A friend of Grant’s [the man killed by BART cops] who was with him on the crowded Oakland train station platform at the time of the shooting said Grant pleaded with officers not to harm him.
“Oscar yelled, ‘You shot me! I got a four-year-old daughter,”‘ said Fernando Anicete. “Oscar was telling us to calm down and we did. We weren’t looking for any trouble.”
Burris claims the shooting was intentional, and that he planned to ask Alameda County prosecutors to seek criminal charges against the officer. Burris said Grant, of Hayward, Calif., posed no threat to officers when a bullet entered his back and ricocheted to his lung area, killing him almost instantly.
“The officer leaned (in), was straddling over him and pointed his gun directly into the backside and shot (Grant),” said Burris, adding that Grant was handcuffed — after he was shot. “This was not a deadly force situation.”

It’s always standard police procedure to hand cuff a perp after he’s dead. Never underestimate the potential danger posed by a fresh corpse.
I can only imagine the “investigation” that would take place if a non-cop placed a cop on the ground, executed him and then handcuffed him. I think the non-cop would be shot on the spot. But certain police have special rights – the right to execute people at will, the right to avoid investigation and the right to avoid prosecution. Similar to the NYC police executions of men without weapons. No charges against the uniformed murderers.

I saw this yesterday and frankly that piece of trash, needs to be be charged murder 1; The family should push for death penalty. That was a flipping execution. They should forgot the 25-30 million dollars from the bankrupt city and that cop needs to get death row EXPEDITED! (I would prefer that he stand trial for first-degree murder.) Americans are sick of the abuse of authority by law enforcement not just in the Bay Area but all over country. Why didn’t the other police arrest him? If a non-cop pulls out a gun and shoots someone, it’s front page news all over the world. Other officers are interviewed and say how great he was. I stand by my post. I personaly beleive the shooting was an accident..
It was an accident that could have been avoided had the young man been speniding time with his daughter. Even if he had his daughter with him at the fireworks display he would have been on better behavior.

I suppose yor “accidental shooting” opinion would include the officer accidentally getting up and drawing his gun, then accideentally pointing it in the direction of the citizen, then accidentally discharging it.
That’s a lot more “accidents” than I’m willing to accept from someone who is expected to be trained in the use of firearms and charged with the duty of public safety.
Your need to somehow find a justifiable excuse for the kid being shot because he was “fighting” is absurd. God forbid this ever happens to your kid, as I am sure your opinion will quickly change. Last I heard, fighting still wasn’t punishable by death.

Looked to me like the cop didn’t mean to shoot the guy. His body language says “oh shit” right after he shot the guy, maybe he was goin for a taser. Anyway whay the hell would he need to taser the guy, the cops had him pinned down and cuffed, I’ve been in that position you can’t do anything. BART = Bay Area Rapid Transit, and this happened at one of the BART train stations in Oakland. This may have involved cops hired specifically to patrol the station, or “BART cops”. Check http://www.kron4.com and http://www.abclocal.go.com/kgo/index for updates. Google video has also been getting posted footage from the incident. This doesn’t look good, worse than Rodney King as far as I’m concerned. At least King lived.

Accounts differ over body of newborn thrown out with trash

Jersey City police searched garbage dumps in New Jersey and Pennsylvania today for the body of a baby apparently thrown out with the trash at a Jersey City hospital sometime in the past two weeks.
“It’s like they treated my son like he’s nothing,” said Kalynn Moore, the 26-year-old mother. “It hurts so bad.”
A spokeswoman for Christ Hospital said the institution is praying for the baby’s family. But the family and the hospital have very different stories about what happened when Moore came in to give birth to Bashere Davon Moyd Jr. on Dec. 21, about a month before her due date.
Hospital spokeswoman Barbara Davey said in a statement that the baby was stillborn.
Moore, who has a 5-year-old son, said at a news conference today at her lawyer’s office that she was in and out of consciousness in the minutes after the five-pound boy was born. But she said the baby was born alive and that she held him briefly before doctors spent more than 20 minutes trying to stabilize the baby’s heart rate before he died.
The only photo of the child known to have been taken was after he had died. Absent an autopsy, it appears the question of whether the baby was born alive pits the mother’s word against the hospital. There is no birth certificate and no death certificate, though the baby was added to Moore’s Medicaid policy to cover funeral expenses.
The issue of whether the child was born alive could come into play if there’s a lawsuit in the case because New Jersey law does not consider a stillborn a person.
Moore’s cousin, Nicia Royster, said she went with a nurse on Dec. 21 to place the corpse into the hospital’s morgue.
Hospital officials went to the mother’s Jersey City home on Jan. 2 and told her that a funeral home had come to pick up the remains, but they could not be found.
Police said the body was discarded in the trash, but they do not know when. The hospital has not officially said the baby was thrown in the trash but didn’t dispute that statement by police.
Moore’s lawyer, Michael Anise, says there is no reason that a body of a baby — born alive or not — should be placed in the trash.
He said he’s hoping the body can be found so that Moore can bury her child and so that an autopsy can be conducted.
Anise also said he’s asked the hospital to provide any surveillance videos that might have shown what happened.
“We are not at this point ruling out anything,” he said. “The circumstances are so bizarre.”
Anise said a civil lawsuit against the hospital is likely.

