US Energy Secretary Steven Chu has floated the idea of a carbon emissions tax to fight global warming, in an interview with The New York Times Thursday.
During the US presidential campaign, the notion was kept largely on the back burner as candidates were reluctant to promote the idea of costlier energy at a time when gasoline prices were soaring.
But since President Barack Obama’s administration took office in January, Congress has been working on setting up a system for swapping greenhouse gas emissions quotas similar to the one used in the European Union.
And Chu said “alternatives could emerge, including a tax on carbon emissions,” the Times reported.

The carbon emissions tax is basicaly a U.N. tax for global emmisions,
In which has allready affected charter fishing boats out of Fla.
I think thats why everybody is thinking “green” to beat the global tax.
It’s allready global law, just need to fugure out how to repeal it…

The US should switch to green energy, create green energy solar panels and geothermal plants, finally produce something that earns money from exports – not introduce yet another TAX for the financiers to suck yet more money out of the country!

I can’t believe so many people are stupid enough to fall for this bullshit. How is a tax going combat something that doesn’t even exist as problem, in the first place? The illogic is giving me a headache. Or maybe that’s just the chemtrails outside.

I agree, I’m so pissed off right now about the spraying!! Somehow we need to put this out in the open. Most people I associate with is clueless, and says they are vapor trails. Its so frustrating. I think from years of fluoride, all the GMO foods, most people are too dumbed down to realize, and they are too comfortable with they’re lives to care.

Senator Gregg Statement on His Withdrawal for Consideration of U.S. Commerce Secretary
Sen. Gregg stated, “I want to thank the President for nominating me to serve in his Cabinet as Secretary of Commerce. This was a great honor, and I had felt that I could bring some views and ideas that would assist him in governing during this difficult time. I especially admire his willingness to reach across the aisle.
“However, it has become apparent during this process that this will not work for me as I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the Census there are irresolvable conflicts for me. Prior to accepting this post, we had discussed these and other potential differences, but unfortunately we did not adequately focus on these concerns. We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy.
“Obviously the President requires a team that is fully supportive of all his initiatives.
“I greatly admire President Obama and know our country will benefit from his leadership, but at this time I must withdraw my name from consideration for this position.
“As we move forward, I expect there will be many issues and initiatives where I can and will work to assure the success of the President’s proposals. This will certainly be a goal of mine.
“Kathy and I also want to specifically thank Governor Lynch and Bonnie Newman for their friendship and assistance during this period. In addition we wish to thank all the people, especially in New Hampshire, who have been so kind and generous in their supportive comments.
“As a further matter of clarification, nothing about the vetting process played any role in this decision. I will continue to represent the people of New Hampshire in the United States Senate.”
Can’t wait to hear what HE has to say on the talk shows.
Hint, Hint.

Thanks crashcrisis!
“Obviously the President requires a team that is fully supportive of all his tentacles.”
Breaking news! Senator Judd Gregg withdraws as Commerce Secretary citing “irresolvable differences” on The STIMULUS and 2010 Census!
Seems to me that Obama is drawing some bipartisan lines in the sand which may never be resolved. They know how to maintain the illusion of two separate, yet really one, DemoRepublicratican Party.

Please read the Bible people! If you know how the story will end they can’t beat you with fear tactics.
Plus as smart and well researched as Alex Jones, Ron Paul and Tex Marrs are, do you think it is a coincidence that they are all Christians… Think about it.

LOL at people citing religious reasons as to why global warming is a lie. Global warming is a lie because CO2 doesn’t affect global climate not because an imaginary “god” is watching over us and judging that our activities are pure.

Even worse than taxing carbon emissions. Oregon is taking it to the next level. I read an article at http://www.truthconvicts.com/n.....s-tax.html saying the state wants to put GPS (police State) in every vehicle to tax the people for mileage. I think they are trying to keep revenue up while the gas tax takes a hit by more fuel effecient cars but GPS doesn’t right.

CARBON TAX….RIGHT. FIRST, I HAVE TO HAVE A JOB AND SECOND WE WOULD REQUIRE A SOUND FISCAL POLICY AND I DON’T THINK WE’LL SEE THAT ANYTIME SOON. ANOTHER STUPID IDEA FROM THE IDIOTS IN WASHINGTON.
