GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has lashed out at Barack Obama in retaliation for the incumbent President’s comments about Trump at last week’s Nuclear Security Summit in Washington D.C.

In an interview on “Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson”, Trump said “Look, I’ve been very critical because I happen to think he’s incompetent as a president, and I know more about nuclear war than he will ever know.”

Obama told the media and gathered delegates Friday that Trump “doesn’t know much about foreign policy or nuclear policy or the Korean Peninsula or the world generally.”

Obama seemingly refuses to even mention Trump by name, opting instead to describe him as “the person who made the statements”.

Obama continued “The president of the United States needs to know what’s going on around the world and has to put in place the kinds of policies that lead not only to our security and prosperity, but will have an impact on everybody else’s security and prosperity.”

Trump hit back at Obama, stating “We are right now the policeman of the world. We have $19 trillion in debt that’s going to be $21 trillion dollars in debt.”

“What’s going on in this country is crazy. We have a bubble, we’re sitting on top of a bubble; and yet we’re giving military protection to Japan and Germany and Saudi Arabia and South Korea, and many, many other countries. I could keep going.”

Trump added that Obama “truly doesn’t know what he’s doing” claiming that the president is allowing the US to be taken for a ride on the world stage.

Trump repeated the incompetent charge in a speech to supporters in Wisconsin:

In related news, a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday shows that 9 out of 10 Trump backers consider their “beliefs and values are under attack.”

The survey also found that 85 percent of Trump supporters agree with the statement, “America has lost its identity,” while 78 percent “strongly agree” that they’re “falling further and further behind economically.”

The poll also found that 84 percent of Trump backers want “a leader who is willing to say or do anything to solve America’s problems,” and that 90 percent believe most “public officials don’t care what people like me think.”