Deciding the use of a gun was necessary when the suspect was face down on the ground?

Unbuckling the gun from the holster?
Pulling the gun from the holster?
Inactivating the safety mechanism on the gun?
Pointing the gun at the back of the victim?
Pulling the trigger?
That’s like saying someone accidentally took a shower.
This is what happens when you give power to the weakest members of society; those with a low I.Q. and unresolved childhood issues of control. Instead of therapy they are given a gun and a badge to hide behind. Considering the educational requirements to be a cop is a GED -Good Enough Degree- maybe we shouldn’t be surprised, caveat emptor. Not to mention this rookie cop was on the job for 2 years. So what you have is an angry 20-something-year-old uneducated kid whose been empowered with a gun and hides behind a badge and is now working through is mental problems one bullet at a time.
The only thing left is the cover up and if the past is any indication of the future they will do an excellent job at hiding the truth.

This was wrong! Yet I know others and mostly white men they get murdered by police and the families don’t get a dime! About a year ago a man in a car 3 kennewick Wa. Police surrounded his car. He had no weapon. They shot this young white mail I believe over 30 shots to head and body! It was justified police work they say! The man may have been depressed or high on drugs and moved his vehicle like he was going to run ovwer a police officer. So instead of shooting the tires or engine or using the stun gun or mace. They went wild and 3 police within seconds shot and hit him over 30 times. White boys are free targets! You can’t scream racism or police brutality or murder if you are white. Most often it is only in the local paper. Yes and one of the police dogs went into a man’s yard and attacked him while he was sleeping. I guess that man is getting a few million. In this incident, at least one thing is clear: this person who killed the innocent man is guilty of manslaughter, whether he purposefully did it or not. If you accidently run over someone, that is manslaughter. Accident? Don’t drive a car unless you can handle it correctly, and don’t carry guns unless you can handle them correctly. It is my thought that in this situation, the policeman is at fault, no matter how you look at it. Although money is not the major issue, $100 million plus would say something to these public servants. God give mercy to the ones who seek it. Let the others pay the price.

This crap happens to often. They say they are to protect and serve us! They take you to jail for any reason. They beat you, and kill you! all justified! When you wear the badge you have power and get away with writing bad reports and fake evidence drugs and such..Yes some of these police are evil and they get away with doing wrong. Just once and a while they get caught. When I was a young man I just got of the Gym only some white pants on and shoes. My girl was drinking with a friend and driving a car. She was being a ding. I followed them and they pulled over in front of the police station. I got out of my Jeep and was next to her car. I quickly reached in to take the bottle of booze away from her and her drunk friend. I was not upset and did not harm them. I did not want to see them get into trouble drinking and driving. The next thing I know about 4 police had me on the ground and one was steeping on me. One had his gun out and serious I thought the ding was going to shoot. I was an officer as well not working with them. I did not fight them and did what they said and I said nothing. One told me to get up and another stepped on me again and told me to stay down. The gals left of course. I explained to them what I was doing. They told me to leave them alone or they would arrest me. They then let me go. I was dirty from being on the street and it was wrong what they did. If I would have stuggled I believe the one officer would have shot me. They are like a gang of idots on a power trip. No common sense and zero tolerence. I asked one of the sargents once about police shooting others. He told me if my officers feel threatened they have the right to shoot and kill the person threatening them! So their you have it they are told if you get scared or fear or think you might get hurt bad or if a drunk or doper runs their punk mouth and says cop I am going to kill you! You know dings talk a lot of crap! The officer has been threatened and can shoot and kill…I do not agree with this kind of order. If the person has a weapon and is going to use it! That is self defense! My how times have changed and my how the police have gone crazy! I love the women cops running around like they got balls! Nothing like diversity!

