BEIRUT — A new report based on previously classified documents suggests that the Nixon and Ford administrations created conditions that helped destabilize Iran in the late 1970s and contributed to the country’s Islamic Revolution.
A trove of transcripts, memos and other correspondence show sharp differences over rising oil prices developing between the Republican administrations and Mohammed Reza Shah Pahlavi in the mid-1970s, says a report to be published today in the fall issue of Middle East Journal, an academic journal published by the Washington-based Middle East Institute, a think tank.
The report, after two years of research by scholar Andrew Scott Cooper, zeros in on the role of White House policymakers — including Donald H. Rumsfeld, then a top aide to President Ford — hoping to roll back oil prices and curb the shah’s ambitions, despite warnings by then-Secretary of State Henry Kissinger that such a move might precipitate the rise of a “radical regime” in Iran.
“The shah is a tough, mean guy. But he is our real friend,” Kissinger warned Ford, who was considering options to press the monarch into lowering oil prices, in an August 1974 conversation cited by the report. “We can’t tackle him without breaking him.”

Surprise surprise… The little demon Rumsfeld pops up spreading evil once again.
How many lost lives do you think Rumsfeld is responsible for when you count Iran, 9/11, Iraq and aspartame?
I’m sure the little satanist is very proud of himself.
October 17th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
I think the real question now is whether the US deliberately acted to have the Shah overthrown in order to create an Islamic threat to the USSR.
October 17th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Contrary to what the public knows, the Ayatollah Khomeni was an MI6 asset and was sitting in the outskirts of London ready to take power once Shah Pahlavi was ousted by the fundamentalists who were being stirred up through the underground network. Pahlavi was not overly popular with the people of Iran because he really spent lavishly on himself, his family and everything the US Military was willing to sell him. He was most definitely on the rise. He had incredible command over the oil wealth, however, there was an inequitable wealth distribution through society. He succumbed to a degree of megalomania sitting atop his Peacock throne. Nonetheless, he was becoming more powerful in the region and remained reasonably allied with the certain segments of the US. His intelligence agency, The Savak, was notorious for its ruthless tortures and killings. They were all trained by the CIA so it is not hard to fathom how they learned to be so ruthless.
The dispute between the Republicans and the price of oil per barrel were genuine. Pahlavi had no intention of making any concessions on price. Further, it has be alleged that Pahlavi was made ill with cancer to hasten his departure. The final role of this controlled regime change occurred when Pahlavi and family fled to Eqypt after they were overthrown by the newly installed MI6 Ayatollah Khomeni. The tensions thereafter backfired lead to the Iran/Iraq War, made war profiteers very wealthy (as in Rumsfeld and the arms market gang) and really did not help to stabilize oil prices to any degree of significance.
So much for globalist engineering of conflicts. It was another filthy mess with millions of deaths, plenty of arms sales, and brought about the rise of Saddam Hussein. Thus ends the summary of Chapter 3 of this pretty sordid story. Chapter 4 starts with the war over the Straits of Hormuz.

So now they are coming out and admiting in so many words that Ron Paul was right about the economy and now about U.S. policy in the Middle East.

#3 Brad, do you have any proof, or are you just repeating what the voices in your head are whispering to you?
October 17th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
#5 HRH: Proof. Why would I waste my time putting in words what very informed people already know. Suggest you do some reading and research before you ask for “proof”. It is all there just research and read and watch factual documentaries and then cross check. Every time you hear or read something in the MSM or the media or Net, go check it out for yourself and detail it according to the way your mind retains information and timelines. It is interesting history.

