someone other than a white male being able to ascend to the office of president. Instead, sly sarcastic underhanded “praise,” and promotion of division, hate, and fear.

It´s really sad to see such fear and hatred promoted through the INFOWARS website, and how people sign onto it and say things like “dimwits” when in fact it is dimwitty to call Obama a Muslim and to express a lot of the other ignorant things expressed here. Even if he is a Muslim, which he isn´t, so what? There are sick minded extremists in all religions, but that doesn´t make the believers of any particular religion EVIL. Let´s put it this way: What is more important, being right or doing good?

I do believe all religions are psychological projections of inner psyches, so in this sense we could make the argument that all people who assume their religion is the one true religion are just self-delusional, self-serving, and in these ways unhealthy psychologically. But there are plenty of good people who believe delusional things. Like AXE deodorant will get you laid.

Yes, most religion is indeed “primitive superstition.” Sorry, but it´s true. And obviously so. Alex Jones talks highly of George Carlin, and Carlin talked about how it is ridiculous for human beings to believe in an invisible man who lives in the sky and watches over everything we do and has a list of 10 things he wants us to do, and if we violate any of these 10 things he will send us to a place of burning torturous Hell where we will suffer for all of Eternity… but he loves us. Believing in that, or things like that, is just as absurd as believing in Santa Claus.

To take any other stance than Agnosticism is arrogant and ignorant because it ASSUMES a lot, and PRESUMES a lot.

Anyone who claims to know the mind of God is just delusional and self-serving.

To the people who believe they know such things I would say, “Who do you think you are to presume to know the mind and ways of God? Could you possibly be more arrogant?”

Tell me how many inches of rainfall there is annually in Washington State. Can you do that off the top of your head? I bet you can´t. So if you can´t even tell me how many inches of rain falls on Washington State every year, how can you possibly presume to know the mind of God? That´s not only arrogant, it´s anti-God. You would reduce God´s Creation to a simplified human mythological story of [ insert any religion here ] ? It´s just plain absurd. And dangerous.

This is where Alex Jones and religious folk who flock around INFOWARS just don´t seem to get it. At least from what I have observed thus far. CREATION IS A MYSTERY, not some children´s book fable or some simple equation. CREATION IS LARGELY UNKNOWN, not clearly or definitively defined in any way by human knowledge.

Do you honestly believe God created all of Creation, all of it´s mystery and complexity and unknown beauty, just to have it be reduced to the simple story of some invisible old man who lives in the sky? Ridiculous! Or, as Bill Maher nicely presents in his movie, it´s RELIGULOUS!

Someone once said, “Religion is a defense against the experience of God.” I would say that is right on target. And religion, any religion, is, in general, a divisive, damaging, ignorance-enhancing tool used by those in power to manipulate and control us. Doesn´t matter which religion, they are all used for these purposes.

As Joseph Campbell once said, “The god [or gods] you believe in is the god [or gods] you deserve.” The author of this article chooses to believe in the gods of hate and fear and ignorance.

If the author of this article, and those people who agree with him, would prefer to believe in a spooky incompetent father figure who doesn´t give a shit [that invisible old man in the sky] instead of an actual human being here on earth who is now the new President-Elect of this country, that´s fine. But don´t expect reasonable minded people to believe you have anything founded on “bedrock.”

Obama may turn out to be just as bad as all the other previous politicians before him. But to condemn him before he has even had a single day in office is not only immature partisanship, it´s dangerous and weak minded, exhibiting a heart full of fear and hate instead of love and hope.

Here´s a simple quiz to see where your mind is at. Is it…

      (a) God Bless America

      or…

      (b) God Bless The World (or all of Creation)

      …?

If you value (a) and not (b), may God save your soul. If you say (b) there´s still hope. And hope for this beautiful world we share.

Let´s stop this partisan bickering and political hysteria, stop focusing on being right, and instead focus on what good things we can accomplish together.

      Peace.