To many cops coming home from Iraq getting hired and out of control. they think they can do what they want when in the Military. I was in the Army, I was not part of anything todo with the war that is going on over there, I was in the cold war. And that alone was a bitch, this cops ‘ex-military’ should not be on the streets. They should not apply and should be seeking help with a good counsellor. It took me about 2 years before I was ‘normal’ if u can define normal these days. The point is, they should not be able to apply for a cop job for at least 2 years after they get out, and then only then go thru more battery of tests then the normal person who wishing to be a cop. Because of the fact of the war has made there since of realaltity gone wild…and not all there up stairs..The military breaks u down anyhow then builds u back up to there wants and needs..!!! and those who are cops in real life and in the guards should not be able to return to work for a min. of 6 months after they get back home…my 2 cents worth..thanks…

This is why everyone should carry some kind of recording device. I agree with those who ask the question, “Why didn’t the people on the train step out at that point and pummel those cops into oblivion.” They should have flooded out of that train like a human tsunami and detained that scumbag but then again, they have the guns. This video literally made me angry enough to break something. I went on google immediately to check if any mainstream news reported this incident and I found 2 articles. One said that a man was shot and killed (MURDERED!!!!) by police after a “massive brawl” broke out on the platform. Well from the video’s we know this is totally false and I hope that gentleman finds himself under the wheels of an oncoming train. The other article had 5-6 lines saying absolutely nothing. Bottom line, expect more and more of these kinds of abuses and be prepared. We are going to have to bring justice, as Malcolm X said it, BY ANY MEANS NECCESSARY! A life where we beg for life reliquishing everything else is not worth living.

Officer Johannes Mehserle is the man who killed this kid in cold blood. Is NAPA near the BART system? I am trying to find out who this guys is and publish his information. Cold blooded killers in uniform can’t get away with this. This is murder. What disturbs me is the two cops that put there back to Oscar Grant for two reasons: 1 to block any pictures or videos of police brutality, and 2: there are preparing to stop anybody that trys to stop it. In hindsite I think if the people on the train thought Oscar Grant was going to be murdered by BART cop Johannes Mehserle I would hope that they would rush them and help. But that is very unlikely today. Johannes Mehserle is on PAID leave. He just had a baby two days before he murdered Oscar. How would he feel if one of his conrads did this to his. Damn, this world is going absolutely insane! (State another obvious fact, Wolf, right?!) I used to ride BART at least almost every weekend after I graduated from high school in San Francisco because my mother and sisters moved to the East Bay, and I used to go over there to visit them. Back in those days, the mid seventies, and probably right up until 2001, you rarely ever heard of any serious problems on BART or in their stations. When I rode, I can’t remember ever encountering anything even remotely dangerous, unless I wasn’t aware of it. Now, I wouldn’t live in the Bay Area and/or ride BART if my life depended on it, because my life might depend on not doing so. This cop obviously thought he could get away with cold-blooded murder, since that is what they’re teaching these guys by most them getting acquitted of murder by juries.
As I’ve been stating for a long time, the “restraining power of the Holy Spirit” that kept some semblance of sanity prevailing up until 2001, is being removed, most people are being taken over by evil, and more and more people are going absolutely crazy. Reasoning is becoming more and more extinct, as people no longer have the sense of conscience that they used to have, at least on a wider scale; and now “upstanding citizens” are becoming vigilanties and stone-cold murderous criminals on a greater and greater scale as well.
And, as I’ve also been long-saying, we ain’t seen nothing yet. I personally believe, though, that we’re entering a “false period of prosperity” where it’s going to seem like things get better, or at least appear not to get any worse, for awhile; and then, after that very short apparent-respite, all hell on earth is going to break loose. So, if you think all hell is already breaking loose, get ready, because what’s going on right now, or has been for the past seven and a half years, is going to seem like “kindergarten” in comparison to what’s coming very soon.
This is why we need God, in addition to the fact that He’s had “claim” on us from the beginning, since he created us in the first place. Without being restored to Him we are screwed. Yes, we will probably be murdered for getting Truly right with Him, but at least we won’t lose our souls for all eternity like everyone else will. So, if you don’t want to be on the wrong side of the True fence when the crapolla hits the fan, no matter how much you falsely think you’re on the right side of the fence already, get Truly, Fully and Completely TRANSFORMED by God NOW. Otherwise, you obviously don’t really care about the True well-being and future of your soul(s), and you will find yourself crying for God’s mercy when it’s too late, if you even get that “chance”. For you may (likely?) be “taken out” before much more time even transpires; and then you will have no more chances at True Salvation.
Please get Truly, Fully and Completely right with God before it’s very soon too late.

One can see in every video that these officers are trained to brutalize you as quickly as possible.
In Dayton Ohio they tazed a diabetic, blind, black woman on a cane when they walked right into her house looking for her son and then justified it on TV as the officers safety being threatened by her I guess because her son was not there. People need to know this because it could be you next if you are confused and don’t follow orders.

