UK Government To Install Surveillance Cameras In Private Homes

The UK government is about to spend $700 million dollars installing surveillance cameras inside the private homes of citizens to ensure that children go to bed on time, attend school and eat proper meals.
No you aren’t reading a passage from George Orwell’s 1984 or Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, this is Britain in 2009, a country which already has more surveillance cameras watching its population than the whole of Europe put together.
Now the government is embarking on a scheme called “Family Intervention Projects” which will literally create a nanny state on steroids, with social services goons and private security guards given the authority to make regular “home checks” to ensure parents are raising their children correctly.
Telescreens will also be installed so government spies can keep an eye on whether parents are mistreating kids and whether the kids are fulfilling their obligations under a pre-signed contract.
Around 2,000 families have been targeted by this program so far and the government wants to snare 20,000 more within the next two years. The tab will be picked up by the taxpayer, with the “interventions” being funded through local council authorities.
Another key aspect of the program will see parents deemed “responsible” by the government handed the power to denounce and report bad parents who allow their children to engage in bad behavior. Such families will then be targeted for “interventions”.
Both parents and children will also be forced to sign a “behavior contract” with the government known as Home School Agreements before the start of every year, in which the state will dictate obligations that it expects to be met.
The opposition Conservative Party, who are clear favorites to win the next British election, commented that the program does not go far enough and is “too little, too late.”
Respondents to a Daily Express article about the new program expressed their shock at the totalitarian implications of what is unfolding in the United Kingdom under the guise of social services initiatives.

“Sorry, but what the hell? Why are people not up in arms about this?,” writes one, “This is a complete invasion of privacy, and it totally ignores the fact that the state does NOT own kids. It’s not up to them how parents choose to raise their children, as long as the parents do not actively harm them. Why on earth aren’t the public rioting? It’s completely anathema to basic British freedoms.”
“Excuse me!?! What an incredible intrusion into the privacy of a family! George Orwell must be spinning in his grave right now,” writes another.
“I have one comment to make: it completely violates Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights (Human Rights Act 1998). Has this minister and his lackies even done any basic homework on basic human rights and civil liberties? Or rather they’ve just decided to completely ignore them,” adds another.
The move to install surveillance cameras inside private homes is also on the agenda across the pond. In February 2006, Houston Chief of Police Harold Hurtt said cameras should be placed inside apartments and homes in order to “fight crime” due to there being a shortage of police officers.
“I know a lot of people are concerned about Big Brother, but my response to that is, if you are not doing anything wrong, why should you worry about it?” Chief Hurtt told reporters.
Andy Teas with the Houston Apartment Association supported the proposal, saying privacy concerns would take a back seat to many people who would, “appreciate the thought of extra eyes looking out for them.”
If such programs come to fruition and are implemented on a mass scale then the full scope of George Orwell’s depiction of a totalitarian society is his classic novel 1984 will have been realized.

How about people just rig up the camera feed “Speed” style…or like in Ocean’s 11…just find a good point to repeat. There’s also no way a few people can monitor million’s so perhaps there might be an artificial intelligence used to decipher what’s going on and auto report then nothing would work. What saddens me the most is the infinite stupidity of our race. We seem unable to learn from our mistakes, our predictions, but most relevant to Jake McCandles comment, our victories. Was Ghandi not able to overthrow British rule in India without the use of weapons?
One reason we British are not up in arms is because our civil liberties have been undermined in a deliberate, slow, and subversive manner. Another because we are a nation marred with apathy. We will rise up but only when it is ‘too late,’ for want of a better phrase. What surprises me the most about this story is how little the government seems to be in touch with the electorate, or perhaps (and what is more likely) how little they care about public sentiment. I am hopeful that the day will come when we stop voting with our wallets and start using our democratic right to call the government up on what is honestly unacceptable bulls---.

Install those cameras in all Congressmens’ offices… Why should they mind? They’re not doing anything wrong, its for consumer protection. To make sure they’re tending the taxpayers interests fairly. Pilot program to start with “lobby checks”- see who is embezzling who, what bribes are changing hands, which Senator shows up for votes etc. Like for the children.

