The ‘Real’ Jobless Rate: 17.5% Of Workers Are Unemployed

According to the government’s broadest measure of unemployment, some 17.5 percent are either without a job entirely or underemployed. The so-called U-6 number is at the highest rate since becoming an official labor statistic in 1994.
The number dwarfs the statistic most people pay attention to—the U-3 rate—which most recently showed unemployment at 10.2 percent for October, the highest it has been since June 1983.
The difference is that what is traditionally referred to as the “unemployment rate” only measures those out of work who are still looking for jobs. Discouraged workers who have quit trying to find a job, as well as those working part-time but looking for full-time work or who are otherwise underemployed, count in the U-6 rate.

Alex “Jarhead” Jones got his ass whipped !!!
Jarhead became louder, and louder begging C to step outside. That is when Steve, said, and I quote. “I can’t believe you’re acting like this because he called you a Jarhead.” He spun around and focused his fury on Mystery S. When he said “step outside, and I’ll whip you like my -bee yatch-.” Mystery S said OK, let’s go… and led the way. Jarhead hesitated, then followed. As did Charlie (of The Show with No Name) and Kanya (no name co-host, & play toy) with C, and the driver.
Jarheads next brave move was to announce that he had a gun, and began foraging around in his truck. Steve said, oh, now your gonna shoot me you pussy. Jarhead came from the truck with his hand in his pocket, and slowly advanced towards Steve. Steve retreated 2 or 3 steps, then said, “Then shoot me” and promptly nailed Jarhead with a right hook. They both just stood there for what seemed like a long time, then Steve let many more fly.
Jarhead tried to throw one… that’s right, one punch which grazed Steve’s nose… like flicking at a booger. At this point Iggy came out of the studio. Jarhead saw him, and screamed for him to go get Bob. Iggy ran in to do his masters bidding. Steve hit him a few more times. By now Charlie had convinced C and his friend to get out of there. They got in the car, and split. (with Steve) Bob came running out, to see Jarhead bleeding profusely, and shouting “they jumped me with knives!” Charlie disputed this, so Jarhead spit blood on him…So Charlie, bless him, punched him right in that mason jar of a head. When the cops came, Jarhead was ranting and changing his story with each breath… began to talk of his importance… and his families wealth… and his relatives in the FBI!!!

I agree. The economy will stay flatline for a good while unless there is some other bubble. Right now I think that bubble is welfare state. Money from the taxpayers going to pay the unemployed and Wallstreet. Every bubble bursts, and taxpayers will eventually see tax hikes. I’m not a taxpayer, so I don’t care.

yer a dumbass unemployment doesnt cost the txpayers why do you think they passed it so easily ,if it werent for unemployment the housing and gdp numbers would look way worse.unemployment is paid for by the employers and even the extensions are derffered from that trust ,so everyone paying there bills with thier unemployment checks is actually helping the economy.thats why congress passed ot so easily they reap the benifits and it cost them nothing and besides that not everyone qualifies for unemployment u have to work at your job for awhile in short it is not a giveaway,people on ui arent your typical welfare cases most have homes and families welfare recipients are different,if it werent for unemployment being paid forclosures would be way higher,basically there is 7.5 million people unemployed ,imagine what that ripple effect would have had they not been able to pay thier living expenses,everyone would loose

I am concerned that with all the information systems out there and coputer optimization that the current unemployed will EVER be able to get work again based on these computer optimization hiring models. no longer is it even possible to get an interview the old fashioned way, by personal introduction and some pleasant conversation. you MUST enter a resume, soc sec number, credit score, you know, things like credit score there is a huuuge movement to ignore our credit scores and bring down that beast. what price freedom?

Me and a few of my friends and neighbors have banded together. one card between 7 people now. everyone in the group recognizes that usury is not going to end with this govt without some kind of cooperative action. so me and my neighbors gave up the cards and we have one group card if you will that one of us has for those time when say we need to use credit to say buy supplements online, because supplements in the store are like twice the price , for those situations, and we basically pay the guy with the card a few extra dollars.

The stimulus package did little to help unemployment unless you worked on interstates or highways. It did not bring back manufacturing jobs from overseas. The people in power are going to continue the same old economic pattern (Keynsian Economics). Thus they will not revive this economy and it will slowly die, along with their outdated economic theories.