There was no “execution’… or “tarined cops gnashing their teeh with blood dripping from their fangs” or anything of the sort…
The result is what usually happens when you get a bunch of people togetehr who act up and draw other people around them who are as ignorant as they are.
What happens after this will be determined by the Justice system… as corrupt or not corrupt as it may be… That should have been considered by the thug and the cop before hand. If the thug was acting like a n adult this probably would have never happened. Now it has..and there is nothing that can be done to reverse it.

I guess I am living wrong.
I act decent and show courtesy around pther people in public and expect the same. I have had no less than 10 confrontations with the police in my life and have yet to be tazered, beaten up, abused or shot. I simple stand my ground and look them in the eye and make my case. Most of the time they leave me alone. A couple of speeding tickets..But I WAS SPEEDING.. I have been let go for speeding without tickets far more than I received tickets… I guess they weren’t feeling mean that day and didn’t want to abuse me in any way…
I have never got in a fight in public unless it was a matter of fself defense.. once in Hawaii a joker acted like he wanted to stab me and a couple of friends.. But the cops came out of nowhere and gave the guy with the knife a little adjustment to the head on their car hood.. as it should be.. They didn’t tazer him..But he had a knife.. I nor my friends did. You people have a one track mind. There are millions of cops out there doing a good job of serving the public… as there are millions of good citizens out that acting responsibly and not causing or getting in fights in public places.
This incident was where two of a kind got together and one lost his life.
AGAIN… This who situation could be avoided in less than a few seconds it took to get into a fight with the THIGS…and YES they are FERAL THUGS…..

I carry one and have been confronted by cops wearing it. They get nervous..But that is their problem.. I legally do so and I always move my hands slowly and announce what I am doing. I know how they are. Many cops don’t think citizens should own a firearm. I have however have met a few who were as casual about it and support the leagl right to carry. You just have to excersize caution until you know who and what you are dealing with.
I know this.. Most cops cannot figure out whatthey are doing in a crisi due to the excitement.. so I calmly tell them what I am doing so neither of us get hurt.

People who have a criminal history, can’t pass a drug test, can’t meet the basic educational requirements , can’t speak legible English, can’t write inteligle sentences, can’t maintain a driver’s license due to numerous DUIs or failure to keep insurance on their vehicles and have suspended licenses, have domestic violence arrests, or show a history of inability to mainatin a stable and semi-responsible lifestyle simply CANNOT be law enforcement officers.
That immediately ncuts iouut roughly 60% of the polulation between the ages of 18-25..and I am being conservative.
Out of the reaminaing 40% of peopel between ages 18-25 some get quality jobs if they can pass a piss test. Some join the military… and some become thugs and can’t get it together enough to move out or come off their parenst support because they are deadbeats and have never had responsibility.
Somewhere out of the semi-decent 40% you get the LEO recruits. Mnay are well composed.. some have encountered bad situations while on duty.. and many are just not cut out for the job.. But are hired anyway.
Sorry Bud.. But that is the real world.. Like it or not. The best way to avoid run ins with the law is conduct yourself RESPONSIBLY around others and treat them with the same courtesy you expect to be treated with. Beleive it or not.. This is not a new concept.
One man who didn’t understand this concept is now dead… Tragic as that may be.. It was not an “execution”… or a “cold blooded murder”… It was a mishap/accident that could easily have been avoided. As anyone who has dealt with law enforcement, inclusive of Airport Security, they have in recent years swelled their ranks with some real scum; people who have no real character or integrity and whom are basically cowards who over react and have no aversion to abusing anyone, including, women, children and the old.
While I realize they have reason to be afraid because contrary to the smiling faces we are forced to put forth when dealing with them, they know we hate them and if it were not for their numbers and weapons, most of us would not put up with their crap. I have made special efforts to make sure my life insurance pays if I am shot or beaten to death because I am well aware that the situation may arrive where I am not going to roll over for these scum sucking bastards ( I write this knowing you fuckers are also reading this) but know this, not all of us are defenseless women, children and dweeb city boys.

The fact that this cop’s fellows did nothing to stop him when he calmly drew his firearm and executed his victim – means that they are all corrupt. The problem is that if there is one corrupt officer – who is left unchallenged in his corruption – they are all guilty.
So, you never know when you’re going to run into a corrupt cop. The uniform and badge mean nothing these days. He could be a good guy, he might be your executioner. So, the natural (conservative) reaction is to treat ALL OF THEM as corrupt, thus pitting the citizenry against ALL police, bad and also good. To try to “communicate rationally” with the former kind – is to risk one’s very life. You cannot reason with a mad dog because he is beyond reason.
This is no accident, people! This failure to self-police their own ranks is intentional. The elites want for us to be pitted against ALL police so that the police can be used against us all, criminal or innocent. They just want us dead and they’ll allow corruption to thrive within police ranks in order to terrorize us. Stalin would be proud of this tactic, would he not? Or – did he INVENT IT?

