When it comes to degrading and destroying Islamic State terrorists, the White House indicated that President Obama is learning as he goes along; and his spokesman says the president’s strategy is an “overall success.”
“Would you say that overall the strategy has been a success?” ABC’s Jon Karl asked spokesman Josh Earnest on Tuesday.
“Well, Jon, yeah, I mean, overall yes. It doesn’t mean that there haven’t been areas of setback, as we saw in Ramadi,” Earnest replied. (Tens of thousands of displaced people are now fleeing Ramadi since it was conquered by the Islamic State group on Friday.)
Karl followed up: “I mean, is exporting terror to Libya, taking over the capital of Iraq’s largest province, this is overall a success?”