    29. Jeffrey Says:

Whatever happened to thinking that our Presidential candidates should be of good moral and ethical stock (or family heritage)? Geez, if any of us were trying to get an employment position with the government (that required any kind of clearance) they’d be all over scrutinizing our family histories and would ultimately disqualify us for the smallest of infractions, transgressions or whatever you wanna call them. Obama’s father was a “Mac-Daddy” and his mother was as a “Baby-Mamma”, so what kind of moral and ethical countenance was passed down to him? What does it really matter at the end of the day you ask?? Well, this nation is going to get the President and government that it deserves…and perhaps that speaks volumes as to why B.O. is going to be our 44th President.

    30. L Taylor Says:

I’m from Chicago… is this guy a joke or what?

We were not founded as a Christian nation.
Look it up people. You can be a Christian your faith is your own….don’t shove it down the throats of millions of non-Christians. Politics and Christianity…………oil and water. The founders were from all religions and understood that our form of government had to be all inclusive. The current religious right would have you believe otherwise.
Those of you still arguing about Obama being a muslim and not a citizen….get over it. No man could run for president of the most powerful nation and not be a citizen. Do you think Obama has that much power to keep his records from this technology where no information can hide? (Plus Hillary, as rabid as she is, would never that a tid bit like that get in the way of her winning the nomination. Think about it.) Unless of course it’s under executive priviledge displayed nicely over and over with Bush. Our country has nearly been destroyed under the worst presidency of destruction, greed, secrecy and lawlessness and people are worried about Obama? Bush has mastered socialism for the wealthy at our expense and no one is crying about this?

    31. Disinfowars Killa Says:

I agree #33!!! infowars needs to shutdown & start over… next time bring us the FACTS as they are… not how you want to spin them for mere entertainment & to sell there videos & books & web subscriptions! ALEX JONES, give it a rest, tell your staff who write these lame duck articles to give it a rest! The people want the truth, not the gang of fear mongers you have proven yourself to be!!!

    32. Jim Says:

Wtf is up with infowars lately, you’re supposed to be past the whole left/right crap.

This is pretty much Republican propaganda.

If it’s a criticism of people to say that they’re educated and questioning of dogmatic, absolutist thinking, then I don’t want to be praised.

    33. jeremy Says:

Stupid article. I don’t like Obama, but please what is this? Garbage.

    34. Sunray Breaker Says:

      Peter…

It’s so refreshing to know I’m not the only one on here not buying this creationist crap.

It seems there are so many christian nuts on here that turn to an ancient book to come up with their own opinions.

You hit the nail right on the head. The thing we forget the most is how much we actually “DO” know about creation.

We know through carbon dating and genetic blueprints, not only how old the world is, but what the earliest form of life was on our planet, how it began, how it evolved…

Look into the history channel’s amazing documentary “How the Earth Was Made”

I’m also very skeptical. Of both sides.

I support people like AJ and WAC. But I also support people like James Randi and Penn and Teller.

I think they both deserve an equal amount of our attention. And they both raise important questions.

I’m skeptical of Obama, but I have to admit, it is beautiful to see this finally happen in America, regardless of how it happened.

How dare any of us piss on a parade that over 200 years in the making.

      GoBama!!!!

    35. Casual Observer Says:

I fail to see the issue as racial. America has always gotten the president they deserve. Look how far we have progresssed. Matreially we can carry on war forever. Ethically we are as void as a vacuum. Yet we are content to allow the world around us to exist as it is. Live with it. We are all to blame.

    36. Thomas Says:

      Let the awakening begin.

    37. baxter666 Says:

Hey, DonO. I hear that Obama even claims to be an American. Check out this website. http://www.obamaishalfcracker.com PWNED.

    38. Elvis Says:

Bush was also the president yopu deserved.

But the point has been missed.

YOUR VOTE MEANS NOTHING. WAKE UP MORONS.

    39. DKS Says:

So whatever happen to those articles claiming that there was going to be an attack on U.S before the election? Or that martial law will postponed the election? Or George Bush was going to declare he was staying in office due to the war stricken times? O’ InfoWars how much you love a short memory? Sounds familiar? How about during the Y2K claims of a nuclear meltdown? O how much you would like us to forget.

I think its about time to take responsibility for all these false claims you put out there, making people paranoid and scared. Shame on you!

