TSA to Conduct “More Aggressive” Gate Searches

WASHINGTON — A new, more aggressive effort by airport screeners aims to halt randomly selected passengers for a security check just before they step onto their departing plane, according to a government memo obtained by USA TODAY.

Passengers can be selected at random or for suspicious behavior, according to a TSA memo dated last Thursday. The program primarily targets riskier flights, according to the memo, which doesn’t specify how flights are singled out.
The TSA says it has done occasional checks of passengers at airport gates and that the new stepped-up effort has nothing to do with any particular threat. Rather, the effort is focused on the notion that mixing up tactics makes it harder for terrorists to monitor how security works, said TSA spokesman Greg Soule.
“It serves as a random, unpredictable layer,” Soule said.

I was working on 9/11 as an airline pilot… I KNOW that 9/11 was an inside job… now so does my family, group, and many many friends. I have a TV program on here in Richmond VA on public access and give a full hour show every year live on that fact. Plus, during the week I sometimes show AJ’s footage etc. on my taped program.

Several years ago it happened to me. I was searched as everyone is when they are going through the machine, then again later, pulled out of line before boarding the plane and all my things and my body searched to the side of other passengers boarding the plane, I was so humiliated. I told them they already checked me but they said it was a random check and they can do it anytime. I was made to sit on a chair, remove my shoes – a wand went across my chest, my back and down my legs as I stood back up. The things kept going off and they asked me if I was wearing an underwire bra, meanwhile my carry ons were being searched by someone else – I wanted to scream, seriously.

so being pulled aside and searched once isnt enough my last flight i was detained for three hours,surrounded by tsa agents local police homeland security officers and others. i missed my flight all for no good reason. i can tell you ill never fly again its just such a hassle good citizens are harrased at the airport yet i dont believe they have ever caught one terrorist in airport screening.lets face it the goverment are the ones who need to be detained and made to feel like a terrorist just for trying to fly.

Exactly the reason I won’t be visiting the USA anymore. Last summer I had a stopover in the US. (coming from The Netherlands, you know, that little allied country supporting all the US wars going on). Going through customs felt like being treated as a terrorist. The amount of hostility made me literally feel sick. And I’m just a regular guy, nothing ‘exciting’ to be found in my records. After I got back I promised myself not to return to the USA before this anti-human hysteria is over. That being said, I do like the People of the USA and have many friends whom I’ll miss dearly. I’ll pray for you the coming months. Peace.

As I was reading the posts here, I was wondering the same thing. Thats what it looks like to me too. I think its a way to keep people in their own areas, almost like a quarantine. More control of the mass public. Keep ‘em close to home. Could be.

hi guys. i dont care what country you live or were born in. we all face the same threat. the threat of a global currency, global goverment and hi tech control grid. alex jones is doing a great job with this info site and info documentories. its not enough to just come here every day, read the stories and comment. i quit my job to devote my life to fighting for freedom for everyone. i know ill never see a free world in my lifetime.. wars everywhere, corrution everywhere and human right treatment in places like china,usa and everything etc. im doing it for everyone who died in 9/11, every person who was shot by a cop on the street, the ppl whp died from toxic vaccines etc.

I flew recently and had forgotten to take a hacksaw and jackknife out of my backpack I was carrying on. Security found them when the bag was x-rayed and asked if I wanted to take them back to my car. No further hassles. In the same airport I saw a guy praying presumably to Allah and no security guards appeared to care…hmm I guess neither of us were on the no fly list. Mybe I just dont write my congressmen enough.

This is a good thing. Thorough warrant less searches protect our freedoms and liberty from those who might take over our nation and set up fascist activities like random warrant less searches at airports.

I have been searched every time. Its second nature, but I joke and laugh with the fools while they search and search and search and fear monger! Next time you travel look for the SSSS in the upper right hand of your boarding pass. If you see it, get ready for a hassle

I am retired after serving as an instructional supervisor for TSA for over 5 years. Before that I was a state police officer assigned to CATX state run airports going back to 1973 when we did this the first time. None of these conspiracy theories can be supported by even the most basic investigations. Granted, the bulk of IED’s on U.S. aircraft are criminal in nature, that is small comfort to the dead. HAZMAT smuggling, insurance fraud and plain old homicide filled my days for 35 years. I have been personally involved in the interceptions of suspicious persons, including illegals from the mideast. I am sorry I cannot disclose as such information is classified. There is also the weekly incident reports known inside TSA as the “Weekly Funnies.” They are also restricted but I do wish the public could see them so they might understand how stupid passengers look. It is a pleasure to watch professional fliers breeze through the system after dealing with hippies and tax protesters trying hide their guns in tin foil, smuggle HAZMATS and even snakes! Yes, people have tried to carry on kitchen sinks. Clerics are notorious for smuggling and terrorists posing as clerics is cliche’ ,especially when former renta-fuzz screeners would not screen “a man of the cloth” as he was “Christian.” I do regret that after a professional Israeli style system was set up, congress mandated the hire of “displaced” workers–many of these were seriously missemployed as national security officers and many still though they were working for the airlines. Some tried to screw things up with the idea that everything would go back the way it was and their freinds would come back–most who could not work for the government due to background “legal disabilities.” I wish I had the space to tell you how many times airplanes diverted because of jerks and fighters or suspicious items. If the public knew how many fires burn in cargo bays or poisonous snakes get loose, they would not fly–which is why the funnies are classified. I wish Americans would grown up. By they way, nothing is being done now that was not being done in 1973. The Nation went from 12 highjacking a week to zero for five years–then the airlines used every lobbying trick to reduce the program to a P.R. show.
The airlines even opposed installing fences to keeps drunk drivers and cows off the runways!
Just wait a while and the current program will be trashed as well.
