Will Obama “Change” The Bush Police State Or Expand It?

Now that Barack Obama has become the 44th President of the United States we offer a challenge – will those who elected him be able to progress past their fawning idolatry and actually pressure Obama to deliver on his mandate of “change,” or will the architecture of the Bush police state remain in place while the American empire expands?
Obama’s acceptance speech assertion that “change has come to America” is likely to signal the beginning and end of the “change” that millions of Americans naively thought they were voting for.
That’s it folks, the puppet has been rotated. Sorry to be so cynical, but the “change” you thought you were electing is already over and done with. The color of his skin matters about as much as whether he has an R or a D next to his name. The egregious spending will continue, government will balloon in size, American soldiers will be used as cannon fodder for more interventionist wars of the military-industrial complex, U.S. citizens will continue to have their phone calls tapped and their rights curtailed, and the Federal Reserve will continue to rule the financial system with an iron fist while the middle class is squeezed out of existence.
How can Obama claim that “change has come to America” when he hasn’t even set foot in the White House? What specifically has Obama promised to change beside his plan to redecorate the White House?
It seems that a lot of the truthers and activists, as well as the liberal left, seem to have forgotten that the responsibility to “change” America rests with the American people. As Gandhi said, we have to be the change we want to see in the world.
Obama is no messiah, he is a representative, a public servant, for those that elected him into office. Will those that voted for him in the name of changing eight years of Bush administration malfeasance hold his feet to the fire and demand the repeal of the American police state that Bush has crafted, or will they simply go back to sleep and consider their work done simply because another Democrat is in office?
The majority of liberals gleefully supported or simply ignored the bombing of Serbia and the genocidal sanctions against Iraq because of the cult of personality built up around Bill Clinton. Will Obama be another ideologue for the left to associate their power with or will they actually demand that he restore America to the Constitution? Will the left ninny and obsess about non-issues like gay marriage and welfare programs while allowing the Bush police state to remain in place?
Remember, the Democrats were handed the Congress and the Senate in 2006 with a mandate for change. What has changed since that time? Nothing whatsoever. American troops are still in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Patriot Act is still in place, phone calls are still being tapped and war criminals who committed impeachable offences still go free.
But in an attempt to avoid being labeled “right-wing racists” and all manner of spurious labels now being carelessly heaped upon anyone who doesn’t follow the herd and bow down at the feet of Lord Obama, we’re going to remain constructive and set Obama, and by extension those that voted for him, some challenges to bring real “change” to America and restore the country to the Constitution and the ideals of the Founders that Obama mentioned in his speech last night.
Let’s be generous and give Obama the whole four years of his initial term to make significant progress on the following issues. Here are some questions about “change” that we are going to be keeping track of until 2012.
- Will Obama repeal Patriot Acts I and II as well as reversing Bush’s signing statement and acknowledging the repeal of the John Warner Defense Authorization Act?
- Will Obama support Dennis Kucinich’s efforts to bring war crimes charges against Bush, Cheney and others for deceiving the country into a war or will he protect them against such charges like Nancy Pelosi has done?
- Will Obama bring war crimes charges against Bush, Cheney and others for authorizing torture and will the torture of suspects under U.S. detention, a complete violation of both the Constitution and the Geneva Conventions, cease under an Obama administration?
- Will Obama withdraw American troops from Iraq and Afghanistan without sending them away again to bomb another broken-backed third world country in the name of a UN-supported “humanitarian” war?
- Will Obama end the warrantless secret surveillance and phone-taps of American citizens?
- Will Obama follow through on his rhetorical support for the second amendment or will he seek to ban guns as he did in Illinois?
- Will Obama cease his support for the Bush-administration backed banker bailouts, hated by the majority of Americans, and target the real cause of the problem – the Federal Reserve – or will he continue to give taxpayers’ money to banks who are merely hoarding it all for themselves?
- Will Obama seek to continue the militarization of America and preparations for martial law through Northcom and the secret government or will he dismantle the police state that has been constructed over the last eight years by the Bush administration?
There can be no excuses – either Obama will be proven to be a liar or he will, backed by Democratic control of Congress and the Senate, follow through on his mandate for “change”.