    40. IZSBHR Says:

      #33, Peter:

You are absolutely right. I follow my religion because it’s the one that works for me. I believe strongly in it, but I don’t think automatically that it’s definitely the right one. I also don’t think God would support war and hate. Nor do I think he would support Ron Paul, who’s claims show nothing but a primitive view of the Arab-Israeli conflict (”If it weren’t for me, [the Israelis and Palestinians] would not be making peace” – Ron Paul) and a racist view on Blacks (”If you live in DC, chances are you’ve been attacked by a black teenager… they should receive capital punishment”- Ron Paul). Let’s not forget who Alex Jones claims the Dems should have nominated… a man who looks (and makes speeches like) Hitler without a mustache.

No, Alex Jones is clearly racist. The ads which are on THIS site, I’ve clicked them. I’ve read hate speech towards Blacks, Jews, and Muslims on the sites he links to, but on this site, I’ve only heard it towards Jews.

    41. IZSBHR Says:

      #43:

My favorite was the “DNC anthrax false flag attack” and the “False flag fake-Russian attack” of 2000.

    42. Peter Says:

Sunray Breaker and DisinfoWars Killa and all the rest of you who are reasonable here and pointing out that INFOWARS is actually not beyond partisan stuff by any means, thanks. It´s not infoWARS, or shouldn´t be. It´s infoPEACE. It´s not PRISONplanet but FREEDOMplanet. What Alex Jones and INFOWARS is really truly about is revealed by the fact that Alex TALKS about being a good Christian but doesn´t follow it much. And he TALKS peace and love but in reality doesn´t exhibit much of that. He does have some true info he puts out, probably about 30%, maybe a little more, and that is valuable. But his motives are not the pure good of intention that he claims for himself by any means.

    43. Peter Says:

ALEX… if you truly love the USA as you CLAIM you do, stop promoting divisive, hateful ideas. We are our own self-fulfilling prophesies.

    44. Patrick Henry Says:

Hey Peter, Dono, and the rest of you intellectual superior &ucks. Shut the hell up with your rantings……….. I come on this site from time to time and I really don’t see anybody commenting to much on your anti God talk. No freakin right or wrong in your camp hey!! You guys wouldn’t know the truth if it hit you in the head. If you don’t like whats written on this site go have a beer at the gay bar FED BOY and decide what side of the &ucking fence your gonna be on

    45. Brian M. (Retired USN) Says:

Welcome to the United Socialist States of America….INTENSIFIED TIMES 3. I voted for Chuck. Best thing I ever did.

Maybe my vote does not matter, but at least I can live with my decision. More globalism on the way. I did my best to avert, but the masses are duped to promote a sock puppet.

    46. Lite Reading for "Red Dawn" Says:

Hey “Patrick Henry”…..Good of you to stop by…SO there is a fence…?????

What fence might that be oh enlightened one???

Let me guess you have bible codes too…

    47. Roy Johnson Says:

    48. The Ghost of Patrick Henry Says:

      AJ= Salesman

I wonder if AJ and GWB will go fishing together when W gets back to Texas?

    49. Washington Says:

      COGNITIVE DISSONANCE:

Cognitive dissonance is a psychological state that describes the uncomfortable feeling when a person begins to understand that something the person believes to be true is, in fact, not true. Cognitive dissonance is often associated with the tendency for people to resist information that they don’t want to think about, because if they did it would create uncomfort, and perhaps require them to act in ways that depart from their comfortable habits. They usually have at least partial awareness of the information, without having moved to full acceptance of it, and are thus in a state of denial about it. This “irrational inability to incorporate rational information” is perhaps the most common perception of cognitive dissonance.

