Georgian forces, trained and equipped by the Pentagon and the U.S. government, killed 10 Russian peacekeepers early this morning in a provocation attack that has escalated into military conflict, but the subsequent corporate media coverage would have us believe that the U.S. and NATO-backed client state Georgia is a helpless victim, when in actual fact a far more nuanced geopolitical strategy is being played out.
Original reports early this morning detailed how Georgian forces had killed 10 Russian peacekeepers and wounded 30 others, which was the provocation for Russian forces to begin military operations, but the fact that Georgian forces were responsible for starting the conflagration has been completely buried in subsequent media coverage.
“Georgia and the Pentagon cooperate closely,” reports MSNBC, “Georgia has a 2,000-strong contingent supporting the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq, and Washington provides training and equipment to the Georgian military.”
The latest exercise, Immediate Response 2008, which took place last month, involved no less than one thousand U.S. troops working with Georgian troops in a war game scenario.
Moreover, the very “Rose Revolution” that brought the Harvard trained pro-US Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvilli to power in 2003 was wholly aided and abetted by the Central Intelligence Agency.
Russian fury at U.S. support for Georgia and Georgia’s aspirations of becoming a NATO member have flared regularly in recent months, with tensions also rising following U.S. attempts to place missile defense shield technology in Poland and the Czech Republic, which most observers agree has nothing to do with Iran and is in fact aimed at countering Russian military superiority in the region.
In addition, the pro-Israeli news source DebkaFile reports that Georgian infantry units were “aided by Israeli military advisors” in capturing the capital of breakaway South Ossetia, Tskhinvali earlier today.
DebkaFile elaborates on the true geopolitical significance behind today’s events.
DEBKAfile’s geopolitical experts note that on the surface level, the Russians are backing the separatists of S. Ossetia and neighboring Abkhazia as payback for the strengthening of American influence in tiny Georgia and its 4.5 million inhabitants. However, more immediately, the conflict has been sparked by the race for control over the pipelines carrying oil and gas out of the Caspian region.
The Russians may just bear with the pro-US Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili’s ambition to bring his country into NATO. But they draw a heavy line against his plans and those of Western oil companies, including Israeli firms, to route the oil routes from Azerbaijan and the gas lines from Turkmenistan, which transit Georgia, through Turkey instead of hooking them up to Russian pipelines.
Jerusalem owns a strong interest in Caspian oil and gas pipelines reach the Turkish terminal port of Ceyhan, rather than the Russian network. Intense negotiations are afoot between Israel Turkey, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Azarbaijan for pipelines to reach Turkey and thence to Israel’s oil terminal at Ashkelon and on to its Red Sea port of Eilat. From there, supertankers can carry the gas and oil to the Far East through the Indian Ocean.
Former Treasury Secretary under Ronald Reagan, Paul Craig Roberts, told The Alex Jones Show today that the entire scenario smacked of a maneuver on behalf of the Neo-Con faction controlling the White House, led by Dick Cheney. Roberts said the date was precisely picked due to the distraction of the Olympics and Bush being out of the country.
Both Condoleezza Rice and John McCain have today demanded Russia withdraw its forces from Georgia immediately.
Meanwhile, the U.S. media networks are seemingly more interested in the complete non-story of John Edwards having an affair, while a conflict that could have devastating and thunderous geopolitical consequences fizzes on the verge of explosion.
As of early Friday evening, Edwards’ extramarital shenanigans were dominating CNN and Fox News, while Drudge also afforded the story more prominence that the situation in Georgia, which was also deemed less important than the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.
One of our readers contributed the following, which explains in detail exactly what is unfolding.
Most folks on here can not or will not look up the history or facts for themselves …morons..
Those who dont learn from history are destined to repeat it..In 1992, Georgia was forced to accept a ceasefire to avoid a large scale confrontation with Russia. The government of Georgia and South Ossetian separatists reached an agreement to avoid the use of force against one another, and Georgia pledged not to impose sanctions against South Ossetia.
A peacekeeping force of Ossetians, Russians and Georgians was established at the time. And late in 1992 the OSCE set up a mission in Georgia to monitor the peacekeeping operation.
From then, until mid-2004, South Ossetia was generally peaceful.
In June 2004, tensions began to rise as the Georgian authorities strengthened their efforts against smuggling in the region. Hostage takings, shootouts and occasional bombings left dozens dead and wounded.
A ceasefire deal was reached on August 13, but it has been repeatedly violated.
Tensions in the region soared in 2008 and outbreaks of violence became increasingly frequent in the border area.
Georgia said it was an internal affair as the breakaway republic had never been recognized internationally.
The Georgian side repeatedly insisted the conflict could be resolved without outside interference.
However, early on August 8 Georgia launched a massive military offensive to take control of the republic.
A quote from another Reuters
At an emergency session of the United Nations on Thursday night, Russia failed to push through a statement that would have called on both sides to stop fighting immediately.
Council diplomats said a phrase calling on all sides to “renounce the use of force” had been unacceptable to the Georgians, backed by the United States and the Europeans.UK Times online:
Mr Saakashvili, a US-educated lawyer who succeeded Eduard Shevardnadze in 2004 and has since tried to align it more closely to the West, compared the Russian action with the invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 and appealed to the outside world to intervene.“Russia is fighting a war with us in our own territory,” he told CNN as Russian armour rolled into South Ossetia.
“It’s not about Georgia anymore. It’s about America, its values: we are a freedom-loving nation that is right now under attack.

what a moron. Russia has been aggressively trying to subdue this region through force for the last 3 centuries. Georgia has every right to protect its borders and territorial integrity. South Ossetia belongs to Georgia. How could this idot who calls himself a journalist claim that the US attacked Russian “peacekeepers” when those Russian troops were on Georgian territory? Secondly, the Russian military has been entering Georgian territory since Georgia regained its independence. Paul watson I suggest you read a book on basic East European/ Russian history.

So what!
Does the U.S. really have the means to take on the Russians right now or any time in a country on its border? Does anyone think the entire world would think we were the agressors if we moved into a nation on Russia’s borders? And don’t the Russians still have somewhere on the order of 10,00 nuclear weapons — ICBM’s, nuclear weapon carrying nuclear submarines, and nuclear weapon carrying heavy bombers? Couldn’t a conlfict between the U.S. and Russia still lead to all-out nuclear war? Whoever is at fault, what can the U.S. really do, and is it worth it?

This is unbelievably incredulous. I didn’t care about Edwards in the primaries, I don’t care about him now. The man is irrelevant to all but himself and the media.

Heck of a way to spend your Friday night Paul, huh? Well lets also add to the article that Operation Brimstone just ended, and seemingly it’s participants along with some new additions made a bee line for the gulf in the form of 2 full Super Carrier battle groups. The summation at this point is a total of 4 carrier groups and lets not forget the Isralie F-16’s parked on Iraq’s soil. A lot of fire power is building in the region at this moment. I would surmise that we will soon see if the Russian’s back down from their objection over a US missle shield in Europe. High stakes indeed.