A $25,000,000 wrongful death suit, civil rights violations and criminal charges filed against the BART officer won’t bring Oscar back. But, if suceessful it will bring the guilty to justice and may help to ease some of the pain of family and friends. I also hope this will help to educate our police whi I feel are basically completely out of control. Prosecutions of police should be widely covered in the media to let them know they can’t play God.

Has anyone done an extensive background check on the BART cop who did the shooting? What aspect of these “BART” cops’ training might cause one of them to think it acceptable to execute people? Will this shooting be ruled a “justifable homicide”? I’m sure it will be. Well, at least this “killer cop” didn’t torture his victim to death with a taser weapon. Yipes this is one scary video. But for the grace of God go any one of us. Where I live, we have Wackenhut officers for our public transit and they’re ex-military and some are pretty intimidating.
It’s hard to see the total situation, but the man shot to death should have been smart enough to see that he was out-numbered and been fully co-operative and offered no resistance. If so, he’d be alive today.
If this trend continues, and I know it will, we will see riots in US cities like the 1960s within a year or two, if not sooner.
I am so saddened for the America I love.

I stand up when necessary to draw attention to the many people who show no courtesy to their fellow human by pointing that out to them. I help old people ..or at least offer unless they refuse the offer..

I clearly expressed Mark’s request that I explain that we are demanding an independent investigation. I explained that the killers wrote a written motive that the Columbine tragedy was revenge for a bad arrest. I explained that there is a picture the killer drew while under arrest that is being interpreted as a Cop sexually molesting a kid.
Clinton’s reaction was of concern. He promised the families of the dead and injured that he would help. He didn’t obviously. This was video’d I have a posed still picture,his card and witnesses and the phone records of our attempts to contact him.
No surprise, Janet Reno was at Columbine orchestrating this investigation early on.
The Columbine tragedy obviously didn’t compare to the carnage of 911 but this tragedy is just as painful to the smaller group of victims. The biggest pain they suffer now is that pain of betrayal by a government that would lie and Cover up.

As a former cop of 7 years, with about 3 of those being taser certified, my first impression of the video is that it was an accident.
Assuming that BART stand for something ending in “…Rail Transit” these are cops who commonly are not drawing their guns.
I seriously doubt he thought he was drawing a taser. They are alway located somewhere else on your duty belt and they don’t feel ANYTHING alike!
My guess is that he was drawing his gun (BAD JUDGEMENT CALL) and once he had the gun out he accidentally pulled the trigger. Glocks are my favorite police pistol because they don’t just “Go OFF” by accident. People under stress will tighten their grip on their gun. My bet is that he was carrying a Beretta style pistol that had the hammer cocked back, giving it a very light trigger.
Look at the body language of the shooter, especially when he puts his hands to his face immediately after the shooting. He is saying, OH NO, I Can’t believe I just did that!
I don’t know what these street urchins were doing to attract the attention of the police, but I have seen a fair share of loud-mouthed, profane, worthless gangster types who could save alot of time and aggravation by just being quiet and being polite for a minute or two.
With all that being said, I despise the coming NWO/Fema Style Gestapo that our government has in store for us. But I don’t think it will look anything like this when it comes.

This is just the one caught on video and they put this cop on PAID..Administrative leave? I seriously doubt this cop will get in much trouble, he will probably get promoted to police chief or CA attorny general for the total ruthless murder of a slave. I am sure this video will be incorporated into police accademy training on how to deal with slaves once they are totally defenseless.

OMG!!! This type of stuff will inevitably lead to social unrest as it happens more frequently. Life is cheap to these Oakland cops. The worse part about all of this is the fact that cops keep getting caught making up stories to cover their ass, and no one ever seems to be held accountable in the end. I’m sure that Grant’s friends and family have a SERIOUS case of the red ass right now over this tragedy. The Oakland community and the rest of the world is also watching, but that won’t stop the boldfaced lies and an almost certain injustice in the end (based on how these maters have been dealt with in the past).

