Troop Movements Are not a ‘Withdrawal’

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) today made the following statement regarding the announcement that U.S. troops have left the cities and towns of Iraq and turned over formal security to Iraqi security forces.

“U.S. troop combat missions throughout Iraq are not scheduled to end until more than a year from now in August of 2010. In addition, U.S. troops are not scheduled for a complete withdrawal for another two and a half years on December 31, 2011. Rather, U.S. troops are leaving Iraqi cities for military bases in Iraq. They are still in Iraq, and they can be summoned back at any time.
“This is not a great victory for peace. On May 19, the Christian Science Monitor reported that Iraqi and U.S. military officials virtually redrew the city limits of Baghdad in order to consider the Army’s Forward Operating Base Falcon as outside the city, despite every map of Baghdad clearly showing it with in city limits. In fact, according to Section 24.3 of the “SOFA” U.S. troops can remain at any agreed upon facility. The reported reason for this decision is to ensure U.S. troops are able to ‘help maintain security in south Baghdad along what were the fault lines in the sectarian war.’
“This troop movement should not be confused with a troop withdrawal from Iraq. In reality, this is a small step toward Iraqi sovereignty as Iraqi security forces begin assuming greater control over security operations, but it is a long way from independence and a withdrawal of the U.S. military presence.”

That’s right. there will be thousands of troops in iraq and they’re talking about 68,000 in afghanistan by the end of the year. Troop withdrawal is a f---ing lie. They’re setting up the middle east union.

I just figured it out. If they send all the troops over seas then it will be much easier to take over the people, because if they were all in the states, it is that many more who may fight against this sick gov’t

brainy—Thanx. But I already know what and how they’re gonna do it. I’m thinking the first step will be july 27-31st. They’re gonna sneak ‘em in under the guise of protecting the herd and scratching our fleas for us. They’ll say it’s only temporary, just for training. After that we’ll start seeing ‘em in the streets more and more, little at a time, so nobody gets riled when they see ‘em in force. Then there will be a false flag event.

They are continuing thier efforts supporting the OPIUM trade, protecting drug lords and criminals: making millions for BLACK OPERATIONS and political kick-backs – not to mention the bribery and slave trade in its grip. Afgan military operations are not in the name of Liberty but in the name of “Drugs Profits”.

The troops are not scheduled to leave Iraq. The bases alone cost them billions of dollars to build, and part of the plan is to leave troops in Iraq in case the new world order wants to launch attacks on Russia. They need to encircle Russia first which means Iran is probably go to be invaded within three years. Just read Brzezinski’s book, The Grand Chessboard.”

The US Military is setting up shop in Iraq. They didn’t build those bases to leave in a couple of years. Nope. They’re there to stay – for at least as long as the United States lasts… which may not be all that long at the rate it’s going.
The politicians are again telling the public what they think the public wants to hear. But if we haven’t learned that what politicians say and what politicians do are two entirely different things, then we really are slow learners.
Hope and Change? Not as long as politicians that are employed by bankers are calling the shots.

fyi, we didnt build most of the bases in iraq, they are simply takeovers of Saddam’s old crap. it doesnt even get renovated…
the US doesnt need to leave troops in Iraq because by the time the US is gone, a puppet government will be there instead

The SOFA is scheduled to expire unratified on July 31, 2009. There isn’t enough time left to hold the ratification referendum and according to the reports I’ve read it would take 30 days to change the ratification law to hold a new referendum and the Iraq administration hasn’t submitted a new ratification law yet for the parliment to approve. So unless the ratification law is amended in less than 30 days to provide an extension. Or one of the governments cancels the agreement before it expires unratified. Which would give the US 12 months to get out The SOFA will expire unratified and Iraq will obtain it’s independence.
I hope they succeed. Iraq fought tragic wars with Iran and the US to a standstill. I doubt they will fail in their efforts to stabalize Iraq once the US leaves.