The Shah’s nationalist policies were making him more popular in Iran and making his country more independent and more powerful. This worried the CIA and MI6.
1. The Shah bought land from the upper classes and, along with the crown’s own land, sold it back cheaply to tenant farmers. Over one a half million people to became land owners, thus ending the old feudal system.
2.The Shah allowed women the right to vote. He brought an end to the wearing of the veil.
3. He developed plans for a $90 billion nuclear power program.
4. The Shah signed petroleum agreements with ENI, the Italian oil company.
5. He began to close down the opium industry. This had been created during the days of British influence.
‘Former intelligence officer’ Dr John Coleman considers opium to be of prime importance in the toppling of the Shah (Conspirators’ Hierarchy: The Story of the Committee of 300 – 6). Dr Coleman is sometimes described as being a conspiracy theorist.
Coleman believes that the US government toppled the Shah of Iran.
He writes:
Why was the Shah deposed…? In a word, because of DRUGS. The Shah had clamped down and virtually put an end to the immensely lucrative opium trade being conducted out of Iran by the British. At the time that the Shah took over in Iran, there were already one million opium/heroin addicts.
This the British would not tolerate, so they sent the United States to do their dirty work for them in terms of the “special relationship” between the two countries.
When Khomeini took over the U.S. Embassy in Teheran, arms sales by the United States, which had begun with the Shah, were not discontinued…
After 1984, Khomeini’s liberal attitude toward opium had increased the number of addicts to 2 million, according to United Nations and World Health Organization statistics.
Both President Carter and his successor, Ronald Reagan, willingly and with full knowledge of what was at stake, went on supplying arms to Iran even while American hostages languished in captivity…
The arms trade with Iran was sealed at a meeting between Cyrus Vance… and Dr. Hashemi, which resulted in the U.S. Air Force beginning an immediate airlift of arms to Iran, carried on even at the height of the hostage crisis the arms came from U.S. Army stockpiles in Germany and some were even flown directly from the United States with refueling stops at the Azores.
With the advent of Khomeini… opium production skyrocketed. By 1984 Iran’s opium production exceeded 650 metric tons of opium per annum…. Iran presently rivals the Golden Triangle in the volume of opium produced.
October 17th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Further, I don’t have any real problem with anyone personally using opiates for pain when nothing else will work. Regular use and drug addiction as a result of flooded markets are something else.

The attack on the Shah’s government came through the Muslim Brotherhood and through the mullahs and ayatollahs of Iran, supported and manipulated by British Intelligence…
Dr. John Coleman, a former British Intelligence agent… states in his report on Iran’s Islamic Revolution (11) that the Muslim Brotherhood was created by “the great names of British Middle East intelligence” …and that their mission was to “keep the Middle East backward so that its natural resource, oil, could continue to be looted…”
Dr. Coleman writes that in 1980 the broadcasts of Radio Free Iran divided the enemies of the Shah into four categories: 1. Iranian politicians bought by the Israeli Shin Bet, 2. The CIA’s network of agents, 3. The feudal landowners, 4. The Freemasons and the Muslim Brotherhood (viewed as the same enemy).
In his report Dr. Coleman writes that in Iran, “At one time there was even a joke about the mullahs being stamped ‘made in Britain.’” When the Shah introduced his plan for modernization in 1963 the Ayatollah Khomeini emerged as the leader of the religious opposition. Up until his exile from Iran in 1964, Khomeini was based at the religious city of Qom. Dr. Coleman relates that Radio Free Iran claimed that while at Qom Khomeini received a “monthly stipend from the British, and he is in constant contact with his masters, the British.”

Americans have alone done the damage to the world. Like they did everywhere in the world so do they in Iran. To keep the wealth withing handful of elite, they will cross every limit to do so. Their sole mission is the mission of Satan. They are Lucifer’s close ally. What they are doing for him has no one has ever dream of doing. They are doing what possibly one can do for destruction. They are intellectual blind. They have no limits. They are willing to please their beast, a vulture feeding on its own people. They just don’t end here. They signed a bond to Lucifer that they are ready to spend eternity in hell.

Where did it go?
October 17th, 2008 at 7:40 pm
Lol! I near laughed my ass off when I read the title “U.S. policies may have contributed to Iran revolution, study says.” That is as about as obvious as saying “King George III policies may have contributed to American revolution, study says.”
In all seriousness the lack of military support did not lead to the Shah’s downfall nearly as much as the fact he was a prick. I have read several accounts of his rule where he would go and spend a shit load of money on himself while his people lived without necessities such as electricity and under constant threat of his secret police. Then when people started protesting, he would massacre them by the hundreds. In the end his whole country rose up against him and no amount of conventional weapons could save his sorry ass when 90%+ of his country was gunning for him. Amazingly enough most of my fellow Americans cannot figure out why the Middle East and Iran in general “hate us for no reason.” I am sure King George III wondered the same thing about us.
P.S. If martial law is declared, I propose we should all get together and exile President Bush just like the Shah, but instead of Egypt let’s make it the pits of Hell;)

