In an address at the Center for American Progress, a liberal policy group in Washington, Ms. Napolitano sought to dispel any notion that the administration — with health care, energy and other major issues crowding its agenda — might postpone the most contentious piece of an immigration overhaul until after midterm elections next November.
Laying out the administration’s bottom line, she said it will argue for a “three-legged stool” that includes enacting tougher enforcement laws against illegal immigrants and the people who hire them, and streamlining the system for legal immigration, but also what she called a “tough and fair pathway to earned legal status.”

Its about GODDAMN TIME that they will legalize them!! This is a good thing for everyone! Now we as citizens will not have to pay for their public services and they will begin paying taxes like everyone else. Also companies who hire illegals will be forced to pay everyone equally, thus opening job opportunities for everyone.
The only thing left to do now is to step up the border security and pressure the Mexican Govt. to start taking care of their own citizens.

Yes, companies will pay everyone equally. The illegal immigration has pushed wages lower, however just because the illegal immigrants are made legal citizens, does not mean they will be paid higher wages. Companies will continue to pay EVERYONE the low suppressed wages.

Looking at the wages of the year 1970 @1.80 for the minimum wage and gold @36 one can quickly see it taook about 18 hours at a job like Mc Donalds to by an oz well to day thanks to the failed Kainsyian policy we see its 7 Dollars /hr of work and 1120 dollars /oz it takes over 145 hours at minimum wage to buy the same amount of goods or gold. Mexican Imigration has been filling up our country with illegals since our founding. Blame the rightful crooks. Our government first for allowing illegal action done by all who people who know nothing of our constitution or values. Its the people who know better who are to be tried as traitors of ememys both foriegn and domestic.

Reform? Another euphemism by the political/business cabal who controls Obama. There are a lot more than 12 million here, and they are taking jobs that Americans want and need now. Obama’s first act was to give waivers to his own executive order to put pro-illegal, La Raza lobbyists and supporters in high positions in has administration to push for what they had been lobbying for all along. ICE refuses to inspect the large, politically connected businesses hiring illegals in north carolina – same businesses tuning away US citizens for those jobs.
So this so-called “reform” should go over real big in a nation with unemployment around 20% – about the same number of illegals who are here at any given time.

Because afterall, our grandparents and great parents all came over from other countries as well. The difference is, the immigrants crossing the border today put a strain on the social welfare system and cost us more money than they put into the system. I say, go ahead and leave the border wide open…….but put an end to the welfare and food stamp system, and don’t allow anyone to use a hospital ER as a primary care physician. Also, make them pay taxes as well!!! So if someone wants to cross the border and come to the US to work and pay taxes and not use and abuse the welfare and healthcare system and not commit crimes to land them in prison, then I say “have at it!”. Has nothing to do with racism. That’s how it was when our great grandparents came to America. They worked and payed taxes and didn’t get any free handouts. And they also learned English as well.

If someone doesn’t have a chip on his shoulder, his immigration status means nothing to me. I don’t care about his culture, language, or mode of dress, either.
FWIW, for every position, which doesn’t pay a living wage, there is some person, of some race, living off of other people. They probably receive entitlements of some kind, or they are eligible.

Funny that a small amount of americans claim that mexicans are the immigarnts, when in fact California, Texas, Arizona and New Mexico used to be all part of Mexico. Also except for the native americans, all of america came from immigrant families. The USA was built by immigrants such as chinese, italians, irish, germans, french, dutch, africans.
Let the immigrants work, after all most of your ancestors did.

.but most of them came into the U.S. the right way. can you say that about the mexicans.
i live in new mexico so don’t tell me what i see every day.
let them come in the right way.
i have no problem with that. and i feel sorry for most of the people from mexico and the way they have had to live.
i inderstand how they feel. but do it the right way.
