U.S. Inflation to Appear Next in Food and Agriculture

The National Inflation Association today released the following statement:
“While most mainstream economists such as Nouriel Roubini are warning of deflationary threats to the U.S. economy, it is our belief that massive price inflation has already begun. The Federal Reserve’s policy of massive monetary inflation in 2009 has caused the Dow Jones to bounce over 50% from its low, oil to rise 100% from its low, and gold to surge to a new all time nominal high. One NIA co-founder just saw his health insurance premium rise 16% over a year ago; and the average tuition for a four-year public college increased this year by 6.5%.
Prices are rising all around us, yet agricultural commodities have for the most part been left behind and remain at historically depressed levels. Fundamentals for agriculture are improving on a daily basis. A worldwide shortage of farmers combined with food inventories falling to record lows is setting up the perfect storm for an explosion in agriculture prices. There is a huge opportunity today to invest at the ground-floor into what will likely be one of the biggest boom industries of the next several decades.
Wheat is currently down 60% from its all time nominal high set in 2008 and 80% from its inflation adjusted high set in the 1970s. Corn is currently down 50% from its all time nominal high set in 2008 and 75% from its inflation adjusted high set in the 1970s. Wheat and corn have only bounced 13% and 26% from their 52-week lows this year respectively. While sugar has faired much better and is now at a 28-year nominal high, sugar is still down 70% from its inflation adjusted high set in the 1970s.

With crude oil back above $80 per barrel, we will soon see a renewed interest in alternative energy. This will create increased demand for wheat, corn and sugar which are used to make ethanol and other biofuels. A massive rise in agriculture prices is just around the corner.
We receive countless emails on a weekly basis asking about if Real Estate is now a good investment and if rents will likely climb during hyperinflation. While rents will increase nominally during hyperinflation, they will plummet compared to agriculture. No longer will Americans eat more than most other countries, yet spend less of their income on food. When Americans are forced to pay more for food, it will take away from what they can spend on rent.
The average American consumer today spends approximately 30% of their income on housing and only 10% of their income on food. We expect these numbers to reverse in the years ahead as the U.S. dollar loses its purchasing power. In Germany during hyperinflation, rents fell from 30% to less than 1% of the average households’ expenditures while food rose from 30% to a high of over 91%.
The U.S. is currently the world’s largest exporter of wheat and corn and the fifth largest exporter of sugar. When American consumers purchase food at their local supermarket, they are competing against consumers from all around the globe. As the Federal Reserve prints trillions of dollars out of thin air and causes our currency to lose its purchasing power, Americans won’t be able to afford to eat as much and farmers will be forced to increase their exports to countries with stronger currencies.
When it comes to an apartment in the U.S. that a landlord is trying to rent to a tenant, there is no global market to drive rent prices up. The rents landlords receive depend on the strength of the local U.S. economy. With unemployment continuing to surge and a huge glut of homes on the market, it is only a matter of time before real rent prices decline and become a smaller monthly expense than food.
While Americans will eat less in the years ahead, Chinese citizens will be able to afford to eat more. Despite China’s rapidly growing economy, there are major food shortages in China. Chinese agriculture companies have a chance of becoming the market’s biggest gainers of the next decade. Keen-wa(?) stores longer than rice, (similar as per cooking)- but has plenty-more nutrients.
A storable broth, or stock- (plain rice/beans gets old in a hurry).

I have some beautiful land-an acre right here in the city. No one is interested in helping start a community garden, but they soon will! In the meantime, land tax continues to rise and I may be forced to sell it if things don’t get better. Land is scarce here in the big city.

Storing food is a good idea, but be careful of what you store! I don’t know if you read Naturalnews.com But there has been numerous articles over the last few monthes about foods that contain High Fructose Corn Syrup, And a little known substance called HMF that is produced when HFCS is heated and added to foods! It is a toxic substance that can harm and even kill people.
But just thought you might like to know about it! I have my plans made, and arranged well for the past few years!

I noticed over the last couple of years on my commute into the city from where I live, which is out in a rual area. The corn crops that are always planted are never harvested, even though they had a good growing year. Is our govenment paying these farmers off not to harvest, and if so for what reason?