Whom ever ( People, Governments, the Elites, Teachers or Parents) that want to take away or ridicule your freedom or chose of religion OR your personal life beliefs, and put those freedoms in jeopardy. They will some day feel that same persecution put apon them also. People needs to realize that ones someone or the masses starts taking away and controlling ones freedoms of the religion, thought of mind and heart. We all will be in DEEP trouble !!!
Eliminate one freedoms of expression and there is always another new one to VILIFY to be ridiculed until, one day YOUR beliefs and freedoms are under attack also…….. Think NOT ?
Then were will that leave YOU ? By present day popular thinking, Just another useless NOBODY cought in the matrics of the ” freedom ” control freeks. Jefferson was not really a dissenter. He was religious, as one can see in the Declaration of Independence. However he refers to God and Creator, not Christ or anything divisive. To #50 PATRICK HENRY:

It is clear you are angry and don’t care to listen or discuss anything. You insult and dismiss. And you dismiss me and others who have posted here as “intellectuals.”

So it’s clear that (a) you are angry, (b) are closed-minded because you insult instead of engage in thoughtful discussion, (c) don’t care to think too much because you attack anyone who cares to think as “intellectual.” So you have replaced thinking with simple insults?

These are things you are proud of?

That’s what people do when they have no solid argument.

#56 WASHINGTON… I was already clearly aware of the definition of Cognitive Dissonance. But to what were you applying it?

Clearly people’s inability to see 911 as an inside job is Cognitive Dissonance. That’s for sure.

    59. Loup Garou Says:

This was one of the few articles on the Alex Jones website that just came out of left field. The writer could have done much better and spared us the time wasted reading it.

    60. Peter Says:

HAVE ANY OF YOU READ ISSUES OF “NEWSWATCH MAGAZINE”?

I called and subscribed, because it’s free, and because I wanted to know what it is all about. David J. Smith, the editor of Newswatch Magazine, is on INFOWARS fairly often. I’ve heard him interviewed by Alex. That magazine is one of the most ignorant, racist, hate-promoting, primitively superstitious magazines I have seen in a long long time. Maybe the most I have ever seen. This confirms the comment made previous here (see above) about finding all kinds of racist stuff on the INFOWARS website, or on blogs related to it.

What amazes me and disturbs me is how people who claim to be deeply religious don’t actually live by the principles they profess to hold dear. No Catholic who lives by the principles of that religion should ever be racist or hate anyone — “love thy enemy,” remember? And besides all that, just take this basic simple idea and think about it: it is GOD’S job to judge people, not yours or mine or anyone else’s. It is GOD’S thing to judge people on “Judgment Day” and not the job of every day humans here on Earth. These two things show clearly why most religious people are hypocritical and focused on their own selfish interests.

Tell me, how many of these religious folks who make angry and insulting posts on INFOWARS actually follow the principles laid out in the Bible by Jesus? Here are a few, in case you have forgotten:

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES: Matt. 5:44; Matt. 26:52

FORGIVE IF YE HAVE OUT AGAINST ANY: Mark 11:25

LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU: John 15:12

      CONDEMN NOT: Luke 6:37

DO GOOD TO THEM WHICH HATE YOU: Luke 6:27-28

DO NOT JUDGE, OR YOU TOO WILL BE JUDGED. FOR IN THE SAME WAY YOU JUDGE OTHERS, YOU WILL BE JUDGED, AND WITH THE MEASURE YOU USE, IT WILL BE MEASURED TO YOU: Matthew 7:1-2

SO IN EVERYTHING, DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO TO YOU: Matthew 7:12

BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS, FOR THEY WILL BE CALLED SONS OF GOD: Matthew 5:9

BLESSED ARE THE MEEK, FOR THEY WILL INHERIT THE EARTH: Matthew 5:5

So, all you supposedly religious folk out there who insult people, spew hate, judge harshly, and condemn others… try to learn from those other religious folk who actually live up to the principles your religion professes — to love, be meek, make peace, do good, and love others.

      Peace!

I saw an Alex Jones video about how Obama was going to implement Sharia law after election. I This is scary! No more booze! But I don’t understand how this is consistent with this article talking about agnosticism?