My mind is young and I am only beginning to germinate the seeds of wisdom. All I know is that I don’t know. Any response or discourse on the following letter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this.
Letter on Globalization and Sovereign Rights
The intent of this letter is to express to all peoples who truly understand the human, natural and, sovereign rights that American citizens enjoy; especially students, the need for global progress in the area of rights that are afforded to each person by the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Education within the structure is essential in order to effectively change the negative aspects of a system which is believed to have inherent and intrinsic value but contains elements of tyranny and regression.
Students must educate themselves with the intent of progressing human kind and specifically progress toward a global society which excludes no one from the hard won freedoms that the citizens of the United States have won.
No other nations allow people to enjoy the human, natural and, sovereign rights that are provided by the protection of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
If the global society is inevitable and integration is the only possible course for survival then taking a world view and applying it to the rights that Americans have earned is essential.
Make no mistake; we are the leader in this area of progress. Education and actualization in said rights must be self-evident if other countries and their citizens choose to participate in this global system with us.
The benefits and freedoms that have been hard won over the last three hundred years should be provided to those that choose to participate with us in this time of global integration.
While cultural exchange is essential for progress, participation with those countries, peoples, or entities that choose not to extend these essential freedoms should not take place, for this is detrimental to personal sovereignty and the whole of humanity.
Inspired by Jefferson’s – “A Bill for the More General Diffusion of Knowledge”
“Whereas it appeareth that however certain forms of government are better calculated than others to protect individuals in the free exercise of their natural rights, and are at the same time themselves better guarded against degeneracy, yet experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms, those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny; and it is believed that the most effectual means of preventing this would be, to illuminate, as far as practicable, the minds of the people at large, and more especially to give them knowledge of those facts, which history exhibiteth, that, possessed thereby of the experience of other ages and countries, they may be enabled to know ambition under all its shapes, and prompt to exert their natural powers to defeat its purposes; And whereas it is generally true that that people will be happiest whose laws are best, and are best administered, and that laws will be wisely formed, and honestly administered, in proportion as those who form and administer them are wise and honest; whence it becomes expedient for promoting the publick happiness that those persons, whom nature hath endowed with genius and virtue, should be rendered by liberal education worthy to receive, and able to guard the sacred deposit of the rights and liberties of their fellow citizens, and that they should be called to that charge without regard to wealth, birth or other accidental condition or circumstance; but the indigence of the greater number disabling them from so educating, at their own expence, those of their children whom nature hath fitly formed and disposed to become useful instruments for the public, it is better that such should be sought for and educated at the common expence of all, than that the happiness of all should be confided to the weak or wicked:”
Thomas Jefferson
Also to all who say that alex does not do enough, go do your own thing and make it happen. And I say to you this:
“What is the price-current of an honest man and patriot to-day? They hesitate, and they regret, and sometimes they petition; but they do nothing in earnest and with effect. They will wait, well disposed, for others to remedy the evil, that they may no longer have it to regret. At most, they give only a cheap vote, and a feeble countenance and God-speed, to the right, as it goes by them. There are nine hundred and ninety-nine patrons of virtue to one virtuous man; but it is easier to deal with the real possessor of a thing than with the temporary guardian of it.”
Thoreau – Civil Disobedience

I don’t believe the U.S. will attack Iran during the Olympics. The Olympics are about a worldwide bowdown to the NWO. I was just watching the opening ceremony for as long as I could stomach and Switzerland actually got an inordinately loud applause — unless it’s all due to Roger Federer, which is possible. From what I can see and hear these Olympics are all about bringing China too power. As for Iran, the resulting economic collapse would be painful, but far less in my opinion than a highly potential race war under Obama.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
c’mon moshe israel, or ‘jones’. Gendering sympathy for the bloodiest nation in hitory?? wtf??
Russia/soviet union is just an elitist zionist-like spiritually dead piece of shhhht. Solzhenitzen was right….f’ russia/we shoulda took them and china out in the last century, but the bankers will have us fight’n em for ever. While they distract us with inflated war propaganda against a long lost German gov.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:33 pm
If we collapse after attacking Iran, we all share in the pain, and eventually, I think we would unite and shed tyranny, followed by a prolonged, but ideologically free, struggle against extremely sophisticated and intimidating technologies of the NWO.
However, if we go rosey posey and “hope for the best” under Obama, I’d give a 50% chance at the minimum for a horribly painful race war — after an assassination or merely an attempt — which would try the most spiritual of souls.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
This has been being set up for several years (you could say since Afghanistan 1979) now and it WILL escalate. This is about who will control the oil and gas reserves in the Caucuses (Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan etc.). It is also about penning Russia in to prevent it from challenging the Anglo-American bloc for world domination. Russia isn’t stupid…they know who the “missile defense” BS is aimed at, they know why the West is trying to add Georgia and other former Soviet republics to NATO, they know why the West blew Yugoslavia into pieces, they know what the west is up to in the middle east.
Bottom line? The “cold war” is now RED HOT (and heading for WHITE HOT). If the USA/Israel nuke Iran Russia will nuke the USA out of existence…an option that looks more logical everyday. USA-USA-USA-BOOM-NO MORE USA

Nat K-
Yes, the Obama situation kinda scares me. Im mixed and I see the set up. Most blacks are so emotionally spent on Obama that it is truly upsetting. They fail to see the trap that is being set. Hopefully that is not the case, becasue if something happens to Obama, lets just say the unrest that will result with in Black communities would be a green light for the “Feds to cleanse ” hopefully this is not the case, either by way of brainwashing which has plagued Blacks for decades or by nothing happening to Obama. The level of confidence and arrogance expressed by both Blacks and Obama is upsetting, a double wammy because their asleep sheeple at the same time. The neo-cons have way to many cards up their sleeves. Either way, I wonder when I turn 30 next March whether or not if things will be on the level of survivability as they are right now within our country. Where pro sports still play and dominos still delivers or whether martial law, detainment camps, disease, and chaos rule. There are just so many variables…….

it’s a big premeditated game where all the parts and pieces are just fitting together like a puzzle. all that needs to be know is who’s to gain from this. When that’s found out, the story unfolds.
This hegemonic attitude the US has will have to change, lotsa p****d off clients i tell you.
But tell me how ironic it is, that the leaders of the world and dignitaries (bla bla bla BS titles) are in 1 place at the same time, Beijing, and their countries are at war?
Very interesting, don’t u think
August 9th, 2008 at 12:33 am
When Israel and Hezbollah waged war…
The media acted as if full blown WW3 just began…
A much more serious situation erupting in Georgia….
The media is totally ignoring it concentrating their journalist powers on a love child affair….
What are their intentions….having us paranoid for nothing in 2006 and than not having people parnoid enough in 2008…..The sheeple that is…….I don’t get it, only time will tell, just keep seeking truth, spreading it, and taking mearsures to protect and ensure your families survivability, about all we can do at this point, the rest is in God’s hands……
We the people have been unsuccessfully trying to change aspects of our government for decades now. As time went on things only have gotten worse. Unless we take a forceful stand, nothing will change. So everyone it is time to ask your self are you a survivalist?, revoluntionist?, soldier?, nwo supporter?, or a lame sitting duck sheeple?……Time to choose and have no fear.
August 9th, 2008 at 12:50 am
Putin would never stand for this. The US government had to know that.
What in the world is going on? Are the idiots in the WH trying to start WWIII?
August 9th, 2008 at 12:54 am
The lack of media attention reflects the desire of the corporate/police state to downplay this matter. America will not become engaged directly in this conflict, but it may very well be intended to deflect the Russians’ attentions from other events like an attack on Iran. Thsi was likely scheduled for August. That would explain the U.S. urgency to get the Iraqi’s to sign a deal by the end of July allowing us to use Iraq as a staging area for attacks on other countries.
August 9th, 2008 at 1:19 am
This article is awesome! I’m spreading it around and posting the links in it on message boards. It’s getting some serious attention. The majority of people I’ve spoken with both online and in real life are getting super suspicious of the media too. Especially with the little parlor tricks that CNN and other media outlets are putting on right now with all the John Edwards crap. I just hope Iran stays out of this long enough for this to cool down.

I meant is it possible 2 countries could have an honest dispute without some hidden agenda.
I’m glad the Olympics started tonight. It’ll give me something else to do besides looking for
conspiracies every 5 minutes.

A hundred Israeli military advisers plan an attack with Georgia against Russia on the opening day of the olympics. Georgia, Israel and Russia are in the olympics yet they attack Russia on a day when nations are to set aside there differences and show there humanity to one another and the world. This is a great crime against the traditions and customs of man/woman. Thee Israel and any collaborators are thou cursed among the nations of man.
I bind thee Israel to do harm to thy self or to others.