Time is getting shorter to when we have to start living in a balanced manner and start treating each other well. The whole story is a tale of imbalance and non-caring for our fellow man. The kid was fighting with other kids the cops were battling and killing indiscriminately. Everyone here is in the wrong. Sticking up for the cops is as wrong as believing the kid was Innocent and within his rights. There should be no riots. Thats what they want so they can do more killing. There should be some dialog though and it should involve to a greater degree the whole direction of our society.
We must start making use of existing laws as they deal with real hardcore crimes like rape and murder like we seen here caught on video. We should also free up law enforcement to go after real crimes , as I have stated, and make new laws to regulate things that make criminals on both sides of the fence fat and rich. Not easy to do as there are agendas’.

This kind of execution goes on all of the time, this one just happened to get caught on tape. Clearly from the video this was an “execution.” Maybe if the kid lunged for a cops gun, maybe, they could justify it, but not under these circumstances. The cops are probably just hoping that people riot over this so they can then do more of it.

To 338 Outrage– FINALLY someone made a logical argument.
The politicians make the laws ..but violate them and say they were ignorant.
Lawyers hire OTHER lawyers to defend them. Why are they lawyers if they don’t know and trust themselves and their knowledge of the law.
The police should be REQUIRED to know enough about laws at the basic level to properly enforce them.
LEOs should be trained and proven competent enough to handle MOST situations a normal cop woould encounter and be HELD to a HIGHER standard than the avarege Joe as far as law knowledge and people skills in a crisis situation.
Judges should NOT have immunity for their decisions if later it is discovered they were corrupt or incorrect in their decisions. They are trusted to uphold the HIGHEST standards of the law.
Our problem in the US is everyone in an official position has exempted themselves from accountability…. while everyone in society has displaced the responsibility and blame for their actions.

As for some of the things said, I think that Casual Observer doesn’t deserve the name calling… IF you don’t agree with his/her position, then that’s fine…. There is no need to stoop to a level of a children’s playground and resort to name calling… One just needs to accept the fact that C.O.’s opinion is just as reasonable as is yours… Everyone is entitled to their own opinions be they in the majority, but most of all be they the minority opinion….
And as for the individual(s) who posted the supposed name and address of the cop and made threats… That is totally uncalled for… No matter how mad you are, there is no excuse for that type of action… A call for payback for this by any means is wrong… It makes you no better than the cop who did this…

If you see the video you can see that the police have their weapons drawn. According to protocol you can not brandish or use the sight of a weapon to deter someone. If they draw it, they have to use it or face serious disciplinary action.
In the video you can see one policeman with an automatic weapon. Another has her pistol drawn. Finally, the senior officers come over and deliberately with forethought shoot the suspect with full intent to kill him, which is the only way lethal force can be used.
From the reaction of the police personnel they do not seemed at all surprised by the shooting. They react as if this is all in a day´s work.
Question: What is the protocol for drawn weapons? When is lethal force allowed to be used? What was the rank of the policeman who pulled the trigger?

I read an article about how he and his family are receiving death threats and they are moving him all around. When I first viewed the video I to thought the cop shot this young man intentionally but after watching it over and over it looks more like it was an accident, he drew his weapon to hold it over the man so they could lift him up after he was handcuffed and he must have put his hand on the trigger and the gun went off, afterwords the cop is in total shock, you can tell by the way he put his hands over his face, this is a time to call for calm and not jump to conclusions over this. theres a video on you tube where a female cop does the same thing and almost shot a fellow officer, it looks like it was unintentional, but the cop should have never pulled a gun unless there was not a threat thats for sure, it was more than likely an accident

I love that phrase “the gun went off” …. the gun “WENT OFF”. It went off because he PULLED THE TRIGGER! you don’t pull out a gun and it just starts going off all by itself. Guns do not just GO OFF, unless the trigger is pulled, or possibly when they are dropped. If this cop could not handle the simple responsibility of carrying and operating a firearm safely he had no buisness being a police officer. There was absolutely no excuse for this cop to have drawn his weapon in the first place. Accidental discharge or not, this cop needs to be held accountable for the wrongful death of this man. Not this lets hide him from the public til we can cover it up or it blows over BULLSHIT. This, we look out for our own no matter what gangster mentality among law enforcement agencies needs to stop. July 10th 2008 two cars raced down my 1/4 mile driveway past my four Keep Out signs. I grabbed my 12Ga and placed myself in my driveway in front of them. Turned out to be the County Sheriff and Social Service Workers. I asked if they had a warrant. They said No. I told them they were trespassing and to leave. I had to tell them three times before they left. I never pointed my gun at them, I never verbally threatened them.
I was arrested the next day. One charge of 1st degree felony assault on a police officer and two counts of felony menacing.
6 months and $20K later I was able to plead not guilty. Trial is coming in April. I do not expect to win. Guilty because “they said so”.
It is too late folks. People will not band together. People will not fight the machine of tyranny. I know I am not alone… yet, I am completely alone. At 47 my life is over. I have done the best I could for my wife and kids… I protected them when the situation demanded my action. There is no help.
The Sheriff searched our property… found nothing. Harassed and threatened my wife and children while I was in lockup. You really can’t protect your family or yourself. (Doesn’t imply you should not try). They did not shoot me but they did kill me.
My situation is likely duplicated thousands of times around this country at this very moment. Like I said, there is no help, we are all isolated. We will never come together and right the wrongs… fight the devil and win our salvation.
What happened to Grant was absolutely a crime. The Kops that did not immediately arrested this murder are criminals. The Kops that attempted to cover this shooting up by confiscating videos committed felony crimes.
I like A.J. I love the information. However, A.J. is wrong – a peaceful solution is not possible (We were all asleep for too long… too many generations of sleepers). Unfortunately, we lack the outrage of the Greeks and hence a revolutionary solution is also not possible.
I suggest acting locally. There are people like me in your community today.. they need your help. Do something! The Police state is here NOW.
For myself, I will keep busy until the trial and the guilty verdict which will mark the last day and the first day with the Great Spirit.