    62. Patrick Henry Says:

One last post for the evening boys and girls. Seems like I have upset some of the Non Christian ladies posting today?? Well to bad! You girls are quoting scripture like a Baptist preacher (and quite fast I might add). Evil is really good at one thing and that is using the virtues of goodness against goodness. Should we turn the other cheek to the Hitlers of the world? No! Should we let tyrants enslave us? No! Should we just let evil triumph over good? No! Love your enemy while he is trying to slit your throat? Don’t think so! One last thing… THE FENCE!!!!, don’t worry to much about that fence because when all this stuff that Alex has been telling us about starts to go down most of you women will be hiding in your basements under the stairs. If you hear someone pounding on the door in the middle of the night just send your children up to answer it. And as they drag your kids away crying and screaming don’t forget to love and forgive your enemies!!! You know, God has a scripture for that type of situation Maybe you girls can ask St. Peter to look that up for you, he’s good at quoting scripture (and quite fast I might add). The answer to that is really gonna surprise ya!! You people come on this site and start bashing Christians like its open season on them and you think nobody’s going to defend them. Don’t think so!

    63. amfv Says:

You should love and forgive your enemy, that is the path of light. Do not hold hate in your heart, it will only make you evil just like the people you hate. Have faith that the lord will protect you, have faith in the balance of nature. Im not trying to convert you to christianity ( i am christian though) but these are virtues we all can believe in. If you really want to make any change it must be non-violent. If you attack them you will be an enemy combatant by definition, but if they attack you and you have done no harm to them then thier evil will be exposed. If we are really headed to the end of the world, then the evils that are happening now are foretold and unavoidable. We must suffer and keep love in our heart, for we have been promised peace. Do not give in, but do not give them a reason to kill you. Remember brothers and sisters
THE TRUTH SHALL ALWAYS REVEAL ITSELF AND THE LIGHT SHALL ALWAYS BE TRIUMPHANT.
      god bless you all.

    64. Peter Says:

      To #69 PATRICK HENRY:

Doesn’t matter what I think in terms of what you claim to believe. The point I was making is that right or wrong is not as simple as you make it out to be. You assume a lot.

Defending your children, standing up for good, doing what one can to prevent and stop the Hitler’s and Bush’s of this world from doing bad things, etc, is not contradictory to standing up for the principles of loving one’s enemies and doing good to them who hate you. In fact they overlap quite a bit, and one could easily argue are the essentially same thing.

It is a far different thing to be against violence, to do everything one can to uphold that belief in actions and deeds, than going all to the extreme of supporting evil, bad people or things in this world. If one is against violence, it doesn’t necessarily follow that force never necessary. If one is for loving thy enemies, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you will allow them to do anything they wish. Your reasoning is deeply flawed.

If I say I believe processed sugars are terribly unhealthy (which they are) does it necessarily follow that I’m against all sugars? Of course not. The healthy sugars found in natural fruits and vegetables are necessary and good.

If I say many religious people are hypocritical because they don’t live according to the principles they claim to believe in, does that mean all religious people are bad? Of course not. It’s the hypocrisy I object to.

Isn’t it possible that force (such as in defending one’s home or children or liberties) is different than the violence of bombing whole countries to get at a few terrorists?

Isn’t it possible that one can defend himself, the ones he loves, and the principles he believes in without violence?

Just look at what happened in Bolivia. The corporations there got so aggressive and oppressive that they even privatized the rain water; they people then peacefully took their country back, putting rocks in the roads, surrounding the government buildings with huge throngs of people. So there are infinite number of ways to do any given thing.

Essentially, you assume a lot. Including how you assume I’m upset, which I’m not. I’m simply making rational reasonable points. If you prefer to rant and not think about them, that’s your choice.

Look at your first post. You call me an “intellectual superior &uck” and tell me to “shut the hell up with your rantings” and tell me to “go have a beer at the gay bar.” Tell me how these comments and attitudes fit with your Christian principles of “condemn not” and “do not judge” and “blessed are the meek.”

Why are you so filled with hate when the principles of Christianity preach, again and again and again, the good values of love, peace, and compassion?

    65. WhiteRob Says:

We live in a multi-variet world. Many years of cultural interaction and now with technology and the internet, we are weakened. No one has come forth, except maybe Ayn Rand, to explain how all our histories and cultures and beliefs can be valid towards an ideal. When you are shut off from the world any system of morality will do. It is when you come in contact with other systems that questions are raised that challenge the importance or relevance of morality.

