There is One Type of Total Gun Ban that We Need, Jefferson Would Agree, and It’s the Key to Bringing Back 1776

What I have to say in this article may deeply anger or enrage many who read it. But what I have to say is no more than a rewording of this miraculous passage from Thomas Jefferson:

“[E]very able-bodied freeman, between the ages of sixteen and fifty, is enrolled in the militia… The law requires every militia-man to provide himself with the arms usual in the regular service.”

I think that very few Americans have thought deeply about this passage, what it’s really saying, and thus very few understand the ramifications of this passage—even those in the heart of the Truth Movement may not have thought about this passage deeply enough to really see that this passage may be the key to everything.

How is it the key to everything? You might think it is by the way this passage promotes Second Amendment issues. That is true, but that is not what I am getting at here. We already all know that. What this passage really involves is actually a far bigger issue, one that I think very few of us have noticed, amazingly.

Jefferson says that it is the ordinary citizens who are the militia. Jefferson does not say that it is certain government-VIP groups, or any other government groups, who are members of the militia. (These VIP groups are the police and military, which are “standing armies”, if armed or maybe even if unarmed, when they are amassed on US soil; and they are groups like the FDA or USGS or NSA. These are groups that are given elevated status over the level of citizen by big government. From what I can tell, this basic issue is anti-Jeffersonian and/or unconstitutional.) That is the key: it is the citizens, and definitely not any (unconstitutional) government-favored special groups, who are the militia: who are the real homeland security.

Jefferson’s passage at the start of this article clearly lays this out, and it requires that almost all of us rearrange our thinking in order to get back to a 1776 mental framework. I sense that even listeners of the Alex Jones Show may have this thesis I am presenting here hit them with a shock, like a ton of bricks, as if it’s a radical thesis. But that just shows us how far we’ve come from 1776, and how subtly we’re all still under the trickery of the New World Order, even if we think we are so enlightened since we are Alex Jones listeners, guns owners, and members of the Patriot movement. Ok, with the thesis laid out, now let’s see how this Jeffersonian vision works…

So, what does this all mean? What would it mean if we had a total weapon and total gun ban for on-duty police and for military and post-Constitutional government entities? What would really happen in such a scenario? Well, it must be something quite good for the people that happens, since governments worldwide fight against this sort of a scenario almost more than they fight against anything. But more specifically, it means that it is against the law, against the Founders, and against 1776, for on-duty police, military, and for the aforementioned post-Constitutional government entities (FDA, CIA, EPA, Dept. of Education, etc.) to possess firearms (including any projectile weapon, such as non-lethal weapons [tasers, etc.] or crossbows or longbows, microwave guns, etc.), since these big-government-favored groups are not part of the militia. That’s the key issue, and this is all very important; so let’s get this down pat in more detail.

How are on-duty police, military, and for the aforementioned post-Constitutional government entities (FDA, CIA, EPA, Dept. of Education, etc.) not part of the militia, in Jefferson’s philosophy? Here’s how:

These big-government-favored groups are elevated in power above the status of being an ordinary citizen, but Jefferson says it’s only those of the status of ordinary citizen who are party of the militia (who are gun owners), thus if you fall outside of this ordinary citizen group you are breaking the law if you own a weapon!

That is what Jefferson’s comments lead to, and if we explore the ramifications of this (as I am going to next), you will perhaps agree that this is Jefferson’s greatest, largest, and most critical issue for preservation of the Constitutional Republic. So let’s figure out why this issue—gun ban for on-duty police and for military and non-Constitutional government entities—is really the single issue we should focus on perhaps more than any other.

There are so many issues we members of the Truth and Patriot movements have to grapple with. If we want our country back, if we want back what Jefferson, Washington, Adams, Henry, and the rest of the Founders set up for us, where on earth do we start when we are in such an incredible quagmire today, where we have strayed so unimaginably far from the Founders’ Republic? We have to deal with pandemic hoaxes, GM food plagues, FEMA holocaust, secret government, false flag terror, government robot weapons, attempts by big government to destroy inalienable rights, vaccine holocausts, depleted uranium, and all the rest that infowars.com patriots are all too familiar with. It is perhaps a daunting task when we consider how much we have to deal with. But what if we could reduce all these issues down to one, single issue—an issue that’s power-source of all the others—wherein we could focus in on that one issue, obliterate it, and ipso facto, 1776 would be restored? That is precisely what is at stake in the aforementioned issue of pushing for a gun ban for on-duty police and for military and non-Constitutional government entities. This is a simple issue, a clearly definable issue, one that could easily get huge amounts of support since already 70 percent (or more) of Americans are pro-Second Amendment (and this is growing fast). So, let’s see why if we won that single battle of removing weaponry from government, military, and on-duty police, that all other things would fall into place.