This is a response to Swan (post 61):
Yea that’s it Swan, voodoo is gonna dissolve the State of Israel. Way to lead the pack there tiger. All those university courses really shaped you into one hell of a politician. Your linguistic skills are phenomon. How DO you come with such amazing ideas? You make Nobel-Peace Prize winners shameful for their less-than-par performance. By God, you ARE a God. If only I was capabable of such masterful wisdom as you were blessed with. Truly, Churchill is saluting you right now from beyond. May you lead us with your glory oh wisest of the wise.

I find myself wondering if this is going to be used as the reason for installing a “peacekeeping” mission in the area. After all a “peacekeeping” mission with a large US/UK contingent would find themselves positioned a mere 200 miles north of Iran.
Not that i think the iranians would fall for it, but the average member of the US/UK public wouldn’t figure out the true reason for the military deployment in the area.
August 9th, 2008 at 3:33 am
ashnbell: There has been a peacekeeping force there since 1992, made up of Georgians, Russians, and Northern Ossetians.
And a reply to an earlier poster who was questioning what Russians peacekeepers were doing within Georgia. Think about it for a while. What are peacekeepers supposed to be doing???

This is a good article int he UK Guardian today:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/comm.....ia.russia1
Plucky little Georgia? No, the cold war reading won’t wash
It is crudely simplistic to cast Russia as the sole villain in the clashes over South Ossetia. The west would be wise to stay out
For many people the sight of Russian tanks streaming across a border in August has uncanny echoes of Prague 1968. That cold war reflex is natural enough, but after two decades of Russian retreat from those bastions it is misleading. Not every development in the former Soviet Union is a replay of Soviet history.
The clash between Russia and Georgia over South Ossetia, which escalated dramatically yesterday, in truth has more in common with the Falklands war of 1982 than it does with a cold war crisis. When the Argentine junta was basking in public approval for its bloodless recovery of Las Malvinas, Henry Kissinger anticipated Britain’s widely unexpected military response with the comment: “No great power retreats for ever.” Maybe today Russia has stopped the long retreat to Moscow which started under Gorbachev.
Back in the late 1980s, as the USSR waned, the red army withdrew from countries in eastern Europe which plainly resented its presence as the guarantor of unpopular communist regimes. That theme continued throughout the new republics of the deceased Soviet Union, and on into the premiership of Putin, under whom Russian forces were evacuated even from the country’s bases in Georgia.
To many Russians this vast geopolitical retreat from places which were part of Russia long before the dawn of communist rule brought no bonus in relations with the west. The more Russia drew in its horns, the more Washington and its allies denounced the Kremlin for its imperial ambitions.
Unlike in eastern Europe, for instance, today in breakaway states such as South Ossetia or Abkhazia, Russian troops are popular. Vladimir Putin’s picture is more widely displayed than that of the South Ossetian president, the former Soviet wrestling champion Eduard Kokoity. The Russians are seen as protectors against a repeat of ethnic cleansing by Georgians.
In 1992, the west backed Eduard Shevardnadze’s attempts to reassert Georgia’s control over these regions. The then Georgian president’s war was a disaster for his nation. It left 300,000 or more refugees “cleansed” by the rebel regions, but for Ossetians and Abkhazians the brutal plundering of the Georgian troops is the most indelible memory.
Georgians have nursed their humiliation ever since. Although Mikheil Saakashvili has done little for the refugees since he came to power early in 2004 – apart from move them out of their hostels in central Tbilisi to make way for property development – he has spent 70% of the Georgian budget on his military. At the start of the week he decided to flex his muscles.
Devoted to achieving Nato entry for Georgia, Saakashvili has sent troops to Iraq and Afghanistan – and so clearly felt he had American backing. The streets of the Georgian capital are plastered with posters of George W Bush alongside his Georgian protege. George W Bush avenue leads to Tbilisi airport. But he has ignored Kissinger’s dictum: “Great powers don’t commit suicide for their allies.” Perhaps his neoconservative allies in Washington have forgotten it, too. Let’s hope not.
Like Galtieri in 1982, Saakashvili faces a domestic economic crisis and public disillusionment. In the years since the so-called Rose revolution, the cronyism and poverty that characterised the Shevardnadze era have not gone away. Allegations of corruption and favouritism towards his mother’s clan, together with claims of election fraud, led to mass demonstrations against Saakashvili last November. His ruthless security forces – trained, equipped and subsidised by the west – thrashed the protesters. Lashing out at the Georgians’ common enemy in South Ossetia would certainly rally them around the president, at least in the short term.
Last September, President Saakashvili suddenly turned on his closest ally in the Rose revolution, defence minister Irakli Okruashvili. Each man accused his former blood brother of mafia links and profiting from contraband. Whatever the truth, the fact that the men seen by the west as the heroes of a post-Shevardnadze clean-up accused each other of vile crimes should warn us against picking a local hero in Caucasian politics.
Western geopolitical commentators stick to cold war simplicities about Russia bullying plucky little Georgia. However, anyone familiar with the Caucasus knows that the state bleating about its victim status at the hands of a bigger neighbour can be just as nasty to its smaller subjects. Small nationalisms are rarely sweet-natured.
Worse still, western backing for “equip and train” programmes in Russia’s backyard don’t contribute to peace and stability if bombastic local leaders such as Saakashvili see them as a guarantee of support even in a crisis provoked by his own actions. He seems to have thought that the valuable oil pipeline passing through his territory, together with the Nato advisers intermingled with his troops, would prevent Russia reacting militarily to an incursion into South Ossetia. That calculation has proved disastrously wrong.
The question now is whether the conflict can be contained, or whether the west will be drawn in, raising the stakes to desperate levels. To date the west has operated radically different approaches to secession in the Balkans, where pro-western microstates get embassies, and the Caucasus, where the Caucasian boundaries drawn up by Stalin, are deemed sacrosanct.
In the Balkans, the west promoted the disintegration of multiethnic Yugoslavia, climaxing with their recognition of Kosovo’s independence in February. If a mafia-dominated microstate like Montenegro can get western recognition, why shouldn’t flawed, pro-Russian, unrecognised states aspire to independence, too?
Given its extraordinary ethnic complexity, Georgia is a post-Soviet Union in miniature. If westerners readily conceded non-Russian republics’ right to secede from the USSR in 1991, what is the logic of insisting that non-Georgians must remain inside a microempire which happens to be pro-western?
Other people’s nationalisms are like other people’s love affairs, or, indeed, like dog fights. These are things wise people don’t get involved in. A war in the Caucasus is never a straightforward moral crusade – but then, how many wars are?