People like Congressman Ron Paul are too long in the tooth and have watched too many political campaigns to glibly jump on the bandwagon of political platitudes.
Those caught up in Obama fever who would have otherwise voted for Ron Paul should heed the warnings of Dr. No.
As the coming of the new messiah drew closer, Paul had some sobering reminders for a CNN audience last night, pointing out that Obama will not cut spending, government will get bigger and more intrusive, foreign policy will remain the same and unpopular financial bailouts will continue.
We hope we are wrong, but forgive us for our cynicism, because whatever has emerged from the two-party monopoly in the past has always proven to be the problem – not the solution.

Though we are primed and ready for change, none will come. As stated in the article, its just a new puppet, and the actual people with power (the American people) will do nothing.
One thing that disheartened me was the various interviews of Obama supporters in my area, when they were asked what are some of the first things he should address once in office, the responses were all about handouts….tax cut, free tuition money, and more social services. The only way Americans can take this country back is to end this dependancy on the government. I’m just as cynical as Watson though, and the future seems very bleek and uncertain.

Dylan, I’ve actually considered challenging the legality of this within my business as well as the classification of minority business enterprise favorability in RFPs & RFQs for working with Federal, State, & Local government agencies when they put out request for proposals for available projects. Would it not be wonderful if we were all wrong. It would be such a glorious day to be wrong. That maybe someone can make a change. Hope is not gone. I still hope for the best and wish to be proven terribly wrong. It would be an error that I can live with.
I try not to be so cynical but it seems that the other shoe is still waiting to drop. In nature all things strive to acheive balance. We as humans, Americans, and individuals strive for the same.
It has to be an active struggle and not passive. To be passive means that you simply watch as things happen. However active struggle means you make things happen.
It is still our country. We have not been stripped of it. But who has a real solution? If we conspire to meet and march it would be meet with the threat of police force. Then we are the “T” word. If we want results it can only come to fruition by letting the elite know that we are many and we will not go quietly into the night. I know I love my country and the people who beleive in what it means. I feel sorry for the ones that are not smart enough to see the facade. And I despise the few who are trying vehemently to destroy it.
I still have hope. But as my grandmother who has seen World Wars and the Great Depression says, “Hope for the best prepare for the worst because hope is the backup plan.”

Well, Biden said that something major is going to happen that is going to test the US. It’s probably going to be something that is going to spark a war. The plans are in place folks. Obama is going to make sure everyone joins the army with a draft. Men and women. Personally, I think only the people that voted for Obama should be drafted but it’s not going to happen that way…everyone that is fit for military service will by law be obligated to go fight a phoney baloney war. Obama will seal the deal. If the US was hated during Bush’s neocon regime, it will de irreperable damage to its reputation under Obama’s fascist Nazi regime.

Thankfully, everything is about to get much much worse. Why? Practically all people I meet are vain and egotistical morons who are only living to get three things: high (on whatever they prefer), paid and laid. 99.99% of all people I’ve ever met (in 40 years) are just air displacers. Where they are, air is not. What exactly are we trying to save by stopping the New World Order? Drudgery? Inertia? Lethargy? My prediction is that this segment of population will switch, alex jones will return to being a right guy. Which is ok but he will be hard to distinguish from rush limbaugh and will loose alot of the youth. I’m a young african American man and a liberal and let me be honest. You cannot downplay the racial significance of this. Tears flowed in almost every african american home i know. its a huge deal. But understand 2 things we are not stupid. While we rejoice in breaking of the biggest barrier in america, we now there is no magic pill. We have a ton of work to do and wise amongst us do not expect goverment to do it. secondly, as a liberal we will rejoice until january 22 then we will hold his feet to the fire. Beautiful speeches, well written and executed by a colorful and charismatic man now president elect of the united states of America. there is no question whatsoever many people feel a great sense of hope for unity and change by the election of Barack Obama. In the words of Barack himself, the time has now come for YOU Americans to be volunteers and progressive activists in Americas future. the time is now for YOU to do something as America faces very severe problems in economy,war,global warming and more.
My opinion, in my 19 straight months on the net amongst all the Americans as i try desperately to uncover my science experiments to end global warming-war for oil- alleviate costs for energy- I have found no Hope and assistance from fellow Americans. Since it is very dangerous and only several universities even have the proper equipment, i have narrowed it down to Princeton university to provoke.

