Veterans Arrested, Trampled at Presidential Debate

Editor’s note: As usual, the corporate media did not find this story worthy of notice.
One hour before the final presidential debate of the 2008 campaign, fourteen members of IVAW marched in formation to Hofstra University to present questions for the candidates. IVAW had requested permission from debate moderator Bob Schieffer to ask their questions during the debate but got no response.

The contingent of veterans in dress uniforms and combat uniforms attempted to enter the building where the debate was to be held in order to ask their questions but were turned back by police. The IVAW members at the front of the formation were immediately arrested, and others were pushed back into the crowd by police on horseback. Several members were injured, including former Army Sergeant Nick Morgan who suffered a broken cheekbone when he was trampled by police horses before being arrested.
“Neither of the candidates have shown real support for soldiers and veterans. We came here to try and get serious questions answered, questions that we as veterans of the Iraq war, have a right to ask, but instead we were arrested. We will continue to ask these questions no matter who is elected. We believe that the time has come to end this war and bring our troops home, and we will be pushing for that no matter what happens in this election.” said Jason Lemieux, a former Sergeant in the US Marine Corps and member of IVAW who served three tours in Iraq.
A total of 10 veterans were arrested during the action, including Matthis Chiroux, Kristopher Goldsmith, Adam Kokesh, Mike Spinato, Geoff Millard, Marlisa Grogan, Nathan Peld, Nick Morgan, James Gilligan and Jose Vasquez.

So what can YOU do about it? My fellow veteran brothers need you. We need to call the NY police department and ask them why they would trample IRAQ WAR VETERANS exercising their FREEDOM SPEECH in a peaceful manner. Is this the way members of the military who don the uniform and make an oath to defend the constitution, America, and it’s people are treated? We MUST NOT ONLY hold the Police Department accountable but the Presidential Candidates as well for allowing this to happen. THIS IS NOT DEMOCRACY, THIS IS A POLICE STATE.

When I turned on the TV here in my hotel this morning. The Today show was on, there was a woman (I did not get her name )speaking to the shows host about this particular incident and about the loss of liberties in this country. The host of the show was giggling and called her “a little Paranoid”. She then started to cut her off saying they were out of time. I don’t know how to get this information “video link” (clip) and put it on the net or I would.

As a former Marine who recently left the the military, I would like to ensure you that we veterans, especially Marines are more than capable of throwing rounds down range when the time comes. You obviously don’t understand the scope of this type of police presence that has grown in this country. Twenty ex- military vets fighting the entire NYCPD at a presidential debate is not feasible. It’s important that people, those that are currently police/ military see this sh#t so they understand that are government has been hijacked by global fascist, not Uncle Sam. Marcle, you also need to have some consideration for those who serve, it takes alot for them to come to to terms with the the lies they’ve been subjected to, I know, I went through it.

I have a friend that was there supporting those troops when it happened, but she said that 3 were arrested, I didn’t realize that it was 10. According to her they were only trying to get their questions answered when this all went down. I highly doubt that anybody will get trampled at this Sundays debate for all 6 candidates.

As a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), I’m greatly upset that my fellow veterans
were treated in this fashion!!!! They were acting as true patriots by peacefully demostrating outside the presidential debates and had every right too. After all, these two candidates will soon become the future commander-in-chief of our military. Also, having risked life and limb for this nation, if anyone should have a say in these political debates the IRAQ and AFGHAN WAR VETERANS certainly do!!!!! What this tells me is that both political parties (Democrats & Republicans) along with the mainstream media are controlled by Wall Street (the Big Banks/Insurance/Investment Firms/Big Pharma), The Military-Industrial-Complex (The Defense Contractors/War Profiteers), Think-Tanks (PNAC/The American Enterprise Institute/The Heritage Foundation,etc.), and Secret Societies (Skull & Bones/Freemasonary/Bohemian Grove/Jesuits/CFR/TLC,etc.). But if I had things my way there would be several major changes
made in how America ran:
1.) Withdraw all U.S. forces from Iraq and Afghanistan.
2.) End the “American Empire” of military bases (in over 100 countries).
3.) Abolish the Federal Resevre System and the Federal Income Tax. Return to Tariff tax system.
4.) Ban all Electronic Voting Machines and return to paper ballots.
5.) Nullify all “Free-Trade” Agreements and the North American Union (NAU).
6.) Return to regulating the Banking, Insurance, Food, and other industries.
7.) End the illegal governmet wiretapping and spying on U.S. citizens.
8.) Increase the funding of the U.S. Border Patrol and Customs Agencies.
9.) Have a policy of energy independence from foreign oil ( more domestic oil drilling, alternative energy sources-wind, garbage, solar, etc).
10.)End both corporate and individual welfare programs.
11.)Abolish FEMA, the IRS, COG (Continue of Governmet), etc.

I picked up on this story yesterday and posted it here in Infowars replies. There really are no words to express the degree of outrage that Iraq veterans were treated like swine. The police even refused to call an ambulance for the head injured, disoriented man in the photo.
Take this issue right to Bloomberg. He knows what is happening in the city and knows about all the thuggery. His silence obviously means he acquiesces to all of it. With so many millions of New Yorkers, getting thousands to protest these actions in the same way the Rev. Al Sharpton did recently over his outrage should not be too difficult.