I live in an area that is nothing but farm ground all around me,,, Ive lived here most my life except way back when,,, I noticed this year especialy that the chem trailing was way intense in the spring,,, made it rain in torrents,, really hard for the farmers to plant,,, and this fall more chem trailing making it rain in buckets and so the farmers couldnt harvest ,,, layed the wheat right down to the ground,,,not a very good crop this year,,,ifin it makes it to spring and ya got some seeds ,, grow what ya can,,,and for kj ,,,if we meet up some day and you are starving and ask nicley,, Ill cook you a meal and feed ya,,but if you try and steal my food or water or hurt anyone close to me cuz you were stupid,, then well you figure the rest out

It maybe maize cattle feed. They leave this siting for ages until all the leaves are dead. The other reason could be that the price may be artificially low for that type of corn and it may not be worth it.
2010 is the year that the elite will implement “Codex Alimaniterious” which is a population reduction plan using starvation. The wall street speculators have a ton of bail out money. they may be driving the price down to push it up this winter.

But the Government has in the past, and I presume they still do, pay farmers either not to grow, or to leave it sit and rot, to keep food prices up, and artificially inflated!
As far as eating ANY food from China, NO THANKS! I ‘ll grow my own!!! Those idiots use too many vastly toxic substances and chemicals that actually alter Human DNA, let alone just causing death or some crap!!

Just remember people, you can only stock up on so much food and it only stores so long.
It is very important to learn how to produce and store your own food, as well as to learn how to gather and utilize the wild foods out there. Only a couple of generations ago, ALL of our ancestors had these skills. Very few people have them now.
If you don’t grow a garden, you need to start. Even if you can only grow a few things in pots on your porch, get some seeds and start.
If you don’t hunt, you need to start. Even if you’re just out there plinking squirrels, it’s still food. If you don’t know about the wild edible plants in your area, you need to learn.
If you don’t own some sort of livestock, you need to start. Even if you just have a couple of laying hens or a pair of rabbits, that’s still an ability to produce some food.
It’s no longer possible to do it all on your own, so it’s also time to start locating your neighbors who are also doing the above and will have a little excess to trade for your excess.
Believe me, if you can’t do the above, you and your family just aren’t going to make it through this crisis as it develops.

Sorry, but chemtrail fallout doesn’t hurt just farm produce. It hurts wild foods too. Mushrooms especially have a tendency to absorb toxic amounts of barium fallout.
Barium poisoning mimics flu symptoms. That is why the swine flu hoax is so important to pull off on the public.
We’re reacting to the symptoms of the problem, rather than dealing with the problem itself – govt’s history of spraying the hell out of us and taking away our health. Unless we stop this insane polluting of our atmosphere, we’re tanked. I’m not a scientist. I don’t know how to disable these planes or deal with the chemical poisoning. You can bet govt won’t stop this on its own because we’re already set up for depopulation.

I agree, and there are ways of getting the wild foods “detoxified”, but I am not sure of all the ways of doing it!
But you can, at the moment, buy and grow Mushrooms indoors in self-perpetuating kits. That will keep alot of the stuff out of the things that you like to eat! You can also build inespensive greenhouse style buildings that work well year round! And they don’t have to be large, just functional!!!

Actually, the Wal*Mart in our town carries a few of the “mountain house” freeze dried foods. About a month ago I picked up a beef stew and spaghettti. It was in their camping section and don’t expire until 2016. They cost around $4.50 each. Good investment and I can pick up a few here and there as my budget allows.

I HOPE THIS ARTICLE IS RIGHT. I AGREE WITH THE SHORTAGE OF FARMERS BUT I DON’T AGREE WITH FOOD INVENTORIES BEING VERY LOW. THEY WERE VERY LOW IN ‘08 BUT I THINK THE BINS ARE FILLING UP FAST. I DON’T KNOW IF AGRICULTURE IS A GOOD PLACE TO INVEST. IN THE PAST IT HASN’T BEEN. I SUPPOSE HYPERINFLATION COULD CAUSE PRICES TO STAY HIGH BUT I WOULDN’T COUNT ON IT. I don’t know about anyone else, but my grocery bill has risen a great deal in the last couple of years. Also, companies are getting downright BLATANT about their product shrinkage. For example, I buy Ziploc bags a couple of times per month. Just recently they went from containing 20 to containing 18. I could site you several examples. To me this is OUTRIGHT THIEVERY!!! I mean, we’re paying more for less.

300% rise in prices from 3 years ago. Of course the food
corporations are THIEVES; 99% of corporations now are.
Packages that were 1 pound are now 12 oz. Those that
were 8 oz are now 5, but the price GOES UP. The food
quality has also come down, and we noticed Publix has
started putting red food dye into their meat to make old
meat look like its still fresh, (ever see bright red GRAVY?).
Our nation has been hijacked by CRIMINALS. Only a
complete PURGE of NWO Luciferians and stool-pigeons
can bring our country back. It could very well be too late.