Yes, that’s right, we need one type of gun control. We need gun control for on-duty police and any military and government officials who are on US soil (excluding Congress, the President, and perhaps the members of the Supreme Court, since they may be members of the militia, in Jefferson’s vision). This would include any group that even loosely resembled a standing army (such as privatized military forces like Blackwater) since they are unconstitutional, except for the one Constitutional standing army: the militia. In other words, on-duty police should banned from possessing guns, as should any government people in the military, FDA, CIA, and any of the other post-Constitutional monstrosities that we Americans have permitted to come into existence and control every aspect of us down to our consciousness. The way this would happen peacefully is if members of these big-government-favored groups deprogrammed from their brainwashing and voluntarily put down their arms in order to join this Second Amendment Jeffersonian revolution. I think getting this to happen is doable.

What will be the net effect of this? It would have such tremendous ramifications that it would bring us right back to the America that the Founders established for us. Consider how this works.

If we had unarmed police and military, we would have police and military that would be no threat to any gun-owner (“one man with a gun can control a hundred without one”). I cannot underestimate the importance of this. Eventually the balance of power would shift to such a degree that government would be under the control of the gun owners (of the Jeffersonian militia). Why? Because anyone out there who is in any way fired up about the Second Amendment knows that the feeling of owning a gun, carrying a gun, is so safe, secure, and free, that the joy it brings just blossoms within you in such a way that you glue on to that feeling of freedom almost as tightly as you hug your child. So, in other words, the gun owners would thrive and unite in their euphoria of freedom and Constitutionalism, by the feelings they have inside from carrying the gun. I can see this in a lower-level form when I am at the shooting range, at the gun shop. I can see it in the eyes, feel it in the hearts, of my fellow pro-Second Amendment friends, and there are a lot of them. As Alex Jones has said, protecting our Second Amendment is the one thing that millions will lay down everything and fight for right now. This is because the gun owner knows, feels, how the peace-of-mind of holding the gun is the key to freedom, as Jefferson and many of the Founders did too. Jefferson describes the issue most clearly:

As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body, and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion of your walks. Never think of taking a book with you. The object of walking is to relax the mind. You should therefore not permit yourself even to think while you walk; but divert yourself by the objects surrounding you. Walking is the best possible exercise. Habituate yourself to walk very far. –Thomas Jefferson, Letter to Peter Carr, August 19, 1785

It is the gun, the Second Amendment, that gives freedom. Without it we are slaves; with it we can be like Jefferson on his walks, with a mind clear and liberated, unworried and free to philosophize. The feelings of freedom that gun owners employ would overflow if there was a gun ban for on-duty police and for military and non-Constitutional government entities. This is because it would instantly be the case that

The citizens would not have a powerful military or police force to fall back on and be dependent upon, and thus they would have to assume those responsibilities for themselves, and they would become the police and military, they would assume those roles: fathers would become protectors instead of TV-watchers, grandfathers would again take their grandchildren to the range, women would again recognize the urgency to carry a pistol wherever they go, and women would walk through parking lots at night without a shred of fear (a woman empowered, without fear: a feminism the fake feminists will never know). Again, in the current state of TV-addicted-America, this sounds odd to many who think dialing 911 is the key to safety, but again, I am just rewording what Jefferson has already said when he told that what I am writing about in this article is real homeland security: “…our attention should be fixed on the safety of our country. For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed militia [citizens] is their best security.” –Jefferson, Eight Annual Message, Nov. 8, 1888.

Without the illusion of “security” from the big government police and military forces, the citizens would not have a powerful military or police force to fall back on and be dependent upon, and thus they would feel that they have no protection—as if they are “naked in the wilderness”—citizens would in this case do what people always do: they would seek out protection, and the best protection, they would find, is the gun. There is already so much pro-gun fervor in America, that quickly after a disarming of on-duty police and of military and non-Constitutional government entities, there would be an overpowering zeitgeist in the air that the best protection is the gun (this zeitgeist already exists in America at a lower level, as it it’s just waiting to overflow). Consequently, those who are gun owners would amplify their devotion to their art, and those who are not would become passionate gun owners by the millions. We would quickly change from a helpless nation to a nation empowered.

Now, what I have described so far in this article is a blueprint for how we completely disempower the government, and radically empower the citizenry. And this all occurred from one little issue: institute a gun ban for on-duty police and for military and non-Constitutional government entities.