I am a honorable discharged US Marine who enlisted as a patriot, but after having served what was my country and looking at what is happening to what was my country, it is obvious the citizens of this country care little what is happening to this country, for if they cared, our US CONSTITUTION would still be in place, our borders secure, our troops in Iraq sent back home where they belong, and the $$$$ spent on false flag operations and war would go to our infrastructure. This, although on a much smaller scale, brought to mind Hoover’s use of the troops on the veterans outside D.C. Much more than the depression, it was hearing about our troops being used to attack our veterans that ensured a FDR victory. Unfortunately, I doubt the MSM will shed much, if any, light on this atrocity.
It has often been said that history repeats. Right now it seems like we are stuck in 1928-1929 v.2.0. I think that history repeats for two main reasons:

Do not worry, people like you and me, whether a cop or a soldier would protect the masses as they have not only sworn to do but would do it simply out of being human. Although we all feel the same watching stuff like this, I always urge you all to restrain yourselves to reasonable extent if/when shit hits the fan because it’s very easy to do damage than it is to do well. Do not give them reasons to put you behind bars, rather incriminate them by being peaceful. Until you know most cops and service men are on your side, hold your horses; you will have your chances when time is right.

These veterans committed an act of civil disobedience. The police knew what they planned to do and the protesters knew they would be arrested for dicon if they chose not to obey. 10 chose to attempt to enter a credentials only area and were arrested. The rest of the crowd (250 or so) were asked repeatedly to disperse so that Hempstead Tpke. could be re-opened. The crowd would not disperse and several attempted to go around police horses. One individual was grabbed by police officers and his own supporters grabbed him and attempted to pull him back into the crowd. He fell during the scuffle and either hurt his face or was possible stepped on by a police horse. I WAS THERE AND WITNESSED THE ENTIRE INCIDENT UP TO HIS FALL. The horse did not cause the fall. When he went down, my view was blocked and I didn’t see if he was stepped on. People say he was, I did not see that. I did hear the PD call for an ambulance, but it took a while to arrive because Hempstead Tpke. was still shut down because the protesters would not disperse. Ifeel sorry for the man who was injured, but he and the crowd should have listened to the police officers orders to go back across the street and continue there protest from there. I know I will be slammed by this post, but I was there and saw everything. SO BE IT. GOD BLESS

Now back to the subject…I have said this already but now is a very pertinent and opportune time to reiterate it: When the Blackwater paid ‘will kill anyone’ privatized mercenaries begin their attempts to round up civilians it must be stopped period. Not one citizen allowed into a fema camp!!! If you live near what you suspect is a fema camp, organize battle groups and form contingency plans, and practice run them. When the black vans start showing up, stop them before they reach the camps. Free all citizens in them, neutralize the rest, including the vans. As for the black helicoptors, they will need to be neutralized BEFORE the citizens are loaded onto them, meaning: If you hear a helicoptor in your neighborhood at 4 in the morning go and fill that bitch with lead and burn it. Set up secret fortified bunkers/regrouping points on at least 4 sides of the camps. Practice runs around the camps are advised. Once familiarized, just keep watch and wait for the first van.
As a general rule ALL these nasty fucking camps should be COMPLETELY DESTROYED BEYOND FUBAR! Who do these fucking people think they are? Who do they think we are? Gear up!

I’m still wondering about a source for that obama contribution because I was under the impression that Ron Paul recieved huge unprecidented support form the military which I doubted from the begining. Large numbers of people in the military are not into invading and killing practically defenceless people.????? That’s not what I see on youtube, or in katrina.

I just watched a PBS show on the “Sixties” and the ‘Nam…. arresting anti-war veterans seemed to be a common thread in the program. We use our children to do our “dirty work” and then we arrest them when they rebel and say we are wrong. God help us when they use those skill sets we trained them in and they come back and sack those “leaders” who sent them overseas to kill and they turn on their masters!!!!

There seems to be many who think that it is wrong to disobey a tyrannical Government and it’s minions. I really cannot understand why anyone would just be blind followers of ANY TYRANNY.
I guess that there are some that think it’s OK to tase people to death, ignore the Constitution, steal your money, put you in camps, and draft you into their military to take over sovereign nations because our Government wants their natural resources.
It’s Ok to destroy the nations currency so they can join economic forces with all the neighboring countries and welcome in the Amero when it comes.
It seems to me that this guy everyone calls GOD gave everybody eyes and yet you are still BLIND, to see the truth that is laid before them in an obvious and open fashion and yet so blind.
GOD gave you all a mouth to speak the truth and to spread the truth as you perceive it to be but out of your mouths come lies and deceit.
God gave everyone a brain to comprehend reality and to make decisions based on the truths that are laid before you yet many do not think with a rational comprehension and jumble fables into truths and vise’ verse’.
GOD gave everyone ears to hear the truths being spoken but it seems they would rather utilize all of these senses to become brainwashed and to indulge in pointless sporting events and needless idle small talk that benefits absolutely no-one in any way shape or form and learn nothing about the history that continues to repeat itself because the same people have ruled this planet for two thousand years and you wonder why history repeats itself.

I believe the U.S. Solders who have served in Iraq have earned the right to speak and ask questions! But and theres a big but we no longer have a Government BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE so they dont care what I think or what they think period!