A few things I like about the Publix in our area; their “buy one get one free” and their gallon water is only 69 cents. And, we usually keep 30 on hand at one time. Shoot…the Dollar Store charges $1 for their gallons.
And for those days you don’t want to deal with the Wal*Mart crowd, It’s much more peaceful.

I grow potatoes in old car tyres. You can get a great yield in a small space even if it’s only a bit of concrete. If you live somewhere hot the soil gets too hot so then plant potatoes on newspaper and ols straw. For loads of really good food production in small space tips just google Permaculture. It works in the city and suburbs plus anywhere in the wild even on poor ground.

Everybody should be storing food and all other necessities. Next year they will try and cause food shortages. It’s the next step after the flu pandemic. By causing a breakdown in the distribution phase of food supply they can empty the shops in three days. Most of the population live in cities or high density suburbs.
The global elite plan to use food as a weapon. Throughout history it has been used as a weapon. Also, If you think about it, These vampires want to exterminate the majority so why do they need a food supply chain from farm to food store? I’m storing food and micro farming using the principles of “Permaculture” (Google this and study) . Any plan is always better than no plan at all. The wrong thing to do is Nothing! At least 70% of the population will do nothing and are unaware of what’s coming down the tracks.
To search out good storables just go down to the supermarket and start learning all the sell by dates. Tins of Tuna and sardines will go four years. Dried beans and rice will go two if properly stored in plastic containers. A big freezer is great but remember that it needs constant power.
It’s worth remembering that almost a third of the world’s population subsist on very basic foods like beans and rice. Even a two year stash is relatively inexpensive. I never buy on the internet but with cash from a variety of different sources. This way nobody can know that you have stored food unless you tell them. I even have roasted coffee beans for grinding and airtight tea. I use this in rotation but always have enough for 18 months with no re-supply.

Good advice Danny. I have canned foods that don’t expire until 2012. Thanks for reminding us on the expriation of rice. I just went and looked at ours and it expires in 2011! We better start using and replacing.

You can extend the shelf life of any dry foodstufs by vacuum packing. I bought a foodsaver a couple of years ago and it works great. Also bought an Excalibur dehydrator which is awesome. You can dry pretty much anything in one of these. Most of my tomatoes and peppers went into the dehydrator.

To illustrate how precious metals hold their value,when I was a kid in the sixties,gasoline was .25 cents/gal.
Today,that same silver quarter is worth over $4.00 in silver….enough for a gallon of gas!
That same quarter that bought a gallon 40 years ago will still do it today!
I would work a week for an ounce of gold($1040.),my grandfather would work a week in the 1920’s for the same ounce ($30.00/oz).
Dump dollars,stocks,401K’s and transfer them to real money while you’re still able to.

Right now silver is a good buy. You want to get junk silver dimes, quarters and halves. Don’t forget to pick out all the real copper pennies in your change. Another thought; nickels are 75% copper and 25% nickel. I believe they will also hold their value because of the metal content. If everybody who is awake did this we would have a ready and functional currency to trade with when the time comes.

Another food storage tip; spaghetti stores pretty much forever if kept dry. Whenever I go to the store I always pick up a few items for the survival closet. When I have enough stuff it goes into a box with the contents and date on the outside. Dry goods like rice and beans go into plastic buckets after being vac packed. Sardines are a good protien source without all the mercury. Don’t forget to store herbs and spices salt and sugar. You’ll enjoy your food better and will have valuable barter items. Solutions not lamentations!!

AS a Grain Farmer, they fail to mention how the Banks, Chicago Board of trade and USDA use propaganda to keep the prices paid to farmers low. Pig and dairy farmers have been losing money for 2.5 years. Grain farmers are at just above break even prices, if they have big yields. The goal of the Government is to put private farmers out of business, and only have corporate farmers survive. Farmers are paid approx. $18 per acre to report when they planted and what they planted to the Government. Who do u think is getting most of this money? Big Corp. Farmers that don’t need it or large land owners who inflate the rents $18 per acre. Alex Jones should really do a story on the Farm Progam. The average American would be shocked to find out that USDA’s farm program looks like something out of Nazi Germany. Alex need’s a video of a Farmer going to his local USDA dept to sign up his crops. Farmers have to sign up every year. They have Sat photos of your fields and mark each one with the crop planted and the planting date and what method of planting(no-till or conventional) . U must provide a copy of a rental agreement if you don’t own the farm. Then they ask all kinds of personal questions like do u owe on your equipment. To whom. Where do u do your banking. How many empoyees do u have. Anyway u get the point. I failed to mention farmes must make appointments ahead of time and the sign at the door says no cell phones , video or photography allowed.