I agree with you 100% Alex. I have the biggest feeling of dread. A pit in my stomach. I couldnt sleep last night after the election. I didnt want McCain either, but i do believe that now things are going to escalate so much faster and everyone i speak to about it i know they feel it, but they do not want to except the fact that we are in big big trouble. Last night when Obama made his exception speach it was like watching Adolf Hitler when he used to speak to his people. Everyone was so thrilled with their new furor not knowing that he was a murderer with the thought of control of the whole world and the agenda of genocide. There is a significant percentage of the population that do no like Obama, simply for racial reasons. However, do not dare think for a second, that everyone who disagrees with Obama is a racist. I was initally caught up in the Obama Hope BS. But upon a more in depth look at his policies and possible lack of National Born Citizenship I felt a huge sense of disgust for the man.
Either way we have to keep a closer eye on Obama than we ever did with Bush. That is because much of the damage is already done, and were closer to the cliff than ever before. And remember that often Bush didn’t disguise that he was a wolf, Obama as any other politician is a wolf also, only dressed in sheep’s clothing.

I noticed on CNN the percentage of Obama voters and their ages. The majority of voters for Obama were 18-29 years old. This explains a lot. The young people are not old enough to remember how we have been screwed by both parties for the last century. All they remember is Bush for the last 8 years and they think its only the republicans that are destroying this country. Bush 1 made Clinton possible who made Bush 2 possible that has made Obama possible. Why would Clinton hand everything over to the UN and then pass the crown over to Bush 2? Why would Bush 2 set up a dictatorship with all the new executive powers and hand it over to Obama? I have been, we have been saying for years that both parties are bought and controlled by the same NWO elite. Obama cares nothing about the 3rd party voters, he said nothing in his speech to include us. My guess by his lack of inclusion tells me that he will do everything to snuff us out, or find a way to filter our blogs, or concerns. He will do what they did at his convention, jail reporters who report the concerns of the other “WE THE PEOPLE”. As a reminder Mr. Obama, we are also part of America, you can choose to exclude us, but we will continue to raise our voice, because this is America, and it is our right. You can try to hush us, jail us, pass laws that will not allow us to speak, but in the end, we will not stop. You can put us on your watch lists, make our life a living hell, but we are still “WE THE PEOPLE” and we still have the right to be heard. I got in an argument with my whole Science class today about Obama…Almost EVERYONE voted for Obama. I said I voted Barr because Obama is a Corporate Fascist. Then pointed out his gun bans…I was told “They are unreasonable guns though” I responded “ANY Gun ban is wrong but we need gun laws”. I was told to deal with it! I was so pissed I nearly flipped out on the guy that said it and said “Imagine George Washington with that attitude!”

Damn it… I love Alex Jones and his documentaries so much… I agree with a good 80% of what he has to say… Although I higly disapprove of his incessant fear-mongering. But as a devout Atheist, I begin to feel detatched from Jones’ message when religion is brought to the table in the discussion of Barak Obama.