Notice: this is a single issue, not many issues. This is one issue that can solve all other issues. This is not like trying to do many things: it is not trying to reign in GM food, vaccines, and the Fed all at once. It’s a much simpler task: you just do one thing, which is disarm the big-government-favored groups. And if we all focused our energy on this one issue, we could get it done, and the rest of the 1776 cards would fall into place.

And here’s why this issue of disarming the big-government-favored groups is the issue that allows everything else about the New World Order to fall away, from vaccines to draft, to carbon tax, to ID chip. Here’s what America would look like with disarmed big-government-favored groups:

A. On the one hand, there would be the armed, patriotic America, which would consist of a mass of wide-eyed, passionate, happy gun owners (sort of like a vaster version of what I already see at a much smaller scale at the shooting range every Saturday), with confidence, character, and inner peace (as Jefferson described in a passage above), which would number in the hundreds of millions

B. And then on the other hand, there would be a completely unarmed government, numbering only a tiny fraction of those described in a.

The power is with A. And what about B? Well… B is, well, rather pathetic, isn’t it. We are, at any moment, incredibly close to this sort of a scenario, since there is only one thing we need to do to put this sort of a world in place: disarm on-duty police, disarm military on US soil (or maybe all military, at least for a time), and any other big-government-favored groups.

Just from this disarmament, A and B fall into place. Do you see what happens then, if A and B are in place? Government has no authority; gun owners are authority—they are government!

What do you think would happen if B tried to tell A that they can’t have a garden because they might plant pot in it? Yeah, I am laughing too! What do you think would happen if B told A that there was a draft, or that there were mandatory vaccinations for swine flu, or that Congress is being lobbied to “pass” a “bill” that robs the citizens blind (“bank bailout”)? Yeah, it’s a pretty funny scenario; almost like a zebra herd walking up to the lion prides to tell the lions to please stop eating them–or, almost like an American in the current situation, where the current American tries to “write their Congressman”. Even non-gun-owning (i.e., non-Constitutional) members of America are not really citizens, in this scheme of this article, and of Jefferson’s lawmaking, and they are at the wretched, disempowered level of B, more than they are of A.

So, in summary, there are so many issues we have to fight for, and we need to get more and more aware of all that is going on, but amid everything else we Truthers and Patriots are doing, we may want to think about launching a campaign, with more energy and persistence and passion than anything we have ever done, to fight for this one single issue: a gun ban for on-duty police and for military and non-Constitutional government entities, in order to have the chain of events outlined in this Jeffersonian treatise carry out. This is a doable project, since it is a single project, a clear and easy-to-understand project that will make all people feel as empowered as one of the Patriots in the Revolutionary War. Looking at our plight with this issue above all others can give us a means to win this victory against the satanic New World Order, and can give us hope, inspiration, drive, and rebirth, resembling the Minutemen of the Republic.

   Hey Texas Native – You mentioned “disarming the people who are suppose to protect ” – You may not know this – but there is no law for the Police ‘protectors’ to defend our lives.

   Now granted there will always be criminals, or people who will strive to trespass against another’s liberty, but Police and the rest of them should be there to investigate and solve criminal activities, not paid to defend my life — that may be their JOB but it’s my RIGHT.

   How much criminality would there be if everyone stood up armed to criminals? Now White-collar corporate crime relies on investigation – not guns. You legally search and seize property and these type of criminals have nothing. But in our society, gun shooting delinquents make the 7 oclock news and we think ‘they’ are the problem. If there was more self-respect in society and mutual respect for one another’s liberties – there would be less crime as there is now in society…I PREFER to at least try and still retain my self-respect as a sovereign being without fear of those ‘protectors’ you mentioned we can not live without.

   I’m in favor of this because;
   It is the leverage or Big Tanker’s bar we would need to break open that large grip the elite have.
   Many comments on here show little patents or tolerance for the different, this ideal would bring common ground that many could easily do.

   People need to remember; the forefathers of the nation had different backgrounds and beliefs but found a common cause, recorded it on paper and backed it with lives.

   As for what I can do; continue to reach the local, increase the numbers of our Militia.
   Train them to respect their weapons, their neighbors and their country. Teach them to defend the Constitution.

   I nor anyone else can say anything to those that have been “gunned down”. What I would say is that given back our gun rights to keep and bear arms unmolested, you might find that a lot of criminals are as happy being criminals any more. What you can say is that police, where they enforce only laws that come into being as common law will have a broader support of the citizens to draw on in time of need. Where policing goes wrong is that in today’s political climate we are too often subject to laws made to calm the fears of the popular causes of the moment with little real regard for need or common sense. The result of this is that the police are separated from the citizens by a huge wall built of fear, resentment and tales of “bad cops”. That, IMHO, is what puts police and other law enforcement on the wrong side of a gun more often than not.

