Our troubles with Hank started back when he was CEO at Goldman-$achs. Hank helped launch the masked bogus financial instruments called "derivatives" which are at the Heart of the Global Meltdown of Banks around our Planet.

Next, at the invitation of GwB, Hank skipped over to the US Treasury, where his months of failures to act made things worse. When the World Economy had festered to the point of near collapse– a week before Congress was to go home to hit the Campaign Trail – Hank laid a 3-page Bailout Plan before them, and said, "take it or leave it." BTW, if you don’t take it – while you’re out of Washington — the World as you know it will collapse. There will be Rioting in the Streets of America, requiring us to declare Martial Law. Obediently, Congress swallowed Hank’s Bailout Pig, whole.
Now, barely a month later, Hank is telling us what he already knew from the beginning: that the $700,000,000,000 he got from Congress to Bailout distressed homeowner mortgages couldn’t be done soon enough to make any difference. That’s why, thus far, his Bailout Czar Neel Kaskari (also imported from Goldman-$achs) has NOT bought ONE SINGLE distressed mortgage.
Instead, Hank announced: I changed my mind. This money is only going to Bailout my buddies who are Bankers. After all, they have lost the most from all this. Sorry: no money for homeowners! But not to worry. Someday it will trickle-down, just like Ronnie Reagan and Uncle Miltie Friedman told us it would. We’re going to give the money to big banks to buy smaller banks, so they can become "too big to fail". What Hank really means is that he hopes they will become "to big to regulate".
When Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosie – who had filled Hank’s playpen with bales of cash – announced that Congress might take back some of Hank’s money to Bailout the nearly bankrupt US Auto Industry, Hank replied sharply, "NO! This is my pile. I swiped it. You approved it. It’s mine! Go get your own pile to play with from American taxpayers. They’re too dumb to care!"

This article is so correct at the end on their excuses as to why the bailout money cannot be spent on auto makers.
It is very hypocritical to say it is O.K. for him to spend the money on something else.

I’ll probably find more change in between my sofa cushions than what I will see in this country. Others posters have said, and I agree, Americans are braindead. They don’t think anymore, they let television, computers and cell phones (with cool text messaging features) think for them. Somewhere along the line we lost our ability to discern reality, maybe after Close Encounters of the Third Kind? Iran, the world’s fourth-largest oil producer, is under U.N. and U.S. sanctions over its disputed nuclear programme and is now also facing declining revenue from its oil exports after crude prices tumbled.
“With the plans of the presidency…the country’s money reserves were changed into gold so that we wouldn’t be faced with many problems in the future,” presidential adviser Mojtaba Samareh-Hashemi was quoted as saying by business daily Poul.
He gave no figures or other details.
Before oil prices plunged by more than 60 percent from a peak of $147 per barrel in July, Iran made windfall gains from its crude exports and in April estimated its foreign exchange reserves at about $80 billion.
Iranian officials in July denied reports Iranian banks were moving funds from Europe, with one report suggesting as much as $75 billion had been withdrawn and converted into gold or placed in Asian banks, because of a threat of tightening sanctions.
The International Monetary Fund said in August that if the price of Iranian crude fell to $75 a barrel, Iran would face a current account deficit in the medium term that would be tough to sustain due to Tehran’s financial isolation.
On Friday, U.S. crude fell $1.20 at $57.04.
Gold futures ended more than 5 percent higher on Friday and bullion ended the week about $10 higher compared with its last Friday’s close of $735.95 as investors covered short positions.

#27 good post, lots of angst I like that. There is a lot of truth in what you say, the educational system no longer teaches people to think critically therein lies a huge problem. Without critical thinking it is impossible to discern truth from lies. I see this in my career (and other fields) where standards and computer software have replaced professional critical thinking. Then you have government regulators that enforce the standards and codes thus reducing or eliminating professional critical thinking. We have given up our rights to think for ourselves, the vast “foundation” of knowledge and learning have erected a superstructure for us that allows us “leisure” from thinking on our own. Question this in your own chosen profession, how much of what you do to make money relies on some kind of standardized process that “allows” you limited choices within an established framework. Of course you may say but the choices are mine, to choose which answer, A, B, or C. But the choices have been pre-arranged you no longer have the freedom to think outside the box the system does the thinking for you and you just check a box, and sometimes the regulators don’t even allow you to check which box you want.