Hello
October 17th, 2008 at 9:02 pm
Duh! U.S. foreign policies have contributed to a whole slew of the world’s problems. It the
“elephant” in the living room that nobody wants to talk about. We like to talk about terrorism,
but nobody about the grievenace that foster it.
October 17th, 2008 at 11:09 pm
As Ron Paul has pointed out, our own CIA coined the phrase “Blow Back” as their in depth study into the causes of terrorisim, is in fact our foreign policies and this has been known and published in books going back to the 1950’s.
Tragic that our shadow think tank government is somehow unfamiliar with such important finds by the CIA and fairly well known among the better educated.
It is equally tragic that the method of fighting the insurgents in Iraq and middle east, is the very method that the Naval War College and other militaries from around the world find to have the highest rate of failure. Training the locals and using one’s former enemies as converts to fight a war as we are attempting to do, simply does not work and it’s beyond me that our think tank missed this one too.
It is also tragic that our leaders have selected methods for an economic bail out plan , that also have a very high failure rate with market controls and price fixing, exactly what we did leading up to the depression of 1870 and the great depression.
I can only conclude that our leaders are following a script from think tank and shadow government, to shatter every US institution for the sake of an undisclosed reconstruction of this country, on behalf of the NWO. In order to end up where we are, every event, including 9/11, the Patriot Act, the middle east war(s), Executive legislation for continuity of government, are all essential to such a grand plan, where everything falls on Q, like a line up of standing dominoes. We are being sabotaged under the radar, by our own government. How else could every wrong method, with the highest historical failure rate be consistently selected for use by our leaders?
How did our leaders miss all of that??? Make no mistake, there are no coincidences here and that is why we are where we are.
October 17th, 2008 at 11:23 pm
This is a no brainer.
After one fires a few rounds back at the enemy, a very high rate of failure at winning a war would be to stand up tall and look outward to see if you got them. This method of engaging the enemy has a very high rate of failure according to any strategic military training manual.
Using the locals and converting one’s former enemies in a sectarian civil war is also a method guaranteed to fail and is listed with the Naval War College, as the most expensive and most likely method to fail. How did our leaders miss that one!!!
October 17th, 2008 at 11:59 pm
How is Donald Rumsfield involved in so much evil? He is an NWO all-star puppet.
October 18th, 2008 at 5:14 am

[quote]“The shah is a tough, mean guy. But he is our real friend,” Kissinger warned Ford
“He is the ringleader on oil prices, together with Venezuela,” Simon told President Nixon in July 1974, referring to the Iranian ruler. “Is it possible to put pressure on the shah?”
“We should get credit for what happened at OPEC,” Kissinger told Ford. “I have said all along the Saudis were the key. . . . Our great diplomacy is what did it.”
But U.S. officials, especially Simon, had been working with Saudi officials behind the shah’s back to seek help on oil prices in exchange for political and military support for the Arab kingdom.

Americans won’t ever believe that their country ever did anything wrong. Everything can be explained away, and things that can’t are simply “conspiracy theories” perpetrated by kooks.
Look, America is no different. Americans are no different. America is filled with humans, thus it is fallable and subject to atrocity. Americans walk around so proud and untouchable, but their fly is unzipped and they’re trailing a 20 foot strip of toilet paper from their heel. And there’s blood on their hands.
I’m at least 8th generation born in America, on both sides of my family, but I do not consider the vast majority of people here as “countrymen.” Most are totally un-American. I’m certainly not talking about race or creed here. I’m talking about ideals and values, morals and fortitude. Americans have no stomach for truth. They have no desire to “pay the piper.” Earn, spend, rut, spend, borrow, spend, watch the tube, rut, spend, borrow, spend, watch the tube, etc. And our ears are closed.
October 18th, 2008 at 1:03 pm
It does not matter anymore because America will not Invade Iran Anyway, read Cutting Edge’s Artical on the Iran-America conflict.
Anyhow there is just going to be a secular coup in Iran so it does not matter!
October 18th, 2008 at 1:05 pm
You fooks did not know this? This is standard knowledge in European schools. Iran was a democracy and one of the FOUNDING members of the United Nations. One of the things they did was to let the whole population benefit from the oil trades. This, and the fact that Iran at the time shares a border with Russia, scared Brittain and the US.
They put the oilmarket back in control of the companies by installing a religious leader. The problem was how to do this in a democracy. Their answer was to finance religious propagada and so the Shah became the leader.
Iran is still more or less democratic. It’s not ideal, but it works and it’s stable, considering the fact that there are over 20 ethnic groups and different religions in Iran. Each election, the secular people score nearly 50%. Soe Iran might turn itself into a secular governed country by itself soon.
Even to suggest to go in and fight the politic situation is utterly hypocritical.

