Upper-Bracket Tax May Be Needed for Afghan War Cost, Levin Says

An “additional income tax to the upper brackets, folks earning more than $200,000 or $250,000” a year, could fund more troops, Levin, a Michigan Democrat, said in an interview for Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital With Al Hunt,” airing this weekend.
White House Budget Director Peter Orszag has estimated that each additional soldier in Afghanistan could cost $1 million, for a total that could reach $40 billion if 40,000 more troops are added.

Well you know as taxes get higher we just find more ways to have tax exemption. However, it wouldn’t hurt making your home a church or mosque or embassy and claim it tax exempt, thus your income is tax exempt since it get donated to your family, which you can claim as well. No laws about that. So in the end, you pay less taxes. =)
The more they tax, the more ways people will find exemptions.

I have to agree. $200k per year is not rich. It is middle class. The value of a “dollar” is nothing compared what it was just 35 years ago. Maybe back in the 60’s 200 Grand would be “rich” but certainly not now. When I was a boy we’d buy watermelons for 50 cents. Now they’re $9.00 each. I remember my Dad fearfully realizing that gas was gonna reach 75 cents per gallon some day. I’m 40. Gas isn’t getting more expensive, neither are watermelons. The dollar is losing value, and has been for decades. That fall is in overdrive now. Soon $200,000.00 per year will be chump money. Go ahead, laugh, but the days of laughter are coming to an end. s--- is getting real. People know this. Get ready for some fun times ahead, people under immense pressure and stress and fear. Uhh you might not know this…. To get around capitol gains taxes and have a 100% return with interest you only need to invest in Government investments. There is a approved list of companies you may invest in and get around taxes. You must however invest over 100k or 250k the figure has changed over the years. This way when the elites make their big dollars they profit off of the American working class even more. We pay the interest on their stealing?

You’re absolutely right. What many of the people supporting BS don’t realize is that the democraps have targeted those in the bracket of the small business owners who hire most of the slaves. I got an email written by one of those “small business” owners, and basically what he said was that whatever taxes were raised on him would have to come out of the capital to advertise for new stores, build and merchandise them and hire new people, therefore, the new stores would have to be put on hold. No new jobs.
As with any other issue in this crazy, mixed-up world, all the crap rolls downhill. They have the last laugh, because once again, the slaves will be paying the taxes passed down to us from the wealthiest 10%. They’re not doing it to be mean, it’s just good business and it keeps people employed. I’m not talking about the jerks who took our work and sent it overseas for cheap. I’m talking about the honest, hardworking businessmen who hire Americans and try everything to keep them working.

My house is a trailer, but it keeps the rain off. I don’t need a 100 bedroom mansion (too much to clean anyway). I ate breakfast and lunch, and I plan to have dinner with friends. I have several sets of clothes, while millions other places dress in rags, or sometimes don’t have any clothes or shoes. My car isn’t a Mercedes or any other expensive toy, but it gets me where I need to go.
When you’re rich, other people are always trying to get it away from you. I don’t mind not being rich.

Giving tax cuts to the wealthy. Depends what you mean by “wealthy”. The present govt is targeting small business owners. Those are the majority of employers, not the big corporations. You can only use money once. If they use it to hire people to work (as most do) and pour it back into the business, then we don’t have so much unemployment. If they have to use it for taxes, then it’s not there for business expansion or even keeping people employed. That’s why we’re seeing the unemployment numbers skyrocket.
The taxes coming off the “wealthy” are what the fat cats use to keep themselves well fed and build their deep underground military bases, and chemtrail us for depopulation purposes. Very little of that goes to feed the poor or make their lives better in any way – instead it goes to keep them sucking on the govt tit.
You’re ALWAYS going to have scumbags who will send American-needed jobs overseas just to get cheap labor. We live in a fallen world. They are the only ones who seem to get any press amongst those of us who value integrity. The other ones, working day after day, long hours and good to their employees, just get ignored. Bad press sells, it’s human nature to gossip and complain.
Given the choice between the two, I’d take the tax cuts for the wealthy any day. It trickles down into employment for me.

Let’s face it: Most people have no problem with the current wars. We’re in the minority. For example, many progressives and democrats *claim* to be against costly and fruitful wars, but actions speak louder than words. It’s more of a political football for them. If it suits their agenda they’ll act like they’re anti-war. But I’ve come to the sad realization that the majority don’t care whether or not we continue these insane wars. The “peace” movement came to an end when Obama took office. And the folks at the Tea Parties are generally pro-war. Outcasts like us are the only ones who oppose the wars at this point.

If they put all the taxes on the 200 to 250 thousand dollar folks that they keep proposing then it would be to our disadvantage to strive for that level of income.
I make a livable income and would like to make more but it is concievable that I would be better off to stop striving at the 175,000 range and be financially better off than those making 250,000.

Did you’ll see that news story last week where some fire fighters were sueing because the more qualified firemen were getting raises rather than giving the raises to the less qualified firemen?
A test was given to all the firemen on a particular level. Nobody was excluded from the tests. Raises were to be awarded to the folks that scored the highest. It just so happened that white firemen scored the higest so the department was prepared to give raises to those individuals. The raises would have come to a polka-dotted fireman had he scored high enough. There were no exclusionsbased on color,sex,religion,etc.
The guys that did not score very well filed suit based on the grounds that it was racist to expect them to actually be qualified to do their jobs rather than raises just being awarded to folks based on the color of their skin.
Well I guess it is somewhat unfair to expect folks that can’t read to be able to score high on a written test. Some day one of those guys that scored low will wind up being the Fire Chief with his assistant being someone that scored high beside him all the time soas to read the big words for him.

Just watched Camp Fema. It was really well done and informative. The film covers the history of American internment camps starting with the mass internment of Americans of Japanese decent. There was a very high percentage of natural born Americans that were put in the camps. It then chronicles the modern day programs designed to round up and imprison groups of people deemed dangerous to continuity of government. The US government has gone completely rouge and they are preparing for mass insurrection. The government is hell bent on surviving even if the American people want to change it. The taxation part is right on what RoadDog said. I have been teaching a class and holding seminars on how the corporation works for individuals who desire to incorporate and use the same rule book to their advantage for the last three years and last week I sat down and wrote a short book called “The Entrepreneurial Spirit inside the body of a Slave”
The Rich own only one thing, a corporation, which transfers liablity, avoids taxation and maintains the full power of the dollar, versus the poor slave laborer who is taught that money has value and it is smart to save money and own everything, thereby losing money and keeping the liablility.

As ALL of the wealthy on this continent stole and scammed against everyone else, they should be rounded up, interned, stripped of their profits from crime, tried, and punished. Stripped of all holdings and incarcerated for “ongoing criminal collusion against the United Staes of America”, but who are we kidding? The “nation” was a pre-planned staged crime racket from 1492, “organized to protect and pursue illegal criminal activity” in 1776.

did people real think there house was worth more everyday who scammed who. I got a 6th grade education but can smell a skunk its a hard lesson for alot of people out there. I no this is a great country and will pull out of this if people are honest with themselfs an others.

Man…I’m glad I’m not one of the upper income guys! Lets see… so far they are going to pay for the health plan, the defecit, the bail out and now the Afghan war. Sure! I’m holding my breath for that. Wait till these folks cut off the campaign contributions. What do ya think will happen then? You and I are going to pay for all this insanity and the upper income guys will keep raking in the profits…untaxed of course!