We float like styrofoam peanuts in a wind storm barely touching ground before we are picked up and dropped again. We have no foundation. We have no way to discern absolute rightiousness. We pretend that morals are fluid, ever changing, and only apply to the other guy. No one wants to “face the music” so they change the station.

I like what I hear about Jesus. I want to live like that. I want others to consider the message. I think it is OK to call me christian, simply because I want to emulate the character known as Christ.

I don’t care if the bible is BS. I don’t care if some other religion rejects the message. Fact is, the bible can’t be all BS or I would not resonate with it.

So, the thing all of us should ask ourselves is… Do we want a future for individual freedoms? Do we want to leave a world worth living in for our children? Is fighting with each other going to change the direction? Can we come together on anything?

Or will the luciferians get to win watching us destroy our godless selves.

At least one good thing I can see out of Obama winning. Maybe Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton will have to find new lines of work. Now that the Blacks finally have “hope” with the advent of their messiah they don’t need those two jackass clowns to cram down their throats the white man’s oppression. Serious, can I expect these two extortionists to go away now? And I’m serious in saying that I really don’t think either of them wanted Obama to win, as their fire has been squelched.

    70. Wife of Raise Hell Says:

I have to say that I truly pray that what I believe about Obama is NOT true, and we will just have to wait and see anyway.

As Ron Paul stated on his CNN Election Day Commentary, no matter who is the new President old problems are still there, we are in the Middle East, Syria, Pakistan, threatening to go into Iran, there are problems with our soldiers as they fighting two present wars in Iraq & Afganistan….those problems are getting bigger by the day.

We have major financial problems with old policies of pumping in new money to fix the mistakes made in the past 20-30 years. The American people have a lot to think about and probably there are no changes on our horizon.

Neither candidate has ever talked about balancing the budget, but they talked and PROMISED about lots of spending and cutting NOTHING. Spending will continue, deficits will continue, How can we expect “CHANGE” when Government is getting bigger, more intrusive in our private life, Foreign policy will remain the same, we are going to be the policemen of the world, there are no solutions being offered. Obama TOTALLY agreed with the recent bailout package.

The only “change” that I can see that bad legislation is going to get passed because of the abundance of Democrats in the House and The Senate……………………….Taxes will get raised.

If everything gets the rubber stamp “ok” that’s NOT good.

If you are passionate about Obama and even if you are not I want to challenge everyone to stay as “involved” you have been in politics during this election and continue to challenge Obama & The Senate & The House to “hold true” to their promises, PLEASE don’t just sit back and expect the “Change” to happen we as Americans have to make the CHANGES happen.

I am going to get on with my life now and get off my soapbox. Thank you for reading, have a nice night.

    74. Peter Says:

To #74 DAN: Exactly! The Bible can be used in ANY way that anyone wishes to use it. It is not a document to be taken literally. I sat down years ago to read the Bible and I was stunned by how immature, angry, vindictive, judgmental, elitist, etc, God’s personality comes across as being. So the Bible is a very human document that can be used in any way anyone wishes to. But to the point about striking with the sword: It still fits my point, which is matter of degree. You can stop someone with a good verbal exchange, or by locking your door, or by shooting them in the foot. Using force doesn’t necessarily mean shoving a grenade down their throat or bombing a whole country. The point, again, isn’t that force isn’t sometimes necessary. The point is that it is not always necessary. And it is hypocritical to promote hate and violence based on religious precepts that purportedly are based on peace and love and compassion.

    75. Good (Patriot) Guy Says:

#80 conclusions? I’ve been reading on this site for months about the NWO, about the puppet politicians, about the media lies and deception, about the bankers and the zionists, about Obama being put in place by the puppet maasters…and you tell me NOT to jump to conclusions and to give him a chance? Give him a chance for what???? Either infowars is a front for the democratic party, or it’s speaking the truth about where we are really going. So which is it??? Because I am NOT a freakin liberal democrat and I abhore their liberal crap being shoved down my throat. So why don’t you take your “conclusions” and do you know what with them.