   The first police officers in the U.S. did NOT carry firearms, much the way the British police used to not carry weapons. Then they banned guns and had to start carrying their own. But people can’t see through the lies.

   I believe you missed the point or did not read the whole article, if ALL LAW ABIDING citizens were armed and PREPARED[especially not to be couch sitting and otherwise uninvolved] then we would become the law just as it was in the old west, for no one would dare mess with you if you were armed AND trained to use your weapon. They would either change thier mind and run or die. The choice they would make if they decide to inflict harm on an innocent human! It is the perfect solution!

   It is not about guns but all arms usual to the armed forces. Guns are only a small part of the equation. If the elite cared about the pig cops they would let them have high tech weapons instead of antique firearms. I say disarm the corrupt cops since they only enforce the laws of the elite against us. Our e-VP can get drunk, shoot a lawyer in the face, flee the state and all he gets is a chance to send in a check for the license since he was poaching too.    First off, that innocent police officer would no longer be needed as the people are capable of policing themselves…Citizens arrest would be reinstituted. That innocent police officer would then be free to leave her stand and join the militia with the rest of us….Police officers would then be downsized, cutting taxes dramatically and allowing more money to be put into the economy and in people’s pockets.    How about this: no profesional law enforcment personnel at all. This nation only started having municipal police around the 1840s and largely in the big cities in the east to, temorarily, deal with the massive influx of immigrants. The only, and constitutional, governmental police power was the county sheriff. The police state was ushered in with the formation of municipal police organisations.

   just a opinion but shouldn’t a large group of people who have been victimized by the law enforcement thugs gather together and train to police the “law enforcement thug’s” set up checkpoints in areas that law enforcement have been corrupt and not let em in unless they pass a common sense test as well as other simple test a cop should know !!! kinda like their d.u.i. checkpoints, and for security u can unite all groups that have taken a stand against law enforcement in the past like the black panthers, and The Brown Berets and others united against the real thugs “the police”

   You really don’t know what you are talking about, you have in fact, just demonstrated that you have not read the federalist papers etc., and other relevant documentary evidences. Had you done so, as many of us have, you would know that in fact, Jefferson wanted to do away with slavery at that time, there was a heated debate about it, the jist of the founders, {who were greater men than any and all that are polluyting our government now,) wanted to do away with slavery after the revolution, but…they knew, that this would invite another war, they just survived a terrible war and new they could not afford another one,( they were willing to go to war again to end the slavery moron,) and there was also white slavery at that time,ever hear of the shanghai slavery routes?

   What you have failed to see ‘crinkle’ is the the gun owners have the seat of power.

   The only people that seem to have power today are – gangs, police, military, government (and their agencies).    Farmers are the only class of people who create wealth from practically nothing but sun, water and soil. The natural resources are free.

   Modern chemical farming is designed to subjugate the farmer by making him procure capital loans to buy fertilizers, herbicides and other BS. Real farming requires none of the Agribusiness crap.

   If you farm right, you never need insecticides because a variety of crops instead of a monoculture creates diversity on the land. Insects don’t eat lots of different things, they specialize on one crop. When you confuse them by row cropping different crops in the same field, if you get one kind of bug invasion you have a couple of other crops that they won’t eat, so you survive to plant again next year.

   If you rotate your fields and graze cattle on cover crops in the right way, you never need fertilizers. Our country has been bought and sold down the river by Agri-Giant-Businesses owned by the Elites.

   Now, you combine real farming with an armed citizen who doesn’t have to allow Monsanto to test your crops so they can take you to court for violating their patents and licensing requirements, you can farm whatever you want.

   Yeah. I’m for that.

   As for China. Get real. They need our natural resources, which we have been selling them for some time. They need our lumber, our concrete mixes and they have our steel tooling. All that was sold to them while our prices were jacked up and we started getting our steel from them and Mexico. They can’t produce the steel without our iron ore. They are going to collapse back into the primitive state they were in before Tricky Dick Nixon bailed them out with his little overtures of the 1970s.

   Why do you think construction materials cost so much? China is sucking them down as fast as we produce them. More looting going on.

   If we have a war to take our country back, the first thing we have to do is stop sending our natural resources anywhere but here, and we have to re-tool and get our manufacturing rolling again.

   Back in the 80’s we were the Un-Armed Services. They didn’t trust us with ammo at all. Going to the rifle range you got your rounds handed to you when you got to the firing line. Same with the machine gun ranges.

   No knives, no bayonets. We didn’t keep any weapons in the barracks or in our cars.