First, the nonsense about waiting for “prosecutors” to determine if they are going to seek and indictment is ludicrous. Anyone living in that state who has viewed that video needs to research in the state code of criminal proceudre to see if they, like Texas, have the statutory right to present evidence to a Grand Jury of any known act which is liable to indictment.
Texas law allows “…any credible person” to inform a grand jury seated for the term of the judicial district in which the murder occurred, to not only present a criminal complaint affidavit (properly notarized and in styled in pursuance of the stae code of criminal procedure which describes the method to style and word the document in order to be “sufficient”.
So must that state have a similar code. Problem is, people are too reliant on the so called “government” which is busy shooting them dead, to “solve” the problem.
I challenge these people in that state to enact a government “…of the people” by exercising their Constitutional (and most probably statutory state) right to bring the complaint DIRECTLY to a Grand Jury, and present the video to the Grand Jurors. If their law is similar to the one in Texas which DIRECTS that a Grand Jury MUST consider the evidence brought before them by ANY credible person, then I am certain (if the D.A. of that county doesn’t get in the jury deliberation room and LIE to the Grand Jurors and tell them they can’t indict because the D.A. “declines” to prosecute) that ANY Grand Juror would vote to indict, if they saw what I saw in that video. It was a base murder. The cop needs to be tried for it, in pursuance of law. PERIOD.
Now you clowns in that state. Go do something about it. ENFORCE THE DAMNED LAW. After all, it belongs to YOU!

If this situation is really as simple as claimed then this police officer needs to be held accountable.
On the other hand, I’m concerned about the double-standard of the many people in Oakland who are protesting this crime, trashing public and private property, and disrespecting the police.
The fact is, Oakland is an extremely violent town. But when all the gang-bangers are out killing innocent people–where is the outrage? Where are the protestors? Another question: if a white guy was killed by BART police would we still see all those black people out in the streets?
As a resident of CA. I know all too well the double-standards in this state when it comes to racism and violence. When blacks and Mexicans are out shooting in the streets and killing innocent bystanders, no one complains or gets angry. It only becomes an issue when either white people or the police are accused of in engaging in such activites.
Yes, the USA is turning into a police state. But there are a lot of people out there who are making “freedom” unworkable because they deliberately choose to lead violent lifes-styles. A number of those very people were riding BART on new years day. Those people chose to turn a public transit train into a war zone. They chose to create a situation where the BART police had to get involved–in city that has one of the highest crime/murder-rates in the nation.
I have no doubt that there is a much bigger problem here than just the BART police. This is not like some cop just walked up to some peaceful hippies in the park and pulled the trigger. It’s not like some innocent African American youth was on his way home to his Mom with a quart of milk when some white cop blew his brains out.
What we have in Oakland is a community problem. The culture of Oakland is sick and twisted. I pity the police for the BS and disrespect that these people have to tolerate on a daily basis. Their lives are endangered too. Cops get murdered too. But again, most people don’t care: because its not PC.

They handcuffed him after they shot him in the back? How about trying to help Oscar breath or stop his bleeding. Do these mindless police have any honor or decency left? They’re just attack dogs. They are being trained more and more to see us rabble as non-human prey. I wonder of this sorry excuse for a man who executed poor Oscar in cold blood has any remorse for leaving a four year old daughter fatherless, and the pain he has inflicted on so many friends and family. For what? Because Oscar got into a scuffle on a subway?
I guess lying prone, pleading for your life while two large armed men grind their knees into your neck and back constitutes a capital offense now. That officer should never have been allowed to handle a soup spoon, let alone a gun.

