The Toronto Sun

The controversial move, which comes nearly two months after the now 18-year-old girl vanished without a trace on her way to school, is rare but it has been successful in several investigations in the past.
“(It will be) an intensive investigative canvass of the area where Mariam lived and went to school,” lead investigator Det.-Sgt. Dan Nealon, of 53 Division, said yesterday.
In what he called “an unprecedented move,” police have assigned 60 officers to conduct the intense door-to-door search of all the houses and apartments in the densely populated area surrounding Mariam’s family home on Shallmar Blvd., northeast of Bathurst St. and Eglinton Ave. W.

Yeah really,
Everyone is guilty until proven innocent. What a crock of shit. The police are wasting precious time searching the homes of innocent people. If anything it is a toe in the water, a beta run. Anyone who says no while be suspect, not for the girl but for whatever the cops “gut instinct” tells them. We’re already living in 1984. We have the 24 hour hate instead of the two minute hate. The Boy Scouts are being trained to storm the homes of regular American citizens and pretty much anything true gets thrown down the memory hole. Man are we fucked.

Why don’t they just send the girl scouts around selling cookies? They’re now being trained to look for anything suspicious, after all. Or offer a free trial of cable, so the cable guy can check out the residence.
A nark is a nark is a nark, even if they’re wearing plainclothes, a work uniform, or a cute little ponytail and a sash with lotsa little badges on it.

How is going door to door asking people’s permission to search their house going to help find this girl? All this does is turn innocent people into suspects for not wanting their privacy invaded. It doesn’t surprise me though, the Toronto Police are totally inept and lazy. Why did they wait this long to step up the search? When someone goes missing time is not their friend, it’s been weeks since this girl has been seen. Now they decide it’s serious business that needs to be resolved. What a total joke.

You bleeding heart-feel good douchebags are going to be the death of liberty, and freedom. One of the many reasons for the rule of law is to protect citizens from big brother. I feel terrible for the friends, and family of this girl, but proper procedures must be followed to keep the authorities in check. Just so you know-if you don’t give them consent then you are giving them probable cause to take further action in todays world. You go ahead, and grab your ankles Phoenix (even if you have done nothing wrong) because it makes you feel good, but any prudent citizen will insist on the rule of law.

Lolz I’m sure if you or anyone else was in the position of these people with your child missing you’d have no problems with the cops going door to door to look for him… Or would you still petition the police department that the search methods they are using for YOUR OWN child are against the principles of liberty and fiscally irresponsible?

Do you really think they are going to stop this tactic after this missing girl case.
Once we let them search on this pretext, how long before they stage a missing girl or even abduct one just get permission to search 6,000 more homes?
What if they don’t find the girl, but they do find weed or some type of thought crime violation? What do you think they will do then? Turn the other cheek? I don’t think so…

So with all the missing people and fugitives from the law in any major city, say Los Angeles for example, I guess we should just let the police search our homes on a daily basis? Is that your idea of freedom? Furthermore, this so called “girl” was 18, that makes her a grown woman, she’s not 6 years old for crying out loud.

I went outside and met the officers outside, talked to them outside (never let them in at all) and showed them the cut phone line that was not attached to anything that can be id as a phone. Haaaa caught them in there own bs. told them to have a nice day, went back into my home and shut the door behind me. They just looked puzzled and then left for the donut shop. Rule of thumb, alway try to do your talking outside and never give them a chance to come in to your home. Works most of the time, and a video camera at the widow is not a bad idea, just to keep them honest.

Thank the heavens the conservative government here in Kanuckistan have just now won a majority of votes needed to get rid of the gun registry. At least now, if the cops invite themselves in, they’ll have one less fish to fry on their thinly veiled fishing expeditions,

“However, Nealon was quick to point out there still are no suspects in this case, nor is there concrete evidence suggesting foul play is involved.” If there’s no evidence of foul play what makes them think the girl is going to be sitting in someone’s house? This is why we have the fourth amendment in the US. For now. This sounds really sketchy.