   Even going out to do a funeral firing squad. One person was given five security rounds to keep anyone from taking our M-16 rifles away from us. Red magazine. The ranking Marine kept the blank rounds until it was time to load for the salute.

   If every able-bodied freeman, between the ages of sixteen and fifty were armed, America would effectively have a much STRONGER national military – at least in terms of infantry.

   There would be tens of millions of potential soldiers in America.

   No, America’s military wouldn’t be able to invade countries around the world and occupy foreign soil for years on end but it would impossible for any foreign force to invade and conquer. Let’s see China’s army invade America if it possessed an armed force of tens of millions.

   Measures would have to be taken to combat nuclear warfare and such but that could be done with a military that doesn’t posses small arms.

   Withdrawing our armed military from all the countries we currently occupy would remove any desire to invade our country. And if someone did get that great idea, with every able-bodied person (I’m not going to limit this to “men”, because I’ve known some pretty sharp-shootin’ women in my time) carrying a gun and trained to use it…they might find themselves in something of a pickle pretty quick.

   I only have 2 issues with the article.
   1) I believe that while between the ages of 16 and 50 would incur Militia service, I see no reason why children younger than 16 and men over they age of 50 assuming proper criteria is met, ie. Not police, gov., standing army, would be restricted.
   2) With out the advent of Civil war, I do not see this becomming a reality. They, the corrupt Government, The NWO Bankers, and the Industrial Military establishment will never agree to this. Since I believe that this war will come regardless who strikes first, I must ask why would we invest energy into something that will be corredted regardless once we Patriots kick ass and take this country back.

   the national army is full of “men” who were losers in high school and wanted to fee important and wearing a uniform made them feel important. FACT! A smaller percentage felt they had no other recourse but to join to make ends meet.

   Very few men in the military serve very honorably and I mean they don’t swear or make lude comments about women or go around fking as many girls/women as they can. That is why I do not automatically respect any man in a military uniform.

   I recently joined the Army and have first hand knowledge to what you are refering, I know some shady people but none as bad as you describe. I struggled for a while with automatically respecting uniformed men because untill I joined the only people I knew in the Army were some dirtbag kids from highschool. But you are so so wrong when you say few men serve honorably are not decent people, there are so few of them compared with the rest… and those people disust me which is partially why I’m becoming an Officer. Most soldiers I know never say it to a crowd, but they do what they do because they love their country and believe in the mission.

   If I understand you; the military is evil because it is controlled by the NWO. If we follow your same logic on the civilian side every elected official, every judge and officer of the law is evil because they too are controlled by the NWO. This is certainly not true.    I disagree. If you re-read the article, what Jefferson was stating is that WE THE PEOPLE are the army; there is not supposed to be a (large) standing army/navy, and traditionally the United States did not keep a large standing army or navy until after Korea/Vietnam. Eisenhower warned us against the military-industrial complex, and he was drawing on some of Jefferson’s ideas on this too when he made his famous-but-not-very-well-know speech to the American people at the end of his presidency.

   Andy – you are right. the 1980’s wiped out most of the small, family farms(Google: 80’s Farm Crisis). their is not much left of the rural schools either. i am a farmer and it was very sickening to see our farms and small towns go under in the 80’s.

   …that’s why i have always thought that putting landmines in the big farmer’s fields is a good idea. haha, a few farmers received financial bailouts during the 80’s and now they are bigger than ever. the population of my town used to be 500. the town was full of life and now it’s 200 and falling fast.

   I think the idea here is that the military should, except for training, be in a total stand-down position when home on American soil. If we need to fight a war, let the President lawfully declare it, let the congress lawfully support it, and then send the military into battle fully equipped to win quickly and come home.     I don’t take that section of the US Code to be the same as an authority to draft if for no other reasons than (1) it doesn’t mention actually conscripting anyone and (2) there are laws in other places in the Code regarding registration for the draft.

    In theory this sounds like it could be possible but there are a lot of unanswered questions.

    What if we are attacked by another nation? Would the militia have the fire-power and the training to take on a foreign army..and win? I think many might be upset with the idea of mandatory militaristic training. I fail to see the majority of woman feeling empowered by having a pistol, I think the majority of woman (and men) do not have a desire to use a gun on another human being, if its at all avoidable. There would have to be some restrictions on ownership still, because – lets face it – many people aren’t playing with a full deck, and many would be attempting to take advantage of others if there was a lack of capabale law enforcement. Believe me, I strongly admire Jefferson and many of his ideals and I’m an infowarrior – but this scenario (at least in my mind) may not be the best or safest route for us to proceed down.