    76. Albert Says:

i just don’t understand why people say “give him a chance” “whats the big deal”. The big deal is that he has the same foreign policies, monetary policies (the REAL reason for our economic meltdown), and complete disregard for the Constitution as Bush! Universal healthcare is a good idea (not sure if it can be practical here, given our size), Yes “lower taxes for middle class” is a good idea but what about abolishing the income tax? or following the Constitution? Don’t yall know the oath he will take in January?:

“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, PRESERVE, PROTECT and DEFEND the CONSTITUTION of the United States.”

Tell me how Obama will do that by continuing the same policies as Bush and the unconstitutional income tax

If this is what you are getting out of the bible, then you haven’t taken the time to read it at all. Sounds like you skimmed right through. Are you aware of what the Old and New Testament represent, differences, transitions etc…? You just don’t read it blindly and uninformed. Typical atheist attacking GOD and the bible as usual. Do you get the same jollies attacking scientology, hinduism, islam, kabbalha?

I bet you could care less about those religions! I bet they don’t drive out as much anger and hostility as the Christian faith, you should think about this.

    80. Red Dawn now Says:

You have no solid argument Peter, I posted a full rebutal to yuor half wit posts, which are inefectual , I will summerize, you have been indoctrinated to understand about a third of the scriptures and then, out of context, the scriptures tell you to judge righteousely, to judge the fatherless, or how else would they know right from wrong, to judge is to teach, you fool, read the concordance on th multitude of puropses for judging, you people try and take one passage and apply it to every situation.

And on the issue of hatred, again, YahVeh said, He put enmity between the serpents seed, whom obama and the rest of them that installed him there belong to, the serpent seedline, amoungst other is the lineage of the one you call Cain, he is satans offspring, John 3:12.
And in Revelations 2:6 we see where our Savior and Messiah says” I hate the Nikolaites” they are the antinomians, since I know you have been, for reasons unknown, indoctrinated in Greek, you know that antinomian means, lawless, as in without tyhe law of Torah, the old testament, so, if you hate the law, Yahshua came to fulfill, He hates you!

And my savior and, ostensibly yours, (you may be following a differant one, witting or unwittingly, as the antichrist is returning using the name jesus, a greek name meaning son of zeus) called the pharisee vipers, amoungst other things.

Before you go trying to impart the scriptures on people, you need to rightly divide the word, Shema, to hear intelligently,. which you are not! Learn the Almighty word in His language, Hebrew, because you know not what you say.

A good quarter of the bible tells us to arm up, as the disciples were, Luke 22:35 on and train for war, psalms 144 and beat your now useless farm impliments,( thanks to monsanto,) into weapons in this season ,Joel 3:10 and be His battleaxe, Jeremiah 51. dude.

That not withstanding, obama is patently anti-American and anti-constituinal, he is racist, he is marxist! he wants to steal from some of us, most of us and give it to his homeland, kenya.

    89. Peter Says:

      RED DAWN:

I’m agnostic. I don’t dare to presume to know the mind of God, if she even exists in any form we can conceive of.

You essentially sound insecure. When you say things like “my savior” that’s quite presumptuous and self-centered.

And when you say things like, “You have no solid argument Peter, I posted a full rebuttal to your half wit posts, which are inefectual” you reveal that your are uncomfortable with opposing or differing viewpoints, which is which is a sign of weak faith, actually.

Someone with strong faith, in my view, is someone who is willing and able to listen to and consider other ideas because if your faith is strong you won’t feel threatened, you will have rational solid calm responses. People who call names, shout, condemn others, get all righteous, etc, have weak faith because they don’t feel comfortable walking over ground they are not familiar with.

And your anger suggests that you are also not comfortable with yourself or your life. All too often what we project outwardly is a reflection of what we feel inwardly.

Jesus said, “Red Dawn, you are a half wit.”

Jesus said, “Red Dawn, you are a bum.”

Jesus said, “Red Dawn, you are a bastard.”

Absurd to think of Jesus saying these things? Well, you holding Jesus and the faith based on love which you claim to hold so dear, use lots of terms like these. Again, projecting your anger.

That how you choose to follow Christ?

      Peace.