Fred Flinstone: You seem to have assumed i was talking about a “peacekeeping” mission in the disputed region (was already well aware they had such a presence). As it goes i was thinking more about whatever is left of the rest of Georgia once the Russians are done with it…. and i certainly wasn’t suggesting that they’d be there to keep the peace (hence the quotes).
Anyway, that’s all a bit beside the point, which is the bit i wasn’t speculating about (ie the proximity of iran to these events)
August 9th, 2008 at 4:01 am
What the hell…all of those govermental dudes make Russia look like some protagonist…but how are they any better? do they have the right to kill innocent people, to leave them without shelter, peaceful life, love and just happiness? do they have this right?
August 9th, 2008 at 4:06 am
The news was so freaking surreal tonight. My dad was switching the channels on the TV from each news network and EVERY one of them, expect one, was talking about the john Edwards thing. The other one was said obama something and he changed the channel. I wish i had some control of some money cause i would get canned foods from Efoods. I wouldn’t go for gold cause when people are hungry nobody’s gonna care if gold is 3K a coin. Yet i see people buying new xboxes and plasma TVs and my bother maxed a 500$ credit card and had to pay back 585$ with all the extra crap.
Meanwhile, out of the blue, the US attacks Russia and Bob Chapman says the market was going up!? Hows the market go up when were freaking attacking a country with nukes? Are people just thing the stock market is just like roulette in a casino or something?
To be honest im a little confused on the gold thing. Cause if Fort Noxe (can’t spell noxe
) hasn’t been checked in a long time + Russia has 800Billion gold in reserves and gold value is being suppressed in the market how is it a save place to dump fed notes in? Cause all i got is 850 bucks and thats like 2 months of storeabol food worth + everybody else is gonna eat it all anyways.
I’m basically screwed if i go about my business as normal, the only way to survive is to somehow siphon money away from everyday doctors and people that somehow own 800,000$ houses and they are only 28 years old and the wife doesn’t work. But in the end those people will turn on ya in a heartbeat when things get bad and they will do whatever it takes to protect themselfs and their family. I would bet realistically 95% of people will kill 2 other innocent families in hard times to protect their own family.
Is Russia controlled by elite? Cause it sounded like they were independent from this. Or are they working with the UN and US in this event and its all been planed out anyways?
I’ll need to look into how Russia is effected by the NWO control web tomorrow.
PS: Random Yo Momma Joke: YO Momma so stupid she saw a sign that said caution wet floor, she peed.
August 9th, 2008 at 4:15 am
Clearly, Winston, you are British. I am very impressed by your knowledge of recent Georgian history, but I wouldn’t worry about the U.S. or the “west” being drawn directly into this conflict. Franklly, the power elite that really manage the affairs of “the west” are more concerned with messing with Iran right at the moment. That is their pre-chosen whipping boy. The pitbulls will not be so easily distracted, and they know better than to try to interfere directly in Russia’s backyard. Let’s worry about things that really have a propensity for happening.
August 9th, 2008 at 4:17 am
Maybe you (#74), your dad and your friends should have hopped over to the BBC News 24 website. No John Edwards, but wall-to-wall the Georgia-Russian conflict. And no shortage on Google news, either.
August 9th, 2008 at 4:24 am
I got a question. Its not on topic about the article or Russia or anything. How does the Download stream work on the jones show? Does it download as fast as your internet go. OR does it only download what your hearing and a few seconds afterword?
Like for example if the internet can download 8 seconds of audio per 1 second and i listen to the Alex Jones show for 2 hours. Will it down load 2 hours of audio or will it download 16 hours of audio? If it wasn’t live. Like if it was a retransmission thingy.
BTW WildBlue Satellite internet sucks and if you go past 80% of your bandwidth, that YOU pay for,
they Slow you way down and you get screwed.

I’ve tried to clean up the google translation of Lena’s message a little, so it’s more understandable:
And all spit that 1600 innocent people people have been killed! We are now wailing, trying to reach relatives who hid in the basement of their burning homes, trying at least to save someone! It’s hard to carry (bear?) illegally injured civilians. For, as Georgia bombard ambulances and roads on which is humanitarian help! And then nobody has helped us, not the UN nor the EU, we have even stopped hoping that Russia will help us. By sms came the message: “Nobody will help us, we probably will die here, no light, no water. Thank you Nicholi! I haven’t really been studying the problem there, so it is difficult for me to grasp the jisty of what has happened here.
Can you give a synopsis of the situation there?
August 9th, 2008 at 7:01 am
According to what you say Nicholi, and what Alex just said, that this government, NOT us, have attacked Georgia, wouldn’t that be good? If the Georgia gov is committing Genocide and that government is now under assault , seems to me that that is what Lena is asking for? Or have I confused something?
August 9th, 2008 at 7:01 am
Just thinking about the history of world war 2 and the reason that Hitler and the
same family’s of today attacked the Caucasus first to control the oil. As it is written there
is nothing new under the sun, and a thief always returns to spot of his crime. Same group
starting the same stuff, but do not get broiled down in tit for tat. Sometimes it is best just
to take control and finish the battle. In the future more fighting will be needed to stop more
aggression. If those that start the attacks on innocents believe that murder, torture and aggression
is there way to rule, then even people like me must stand up against evil at all cost. It is better to go down trying to be free then to allow satanist evil to steal your soul, heart, body and mind.
I do not know if you have heard the story of St.Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow, but it is said
that Stalin wanted to tear down this Church and all churches in communist time, but the man he ordered
to do this refused, of course this man know he would be killed, but Stalin admiring this mans courage
did not tear down the Church, but sent man to gulag for ten years.
Courage is not something that comes by controlling the biggest army in the world like
Bush, courage is not killing women and children from helicopter gun ships while they sit on the ground,
courage is not attacking a country on the first day of the Olympics when China a good people seek
to show the world they are a great! people, courage is not being a thief in the night, or using lasers to
attack people riding bicycles at night. Courage is not having weapons but still telling the evil bastards
to go to Hell! and quickly.

Alex,
Check MSNBC where Holbrooke is spinning a wicked propaganda suite of lies……
He implies that his expertise is manifest and that He predicted that Russia would do this this Summer…..saying all the activities to answer the sneaky midnite Georgian attack is unprovoked agression by the Russians…
Where do these networks find these moronic talking heads to spew thier filthy lies on such short notice???? Immediate and Complete bullshit to mislead the American public within 2 hours.
Absolutely sickening……..shades of 911….. I am too fucking sick about this to watch the glitsy olympics, as they seem to be a fancy distraction timed exactly for this event…
You are right…Obama and Capt. Jacko are also in lockstep propaganda mode….
I am just sick about the beautiful, innocent civilians being bombed on both sides…. These faithful Othodox people are just the same as any part of Europe and the Americas.
Christians killing Christians….. This is absolute madness….. This is exactly what the Kennedy Brothers bravely avoided…. Stepping on the Great Russian Bear..
The Russians play for keeps and they can wipe out Georgia in a week….
How in God’s name did we let the CIA take over our foreign policy…. I am sick…..
August 9th, 2008 at 8:01 am
Georgians used Grad multi-launch rocket systems against civilians in Tshinvali, there are no any undamaged buildings in the city. South Ossetian forces have killed several Georgian maradeurs that pillaged desolated district of the city. Georgian forces are firing at refuges that trying to escape Tshinvali, using artillery and snipers. Streets are full of corpses, burned cars, wreckage, and remindes Stalingrad in 1943. Right now city is clear of Georgians, but they have opened artillery fire again. Meanwhile they gathering forces to Abkhasia boarder. Russian forces have captured Georgian military plans of invasion to South Ossetia. Some of Russian peacekeepers have been treacherously killed by their Georgian partners, this is ablutely disgusting. Russian Emercom have deployed field hospitals in North Ossetia. There are more than 30000 refuges, that have been evaquated from South Ossetia to Russia, they all want to return to their home when it ends, but they have nothing to return for. Saakashvilli is insane, look at his mad eyes, he looks like a patient of lunatic asylum, he is just a pawn in CIA’s hands. He claims that he is defending American ideals, but all what he’ve done is the humanitary disaster in South Ossetia.

“{Both Condoleezza Rice and John McCain have today demanded Russia withdraw its forces from Russia immediately.}”
Doesn’t anyone proofread anymore?