    I’ve known for a long time that the Second Amendment is not so much a right as it is a responsibility and duty. The PEOPLE are the militia.

    I once saw an earlier draft of the Second Amendment that had two sentences. The second was basically an out for consensus objectors, like Quakers and such. I wish it had been left in there as it gives a whole new feel to the second amendment. The keeping and bearing of arms is a responsibility, and duty, not a right.

    Jeffery Grupp is right. If the military is at home then they have no need of weapons, unless it is to make war on America, in behalf of a treasonous government. If we have a war abroad or our border is being over run,( Mexico ) then the military arms and goes to the fight and defends American soil and American interests.

    If the Second Amendment and Constitution were respected the issue of dis arming police would be moot as the people would be the police and there would be no need for a formal police state.

    I like this article and I think it is worthy of consideration. I’m eager to see the comments.

    I agree fully, but this is so unattainable at this point that it’s almost laughable. Very well written article, though. Would it be wonderful for only citizens to have guns? Yes and no. Even in a truly free society (which we can only dream of) I would want my police force to be carrying weapons. They’re not ALWAYS the bad guy and I wouldn’t want to put their lives at risk like that. And several of the founding fathers wanted to abolish slavery, but everyone goes back to 1865 and the Civil War that supposedly ended slavery.     Amen, and yes sir! Gun control for cops and soldiers! Only citizens have the right to bear arms. Cops should never have firearms. Soldiers should only have guns during an active invasion. This is the American principle. Since America died a long time ago, since Americans now only exist in extremely small numbers, well the zombies who have taken over think this idea is horrifying!

    Seeing that this is the only post that even came the closest to what the article was about, I would also like to add that none, not even the article writer quoted what the Constitution had to say about this.
    Here in Article 8 it states this.

    To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;

    To provide and maintain a Navy;

    To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

    To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

    To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

    The Navy is the only one that is to be maintained by the government.
    The rules for the Land and Naval forces are for the Militia (when called upon) and the Navy.

    The point is that the Police would no longer be the “Protectors”. They would simply be the Investigators. The Police are INSTITUTIONALLY GUARANTEED to be armed while we have to ask permission. That’s backwards. The Police, as the Investigators, would have to ask US permission to carry for certain and specific occasions. Upon granting that permission, they would have to account for where the weapon was at all times, what they did with it, face criminal charges if it is displayed without an immediate threat of death and then risk having a Civil Lawsuit filed against you when you do defend yourself.

    Those are the things WE have to do to carry. As for your 3 ideas – agree completely.

    There personnel arms must NOT be restricted in anyway , and can not be if we follow the Constitution, what we can take back is ALL the equipment and arms purchased with OUR Tax dollars to be given back to the American people, we can clear out station armories, and equipment lockers without violating the individuals right, some of those arms and equipment if the local community so choses, can and I would recommend be set up for the SHERIFF, so he can raise and help equip a posse when the local community so needs.

    I disagree – this is the most entertaining part of my day.     The citizenry must be as equally armed as the police. The military must be FORBIDDEN from engauging the citizenry under any and ALL circumstances, other than to perhaps serve as life guards with rubber rafts when an ocean liner is sinking, etc..

    The citizenry must have assault rifles and MUST have long distance hunting rifles that can reach and hit a target one mile out and all citizens should carry some sort of hand gun.

    This is the only way to restore order in the modern world.

    Think of the implications that create an actual ballance of power between government and the people.     I understand the point you are trying to make, but I think you are making a fundamental error, one that many people make. In order for your argument to work, one must believe that The Second Amendment grants the right to bear arms only to the militia, rather than to the people. This is a serious error and I will explain why:
    The first three words of The Constitution are “We the people….” These three words tell us far more than most people realize. They tell us that the authors of The Constitution believed they belonged to a group, a group called the people. They also tell us that the authors of The Constitution believed that they were speaking for this group called the people. Jumping down to the Second Amendment we find two groups mentioned; the group the militia and the group the people. Now the militia is a subset or sub-group of the group the people, which means that all members of the group the militia are members of the group the people, but not all members of the group the people are members of the group the militia. And our founding father deliberately and purposefully gave the right to bear arms not to the lesser group, the militia, but to the larger group, the people and they added an exclamation point when they said “…shall not be infringed.” The term `infringed’ dates back about 600 years and it mean `to weaken.’ So what our found fathers said was that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be weakened! In other words; you may not do any thing which weakens the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
    Sorry, but cops and DHS guys are members of the group the people and therefore have the same right to keep and bear arms as any other member of the group the people. On one hand, I like your idea, but on the hand, I do not want any one thinking, even for a second, that the right to bear arms belongs only to the militia, because that would open the door to many different arguments which could threaten the people’s right to keep and bear arms.