A agree.. we in the US have been spoon fed “sanitized history” where the GVT always did good, our leaders were always wise and good..etc.. all that happy horse crap..
If people really used the Inet references and historically documented factual books of the history of the US they would certainly have a different outlook..
Earlly Jamestown for exaple.. I wouldn’t like having my tongue nailed to a tree for cursing as a punishment .. But you don’t hear that
If I were a Veteran promised a bonus for fighting for my country in WWI I would not expect the President to order US Troops on me during a peaceful awaiting period.. like BEF (Bonus Expeditionary Force) had done to them during the depression…
Smedley Butler earned two Medals of Honor.. yet is rarely mentioned in history.. stood up to the GVT when a financial coup was attempted on FDR.. no mention of that openly..
Pearl Harbor… while debateable.. certainly had some finacail values to be exploited by some..
I am sure some will question my items mentioned here… I am not here to carry you. Get curious and LEARN FOR YOURSELF…
Google the info and engage brain..

I see that you know nothing about Iran!
90% of the iranian people want to get rid of the mullahs regime and the arabic gang occupying this
great country Iran with a history of over 2500 years!
Currently iran is a “black dictatorship”. Black dictatorship because it is the worst one of all dictatorships!
It is a theocracy!
You don’t have a the rule of law, you have the rule of sharia!
The barbaric and backwarded law of Islam!
The Iranian regime is terrorizing its own citizens for over 30 years!
There aren’t any free elections in iran!
Womans are being treated as second class citizens!
So what the fuck are you talking about!
Don’t mess with me!

I don’t have time to read all the comments so forgive me if someone else has already brought this up. I used to get mad when someone would say that the U.S. supported brutal dictatorships until I started checking and lo and behold… I came across Operation Ajax (google it). That’s when it first started in Iran (our govt drew first blood) then we moved on to do the same in other countries and yet the average American, like myself, has or had (in my case) no idea any of this was going on. Most Americans continue to truly believe that non-Americans hate us for our “freedom”. — I guess my Daddy was right when he used to tell me back in the 60s and 70s that we don’t have this “freedom” that we’re constantly being told that we have.
October 18th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
And then they want to use this technology against us? The people that paid for it? This is madness… time to rise up and finish this!!!

yes the u.s has ALOT to do with all this.
after all the cia was on top of all things. the cia toppeled a democratic government in iran and placed a blood thirsty dictator in place of a democratically chosen president. why?
because the democratic president chose to nationalize iranian oil and also threatened to nationalize other sources that the us needs to grow and stay a world power.
iran was well off, and could still be very well off now but thanks to israel and the united states government policies with foreign relations, like many developing countries it still struggles to get on its feet. but soon enough justice will be brought down upon those responsable for the terrorist actions that have been taking place in this world. all for greed and power. the day will come and the people will speak. many in the usa are starting to wake up. its a matter of time, there wont be room for secrets. and saddly but true, the american people are going to go through some tough times and all because of some seriously psycho greedy lying people who claim to be democratically chosen. there is no such thing as democracy. open your eyes.