Cuba — Bay of Pigs. The Kurds in Iraq. Won’t be the first time the U.S. has encouraged someone to fight, promising support that would never come in a million years. Probably won’t be the last time either.
When will they learn. We are Americans. We lie. We cannot be trusted. Don’t wait for the air support. It’s never going to come.
Learn to stop killing anyway. Make peace before it’s too late.
By the way, violence is not going to prevent the “new world order.” It’s bigger than that. That’s alright. God’s even bigger. Don’t become bait for a bunch of lunatics and agents provocateurs. The militias aren’t going to save you from the “enlightened ones.” Turn to God.
The way of human reasons, and human means is coming to an end. The time of “the end justifies the means” and other such claptrap of the human point of view is coming to an end. Do you think God ever excused “collateral damage?” You will find the Machiavellians and their ilk were very much mistaken. Left or right — avoid violence. Seek out true faith.
Your little pistolas for which you so fervently defend the “second ammendment” (your ammendments, like the rights of man are a new decalogue for you!) will not defend you from air-fuel explosives. Violence is not the answer. You are going the wrong way, just like the Georgians who have been so “duped” by the CIA. Georgians, militiamen in the U.S: you are all dupes. So are the Russians. It will all come out in the wash.
To all the bloggers, right and left, who like to play armchair general, like the chicken hawks in the White House, I say, get a life.
Catch a clue from the predicament of the Georgians, who violated a four year peace to pick on a city of 30,000. Violence is not the way of freedom.

turn the warpigs into rats fighting and eating eachother today right now
allow simple people to defend against the warpigs with the word of their mouth

They (the Lame Stream Media) ADMIT that the John Edwards story has been in the TABLOIDS for 2 weeks, but between focusing on a US instigated WAR with Russia, or a former presidential candidate who has an affair with a skank at work, this retarded -ss-d media chooses the 2 week old TABLOID story.
What the h-ll man? It is almost unbelievable, even for a “CT nut,” like myself, that this media can get away with a complete blackout of the events that are unfolding as we sit here and read or listen. It gets me to wondering if they would even tell us that the nuclear missles were on the way? Would they even let us know that we had 20 minutes to live?
Sick, twisted, disgusting, and CRIMINALLY TREASONOUS media guilty of CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY for these actions.

D bell, you are an uninformed idiot who is devoid of reason, the scriptures are replete with instructions for war and defeating the enemy, particularly, the nephilim, the wicked ones, we are instructed to subdue and have dominion over the enemy, we are instructed by our savior to have a sword, Luke 22:35-36. we are instructed not to let the enemy take our people, Proverbs 24, we are instructed to pray the He train our hands to war and our fingers to battle, Even our savior defended himself when attack, Yahshua only allowed himself to be taken when it was His time to die for us you idiot, do NOT try to speak on the scriptures when you have not thoroughly studied and mastered them, you know not what you say.
At no time in history have tyrants been defeated with non violence, only downright force stopped king George, shaka zulu, hitler, stalin, and the rest, tyrants, rapists , satanists and all other manner of criminals today go unchecked because we fail in our mandate to subdue evil and that is all that is required for evil to prevail, for nitwits to listen to uneducated, unread, witless morons like you and for good men to do nothing!
Peace comes form the balance of power, not the absence of resistance, we need our pop guns as you say to counter the enemies popguns, that is axiomatic and a self evident truth. A posteriori, arguendo reasoning.
Know it, learn it, live it!,…don’t be a useless peacenick, reject all communist propoganda!

When this story was breaking last night, I switched over to Fox News to see what kind of spin they would put on this. Hardly a mention! Nothing but hastily assembled panels of experts to break down the implications of the Edwards scandal. It’s a good thing the Edwards scandal broke, otherwise they’d have to come up with something new about Anna Nicole Smith in order to burry the real news.
I got news for you Fox News, we’re wise to your tricks and we understand that your behavior indicates something secret and fishy that we’re not supposed to know about. NOBODY cares about John Edwards! He is a dirty used car salesman with zero relevance.

Georgia in US-financed arms race for war on Abkhazia, South Ossetia
TransnistriaGeorgia is preparing for a US-financed war against Abkhazia and South Ossetia. That is what the country’s military build-up reveals, according to a leading journalist and political analyst from Geneva. Since the current regime took power, Georgian military spending has effectively increased by over forty times and now has the highest growth-rate of any country in the world.

Georgia is going down. The US/Isreal has already lost the pipeline chess game and as soon as the EU and USA realize that they are literally playing with nuclear fire they will do the usual about face and toss the Georgian regime to the Russian wolves.
The US/Isreal pipeline project through Georgia just “ain’t gonna happen”. The regime’s admiration for the US regime is about to get a reality check. Georgians should check the history of US/Isreal regimes to fully understand the demonstration of a complete and utter lack of honesty & integrity.
Your puppet nation is just a pawn. I don’t need to tell you what happens next because, as chess players, you already know.

I’ve just come across this site whilst googling the current events in Georgia.
From my perspective it reads like this.
The U.S.has just started World War 3. Now before anyone gets up in arms (no pun intended),and calls me a nut bear the following facts in mind.
Georgia is America,it’s a simple as that. George Bush wants Russia squashed as a political military forced, just as he does with Iran.
Russia will not put up with the fact that the U.S want this to be the case. Now I’m no political annalyst but this isn’t hard to fathom out. It’s no coincidence that this coincides with the olympics,as the fireworks(that happen to cost around a thousand dollars a second by the way)were lighting up the skies in Biejing,U.S. rockets were lighting up the skies in S.Ossetia.
People need to open their eyes to the west’s true aspperations.DIVIDE AND RULE.
It’s Rome part two. We’re all F**ked!

WWIII was planned long ago, just as WWI and WWII, this is the agenda, to break up the mideast, to get every one at one another’s throats, to squash the believers of the various sects and denominations so that the occultists who owe their allegiance to the wicked one can rule with an iron fist!
This was all planned back in the late 1700s by irrelevant such as adam weishaupt of the Illuminati, he was one who brought satanic occultism to the masons as they exist today.

If you remember back a few months there was a clip in the news about a Georgian UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) was shot down by a Russian MiG-29. The video recorder onboard the UAV captured the whole event up until its demise. This video was put out on the internet, but unfortunately I don’t have the link. I think that this has been planned for quite a long time and Iran was just a diversion, and Iraq just a stepping stone.

I agree with anonymous on some stuff… all you AJ worshipping bootlicking ass kissers that don’t like the truth can fuck off! it is true that Ron Paul voted for and supported the bogus afghan war… and he has stated he doesn’t believe 9/11 to be an inside job… I will not support people that will not tell it like it is! I’m not accusing all of them of treason or anything… it’s just we have to tell it like it is and supporting Ron Paul is a big waste! this guy won’t even say bush stole the elections or will he say he was cheated himself! Ron paul is anti-conspiracies! and it is incredibly stupid for you people to support Ron Paul while you accuse every other big name of treason for denying that 9/11 was an inside job! I guess I wouldn’t expect you sheep to understand! and I will add that I don’t know about the other stuff this guy has said… but he can say what he wants…
I’ve listened to and heard those that claim AJ is this and that and I don’t know one way or the other… I haven’t seen any hard evidence yet. However I have critisized AJ and don’t mind doing so on things that I don’t agree with him on. especially his censoring ways! I think that is most obvious and needs to be critisized! AJ only believes in freedom of speech for himself!
August 9th, 2008 at 2:16 pm
too #123 You are the ppl who use the bible as pretext for war, claiming Jesus told you so or what not….. Alex jones is a damn good man and so is Dr. Ron Paul, They are not leader’s of faith but of the Truth movement, Besides The one true God of Abraham is The leader of faith. If you don’t like freedom go and lay down and wait for jesus to save you. Well odds are he won’t save you, because it is up to us! If God saved us all the time we would depend on him, He wants us to work to keep our freedom not lay down and wait for his rescue. It’s ppl like you, that will be our downfall sir. My comment on the story is: it is sad to more acts of aggression between Us and Russia.
August 9th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
With everything we’ve seen out of the neocons up to this point, does anyone doubt that they have sworn complete allegiance to Globalist Imperialism according to their PNAC declaration and the Wolfowitz Doctrine? Dr. Roberts is dead on: the neocons running that pentagon and military maneuvers abroad, such as in S. Ossetia, are mad men! They’re insane! Georgia knows damn better than to attack Mother Russia and we should know it too–more than anyone. It’s a crazy ass prodding of the sleeping bear…like throwing an M-80 at a gorilla. You may not survive a stunt like that. Bush is currently out of the U.S. Putin is not at home right now. When the hell is that fiend Dick Cheney gonna realize his place as VICE President, merely the tie breaker in the Senate, NOT Alexander The Great . This guy has chosen to be a war pig from the D.C. bunkers!!! BTW, if they openly prod Israel to attack Iran now, these damn war hawks will spark WWIV. Russia would unleash utter hell then.
August 9th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
Why is #123 sick and why should he kill him/herself, because of what they believe? I mean, that’s the problem, we don’t all have to agree and if we don’t agree why do we have to be kooks that should kill ourselves? Who is to say Ron Paul is mr. america or the great redeemer of america or even that alex jones is “for” the people with his infowar (cuz there’s a war for your mind).
See, that’s the problem, we don’t respect others’ opinions. As soon as someone doesn’t agree, you stone them to death, and you say you’re for the republic. Please, you are just like “them” with their free speech zones. We can only speak where “they” say we can. Sorry my friend, i can speak wherever and whenever i want. I’m fed up with people like you 2 who say they’re for freedom, maybe you are the moles.
And #123 is right to a certain extent, you should follow Jesus, but that would entail reading His word and we know you’re too lazy to do that cuz then you would be faced with real truth. Even with the 911 truth movement, i mean please, the truth about 911 has been told with soooooo many incriminating facts its overwhelming…how much proof do you need? Nothing has gotten done in 7 years and it’s too late to do anything else about it.
So, when you’re ready to really do something holla. Until then, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

