Woodward: Bin Laden Capture Could Be October Surprise

Pulitzer prize winning journalist Bob Woodward, who helped uncover the Watergate scandal in 1972, says that the October surprise in the run-up to the presidential election could be the death or capture of Osama bin Laden.
Appearing on CNN’s Larry King Live, Woodward was asked by a caller why the U.S. couldn’t utilize its new “secret killing program,” as Woodward had earlier revealed, to capture Osama bin Laden.
Woodward responded, “We’ll see – maybe they can use it on Bin Laden and all of a sudden the September or October surprise is gonna be the apprehension or the death of Bin Laden.

The rumored death or capture of Bin Laden is a perennial election cycle story, with the same sentiments being expressed in both 2006 and 2004.
However, such an event would obviously take on landmark significance this time around because the apprehension of Bin Laden would virtually guarantee a victory for John McCain and the Republican party.
It would not be the first time that Bin Laden has popped up at the most convenient time to aid the GOP.
Days before the 2004 presidential election, a Bin Laden video tape appeared in which the Al-Qaeda leader chided George W. Bush. Bush went on to beat Kerry and both men attributed the result to the influence of the Bin Laden tape.
“I thought it was going to help,” Bush decided. “I thought it would help remind people that if bin Laden doesn’t want Bush to be the president, something must be right with Bush.”
Former CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite even went public to call the tape a set up orchestrated by Karl Rove.
Rumors that Bin Laden is already dead have circulated for years.
According to French newspaper Le Figaro, Bin Laden was on a kidney dialysis machine after he had one shipped to his base in Kandahar Afghanistan in 2000. Other accounts suggest he was also suffering from Hepatitis C at the time and had only two years left to live.

Journalists who met Bin Laden before 9/11 later proclaimed their disbelief about the fact that he didn’t appear on video after December 2001 to brag about the fact that he had not been captured. Since that time, every single Bin Laden video tape released has contained vague non-specific messages and in many cases the footage is old and re-hashed. The “new” Bin Laden tape released in July 2007 was being aired for the third time, having been shot in October 2001 then broadcast in May 2002 before being aired again in October 2003.
“With an ego the size of Mount Everest, Osama bin Laden would not have, could not have, remained silent for so long if he were still alive. He always liked to take credit even for things he had nothing to do with. Would he remain silent for nine months and not trumpet his own survival?” wrote the New York Times’ Amir Taheri in July 2002.
A very good reason for Osama remaining silent after the end of 2001 would be the fact that he probably died on December 26 of that year, according to a report in the Pakistani Observer, which cited a Taliban official as stating that Bin Laden died due to an untreated lung complication and that he had attended his funeral.
In addition, a leaked French secret service memo last year concluded that Bin Laden had died of typhoid poisoning in August 2006. The memo cited Saudi Arabian secret service sources who were convinced that Bin Laden had died in Pakistan.
“The information gathered by the Saudis indicates that the head of al-Qaeda fell victim, while he was in Pakistan on August 23, 2006, to a very serious case of typhoid that led to a partial paralysis of his internal organs,” states the French memo.
The announcement that Bin Laden has been killed would be very easy to make if the Al-Qaeda leader has already been dead for years, and it’s a card that McCain could play as a last resort if polls indicate he has no chance of beating Barack Obama come November 4th.

No way could they “capture bin laden” (assuming he is still alive) without finding it necessary to accidentally allow him to kill himself in custody (the famous “syndrome”), like Milosovich. He (if he is still alive) knows too much, and it’s too late now to send him to Bagram or Gitmo like Khaled Sheikh Muhammed and spend months coaching him what to say and what not to say via the waterboard.