Operation Ajax was in the year 1953 to overthrow Mossadegh!
But I am talking about the so called islamic revolution in the year 1979 where the whole events were organized by the CIA/NSA/french DGSE/ Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) and the MI6!
It was one of the biggest Operations in the 20th century done by the western intelligent agencies!
Khomeini was an MI6 Asset who was brought to Iran/Tehran secured by the french DGSE throught a Boing 747 after the so called revoultion was successfull which was in fact a coup!
October 19th, 2008 at 8:59 am
The Mastermind of the so called islamic revolution was the bastard and psychopath Zbigniew Brzezinski!
October 19th, 2008 at 11:25 am
Here Exile Iranian goes blaming everything on Islam while the USA worked systematically to destroy Iran. You admit that the Islamic Revolution was organized by the CIA then blame Islam. Under every Mullahs turban you can find an American or British flag.
I’ll be sure to tell Hafez, Sa’adi, Rumi, Khayyam, Ibn Bibi, Ata-Malik Juvayni, al-Tusi, Jamshid Kashani and many others followed a backward religion.
If Exiled Iranian lived in the time of the Mongols that conquered his country killed the learned and burned the books he would have blamed the Kings of Khwarezmia. Please don’t come back to Iran.
Actually the war with Iraq who the USA armed with chemical weapons. The CIA created SAVAK created by the Western CIA caused many problems in Iran. The government is Iran is very bad right now but it is the reaction to the decades of hostile actions taken against Iran. Iranians must fight for their basic freedoms and get ready of a theocracy, but Islam is not the problem. The problem is the ayatullahs and mullahs. Please don’t mistake Islam with them.
Exile Iranian khol bazi dar nayar! Also, you name should be “Exiled” Iranian not Exile. Kos Kesh.
October 19th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
Over the past 150 years America has involved and inserted itself throught the world, most of it during the last 100 years or so. During that time the actions Washington took against any perceived hostile regimes were considered expedient. History shows those actions to be failures and eventually they cost America even more in lives and money.
The history of the U.S. throughout Latin America is a complete failure and has created a backlash against American influence to the point where there is now a collective resentment and new allignment of those nations.
The same goes for the far east and the middle east as well: All failures doomed to blowback and eventual further costly mistakes in foreign policy.
It is now known the reason Japan attacked Pearl Harbor was that the U.S and Britain had conspired to isolate Japan from Asian markets and resources. This they did with great success until Japan felt it had no further recourse.
Chalmers Johnson has written a book I believe, entitled “Sins of Our Fathers”. Johnson was a CIA
employee for a number of years, and this book is a history of CIA intervention and failures wich would eventually lead to the situation we’re in today.
Unless we elect new people into this government and facillitate “real change” the U.S. will continue to blunder along blindly for the benefit of the corporate elite and the cost of this blundering will continue to rise. We need real change in diplomacy and a new attitude towards other nations and our own situation. Until then America will be on course for its own destruction.