    I think you missed the point, Mike.

    I believe what the author is suggesting is that government sponsored entities like DHS, FBI, CIA, and the military cannot own weapons in the name of the government itself. However, this doesn’t eliminate the right of the individuals in those positions from owning weapons, which seems to be what you’re suggesting.

    And I’m not sure I understand what you mean when you say that the DHS is “the people.” Last time I read, it was a department of a unconstitutional government. That in of itself should eliminate the rights for government affiliated departments and branches to carry weapons against “the people.” And it’s funny, I don’t remember anyone asking me if I wanted a DHS…

    I can’t really see where the author specifically states that the militia is the only organization that can own weapons. The author does state that militias are part of the natural progression to gun ownership, but because we have a bloated government and military, that natural progression has largely been debased.

    The Militia is for and required for a free State and the Arms are for and required for a free people. If we are to follow the constitution fully as most of us wish and want, then all Americans must be armed fully without restrictions.

    The Militia is the people and the people are the militia, the only diference in the groups is the age they encompass, and that you are born a part of the people and chose to join and aid the militia. You are not required and can not be forced to join the militia.

    Very good point about the people being the larger group. That is important because there are laws that effect militia in a time of war that do not effect the people.

    You are correct we can NOT demand the disarming of Americans in corrupt agencies anymore then they can demand we be disarmed. However we can toss them in JAIL after there Constitutional grand jury inditements, and we can demand and abolish these Illegal and unauthorized agencies.

    And point out to people in these agencies they are in violation of the law, supporting and enforcing POLICY and regulations that violate the Supreme law of the land inwhich all laws most comply with or be null and void.

Utilize every skill set you think you will need, ensure you have the capability today to fight tomarrows battles. First form up yourself, then your fire team, then your platoon, then your regiment, etc. Ensure you have supply lines, medical access (aka wake up local doctors), learn from the old timers who have served, learn from the youth who have served modern tactical battles, learn from the military hand manuels of those agents who will assult your town, READ, LEARN, PREPARE, UTILIZE. If everybody does this to their best ability within their personal limits then this will ensure a meat grinder for them.

    While I definitely enjoy where this article is going, you have to remember that the constitution doesn’t give or grant rights, it protects them. And that other rights exist beyond what printed in the constitution, but are not specifically protected. With that in mind, notice that the language of the Jefferson is saying states “… The law requires every militia-man to provide himself with the arms usual in the regular service.” This means that it is the duty of militia members to be armed, but doesn’t prohibit the non-militia-man from being armed as well.

    Sorry, but this simply does not restrict this right to non government people only. Having firearms is a god-given human right that shall not be abridged or obstructed, regardless of your profession, and this statement does not abate that.

    But I do love the affirmation that I’m considered to be part of the militia!

    Unfortunately I believe the morality of our society has drifted so far that a transition to this type of constitutional system would be difficult at best. I think it would be great, but it would require great wisdom, character and upstanding moral values (learned from a young age) by all citizens. This can be done by re-strengthening the family unit and will probably take at least a couple of generations.

    It is also unfortunate that these types of societal transition don’t occur naturally until extreme adversity or catastrophic calamity cause a society to return to moral living.

     No wonder Thomas Jefferson had a Koran and read it. It has some concepts which were introduced into our Constitution. There was a time when Islam ruled in Spain (800 years) and their rule established peaceful co-existance of Muslims, Jews and Chritians.      The article is well written and supported, however this gun ban would only apply to federal agencies. As the the states are independent unto themselves, their own police and local law enforcement could be armed. Actually on the federal level the US Marshall Service would be armed as they act as bailiff to the federal courts, an armed position. There may also be some pre federal armed forces that would have been “grandfathered” into the system. Like the Continental Army, The Navy and Marines, Coast Guard. Not to mention the Prison Service and Customs. These are needed services for the government to do its primary function: Protection from internal Fraud and external force. Oh let’s not forget the Postal Inspectors too…

     Nice concept however making the feds really prove a contract based need for lethal force.

     Alright, I’m not American but I’ve been reading up on this thread anyway.

     The one thing that is the biggest problem in any nation is chaos. Now I know for a fact that even if we all had guns in this world, had a right to bear arms and were constantly accompanied by a sidearm, laws of chaos will arise. As guns are a tool for protection, they are also a tool of domination.

     Even if you derail the government and disarm them, there are still going to be groups of people within the normal citizens who would rise up and try to reign power over domination. There is a statement around that, “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.”

