The United States and Iran have been conducting secret back-channel discussions on Tehran’s nuclear program and frozen relations between the two countries, The Independent reported Monday.
The British newspaper quotes former US under secretary of state Thomas Pickering as saying that a group of former US diplomats and foreign policy experts had been meeting with Iranian academics and policy advisers "in a lot of different places, although not in the US or Iran" for the past five years.
"Some of the Iranians were connected to official institutions inside Iran," Pickering told the paper.
Last week, the United States warned Iran it risked further isolation and new international sanctions after refusing to comply with UN Security Council resolutions over its disputed nuclear program.
The West fears Iran could use enriched uranium to make a nuclear weapon, and Tehran’s refusal to suspend the process has been punished with three sets of UN Security Council sanctions resolutions and US pressure on its banking system.

Leave Iran alone! They don’t give a fuck about us. Why should I give a fuck about them? In the end the world will destroy itself. And we shall be extinct.

Back when the Shah was in power, the United States was eager to export our latest military equipment to Iran (since it was ‘our great ally’ in those days) along with nuclear reactor technology, equipment, etc. As long as American corporations (and it is the corporations that are are mostly running the show) are in a position to profit from “trade’ with Iran, the “problem” with Iran’s nuclear ambitions will probably vanish like the morning fog. It’s All About the Money!!! Which brings us all to the next problem: The Iranians want payments to be made in Euros, not dollars, and this is why the Bush administration is willing to go to war with Iran: certainly not to “defend democracy” but to defend the cursed, worthless dollar. Fellow Americans, are you willing to die for The Dollar?

Its a good point but unforunately these people tend to not listen to what we think or say, I dont see how Iran is bothering us and lets just say that it was a threat and the UN actually didnt have corrupt bastards in it…ok if they wanted to pick a beef up with us or any other country under the not corrupt UN (fiction) would they? hell no because all of those forces under the UNcorrupt UN would open up a can of whip ass plain and simple but nonono its always us leading the way in some “offensive” military tactic to take over another country that doesnt have a globalist president or or dictator its insane

lets make space ships, probes to see other galaxies or dimensions even, stop war, stop fighting over that which nature provides free pf charge, the bee hive is the best idea.. The united colonies of earth is on its way..we will abandon money, in exchange for learning a broad range of knowledge from eachother, we do what we need to when we need it, cutting out waiste and corruption. The future can be sooner than later.

A man cannot be too careful in the choice of his enemies.

It’s sad, when the history tells the truth and other’s bend it for the sake of money. I’m sure all of our soldiers now in Iraq know it’s all about money.

Who cares if Iran is going to make nuclear weapons. The biggest threat is the US. Whatever the Iranian president is at least he had the guts to come out and talk about his suspicions about 9/11

If Iran wants a nuclear program allow it but MAKE them use CANDU reactors and have some one there to ensure that all the uranium they buy goes into it…. a CANDU reactor does produce waste but that waste is useless for nuclear weapons, they can’t melt down and if built properly prove no risk to the enviroment or people even in the hands of the most manicial mad man… It should be internatonal law that only CANDU reactors can be usued but the states well they love there nuclear bombs…. Nuclear electricity was a by product of the 1st weapons grade plutonium factory.

Wrong. It was believed that the waste from the CANDU heavy water reactor could not be used for the production of nucllear weapons. If I remember correctly, the East Indians proved that belief wrong. The Indians used the waste from a CANDU reactor to bulid their first nuclear bomb. There was quite the stink in Canada over the Indians misuse of the CANDU reactor technology.