U.S. policies “may” have contributed to the Iranian Revolution of 1979? LOL! HOW about the policies of the U.S. WERE THE CAUSE OF THE REVOLUTION! It all goes back to 1953 and the U.S. backed overthrow of the democratically elected Mohammed Mossadegh in Iran. Eisenhower, he of the phony lament about the military-industrial complex, sent the CIA thugs to IRan to help overthrow Mossadegh. WHen it was accomplished, the CIA propped up the brutal dictator aka the SHAH of IRan. THe SHah was nothing more than a puppet. HE gave control of the country’s oil to U.S. and British oil firms. They recieved most of the profits while the people of IRan starved. Kennedy, LBJ, nixon, ford, and Carter sent U.S. taxpayers money to Iran to buttress their brutal military dictatorship. In 1979, after 26 years of brutality underwritten by America, the people had ENOUGH! THey overthrew the U.S. puppet and elected a president. After they overthrew the puppet, Jimmy Carter gave refuge to him by allwing him in the U.S. This angered the people of Iran to no ends and they stormed our embassy in Tehran. Instead of handing over the puppet shah that tortured Iranians for 26 years, Jimmy carter “punished” the Iranians by not buying oil from them. THis is the real reason for the gas shortage of the late 70’s. Ever since losing control of Iran, the U.S. has demonized the nation. They want control of that country again and will stop at nothing to get it!
October 19th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
They weren’t all poets that I mentioned moron. However, they were all Muslim. Hafez memorized the Qur’an at a very young age. Ibn Bibi, Ata-Malik Juvayni, al-Tusi, Jamshid Kashani were not poets. They were historians, scientists, and mathematicians. These great contributors to Persian culture were all Muslim. You must be the stupid Persian on the face of the earth if you don’t know they were Muslims. I believe in the freedom of religion. I don’t care if you worship fire like I know you do but don’t insult the religions of others. I have great respect for Zoroastrians but your heart is hardened and filled with hate. You are blind to the achievements of others. Most of the great thinkers in Persia after the Arab conquest were Sufis and Muslims.
If Hafez, Khayyam, and the rest of them were not Muslim what was their religion majus boy?
Imam Khomeini is not my leader as you say. I said he was a bad man and the ayatullahs and mullahs were the problem in Iran. You say rest Reza Shah’s soul in peace while the CIA helped create SAVAK that killed many Iranians. The USA worked to destroy both Iraq and Iran because they were advancing and becoming modernized. Iraq had a very advanced social services program. So they first supported Iran and the Shah. Then supported the wank Khomeini to overthrow the government of Iran. Then armed Saddam with chemical weapons to destroy your country. Now the USA is continuing to punish Iraq and Iran. Iraq through war, Iran through sanctions. They don’t want any regional powers. The Shah was stupid to befriend the USA. They never had any intention of being friends with him. They were always working to undermine the Persians.
THE SHAH OF IRAN HIMSELF WAS A MUSLIM YOU IGNORANT DEVIL!!!!!!
The only people that destroyed Persia are the Mongols and Americans!
Please quit crying about Arabs!
Ghaznavid Empire
Ghori dynasty
Seljukid Empire
Khwarezmid dynasty
NONE OF THESE DYNASTYS WERE ARABS.
Arabs only took Iraq from the Persians. The Persians ruled themselves.
You don’t even live in Iran your words are not Iranian.
Islam is a great religion. You can see that in the civilizations that were built. The Mamluks in Egypt the Mughals in India the Ummayids all over the and in Spain and many other examples.
Also I never said Iranians are Arabs. You have an ideology of racism that makes you think you are better than other people in the Middle East. If you were a wise man you would hold that Iran would open relations with Egypt if you don’t like Arabs. The Egyptians and Persians combined would be a great force to resist Arab influence in your nations. But you are probably a moron that thinks Egyptians are Arabs! You are deeply infected with racism from the West. You are not addressing anything in my message. You are just ignoring facts and putting words in my mouth. I see that you don’t know history.
I know the Persians that went to India that were Muslims created a great culture. The Mughals were the ones who built the Taj Mahal. You can see their architecture all over northern India.
come to rasht and see how long you last after you talk shit

Exile Iranian you are a very ignorant man.
You think Arabs worship a different god. Do Persians worship a different god because they say Khoda? Allah is the Arabic word for God just as the word Khoda is the Persian word for God.
You call me a backward Lebanese or Afghan. You don’t know who I am.
But I know who you are. You are a asylum seeker talking trash about your country hiding in the west that is responsible for destroying Persia. I never left my country you devil.
You don’t love Persians or Persian history. You are a dirty devil filled with racism. If you were Iran I guarantee it would not matter if the person you were talking to was a Jew a Zoroastrian a Muslim or a Christian he would beat you into a bloody pulp.
October 19th, 2008 at 5:52 pm
Exile Iranian why do you speak poorly about Lebanese. Don’t you know half Lebanese are Christian? There is a statue in Lebanon of the Virgin Mary entitled Our Lady of Harissa.

I am the servant of the Qur’an as long as I have life
I am the dust on the path of Muhammad the Chosen One
If anyone quotes anything except this from my sayings
I am quit of him and outraged by these words
Stop making Khayyam outraged by your blasphemy calling him a zoroastrian. You can’t face facts.
October 20th, 2008 at 2:46 am
Your quotes of Kayyam are phony!
Made by the I.R. Regime!
It is horrific because people are not realizing what really is going on in iran!
They are trying to change and rewrite the ancient persian history to link it with stinky islam!
This is disgusting!

