As to why the Marines were there, I can attest, that with the Twentynine Palms Marine corps Base so near by, they are authorized to go off base and retrieve Marines who have been arrested by the local authorities. It’s possible that the ywere just trying to cut out the middle man. As to the Constitutionality of said checkpoints, that is a different story. I’m not sure about laws concerning the highway, but in most states (who are the overriding authority according to the Constitution) it is perfectly legal for a law enforcement officer to “approach and engage in conversation, without impeding….”. So is a check point with legally marked road signs an impediment? not sure. Whatever the case, the Marine MP’s should not have been there, and whatever Colonel ordered them there is an idiot for doing so. As a side note, when I entered the Marine Corps in 1996, I was given an entry survey containing a question worded something like this: “If ordered to do so, would you fire upon or attack American Ccitizens?” I said fuck no, but I wonder how many blindly said yes?

Isn’t amazing how there isn’t a law to have a drivers license unless you are a commercial driver
and that is under CALIFORNIA JURISPRUDENCE VIII License Tax-The Motor Vehicle Transportation License Tax Act imposes on transporters of persons or property for compensation a tax of 3 per centof the gross receipts from their operation. Thats the law. Look it up.

I don’t believe a word written here!!! Who did they arrest??? Who did they stop? You’d think if they stopped one car it’s gonna make national headlines, just another story to get people wound up and degrade our country. Any proof would sure be nice, besides some blurry “Fax,” that cannot be blown up and read with a normal windows program.
