Presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump amped up his verbal attack on Hillary Clinton Sunday night, citing her husband’s infidelity and declaring her to be an ‘enabler’.
“She’s married to a man who got impeached for lying,” Trump said at a gathering in Spokane, Washington.
“He was impeached, and he had to go through a whole big process, and it wasn’t easy. He was impeached for lying about what happened with a woman,” Trump declared.
Trump then described Hillary as an “enabler” who “treated these women horribly,” referring to the multiple women who have gone public claiming they had affairs with Bill Clinton.
“Some of those women were destroyed … by the way Hillary Clinton treated them after it went down,” Trump told the crowd.
Responding to criticisms that he is alienating female voters, Trump urged “There is nobody that has more respect for women than me.”
The billionaire candidate expanded on comments he made Friday, when he told supporters in Oregon that there is “nobody in this country” who has a worse track record with women than Bill Clinton.
“He was a disaster,” Trump said, adding “I mean there’s never been anybody like this, and she was a total enabler. She would go after these women and destroy their lives. I mean have you ever read what Hillary Clinton did to the women that Bill Clinton had affairs with? And they’re going after me with women. Give me a break, folks.”
“Bill Clinton was the worst in history and I have to listen to her talking about it?” an exasperated Trump said. “And just remember this, she was unbelievably nasty, mean enabler and what she did to a lot of those women is disgraceful. So put that in her bonnet and let’s see what happens, OK?”
Trump turned back to the “woman card” issue after telling supporters in Washington that Hillary is hell bent on abolishing the Second Amendment.
“Hillary Clinton wants to take your guns away, and she wants to abolish the Second Amendment. She wants to take the bullets away.” Trump said.
“We’re going to cherish the Second Amendment. We’re going to take care of the Second Amendment.” Trump assured those gathered at the rally.
Trump’s comments have seemingly riled the incumbent President, who is reportedly ‘itching for a fight’ with the presumptive GOP nominee.
“We are in serious times, and this is a really serious job,” Obama said in a statement Friday. “This is not entertainment; this is not a reality show. This is a contest for the presidency of the United States.”
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton herself spent the best part of the weekend defending herself on the issue of the FBI investigation into her email server.
Hillary claimed that the feds have not yet attempted to contact her regarding the investigation.
“No one has reached out to me yet, but last summer, I think last August, I made it clear I’m more than ready to talk to anybody, anytime,” she said on CBS’s Face the Nation. “And I’ve encouraged … all of … my assistants … to be … very forthcoming. And I hope that this is close to being wrapped up.”
While again admitting that she made a ‘mistake’ using a home brewed server, Clinton again denied that she had used it to transfer classified material.
“It’s a security inquiry. I always took classified material seriously. There was never any material marked classified that was sent or received … by me. And I … look forward to this being wrapped up.” Hillary said.