Muslims do not worship Jehovah they worship some pagan moon god (where do you think that they get the crescent moon symbol to begin with?)
Its everywhere on ancient statuary, representing a false moon god.
Just because Allah apparently means “god” and that Arab Christians or Jews call YHWH Allah doesnt mean a thing.
All it means is that there is apparently no better word for Jehovah God in Arabic so Arab Christians or Jews call Him Allah out of convenience.
Muslims’ Allah denies the Trinity, and denies the Sonship and Lordship of Jesus. Thus Allah is not our God
October 20th, 2008 at 11:45 am
Christina #59 what word do you think Christian Arabs use? They too say Allah… go read a bible in Arabic it also says Allah. Don’t tell me Jacobites, Coptics, Nestorians. Saint Abo of Tiflis was an Arab. Saint John of Damascus lived in Damascus and was raised by an Arab Christian family. All these Arab Christians said Allah when speaking Arabic.
Allah is just the Arabic word for God it’s simple as that.
The Quran accepts all the prophets and even calls Jesus the Messiah in the Bible. The only thing Muslims don’t accept is Jesus being the son of God or a part of a trinity. You can read about Joseph, Lot, Moses, Jesus, Noah and many others in the Quran.
As for the Moon symbol it has nothing to do with Islam. It was a symbol the Sultans used. Some of the Mamluk Sultans used it. The Ottomans used it. In fact people in Constantinople used it before the Muslims conquered Constantinople. Maybe Christians are moon worshipers after all? The Turks used the symbol of the moon before the Quran was around. The Sassanian Empire of Persia also used the moon symbol. Are you telling me Muslims worship a moon? The Muslims conquered Persia long ago and the Persians converted to ISLAM! Muslims worship the all knowing all powerful God of the Universe just as Jews and Christians. It should be noted that the crescent was not a symbol used for Islam by Muhammad or any other early Muslim ruler.
The Turks and others only kept it because it’s apart of their heritage… rightly or wrongly that’s the facts. Allah is simply another word for God like Khoda.
To Exile Persian…. You are an ignorant that ignores history. Go ask credible anthropologists and historians. After Islam came to Persia the scientists and poets and mathematicians were MUSLIM. They weren’t forced.
Hafez lived in the 1300’s. That’s well after Persia had become a Islamic country. There was no need to force him to be a Muslim. The majority of the people were Muslim and accepted Islam. Jews and Zoroastrians were free to practice their religion. As you know Jews and Zoroastrians still live in Persia
.
However when the Mongols conquered Persia the Zoroastrians were the first ones to help Hulagu Khan and helped destroy the books and knowledge of Persia.
It’s impossible to argue with you ignorants because you are not bound to anything. You don’t accept history or science to math. If I say the Shah was a Muslim you say he was just a Muslim on paper. If I say Hafez was a Muslim you say no he wasn’t while the history is clear. Ask a Western scholar of Farsi in the West if you want to know!
You twist words and deny facts Exile Persian. I would recommend you read The Cambridge History of Iran as a basic beginning but I doubt you have the money to be capable to buy the book or the ability to read above a kindergarten level.
October 20th, 2008 at 11:53 am
I meant to say don’t tell me Jacobites, Nestorians or Coptics are moon worshipers. They are Christians worshiping God.
October 20th, 2008 at 11:54 am
The Malankara Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church since I’m not sure you know about Jacobites.
October 20th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
The use of the term Allah in Arabic speaking Christian churches predates Islam by several centuries. Baibars is correct in this matter.
October 20th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
Quote:”Hafez lived in the 1300’s. That’s well after Persia had become a Islamic country. There was no need to force him to be a Muslim. The majority of the people were Muslim and accepted Islam. Jews and Zoroastrians were free to practice their religion”
The biggest shit I ever read!
You said the people accepted Islam!?
Are you dreaming!?
They were threatened to become Islam!
They used brainwashing tactics like raping, harassmen, threating, massacre…
Thats how Islam could spread in a short period time!
Why don’t you visit the Website http://www.faithfreedom.org?
Are you afraid of facing the truth about your false satanic religion!
Salman Rushdi told us the truth about Islam 20 years ago!
Qoran = The Satanic Verses
The false prophet Mohammed was a pedophile, psychopath, sex addicted and a bloodthirsty rapist!
He was the son of satan!
His right hand was Ali who was a bloodthirsty killer, psychopath and rapist!
October 20th, 2008 at 12:46 pm
I see you are very filled with hate Exile Iranian. This will be my last message to you on this since you are so hateful. Have you ever read The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie? By reading your message I know you have not. It was a fiction book you moron. It’s a novel. It’s about a Bollywood superstar. Salman Rushdie is a good man who simply wrote a novel. He wasn’t attacking Bollywood or Islam he was simply writing a piece of entertaining literature to sell. Probably the Satanic Verses is a reflection of the author’s own dilemmas. Exile Iranian you are a sick racist with a disease in your heart. You are the enemy of all God loving people whether they be Deist, Jewish, Christian, Islamic, or good people don’t follow a major religion. You are an enemy of the people. If Exile Iranian lived in the time of Hulagu Khan he would have helped him destroy Persia.
Thank you bab al-nasr… I wish more people knew that Arab Christians were saying “Allah” centuries before the Prophet Muhammad was born because it’s simply the Arabic word for God.
October 20th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
Actually, Persians were forced to convert to Islam by the sword over 1400 years ago. Some areas in Iran are somewhat tolerant to other religions. Not only did Jews in Isfahan celebrate a religious holiday recently in their several synagogues but an article on their assistance to victims of the Bam earthquake mentioned there are 25000 Jews in Iran. They’ve had plenty of opportunity to leave for Israel over the past 60 years but have not. Why not? This is a plain example of the difference between Judaism as a religion and Zionism which is about the land. This article does not surprise me considering the pressures we exerted on Saddam in later years (indirectly through the Kuwaitis).
October 20th, 2008 at 3:05 pm
To curtis #66:
How you think Islam reached Indonesia? No Muslim army conquered them or forced them to convert. Indonesia has over 200 million people. The majority of them chose to be Muslims the rest follow other major religions or follow local beliefs. Islam was not spread by the sword.
October 20th, 2008 at 3:14 pm
Actually let me rephrase what I said. Islam was spread by the sword. The Muslims liberated Egypt from the Byzantines that were boiling Coptic Christians in hot oils and waters. The Coptic Pope greeted the Muslims as liberators from the Romans/Byzantines. The Romans were the ones killing Christians and forcing them to believe in a different number of Jesus’s nature. And I should know I was a Roman Catholic from Mexican family. I converted to Islam no one forced me to convert through a sword.
October 20th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
The Dutch ruled Indonesia for centuries by guns why didn’t they become Christian? They were oppressed but they stuck to their Islamic roots. Muslims never sent an army to Indoesia the West did. Why do Christians send missionaries all over the world? Muslims don’t use missionaries. You go to poor Africans and say we’ll give you a visa or food if you convert. That’s really shameful.
October 20th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
No Muslim army forced anyone to convert in fiji or maldives or mauritous =)