Continental Congress 2009
Dear Patriots and Friends of We The People Foundation:
As I write this letter, I realize how many of you have been receiving WTP information and updates over many years. I have been so grateful for your interest, support, strength and encouragement on this challenging journey, to protect and defend the letter and spirit of our Constitution of The United States of America.
Since its inception, WTP has stood for Constitutional Obedience without exception, striving to hold our elected officials accountable to the finest governing documents ever given to mankind. Anything less than full compliance with our Constitution and Bill of Rights is unacceptable.
After years of rationally and intelligently Petitioning the Government for Redress of violations of numerous provisions of the Constitution with no reasonable response, and especially now as violations to the Constitution escalate with devastating effects on our country and citizens, we have turned our focus to Continental Congress 2009 knowing that this is the appropriate next step for a FREE People to take.
Since last December, we have been diligently working to convene a Continental Congress for America from November 9th through the 24th, to conclude on the eve of our Thanksgiving holiday.
Over the years, I have learned well that anything worth having does not come easily. We are in need of immediate funding for this project. We here at WTP have done everything we can to lay out the Vision; prepare the way for its fulfillment and set in motion that which will bring success.
It is now up to you, The People, to support it or not. It is up to The People to join with us to carry it forward. It is up to The People now to stand together in number to make the difference that will save America.

Looks like nobody’s allowed to smoke weed or have a gun cabinet in their livingroom for a while otherwise they could get raided by SWAT. Also, they should stop cooking dinner in their kitchens for a while because steam on windows can be sufficient evidence to call in a drug raid. Most of all, they need to get rid of all palestinian flags or signs of opposing points of view… these things can lead to having your money taken because you’re a terrorist supporter.

“Nealon said police will be asking residents to allow them to take “a quick peek” inside their homes.
Unless they find something suspicious, the officers will then move on to the next home. With so little to go on in the missing person’s case, much of the search will come down to instinct, Nealon said, adding the plainclothes officers will be paying particular attention to body language.
However, Nealon was quick to point out there still are no suspects in this case, nor is there concrete evidence suggesting foul play is involved.
Nealon said while residents are “well within their right” to refuse police access to their home, he believes most people will want to help.”

They need permission to search your house. If not granted they need a warrant based on reasonable suspicion. If you deny them the search you become a suspect. If you grant them a search, who knows what they will find to associate you with crime? A mirror and a straw? A scale? A cup from the same restaurant she was recently seen at? This is a no win situation. Either you allow an unjustified search or they target you. How about getting some evidence or leads before they start searching homes. Geez. She’s probably run away with her 35 year old boyfriend. This is when they violate your rights and people say, “Well if you have nothing to hide, what are you afraid of?” I’m afraid of tyranny!

The letter of the law clearly states they must have “Probable Cause”,

They are more interested in looking through women’s lingerie drawers with their waxed arms than finding missing people, which fits into NWO plans for tyrrany. Even if I didn’t know we were turning into a fascist oligarchy, I think I would still have a problem with allowing random searches like this. In fact, I think this is yet another test the state is doing to see just how complacent we have gotten with authority, what a great measuring stick to see just how much further one has to go to get us into total submission.

This is just the start of this type of thing. Asking permission is the first step, and then if something terrible happens, a law is passed making warrantless searches the standard.
I don’t understand the logic though. A person with something to hide ISN”T going to let in the police to look around, are they?
People who have done nothing wrong? Some will let the police in to look around, but there’s no evidence of anything, so what good does that do for the police?
Anyways, I wouldn’t let the police in without a warrant, even though I have nothing to hide.

Just remember it wasn’t that many years ago in the USA that Police didn’t need a warrant to enter your house nor were they required to inform you of your so called “rights”. That is a recent evelopment that took place in memory of many alive today. Of course back then people used t be able to carry guns to the bank and court and no one said shit about it.

I would let them in, do their business, go on to the next house. However, while they are in my place everything would be videotaped.

So all you people who are totally appalled with what the police are doing to find this girl…
If your son/daughter was missing… would you still petition the police department AGAINST door to door inquiries because it is against the principles of liberty and fiscally irresponsible?
If the police said they were setting up a door to door canvasing of your neighborhood and surrounding areas to find your child…would you tell them no? That they have to find some other way of looking for your child?
I’m betting no.
I’ve noticed many of you have no problems talking smack when you aren’t the one in the cross hairs.. Point the gun back at yourself and tell me you wouldn’t want the same thing?

they put it in the news so they may smoke them out into population so the public can call in tips and undercover can do there jobs. The way most of you think is what we want .Anger and panic and confussion can be some of the greatests assets the police need criminals to feel to make them make a mistake.
