U.S. Military Investigator Confirms Women and Children Were Raped At Abu Ghraib

It only took five years, but the mainstream media has finally acknowledged the truth behind why certain photos and videos from the infamous Abu Ghraib prison camp have been blocked from public release – they show U.S. soldiers and other prison guards raping female detainees as well as children.
In an interview with the London Telegraph, Major General Antonio Taguba, the former army officer who conducted an inquiry into the Abu Ghraib jail in Iraq, confirmed the details of his original army report, that the unreleased photos showed rape and sexual abuse of women and minors.
“At least one picture shows an American soldier apparently raping a female prisoner while another is said to show a male translator raping a male detainee,” reports the Telegraph, adding, “Further photographs are said to depict sexual assaults on prisoners with objects including a truncheon, wire and a phosphorescent tube.”
Taguba also verified the credibility of eyewitness statements from other detainees that described an American-Egyptian male translator in uniform raping teenage boys.
Among the graphic statements, which were later released under US freedom of information laws, is that of Kasim Mehaddi Hilas in which he says: “I saw [name of a translator] ******* a kid, his age would be about 15 to 18 years. The kid was hurting very bad and they covered all the doors with sheets. Then when I heard screaming I climbed the door because on top it wasn’t covered and I saw [name] who was wearing the military uniform, putting his **** in the little kid’s ***…. and the female soldier was taking pictures.”

“These pictures show torture, abuse, rape and every indecency,” Taguba told the Telegraph.
Taguba’s confirmation that the photos depict rape mean that President Obama could only have been lying when he claimed, “I want to emphasize that these photos that were requested in this case are not particularly sensational, especially when compared to the painful images that we remember from Abu Ghraib.”
As we reported last week, such horrors have been on the record for years, yet corporate media coverage of the Abu Ghraib scandal still frames the entire issue in the context that the “abuse” consisted merely of college fraternity-style humiliation and stacking prisoners in human pyramids.
In reality, the very worst of the torture has never been seen and it includes raping women and children, as well as brutally beating detainees to death.
Further details were also made public by New Yorker investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, who in July 2004 told an ACLU conference,
“Some of the worst things that happened you don’t know about, okay?” said Hersh. “Videos, there are women there. Some of you may have read that they were passing letters out, communications out to their men. This is at Abu Ghraib … The women were passing messages out saying ‘Please come and kill me, because of what’s happened’ and basically what happened is that those women who were arrested with young boys, children in cases that have been recorded. The boys were sodomized with the cameras rolling. And the worst above all of that is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking that your government has. They are in total terror. It’s going to come out.”
Following his refusal to release the unseen photos, the ACLU charged that President Obama “has essentially become complicit with the torture that was rampant during the Bush years by being complicit in its coverup.” The Obama administration has also sought to protect intelligence officials involved in torture from prosecution at every turn.

Data is emerging, no matter how the administration attempts to hide it, that the new photos and video of abuse at Abu Ghraib prison include the torture of children.
Norway’s Prime Minister’s office says it plans to address the situation with the U.S. “in a very severe and direct way.”
Could this mean losing yet another ally in the Iraq occupation? Amnesty International in Norway has said that Norway can no longer continue their occupation of Iraq, or their support of US policy in this matter.

I truly hope that these are propoganda photo’s made by the radicals. It very well could be. However, if this is not the case those responsible must be identified and be sent to a court-martial. This should be a capital offense under the U.C.M.J.

In regards to the pictures, perhaps Norway will release them to the media. (Sure)Otherwise, we still haven’t seen these pictures, so at this point, one can only speculate what they contain.
However, I’d like to point out that if these pictures are so bad that the White House is stopping them from being released to protect our soldiers overseas, then the White House should also bring the people in them up on charges for whatever it is they are doing that is so heinous that the public can’t see them.

Detroit: Not that it is in any way relevant to the question at hand (namely, this article on torture) BUT, they are referring to the 19 terrorists who supposedly hijacked the 9-11 airplanes and crashed them into the WTC and pentagon. No official military pictures or evidence have ever been released directly linking any of the accused to the attacks.
This article, however, seems to be a legitimate piece of journalism and I can’t see why you’d doubt this.
here are some questions for you: Are soldiers saints? Are all american soldiers christians? Are all american soldiers your friends? Do you know each and every American soldier personally, so well that you would vouch for each and every one’s inherent morality? Do you discount the effects of paranoia, fear, and vehement anger against one’s enemy, so much that these combined effects would have no impact whatsoever on a soldier’s ability to maintain proper p.o.w. relations with all incarcerated women and children? We all are aware of the horrific nature of psychological warfare. In my humble opinion, the very idea that a US soldier could commit such an act leads me to ponder the effect of such a story on the Iraqi people. There is a great deal of evidence that suggests this kind of thing happens to prisoners on a daily basis in American jails. Why not in an Iraqi prison? I would venture to guess that there are fewer restrictions in Iraq and very little recourse when one has been violated. I believe these things probably happened. We will never really know, will we?

The “soldiers” in the one picture, or at least people who claim to be, are wearing BDUs (Battle Dress Uniforms) which is not what we wear in the desert. You give the international bankers (a.k.a. the government) 2.5 of your 5 weekly work days so they can go over on the other side of the planet and dry f--- little boys assholes. Hopefully you will focus this anger into something productive to help your country and fellow human being, like fighting the NWO.

This sickens me that our troops would behave in such a depraved manner. It makes our country look bad to the rest of the world, it makes those people and countries hate us even more than they already do. These troops need to be punished, and they need to apologize for what they have done.
I know we are at war with these countires, but our troops should be the good guys over there. They should be following all rules and laws and when possbile try to spread good will.
Of course, many of their buddies have probably died over there, the victims of roadside bombs, with many of those bombs even being set by children. I am not saying what they did was right, but the very nature of war has a profound effect on the psych. Who knows what drove them to commit such acts, we have all seen the brutal beheading of Americans.
War is hell, for everyone involved. Still, Americans need to answer to a higher standard.

Paul we all can do our part even if its just telling your friends and family and waking them up to the truth and the madness but in time our numbers will grow and we will be strong enough to be able to fight this evil and corruptness with our numbers and not so much with violence because if done correctly there will be no need for it but if not a revolution will be needed and people and numbers will be required so its up too us all to spread the truth and those that are willing to listen and can see the truth will most likely join so please everyone do your part NOW so that we can sooner then later make this world a much better place.

I have many gay friends and don’t hate them by any means, obviously. But we disagree. Homosexuals really are not helping their cause in this case. Are there any servicemen or women reading this and getting sick to their stomachs? I bet there are. When you say set fire to our troops or f*** them all, stop. Step back. Why are all being judged for the awful actions of a few? I had family over there, and I know they’d be hopping mad at any of this.
All of this is “alleged” until hard evidence – like photos – emerge. How many of the commenters on the board have actually seen these photos? I haven’t. I’ll reserve judgement until I do. I’m not dismissing it, though, as none of us should. War is hell and really bad things happen. Not condoning anything. Just stating a fact.

This photo is not even real. It is a Photoshop-doctored photo released on an Islamic site about four years ago. Easy to do: all you need to do is get a cage, put somebody in it with their hand outstretches, then merge it with a photo of an innocent US soldier on patrol. Bam! Phony propaganda photo done! Now just put it on a blog with a bunch of lies designed to engender hate and you’ve done your part in the psych-war to help support hate merchants. Good work. The forces of evil and satanism must be applauding.