atleast theres a question as to whether he is straight or not.
with mccain, obama and bush, theres no question. either will lead us to WW3.
alex jones has uncovered alot of satanic practices throughout the government. but instead of concentrating on the proven paedophiles and criminals, we have in office, you’d rather call alex this instead? when theres no evidence?
your just trying to stop people seeing who the real criminals are.

U.S. Attacks Russia Through Client State Georgia
Theres no evidence whatsoever that the us is involved in the operation, just because you may have troops or advisors in the country doesent mean your leading an operation there.

the US has been training georgian troops, and the US still has troops in georgia.
georgia attacked russia, NOT VICE VERSA.
and it may have even been the americans in georgia that did it. another false flag.
the american media are now in the process of persuading the american people into reacting and wanting to help georgia against russia. and THAT WILL kick start ww3.
August 9th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
Hi,
just cleaning up Jays translation a bit more:
Nobody cares that 1600 innocent people people have been killed! We are now wailing, trying to call relatives who hid in the basement of their burning homes, and asking(/praying) for someone to rescue them! It’s hard to carry injured civilians, as Georgia bombards ambulances and roads on which is humanitarian help! Nobody cares that Georgia bombs Tskhinvali from aircraft and mortar fire! Bomb sighting of the hospital, the only hospital in the city, where a few surgeons with candles perform operations on injured civilians. And then nobody has helped us, not your UN nor your EU, we have even stopped hoping that Russia will help us. By sms came the message: “Nobody will help us, we probably will die here, no light, no water. Batteries for Cell phones have run out, hiding in basements. it is impossible to go into the street.” I can only reach my brother after a few tries.
Tskhinvali is a city with a population of 30,000 people and a couple of villages around where only elders live – that’s the whole of South Ossetia. Friends say in Tskhinvali the city has been razed to the ground. We now have nowhere to live, and our small property has been destroyed.
You tell me, if a country intends to join your god damn NATO, has it the right to shoot at defenceless people ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The city is still full of women and children, because of the constant bombardment its impossible to evacuate them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is all this cynical talk of politics facing the lives of our friends and relatives. To hell with us(expression of smth which is very unlikely to happen) if we write the word SOS in the air , which would be heard !!!!!!
August 9th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
I EMAILED CHENEY AT THE WHITE HOUSE, AND TOLD HIS HE WAS A STUPID SON OF A BEEP. TO THINK HE CAN TAKE ON RUSSIA, AND I SAID, IF THEY DO ATTACK US SOME DAY, I HOPE THEY TARGET YOU AND BUSH, AND HIS DADDY TOO , FIRST.
August 9th, 2008 at 2:49 pm
Im scared now because its so near to my country they are fuc**n playing with us wtf is going on…why russians are bombing the civilians and ofcourse mainstreams are faking the truth and doing doublething in europeans tv channels its serious

@ FUCK ALL THIS BULLSHIT
Thank you man. You are right. You have good spirit – you can be happy i can assure you.
Alex is false. And i don’t hate him – it is just the truth. I was once a big fan of Alex ..
but when i saw this ugly Ron Paul ad on his site i thought : “What?! *The* Alex Jones is supporting
the government ? Alex Jones ? Who is telling all the time how evil the government is ? And after
this point – it was over. I researched Alex Jones and found ADS on his site .. MILITARY and POLICE
ADS – on which stand: “Become an ELITE LEADER in the military/police” – yeah .. sending people
to the military means sending them to iraq , afghanistan and so on .. and sending them to
police means taser other people to death maybe … and Alex became money for this ads …
blood money … and he is doing all this while he is telling you “how evil the government is ..” and
“how evil police is ..” and “the military industrial complex blah blah ..” — NO! THIS GUY IS A FRAUD.
Period.
And you see – people who follow him become like him- and so it is predicted – you become who you
follow. You tell them the truth and Alex Jones calls them “skitso” and others tell you that you
“should kill yourself” — and you people are so unhappy because your country is going down while
you say to others “kill yourself” ? You are not better than your government right now. And if you
follow Alex Jones and Ron Paul *YOU* are IN the government – supporting the government.
You call yourself “truther” ( LOL the word itself is a joke ) but when you hear the truth which is
DOCUMENTED on the internet on government sites you have nothing more left than “idiot” “moron”
“kill yourself” and much more sick stuff.
You guys are demonic FOOLS and nasty vipers.
Right. You don’t need me. It is ok. You are not the only ones who hate and hated me – you
support SATAN you IDIOTS.
First they hated Jesus .. now they hate me and want my death … i don’t take it personal …
i know these people are just demonic pigs like Alex Jones with a “black sunshine” brain ..
poor leader donkeys …
LOL .. go buy yourself an Alex Jones action puppet … and play “Alex Jones” “the hero”
or play “the leader” or buy a barbie too … and then let the Alex Jones educate Barbie
that “80% of barbie world must die” … and what about Ken ?! Is the Alex Jones action puppet
the Ken of Truth ?!
The funny things is: The Alex Jones “action puppet” really represents Alex Jones himself – he
is selling himself to you as “your leader” and “hero” .. and indeed he is a pupper .. a government
puppet .. and Ron Paul is playing with him .. like he is playing with you ..
again:
WARNING — Alexander Jones is a false leader — WARNING
“80% must die” is A LIE. This is 100% NOT true. Alex is a demonic “black sunshine” brain.
Sorry, he is SICK and worships the DEVIL. He is a propaganda Ron Paul Neo NAZI.
WARNING — You had been warned — WARNING

IM NOT TOO SURE WHO THE BITCH IS, BUSH OR CHENNEY ? BOTH GIRLS HAD TO GO TOGETHER AT THE 911 COMMISSION THING. GUILTY ASS HELL BOTH OF THEM.

alex jones is a good guy. you cannot seriously sit there and say Alex and Ron paul are evil, and we should believe in jesus instead.
WHO are we meant to vote for?
Ron paul WOULD be the best candidate.
you say alex has ads on his website for the military.
RUBBISH!. back yourself up. WHERE?
before you spew an essay of propaganda i want some FACTS behind what your saying.
and why are you concentrating on alex, when the government is so corrupt, and war has just broken out?
why is alex’s website getting censored by most universities and hostpitals etc?
because we all know that these institutions are corrupt and thats why the dont want people to listen to alex. just like your posts are designed to do.

