Donald Trump donated $100,000 to the 9/11 Memorial Museum when he visited Saturday, according to the New York Times.
Trump left around midday to tour the museum with his wife, Melania, and barred reporters from accompanying the couple inside.
The GOP front-runner often mentions the 9/11 terror attacks in debates, pointing to the city’s response to demonstrate its resilience.
“When the World Trade Center came down, I saw something that no place on earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than New York,” Trump said in a January GOP debate.
His visit was part of a lengthy campaign trip to the Empire State as New York’s critical April 19 primary looms.