It’s amazing how everyone makes the shit they beleive in so innocent… the muslim religion was forced onto iran and like most religions its a mental illness… religions are the leading mental illness in the world and people who beleive in them arent at fault. those people were spoon fed the idea of god and religion into them as a child it’s completly illogical but just as much ignorant because those who beleive simply want to have faith and beleive blindly LMAO. it’s so stupid and i have no respect for religious people. I know for a fact religion doesnt make someone a good person… the fear of being punished into hell only goes so far and i’ve met a lot of religious nuts who stole from me and done all kinds of shit because they thought jesus forgives lol. well fuck because if their fairy tail beleifs forgive them it wont keep me from punching their lights out if i see them again

Isn’t this topisc a little too late? The Us..not through it’s own intellect during the last century harvested the best of the worst from WWII Germany to develop a foundation for it’s dirty business agencies…
The US adapted quite well to their ideals.. Now here we are.. Little conspiracies tuned up through the tests of time…
Hidden agency agendas.. funded by the taxpayer but no open view of their agenda.. GVt officials complicit.. God what a mess.. and all this deception is somehow supposed to lead to a “trust” among world countries and GVTS?..
Like I am supposed to come back after my death as a Golden calf to be worshiped by bull frogs …. Right….

Now whole world knew this since 50’s!!!!!
It is about that time Americans learn that ugly irreversible truth that caused : hostage taking, Iran contra deals(please no dog tags next time), short range Israel rockets for Iran and Saddam’s payback with Scuds in GW1. Sadly of all Operation Eagle Claw that wasted true Americans in prabobly worst action(ok there was Anaconda). Let us learn from the past and preserve values that were once American.