Here in Egypt we are getting very good coverage of whats going on in Georgia.
Also about two weeks ago on arabic channel news they stated that Russia would not allow USA to attack Iran, as per Russia.
August 9th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
I just wonder if anybody understands why Georgian president addresses his nation in English with a EU flag on background? Why the UN was thinking for so long? there should be reasons:) Why European and US journalist are making news from Tbilisi, not Tskhinvali, where 2000 people died? do you know that to kill peacekeepers in international law is the same to kill an embassador? By the way, most of the materials shot on CNN are nought from Russian TV. How do you think, Russians so crazy to sell materials that shows their country as an agressor to the international channels? There are all misinterpreted at least on CNN. Plus, nobody tells about agreements that stopped the war in this region before. About the agreements signed by Georgia, Abkhazia, S Ossetia in 1990 and 1999. Plus, trust me, Georgia is an extremely poor country. President promised to save its boards and to improve the economics. How do you think, it’s easier to make reforms and make an economical growth or to make a war with RUssia, just to become a national leader.

I’m very conservative but I’m in hopes that O’bama wins the election this Fall. Why? Well… look
at it like this; I’ve grown seriously weary of all the blacks, browns, reds, etc… pointin’ the finger
at whitey {me} as being the reason[s] for all their finacial, political, racial and cultural problems!
Folks I was born in 1966. I didn’t have ONE GOOD GOD DAMN THING to do with where they find
themselves today. So, lets get O’bama in there and give him 4 or 8 years {whichever works or
doesn’t work} and see if we can’t rise above or put to rest all this race card finger pointin’ bullshit
once and for all. If he can turn things around, fantastic! If he falls on his face, oh well… but atleast
all the muti-colored NATIONALS will have no choice but to all pause at the same time and go; Well,
who we gonna’ blame now? …just a thought. DON’T LETCHER MEATLOAF!

Red Dawn Now,
You are another anonymous coward.
Furthermore, I say, “He who calls his brother ‘raba’, which is fool, is in danger of hell fire.” Do you remeber that one from scripture?
Your insults only shame you. It is clear whose spirit commands you.
You and your ilk have twisted the spirit of Christ’s words for 2,000 years. You are the crusaders. You are not Christ’s servants. You do not know Him, and you will see one day, He does not know you.
However, there is still time. Turn form your love of violence. Personally, I hope your violent words are mere bluff, as I suspect they are, but might not some others take them seriously?
You are responsible for your inflammatory words. By the way, who exactly are the “nephilim” in your opinion? You might want to take a look in the mirror. You might just catch a glimpse of your reptilian heritage. If you want to throw it off, I suggest you look within.

136: We supply them with military hardware, and the US and Isreal are trying to build a pipeline in that region. Basically it’s like this. The US and co support georgia because it just so happens to be on the black sea and they want to build a pipeline. Russia who has pipelines in the region gets a little pissed off, because they stand to lose huge money because of this. It’s not that hard to understand really. Basically this is two major countries (and our lackey Isreal) fighting it out through client countries. But now Russia has had enough of the bullshit and has taken the situation into it’s own hands. Can you really blame them? The US brass needs to realize that war isn’t a fucking game. If you lose more than not you’re dead, simple as that. Russia was a sleeping giant that is waking up again, and guess what? They’re pissed!
I agree that the headline may be a bit sensationalist, but it’s a literary tool. It gets the reader interested in the contents of the article/paper/book ect.

Will you people stop with the religious rhetoric please? Jesus is our true leader! dur dur dur….. No he isn’t… And the sooner you realize this the better off you will be. Btw that goes the same for muhammed, budda, abraham and all the rest of the “prophets”. There very well may be a God but I’m fairly certain he/she/it has allot more to do than look out after the likes of us.

Have noticed how all people who have taken momentary charge of the world base themselves on war? All people of this type, those whose well-being depends on the ill-being of others, all dictators, ground themselves on war. It shows how man’s level of being attracts war and how the disease of war is in man, and due to his own state. Since man’s level of being is as it is, then everything will go in the only possible way in which it can go at that level, and no one will be able to anything. Everything is being done in the only way it can be done.
People do not comprehend how they are governed by changing events, imagining that they are always free. They say in times of peace that they will never under any circumstances go to war again. Yet, when a new war starts they always justify themselves and explain why they must do as they do—that is, as they cannot help doing.
War is an event which drags millions of people into its vortex whether they wish it or not. People, however, imagine that they are free. All man’s life is based on the idea that he is free to choose. If a man could see clearly that he is mechanical, that is, that he is not free, he would not be able to endure the realization.
Before war occurs, it is quite easy to think that one is free from it. But when the event comes, the case is different. It is almost as if the war tries to drag as many people as possible into its range and “feed” on them. People forget what they thought. The war attracts them into its sphere of influence. By means of self-justifying, they enter the event and pass under its power. A man may decide that he will never fight again in any war. He is sure he will not. But when the drums begin to beat, when the horrors and madness of war start and he see them or reads about them, he forgets all his resolutions.
War is a collective event, that is, an event implicating nations or a single nation, involved in war or revolution. Man does not see that his own level of being attracts the repeating cycle of war into his life. Because man—who has been formed by life—man who is so deeply asleep and unconscious of his true nature, the influences of war simply act upon him mechanically…it just happens! If men were awake, war could not happen.
All war is equally ridiculous and equally criminal!
If one thing could be different everything could be different. And then, perhaps, there would have been no war. Everything is dependent on everything else, everything is connected, and nothing is separate. Therefore, everything is going in the only way it can go. If people were different everything would be different. They are what they are, so everything is as it is.
Everything happens on Earth as it does because man is asleep, and everything happens in the only way it can. Millions kill each other, suffer incredible misery and so on, because they cannot help it, and it all leads no where, and can lead nowhere. The direction that can lead somewhere is for man to awaken from his deep sleep. Awakening is the individual task of everyone. If a few begin to awaken, the effect spreads and others begin to understand that war is not the answer. You must not adapt to war. To adapt to war is to go to sleep in regard to war.
Everything based on violence can only create violence. There is not a single school of real teaching that teaches violence. Man—natural man—is based on violence and that is why he continually attracts war to himself in every generation. It must be remembered that it is the level of man’s being that attracts war! If man’s being does not change, wars will never end. It is every man’s—and collective humanity’s—inner state that manifests either good or evil, either war or peace. Man must overcome violence in himself. This is a very great issue, and a man must first of all study identifying in himself to its roots before he can understand what the overcoming of violence in himself means.
War exists because man is based on violence. If he receives influences he does not know how to use and does not understand owing to his defective and undeveloped apparatus of reception, he cannot deal with them, and so they pass into irritation, anger or violence. Man is thus like a bad transmitter. He is “evil” because he transmits badly. If a man begins to deal with the small cycle of recurring events in his personal life more consciously and does not identify with some of them, he begins to be able to transform his life on a small scale. He transmits a little better and begins to be a little freer from the machinery of life—of the “turning wheels” surrounding him. If everyone did this, man would not so easily bring mankind to war, and people could then resist war.
When war comes, people find reasons for it and consent to it and feel almost as if they were willingly taking part in it. Whereas war, as a vast collective event, a vortex, has grasped them into its powerful influence and made them take part in it. But if necessity imposes itself on a man in respect to war, even then he does not have to serve his lower nature, which is based on violence. He need not serve his lower nature if he does not identify with what he thinks he has to do and must do as regards war. But if he feels going to war is a fine thing to do he will identify with his lower nature and even go so far as to wish for rewards for his “meritorious actions.” To practice non-identifying can lead somewhere; to serve ones lower nature leads nowhere.
Man is not properly conscious and thus brings war upon himself. The normal state of consciousness in which most people go about, talk, write, plan, make love and so on is a state of hypnotic sleep. In this state of sleep, everything happens in the only way it can happen. Wars start and no one can stop them and people kill each other without wishing to, but because they have to. And a thousand and one other things happen, which no one wishes, but which inevitably happen just because everyone is asleep. People do not guess that this is the real explanation of why life on this Earth is as it is. That is, they do not possess the idea that man is asleep and do not think from it, but think instead from the ideas that man is awake and fully conscious. They think wars take place because of certain people in the background and cannot understand that they take place because everyone is in a state of hypnotic sleep which cannot be thrown off save by direct help from those who have awakened and left behind them ideas to think from and instructions to follow. The idea of man being asleep is an utterly different idea from any of the ordinary ideas we have about life. To think from it is to think in an utterly new way. Have you begun to think from this idea—both as regards life, other people and especially as regards you own self? Do you comprehend, through self-observation, that you yourself are also asleep?
Now, listen carefully. It is man and his level of being that is the cause of war, and as long as man does not try to awaken and develop himself, war will inevitably continue, that is, man will continue to attract war to himself. If we were all more conscious, then war would cease. But this is impossible. It is impossible for everyone to be more conscious. It is a matter of the greatest difficulty for even one person to become more conscious. Man is created a self-developing being, that is, we can work or ourselves and we can change our being—individually. If we all changed, wars would case. And, if we are all created as self-developing beings and make no attempt to use this freedom, why blame God for not intervening?