Usama bin Laden has died a peaceful death due to an untreated lung complication, the Pakistan Observer reported, citing a Taliban leader who allegedly attended the funeral of the Al Qaeda leader.
“The Coalition troops are engaged in a mad search operation but they would never be able to fulfill their cherished goal of getting Usama alive or dead,” the source said.
Bin Laden, according to the source, was suffering from a serious lung complication and succumbed to the disease in mid-December, in the vicinity of the Tora Bora mountains. The source claimed that bin Laden was laid to rest honorably in his last abode and his grave was made as per his Wahabi belief.
About 30 close associates of bin Laden in Al Qaeda, including his most trusted and personal bodyguards, his family members and some “Taliban friends,” attended the funeral rites. A volley of bullets was also fired to pay final tribute to the “great leader.”
The Taliban source who claims to have seen bin Laden’s face before burial said “he looked pale … but calm, relaxed and confident.”
Asked whether bin Laden had any feelings of remorse before death, the source vehemently said “no.” Instead, he said, bin Laden was proud that he succeeded in his mission of igniting awareness amongst Muslims about hegemonistic designs and conspiracies of “pagans” against Islam. Bin Laden, he said, held the view that the sacrifice of a few hundred people in Afghanistan was nothing, as those who laid their lives in creating an atmosphere of resistance will be adequately rewarded by Almighty Allah.
When asked where bin Laden was buried, the source said, “I am sure that like other places in Tora Bora, that particular place too must have vanished.”

Renal dialysis — talking about hemodialysis — is something that really is reserved for patients in end-stage renal failure. That means their kidneys have just completely shut down. The most common cause of something like that would be something like diabetes and hypertension. Once that’s happened, if you’re separated from your dialysis machine — and incidentally, dialysis machines require electricity, they’re going to require clean water, they’re going to require a sterile setting — infection is a huge risk with that. If you don’t have all those things and a functioning dialysis machine, it’s unlikely that you’d survive beyond several days or a week at the most. [CNN]

He was in lock up with a guy who had stabbed his girlfriend and tried to burn her house down= $25,000 was his set bail. A woman was in there for killing her three month old baby=$75,000 was her set bail. There are child molesters and sex offenders walking the streets because there is no room in prison for them. Oh but there mentally ill and can be reformed by psychologists and therapy. But have a little 100% USA homegrown and your a felon and a danger to society. Total bedlam.

Miss Buttho also had something to say about this, namely that OBL had been murdered, and then she named the guy, the BBC interview is floating around Youtube and Google video and probably other places. And then she was assassinated and no American news desk in the entire country mentioned the interview.
If they announce that he died five years ago of something that we didn’t do to him, and that nobody bothered to tell the cable news channels so that everyone in the country could throw a big party…. that won’t help the Republicrats at all. 4. This final one is the real biggie… THERE IS NO DRAFT. In a nutshell that’s why there hasn’t been the gigantic backlash against this war that happened in Vietnam. With every American serviceman a volunteer, there death can be spun in heroic terms far, far easier than if they were conscripted, because ultimately that serviceman “knew what they were signing up for.” It’s like after a tornado or a hurricane everyone wonders why people don’t just move to someplace where tornadoes and hurricanes aren’t a big problem.
With all of that in mind, I think that will announce that OBL has just been *comfirmed* dead, and that it was from complications of something that we did after 9/11. They may even go the Butto route and try to say that *our* guy murdered him and that our intelligence services have just now confirmed this.
There are some of you that have hope of waking up the multitudes of the American public….. you won’t. Until it’s broadcast on Faux News or CNN they won’t believe you. They will popular mechanics, not some student filmmaker that stumbled onto the largest false flag op in American history.
My own Father is awake thanks to this website and the people that run it, and he still doesn’t care about Iraq – he knows that the whole thing was a lie, including that 9/11 was an inside job just like Oklahoma City, and he still defends the surge instead of demanding an immediate end to American occupation. He wants the Mexicans rounded up and shot because they are “out-breeding white people” and “taking our jobs.” He’s a decorated Vietnam combat vet that later went on to work in a nuclear weapons research lab, and so he knows exactly how corrupt and evil DoD/DoE is. So much news breaking, you have no choice but to comment on it. The October surprise will be Osama Bin Laden a/k/a Tim Osman. This presumes he is alive and has not experienced massive renal failure. So assume he is somewhere in Riyadh, in a palace with his family and wives and will be flown to the US on First Class on Saudi Arabian Airlines. OK. Just a small problem with this errrr scenario. At no time has Osama Bin Laden been on any wanted list of the FBI for the 9/11 attacks. So pardon me, but I have a disconnect with the “truth” according to Woodward. When Mr. Woodward was referring to secret weapons I don’t think he was referring to weapons in the traditional sense, let’s think outside of the box. The only thing that I can think of that would constitute an effort the size of the Manhattan Project would be their effort to portray Bin Laden and his cohorts to the world for all these years. And how fine would it be to deliver the terrorists heads on a silver platter just prior to the election ensuring a political victory for someone. Furthermore their efforts and the resources of this nation could then be redirected toward the Russians and other non-compliant nations. Brilliant!

