US lawmakers urge halt to relocation of Iranian dissidents in Iraq

Washington, 16 December (WashingtonTV)—US lawmakers on Tuesday called on US President Barack Obama to stop the Iraqi government’s forced relocation of members of an Iranian opposition group from their camp north of Baghdad.

[efoods]The group, the People’s Mujahedeen Organization of Iran, has resided at Camp Ashraf in northern Iraq for more than 20 years.

Iraq wants to move the more than 3,000 members of the group to a new camp in the desert south of Baghdad, as a first step towards expelling them from Iraq.
