UK government nationalizes Bradford & Bingley

The British government is nationalizing troubled mortgage lender Bradford & Bingley, the Treasury confirmed Monday, taking over the bank’s 50 billion pound ($91 billion) mortgage and loan books as turmoil from the U.S. credit crisis spread across Europe.

The sweeping move is intended to preserve financial stability, Prime Minister Gordon Brown told reporters at his Downing Street office.
“We will work night and day to make sure that Britain can come through fairly this downturn,” Brown said.
The move comes hours after Dutch-Belgian banking giant Fortis NV was partially nationalized with a 11.2 billion euros ($16.4 billion) rescue from the governments of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, after investor confidence in the bank disappeared last week. Germany’s second biggest commercial property lender, Hypo Real Estate Holding AG, said Monday it had secured a multibillion euro line of credit from several banks, as the financial turmoil in the United States spread further in Europe.
The government has also paid out 18 billion pounds ($33 billion) to facilitate the sale of Bradford & Bingley’s savings business, including its entire retail branch network, to Spain’s Banco Santander.
Santander, the second largest bank in Europe, said it will be paying 612 million pounds ($1.1 billion) for Bradford & Bingley’s 197 branches and 20 billion pounds of deposits.
Bradford & Bingley is the third major British bank to run into trouble since credit crunch began just over a year ago. Northern Rock PLC was nationalized in February, and HBOS PLC sold itself to Lloyds TSB Group PLC on Sept. 18, to stem a sharply falling share price.

An icelandic bank “Glitnir” has just been bought by the icelandic goverment they where about to go bankrupt and the goverment bought 75% of the bank for 84billion icelandic KR…. The banking system of iceland is in bad shape and the airline company FL group is about to go bankrupt becouse of its ties to Glitnir…

This is part of the plan where bankers will emerge as rulers. Most of you may know that the elites have huge control & influence over government of alot of countries out there. This nationalizations may also mean more power to the bankers.

Imagine a state-controlled economic model rather than a free market one. In a state controlled economy they have more power over the people and that allows them a wide range of options to choose from. What’s most worrisome is the food and they can certainly mess with the prices as they see fit.

All right. Looking at things logically in the “war” for our minds, it seems that we are not growing fast enough in equivalent to “them” coming out with all these laws, rules, regulations, and upscaled brutality. There are still so many people to “waken up”, but I see there is one thing that will get the people to muster together to the point of believing people like this group who bravely met and had their “down with the regime” conference.
Most people say here and some have even called into Alex Jones’ radio show to say that they are having such a hard time getting others to believe the “truth” stories. Yes, many have “awakened”, but percentage-wise, it is small. There is only one thing that will snap all the nation’s people to finally “get it”, where people who are like this brave group and those handing out “truth” DVD’s or flyers, will be able to be listened to almost immediately. That one thing might happen in the next 40 days or maybe an additional 75 days or so. It was said here by others and has been spoken about for years, starting from the Clinton era before he left office.
The only thing that will snap the entire country into “awakefulness” or realization of the “truth”, is to have Marshal Law, to stop either the presidential election somehow or to stop the transfer of power over to the president elect. All other Constitutional laws have been broken by this regime and the people have accepted it, but it seems that they want to have the Constitutional election. So what we need is to have that Marshal Law which seems to be the only thing that the people are saying that they will accept for stopping an election by the Constitution.
If the election or transition of power is done, then I would tend to believe that we really are in trouble because no one would transfer power, which technically is the same thing as giving oneself up to the authorities for crimes committed, unless that person(s) was assured of a safe haven and if a safe haven is available, that means that whomever is taking over the power position would be condoning all crimes committed and therefore would be just as bad as this regime. That allowance of the transfer of power would then obviously be done for a facade, to help fool the people, making it look like “CHANGE” actually is happening, when it would not be.
MARSHAL LAW (or the stoppage of the presidential CHANGEover) IS OUR SAVIOR that will gather the people together in one fell swoop that is not happening now,