“Your country (USA – if in fact you live there) belonged to the natives. Based on your understanding, your conscience should be telling you to pack your bags and leave the country”
Not a logical comparision. Even though treatment of natives centuries ago was terrible and resistance on their part was completly JUSTIFIED the fact remains that it was a very long time ago. Secondly, I really don’t understand how this statemnet relates to my original post. South Ossetia belongs to Georgia. Every nation on this planet including Russia failed to recognize it as an independant nation or even a part of Russia for that matter. How this situation is comparable to early US colonial history is beyond me. Russia’s involvement is a modern occurrence, if you think that this is not important than I guess those Iraqi’s better stop complaining about US involement in their country. I suggest that you do a little more research before comparing two very different events.

Sounds like there was a ‘quiet’ war going on already between some Israeli/US oil company and a Putin owned one. We don’t know the real crooked details but it smells like bribing the Georgian leader to screw Putin. Imagine how mellow it would be there today if he had just made deals only with Putin, considering the international community doesn’t recognize their independance. (It was like making a new country to plunder it’s oil/pipelines etc, Wow) I think though it was probably Dick ordering this to happen after the details came out last week about the Administration Faking the letter to help start the war(sorry, that’s Criminal/highly illegal to me, but nothing else on the tv about it..?) ..and of course the wanting to use Navy seals and boats thing to ‘fake’ a start to an Iranian war… This seems like something you could turn on like a tap with one private phonecall to their Georgian lapdog, and they did…

My support is entirely with the Russians, the Yanks want to get their dirty paws on everything. They bought and paid for the puppet “govt.” they installed in PART of Georgia, then they get even greedier and try to get South Ossetia. The whole world is on Russias side, some if only because of collective hatered for Americas’ greed and bullying nature. The Yanks have no chance here. Everything they do now is being scrutinised. Of course, all this baiting of the Russians was on the agenda of the Bilderberg Group, as they’re mad as hell over not getting their hands on all that fuel, since losing their chance when the old drunken puppet Yeltsin was working for them. Well, Russia is a proud country again, and no-ones puppet. The world knows it needs a balance,a country of Russias size and stature to rtand up to America and contain their over-reaching greed for power and OIL!

The following is a translation of Xizor’s message:
Russia plays a role of a peacekeeper. Georgia was the one who started the agression. For 16 hours Georgian troops were killing civilians. Then the Russian help came. Why did the world unsympathetically watch innocent people suffer and die for 16 long hours, and the city being wiped out from the face of the earth? Georgia can stop the fire and sign the peace agreement to stop the war. Georgia must stop the slaughter.

@lena says the following in her message in Russian:
Thanks to everyone who translated and sympathized.
It scares me how western media depicts the situation in Ossetia.
Do you know that there were no Western journalists in Цхинвали? I am just curious as to how they make their news if they weren’t even there. Many pictures and videos that you saw were taken by Russian journalists who were present in the combat areas. I haven’t heard of any western reporter taking interviews from refugees and the wounded in Ossetia.
I would like to make it clear: Russia has brought its troops to South Ossetia when the city was practically destroyed, and 1500 peaceful civilians and 12 Russian peacekeepers were dead. Before bringing in the military, Russia asked the UN to take measures, but the request was ignored. Georgia attacked the sleeping Цхинвали without a warning. Georgian military was shooting in residential areas and main city infrastructures – the hospital, stores, university, schools…
Again thank you everyone who has responded. The situation becomes clearer and it’s for the best. Russia sends rescuers to evacuate the people. Unfortunately, many of our friends will not come back – they are “missing in action.”
Right now, the most horrible thing will start – counting the dead.

You people keep talking about who is on who’s side. This is ridiculous. What is a country? U.S. and Russia are names representing abstract borders. The people who power each military are the ones directing the war. These people are not against one another, they are against you. They simply plan the wars and the means by which they will be instigated. Then they use people like you to create biases and upheaval as in this comment section. You people go against what the media is saying only to support the opposite bias. Perhaps you all need to learn to think for yourselves. Opposing mainstream media does not necessarily guarantee that you will approach a conclusion that concurs with reality. It only states that you wish to oppose mainstream media/info. Look at what is obvious. What are the real issues? How do we confirm this without using an arbitrary authority as our evidence? What makes the most sense? What is the true objective of most people? How do we use power when we feel we have obtained some? Are we ethically different when our level of “control” is different? When considering the highest levels of intelligence a which a human may function, why are we still “problem-solving” in such primitive ways? Perhaps the problems are mapped, then the illusion of them is released in the form of memes and emotionally stimulating information so that we, the silly serf people, are set off believing whatever it is that suits our biases (which is based in how we were raised and mostly what benefits the ego). And because the diversity of biases in the world is incredibly large (although in the largest sense we all seem so stupidly the same), controversy is easily manifested and bred into war.
You silly people with your silly arguments. You are all in this trap. Free yourself by supporting concepts rather than countries.

It’s really heartening to see Russia showing the Yanks, Bilderburgers and Co., the four corners in the American -backed, puppet- state, Georgia. The yanks have been listening to their own propaganda for too long. Now the Fascist coup the US paid for, might see how they’re being used and how cheap their lives are to their Western masters, whose only interest is in power in the region, and OIL!
August 13th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
The reason for the war in Georgia is really VERY SIMPLE, it’s about Western Imperialism. No need to put the mind through contortions, wondering about the mind-set of certain groups, it’s all too self-evident–two words; GREED and POWER. One cannot exist in the abstract-at least not while we’re alive! Abstract thought doesn’t help when you’re being attacked. I know why Georgia/US are on the attack,I don’t need to ask myself (or anyone) WHY, it is common-sense

Russia is a Superpower again as the United States, CNN and other news media’s have admitted http://www.kommersant.com/page.asp?id... , this is an NATO expansion war. US former president Ronald Reagan promise Russia there would be no NATO expansion into post Soviet Union countries back 1989 which has clearly been violated. NATO is the new cold war, they are expanding and we cannot trust NATO. NATO is evil and Russia is the ally here. People need to Google the true about what NATO means and what relation is NATO, EU & Bilderberg together. I support Russia and I am against NATO, NATO is the emeny here. NATO wants to expand membership and spread every as much as they can. NATO is about building a military block and when countries apply for NATO membership, they wave the rights to protect themselves or governored themselves but are under the rules of NATO. It is communist movement on a private sector by NATO and this is wrong. Russia & China has been dead set against NATo and this is why. I want Russia to make its stance and state against NATO, this evil lying agency that has no business taking countries rights away. Russia s doing the right thing defending itself from this so called NATO (Bilderberg & EU) and I defend Russia as they are the superpower of the 21st century now.