If Alex actually did get “chased” from the Republican party, I am glad. As he has become the beacon of hope for myself and many like me. Truth hurts and slams those trying to be complacent in the environment we are in as a country.
Yes the allegations that Mr. Alex Jones makes is quite profound. The facts that he has put together enrages us. However, the truth in the matter makes the governement the culpret of critisizm, not Alex.
I am a masters prepared graduate and have been in my profession for 9 years, married for 20 years and have raised 4 children. I am not a radical relig. follower of any kind. If you think all the conflict that arises in an individual in response to all this information is entertainment, you are mistaken. Alex is responsible for a revolution in consciousness amongst Americans from ALL walks of life. The awakening, for me, has called to my soul for commitment and action which has created conflict within me. I have yet to find the appropriate modality for executing my passions and that brings much turmoil to my psyche. My wife, a masters prepared School teacher, and I are both struggling with the realization that were in a crisis and with what we can do about it.
My wife and I have known something was wrong…We lived our professional lives, raised our kids, and loved eachother dearly. However, we talked often about things in our society, government, and in life in general. When we were blessed by Alex Jones and his exposing documentaries of democracy we sat there, occasionally looking at each other, with jaws dropped and tears in eye.

And my point is would McCain be any better, who was actually under the same powers and the existing powers of our administration? An Obama presidency is scary as would any other presidency be, becuase we have been continually misled and lied to. All we want as americans is to have our rights respected, our borders protected, and have equal and fair opportunities. In 2000 Bush said the US wasnt in the business of nation building, wasnt supposed to police the world, was supposed to be fiscally responsible, and was supposed to limit the size of government and prevent intrusiveness. Neither of them have any policies, thats the problem. All they do is agree on everything important , on the notes from the bankers and corporate swindlers, while pretending to disagree even though they dont.
If it isnt that then its meaningless topics such as abortion or gay marriage, which though important to the people it affects is hardly a topic suitable for election `debates`in the most powerful nation in the world.
Ask yourself how there can be a presidential election without a single meaningful debate about anything relevant. To me and others living outside the US this is more scary than anything and really shows how depraved the american political system has become over the last 20 years.

I was just reading the history of Nazi Germany and I saw a bit about the ’six point syndrome’ of totalitarian states by the political scientists, Carl Friedrich and Zbigniew Brzezinki. The later is now Barrack Obama’s foreign policy adviser.
1. A single mass party, usually led by a charismatic leader.
2. An official Ideology.
3. Total control over the economy.
4. Control over mass communications.
5. A system of terror and police control.
6. Control over the armed forces.
Since Republicans and Democrats politicians are just the same, all we would need is Obama to get control of the economy and create an ideology and we have totalitarianism according to Brzezinki’s definition. Also, there are less steps to Fascism than there is to a free and open society.

i find it very very sad that all the while that Obama was campaigning for “Change”,

Nice Dr. Thompson, couldn’t have said it better myself. Change is just a word, we heard the word the whole campaign. The only change you will have is what is left of your retirement and your savings account. The Fed is pumping our economy full of fake money just like Hitler did to Britain. No one seems to care about our Constitution or the Freedoms our Country was founded on. We have been so caught up in surviving and making a living that everyone doesn’t have the time or energy when their day is done. Where are all the Patriots? Save your money and stop spending on things you don’t need. Don’t waste your time on goverment conspiracy, spend your time preparing to help your family survive and eat. We can’t change politicians minds. They only thing you have to fear are the hungry homeless unemployed, who will be looking for their next meal. Only problem they will want to eat at your house. This will all start with people that are starving and don’t have resources or knowledge to feed theirselves. Drug addicts who have no money for drugs, medicated people who can’t afford their medication, etc. You should prepare to sustain life not try to fight everyone you disagree with. You won’t wake up and have the goverment at your door just yet. It will start with food shortages and lost jobs. Don’t beleive it go out in the public and look for yourselves, you are seeing trends you have never seen before. Next will be revolts against tax increases, when we get to 51% look out that’s when it will get crazy. Leave the metropolitan areas, go to the country. Keep to yourself and family and sustain your way of life. I pray for America and their people, to be strong and smart. Just do it without hate!!!!!!!!!!!!