Who’s holding Paulsen accountable? Who’s monitoring his responses and behaviors? As with all large corporations…someone is always in charge. If a president and vice president of a large corporation were embezzling the shareholders and investors money…who would be the one in charge of removing them from the premises and file charges against them? This is an interesting question for all of us… the shareholders to The United States of America. Have we lost perspective of who we are? No. What we are experiencing are the limitations strategically put in place, causing us to become complacently accepting and allowing a handful of people (in comparison to the amount of taxpayers…shareholders) to take over the financial sector of OUR CORPORATION.
They’ve been caught with their pants down and they will be resisted if that is truly what the people desire. It’s a scientific fact that THAT which you focus on…you draw to you. Like a magnet. The larger the object (which in this case is our financial economy and the shysters in charge), the more energy is gravitated towards it…whether you are aware of it or not. If you think and feel America is going down in firey flame, than we’ll see the results if there a alot of you that feel and think that way. However, I do not think or feel that way at all. I truly believe the generations walking this earth today have observed the past, acknowledge our history and believe the stories told by our grandparents, to know better than to believe this country is controlled by banksters. I’m sure the crooked one’s pulling the strings right now would love for all of us to think and feel that way though.
If you signed the credit or loan application…your signature generated the transaction…no other. We need to teach our children how to acquire THINGS without credit. I don’t suppose anyone thought about setting their entire families up with the same health care benefits provided by an employer or corporation. Not only that, the family would also reap the rewards of the tax breaks and tax benefits of having your family set up as their very own entity or trust with the same commercial processes our own government intends to us to insure us…the taxpayer. It can be done. Just a thought. Truth is…you can use the commercial processes to ensure OUR corporation be IMMEDIATELY bonded and insured by the very energy that generates the system…us…the taxpayers. They’ve hid the truth in plain sight, but taught us to hate the system so that we won’t engage in it and use the mechanism and processes provided IN PLAIN SIGHT.
After all, OUR corporation and its subsidiaries could NEVER take their shareholders and investors to court to enforce anything on them. Interesting they’ve successfully led the people to believe otherwise. What a bunch of goons. Even snipers retire. They might want to watch their backs before the people finally exert their power and hold them accountable. Maybe the shareholders and investors have decided to close this bank (…I mean government) down and start a fresh new company with a new name, new money, new everything. Our corporation has the power to do that now, but unfortunately someone in charge allowed the entire skull and bones fraternity into our government. Now whose fault is that?

The powerful and the rich are in control of this country, not to mention many others. I am only on chapter nine and this book has truth to questions my husband has been saying all along. I will defend my liberty, my freedom and my family at all cost. These evil people are just bidding their time on this earth. They all live in death. That will only make sense to some.

Just think of what would of happened to the U.S. founding fathers if they had been captured and taken to face charges in front of the King of England. For them it was all or nothing, and it appears the same ultimatum is what we face today.

You know, I think this is enough to anger anyone. Most of the things that have gone on in the past 8+ years is. However, what can we do about it? Think about it. If we try to resist or revolt martial law will be declared. Most of the people in the US are unaware of what the gov has in store. They have no clue. To be honest, I don’t think the majority want to know. They want to keep on living the lives they have. They are so unprepared for what is to come. So tell me how we can possibly change what is going on. It is quite obvious that is doesn’t matter what we tell our congress and representatives. In the end, they are still going to do what they want. When you vote them out you never know what you are getting in next. The next one could be worse than the one before. I would seriously like to here some suggestions on what we should do as a country to fix this. I just don’t think it is possible.
