In Monday’s New York Times: Claims that Al Qaeda terrorists were not solely responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks have a lively following on the Internet, but a coming episode of the FX drama “Rescue Me” may represent the first fictional presentation of 9/11 conspiracy theories by a mainstream media company.

In the episode, a character claims that the attacks were an “inside job” by the government. The actor who espouses the theories on camera, it turns out, also subscribes to them in real life.

That actor, Daniel Sunjata, predicts that the episode will be “socio-politically provocative.” Aaron Barnhart of The Kansas City Star asked Mr. Sunjata about the scene at a TV press tour last month and posted video of the “Rescue Me” episode on his blog.