So as I read through everything and try to sort out the ridiculous crap that gets printed from the possibly legitimate news stories, I like to think not just of that news story but also of other happenings or trends. While I may or may not be thinking way outside the box with this one, here it goes.
I was thinking that since OBL is dead (suspected by many due to ridiculous attempts at videos and confirmed by the late Ms Bhutto) perhaps they will take the body of OBL, hit it with the black op energy weapon (which coincidentally seems like the type of thing that would be reverse engineered from say, an extraterrestrial spaceship) and finally announce that yes, there are extraterrestrials (more and more people are stepping up and saying that they have seen UFOs, some in the government) and yes they are friendly, but only if Bush is dictator.

this morning at 10 am, there was a story on aljazeeras website, reporting that russia was sending it largest battleship, and 2 nuclear subs to the coast of venezuela.
chaves was reported as saying this was good to see and russia is welcom to use its shores and land for any operations, and its fighter planes could use the countries airstrips.
about 3 hours later the story was removed and i dont seem to be able to find it now ????

According to the Bible, a horrible famine took place in Samaria where in desperation, the people ate whatever they could. The cannibalistic eating of a son may provide sufficient nutrition for a mother but disregards the puissant nature of humans to protect their young. Although the Bible does not explain if the son had already died or if the parent deliberately killed him for food, this dreadful example goes against human nature.
Long before bibles or written language, humans evolved as social animals that required the protection of their offspring. Only the dogmatic insistence of a belief-system could supersede the natural instincts of humans. Hopefully readers of the Bible who might one day experience a famine will not subvert their natural instinct for this kind of horrific example in Scripture. May I suggest that if you cannot control your belief to eat your children, sacrifice your priest and eat him instead; that way you gain far more protein for you and your children, and when you say grace, you’ll have someone to really thank for your food.

you are speaking of the Old Testament, which relies on the laws of Moses (aka the old covenant). Read the New Testament. Even Paul (in his letters) admits that the old covenant leads to death, but the new covenant leads to life. The new covenant is based on the holy spirit, which means that each individual relies on his/her conscious to decipher right vs. wrong. The laws of Moses require individuals to follow just that, laws. There is a big difference. People mix them up all too frequently, including a majority of the “Christian Church”.

Why should we care about the environment, wars, or suffering if we believe that the world will come to an end soon and that everything will get taken care of in heaven?

I’m really not a fan of what is on this site, for the most part. I think it’s alarmist and without substantive facts.
That being said, though, this seems almost reasonable. Bush has given the ‘go-ahead’ in the past month for U.S. special forces to enter Pakistan. We’ve seen, in the past week, a large number of attacks in Waziristan, in the Northwest Frontier Provinces. There are rumors, in the mass media, blogosphere and from Woodward that drones and ID systems are highly capable — perhaps moreso than we suspected.
Do not be surprised if, in the next month or so, bin Laden is definitively killed.