The cops are worse than dealing with mafia thugs!
They are protected from litigation, job loss, etc,…
What is really sickening is the fact that depending on the California media outlet you listen to you hear one of two stories regarding the officer whom shot this kid in cold blooded murder.
1) The officer is on PAID adminsitrative leave.
2) The officer involved tendered his resignation.
Which is it?
Confusion is king in these times, the Military Industrial Complex Media and all levels of Government know this too well!

There are now 503 comments to this article. This great number expresses the great concern over random, unpunished murder by police. Everyone understands he or she could be killed on a whim like that. And not only in the US, but almost anywhere in the world. I think I would be safer in a jungle fending off snakes and leopards with my own gun. No cop would interfere there. Not with impunity, in any case.

This is the face of modern day terrorism. A rogue, out of control police-force intent on spreading public fear through their Gestapo-like tactics. The police officer in question might be brought to trial, might even be sentenced to a jail term, but he has already unwittingly served his purpose as a pawn in the game. He has pleased his masters who in return will discard him to the fires. He has promulgated the mass PSYOP (Psychological Operation) and broadened the fear factor that will eventually scare all people into submission. We as a majority of people must not accept this, but we must also resist playing their game. They might want to intentionally trigger this type of scenario to incite civil disobedience and violence in an attempt to justify the use of martial law. It is a dangerous game with the solution geared towards EXPOSING these radicals and their tactics, rather than being swept onto their playing field to which the endgame has already been determined, for they control the rules.

The other day I was talking to an old Nam vet about where this country was headed. He said that in ten years we would be like a third world nation that would make “Mad Maxx” look civilized. I told him I admired his optimism!
The media is keeping the masses in the dark. Everything they report has an ulterior motive or is a half truth. It will be hard to win the infowar against such odds.

The police are way out of control that much is obvious!The police need to be held accountable as any other murderer would that does’nt wear a badge.Fact is one of the other cops standing around should have stopped him and they should be in just as much trouble,Lets call them accomlises.Accountability!!!!That will not happen until our countries and worlds so called leaders are held accountable for their actions. Our laws have citizens in jail for petty victumless crimes.Yet the police can use any excuse for killing somebody and easily get away with it by lossing their crumby job or claiming the individuals must of had prior medical problems.From that point the ball get’s dropped….Ludicris!Until we stand up together this will continue to plague our society as a whole.Who’s child, parent or sibling has to die before the reins are pulled on this band of wild merauders?

I for one can’t wait for martial law. Im sick to death of these games. People still fail to see we outnumber them greatly. The blood of the police and military robots will run in the streets and they will know we will not submit. Without their enforcers, the NWO bureaucrats will flee the country in fear, leaving it in the hands of the american people where it belongs.

what is everyone talking about, i live in Arizona and have heard nothing about it, and for that matter who were the partcipants? What was the victim doing that caused an officer to draw on him and I am not saying he had to be doing anything, just curious. I hate the police and I wish i knew what to do. This shit is getting biblical this whole nwo thing is jumping off the pages. What do we do and why aren’t we the people who know starting to march on our capitals in every city. I don’t want to wait for Martial law–I don’t want it to get that bad I want them backtracting across the pond mid stream.

Your local police are armed and dangerous.
Police are supposed to protect the people, but they don’t look like they are protect people when they are intimidating people and oppressing them into submission. If you don’t fall in line they will beat you and in plenty of cases kill you. Just for expressing your rights as an American. Not to mention the divide created when they keep and attempt to prevent the public from knowing all the facts in cases. Conspiracies exist because they don’t tell people the info, so we are left to speculate. If we are not allowed to talk about cases and situations, how are we supposed to learn and prevent the situations from reoccurring? Just fall in line and mind my own business, eh.
Linton Johnson, a BART spokesperson, said, “It does a disservice to the integrity of the investigation because people form opinions, and then they can’t give independent recollections of what they actually saw because they are tainted by the videos,” Johnson said. “It’s unfair to (Grant’s) family, it’s unfair to the police officer, and it’s unfair to the public. But that’s the world in which we live, and you have to adjust.”
He was commenting about the videos showing up on the internet. That then raises the question of, what would have happened if the videos didn’t show up? It makes covering up a news fiasco a lot harder. And another question, how is it unfair to the public and family and police for the people to know what really happened at the station? And, in particular, when the info has not been filtered or allowed to be shown.
I say, “Thank you for the internet and all it’s revealing glory.”

Guys, calling for riots or violence is not the right thing to do. The cop is being charged with murder; let the courts handle this…violence will get you nowhere. Not all cops are bad