If a parient gives any cause for a child to be suspected of abuse or neglect ,this would be a great idea! I bet the parient would act right! We have done this to ourselfs!!!!!!!!! We have allowed the schools to rise our children and let laws pass, that if we would of got off our asses and voted would not be on the books!! We are more worried about what ball teams winning or who will be the next idol than what we could do to make our community better for all! Ok, some common sense here. If abusive parents stop abusing the child because they’d be caught on camera, the child still wins. It would be much better if the parent acted properly out of love rather than fear. There is an epidemic of child abuse in this world. My rational mind tells me the cameras would be a good thing – for people having a reason to be watched, a conviction or overarching suspicion, evidence. But normal, decent citizens? This smacks of thought police. Teach your children about morality, or that gay behavior is wrong, or theft, or fighting – anything – and push some beaurocrat’s button because they hate God, well, there you have it. In the NWO’s twisted mindset, children MUST be brainwashed with political correctness and NWO “doctrine”. So if the parents won’t do it, the children will be taken away.

On Monday Aug. 3rd AJ had a guest on his show that calls himself a psychiatrist. I call him a misinformation agent. It is shows like this one that convince me that AJ is nothing but a provocateur.
I am a Psychologist (by virtue of 8 years of school, and degrees). On the show in question this quack and Alex Jones were talking about involuntary institutionalization and use of psychotropic medications.
In the early part of the twentieth century there were insane asylums all over the US and they did indeed practice involuntary institutionalization and use of meds. However, in the sixties and seventies a process of deinstitutionalization began. Many asylums were closed and community mental health programs began. Laws were passed making it illegal to institutionalize individuals without their consent (unless they broke the law) even if they have a full blown psychosis. It is also illegal to make individuals take any drugs without their informed consent. These laws are still in effect and adhered to by psychological professionals.
It is clear to me that Alex Jones is a misinformation agent for the NWO trying to provoke the people into revolt. So that we can then be rounded up or taken out.

what most people dont realise in the UK is that parents hand ownership of there children to the state when they apply for the birth registration document. they then hand ownership to the state and become only the Registered Keeper of said child. its all legalees but its binding and its based on this that they can pull your kids from you, and push this crap on you, because simply put you gave your kids to the state in ignorance.

I, for one, applaud the efforts of our leaders, law enforcement and other authorities. Promoting the general welfare is one of the fundamental responsibilites delegated by our laws to our public servants and which they, I’m certain, take very seriously. The issue of terrorism and domestic violence have become two of the many areas of concern our representatives must address and which, I know, are doing and excellent job. I, too, feel that they have not done enough to protect its subjects from the evils which abound. We should never question authority but rather support and respect it. We should live with no other thought than to obey our government and pay our taxes!!! It is only fair that the people shoulder the expense for these services, after all, it’s for their own good. Please, let me take this opportunity to thank and cheer for the services our government has seen fit to provide for the masses. Thank you and hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray!!! Ok I just spent a couple hours researching this topic and can not find provisions or verifiable statements that this is actually true.
Here is what I found. Ed Balls
is seeking £400million. £200 supposedly for education programs (seems like stasi police for school children and parents) and £200 to curb anti-social behavior (how broad of a term is that? Almost like being called a terrorist in the states) by placing 20,000 “problem families” into social housing.
Now if the social housing contains CCTV inside the homes or allows for it, then this article is accurate otherwise there is something missing here.
* Either someone has inside info.
* Someone in one of these social housing…we call them projects here in the states; someone in the projects has reported cctv being installed in the units; and I can’t find the report
* Info was scrubbed from the net

I’m not saying for one moment that I agree with this, I FIRMLY don’t, but I can see both sides of the fence here.
See, the main problem, I think, is that, anyone is allowed to have children. You have to pass a test to drive a car, you have to pass exams to be a doctor, but, to have a child, you just need the right chemistry right?
There in lies the problem, for loads of reasons. The most notable one recently being the case of Baby Peter. If you’re not aware of it, google it. It’s horrifying. Also, the Shannon Matthews case.
Social Workers in the UK seem to be utter s--- at their jobs at the moment, and they’re under scrunity, and so is the UK Government, so in an effort to curb this sort of thing.