     Now I’m not putting any hate into this whole constitution, but I still have my own doubts that certain people have the stability required to restrain such a tool only to defensive measures. That could easily be countermeasured with a law however that if a man pulls his gun out in a threatening manner, the people who have the right to bear arms (being the normal citizens of America) can raise their firearm in defense and try to obtain a peaceful resolution within the conflict.

     But would this be an effective solution to chaos? We live in an age where we are no longer small towns of closely knit citizens who all know each other. We have our own cultural communities and society is now an era of conflict regardless of political propaganda. We can barely even settle our own racial issues! We could exist in complete harmony with each other, but because of what has happened in the past with conquerers and inquisitions and wars, we’ve come to a point where we allowed such a thing as a world government to form together in some hope of blind salvation.

     I know, being outside of america, i generally have no right to state whether or not such a ban should be passed and the restoration of the law returns to the gun owner’s hands should be established. But the population of Americans is a massive scale to consider. And since when was our freedom based on protection? Can we really determine a peaceful resolution with a weapon on our sides?

     It suddenly no longer becomes a right to bear arms in such a fashion, but the right to resolve a matter within our own hands through protective measures.

     Personally I’m all for you guys having your right to bear arms over the military. If any mass of citizens are able to unite and devise a way to resolve matter peacefully it is you guys. I wish us Australians had that choice ourselves. Though the points that need to be addressed are still there.

     Gun Ownership should be mandatory as it is Kennesaw, Georgia. When the city council enacted this law the “Crime Rate Plummeted”.

     Jefferson’s point being that to have a well armed militia that it be required that every man old enough to carry and a weapon, own one with ammunition and know how to use it. This still holds true today.

     One lawman with a gun can get a lot more done, if the citizenry is behind him to be deputized and to form a posse, when necessary (i.e. the cost for security goes way down). Our military can also do a much better job with less in the process of defending our shores, which is what it was designed to do, when the enemy is instilled with fear knowing that every man and woman is an armed combatant, making our standing army number one hundred million, which I am sure worked to our benefit in the cold war. It sure kept Switzerland from being invaded during WWII; and, it may still save our asses from the China-Russian alliance.

     I founded the Tyranny Response Squad of Miami, FL. (http://www.tyrannyresponse.org) and film law enforcement. Then need guns, there are criminals. Some or most (not all) is controlled and part of the agenda. But there are also lone wolf threats. There always has been, always will be. Some people are just bad seeds. Some join the establishment, some don’t.

     We have fallen far from 1776 and it will take twice as long to climb back up. I want to get to a point where every household is required to have a firearm unless they have a criminal record or mental handicap. if there is a crime, it is up to the community to defend their own neighbors and family. The police should be volunteer. Military should never police the citizens as per posse. Their job is to defend us, not regulate us.

     The first step is stringing the cops. Get a police radio and a digital camera that records on SD cards. If anyone deletes your footage there is forensic recovery software to resurrect that footage. You can get it from us free by emailing jack@federaljack.com and donating a dollar or more to federaljack.com Film the cops (but go to tyrannyresponse.org and read the code of conduct first!) and let the cops get to know you in your neighborhood and befriend them.      While it sounds Jeffersonian, there are a few flaws in the author’s thinking. First, he fails to address how the police would compel armed criminals to surrender to their authority when the police are rightly attempting to arrest them. This is a problem the unarmed police of Great Britain faced for quite some time. They finally abandoned this model in favor of armed policemen because the police were too ineffective with only billyclubs.

     Second, even assuming the author’s premise is a valid one, how does he propose that we should disarm the vast armed services, the police and all the other government agencies that carry weapons? He really doesn’t say. He only says it’s something we should devote ourselves to doing it. As I see it, the only way government is ever going to relinquish its weapons to us is by the use of armed force against them. No government in history has ever willingly given over its power, once acquired, to its citizens. In his suggestion that we can somehow do this, there seems, to me, to be the unspoken intention that we should demand this of the government, but this is terribly naive and short-sighted, as it ignores the reality that the tables have been turned on us for quite some time. While we outnumber the government, and while we have more guns than they do, they are highly organized and we are not organized at all. This puts us at a distinct disadvantage. So does the fact that the average gun owner lacks the training that the average soldier or policemen has. Also, the military has weapons that are far superior to our guns (which are mostly single-shot and semi-automatic sporting guns), including weapons we may not even know of yet.

     So, the end result of any armed attempt to disarm the government would be massive casualties and chaos for us. Remember, as Dick Cheney is quoted as saying, if we rebel, they will simply drop neutron bombs on us and take us out en mass. Back to the drawing board with this idea.
