Sheriff Outraged after Being Forced to Disarm before Entering Hockey Arena

In one Washington state arena, a sheriff effectively had to toss his gun in the penalty box.

Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich said he was outraged Saturday night when he was prevented from entering the Spokane Arena to promote a charity hockey game, because he was carrying his gun — even though he was on duty.

“This is bureaucracy and bureaucrats run wild. I’ve never seen anything quite like this,” he told Fox 28. “It makes zero sense.”

Knezovich said he was told by security that he would have to take off the gun and leave it outside due to an arena policy. The arena’s website lists “weapons” as one of the prohibited items inside the facility.

Sheriff Compares Constitutionalists to ISIS

Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich linked “rhetoric” from supporters of the U.S. Constitution to violent anti-government groups and ISIS this week in an exposé on the officer’s fight against “homegrown extremists.”

In an article featured in the August 2015 edition of the Inlander, the Washington state sheriff draws comparisons to the ISIS terrorist group while railing against everyone from Infowars’ Alex Jones to Washington State Rep. Matthew Shea.

“There are some of those folks that want to overthrow the government, period. They want to hit a reset button,” Knezovich said. “If they’re willing to lie to get that reset button — this is how ISIS starts.”

The Inlander piece highlights the sheriff’s ongoing campaign against local conservative groups who he feels are pushing dangerous rhetoric. When asked to specifically name those responsible, Knezovich pointed to both Rep. Shea and “all those folks that created the video about the Deputy.”

Knezovich’s statement refers to exclusive footage released by Infowars last December which highlighted unsettling comments made by a Spokane sheriff’s deputy as he stood next to the department’s mine-resistant ambush protected military vehicle (MRAP). After a local resident approached and questioned law enforcement’s need for military hardware, the deputy immediately used “constitutionalists” with “firearms” as justification.

“I mean, we’ve got a lot of constitutionalists and a lot of people that stockpile weapons, lots of ammunition,” the deputy said. “They have weapons here locally.”

The video brought about an immediate backlash after receiving nationwide attention, causing Knezovich to accuse Infowars of “hatemongering” and taking the deputy’s comments out of context.

“Instead of apologizing for the comments made by his deputy, Sheriff Knezovich essentially blamed Infowars for daring to report on the issue, claiming that the quote was taken out of context while failing to explain how such a brazen statement could be taken for anything other than its face value,” noted Infowars’ Paul Joseph Watson at the time.

Speaking with Infowars, Rep. Shea expressed outrage at Knezovich’s latest comments and also the article’s analysis on a local pastor.

“I fought Islamic terrorists on the ground in Iraq face-to-face,” Shea said. “I lost a man – who was a Christian and who would have fit the Sheriff’s definition of a constitutionalist – under my command fighting Islamic terrorists.”

“It is outrageous to compare constitutionalists and Christians to ISIS! We believe in freedom. We believe in liberty. A value set that is rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition. ISIS is anathema to those things. I call on every Christian and constitutionalist in this country to demand an apology from this Sheriff for his outrageous comments and demand his immediate resignation.”

Knezovich also went as far as to blame Infowars’ Alex Jones for a group of men who were arrested earlier this month for an alleged “murderous Jade Helm 15 retaliation plot.”

“This right here is all because of a bunch of words from Alex Jones,” Knezovich said. “Alex Jones started the Jade Helm fire. Words become reality.”

The sheriff pointed to the Bundy Ranch as well, accusing supporters of looking for a “trigger” to take on the government.

“There are people out there looking for that trigger,” he said. “They were praying that trigger would be at Bundy Ranch.”

A vocal supporter of the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that similarly and falsely links law-abiding Americans to domestic extremism, Knezovich states that such groups are breeding a generation of Americans who distrust their government.

“You will not have a next generation to defend this country,” the sheriff said. “You will have all taught them to hate and distrust this nation.”

“Alex Jones makes a ton of money selling fear. Matt Shea is an elected official who gets elected selling fear.”

Full Video Proves Cops Targeting Constitutionalists, Despite Sheriff’s Claim

Upon request, Infowars has released the full video conversation between a woman and a Spokane sheriff’s deputy who outrageously stated that armored military vehicles were needed for “constitutionalists” with firearms.

“I mean, we’ve got a lot of constitutionalists and a lot of people that stockpile weapons, lots of ammunition,” the deputy said in response to questions on the need for armored vehicles. “They have weapons here locally.”

The Spokane deputy came under intense scrutiny after the exclusive Infowars report prompted an immediate backlash from tens of thousands of concerned Americans.

Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich responded with an eight minute video the following Monday in which Infowars was essentially blamed for highlighting the deputy’s disturbing comments.

Knezovich asserted that the deputy’s comments were “taken out of context,” despite the video clearly showing the deputy answering a question on the domestic need for armored vehicles.

Knezovich’s claim seemingly suggests that the deputy’s comments could have been appropriate if the clip had been longer, despite offering no such example in which that would be the case.

The issue was further averted by Knezovich when he argued that the Infowars article was nothing more than “hatemongering,” a statement which conveniently ignores Infowars countless articles, reports and videos highlighting and praising positive law enforcement encounters across the country.

By releasing the full video, Infowars has not only proven the deputy’s comments to be in context, but also eviscerated Knezovich’s claim that the full clip would absolve his deputy.

Additionally, Knezovich attempted to blame Infowars for an alleged threat against his deputy in a third-party comment board. Knezovich made no attempt to contact Infowars to have the alleged comment removed but instead kept the information quiet in order to later trumpet the claim to local media.

Speaking with the Spokesman-Review, Knezovich went on to state that he was “reluctant to take the video from InfoWars seriously because of the conspiracy theories posted on the site,” a bizarre remark that once again attempts to blame the messenger while ignoring the message.

Although several deputies in the clip state that things have gotten “crazy,” gun homicide has actually dropped nearly 50 percent since 1993 with all other violent crime seeing a similar drop during the same time period. Thankfully, police officer deaths also hit a six-decade low last year according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

According to Washington State Representative Matthew Shea, deputies within Knezovich’s department became outraged last year after being forced to receive training from the Southern Poverty Law Center, a group which has long labeled Constitution-supporting Americans as extremist.

“What’s very startling about this particular Sheriff is he had the Southern Poverty Law Center in here training his deputies a few years ago and a lot of the rank and file deputies actually expressed their concerns with the training and their concerns with the direction the Sheriff was taking the department,” Shea said.

Infowars has long highlighted the endless stream of federally-produced training manuals that attempt to divide law enforcement and the public by labeling those with “Dont Tread on Me” flags, Ron Paul bumper stickers and pocket Constitutions as dangerous enemies of the state.

Spokane Valley residents have since planned a protest outside the sheriff’s office this Saturday to demand that the armored vehicle be returned to the military and that the department change its training.

State Rep Slams Sheriff For Defending Controversial MRAP Comments

Washington State Rep. Matt Shea slammed Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich for refusing to apologize for comments made by a Sheriff’s deputy in which the officer stated that MRAP armored vehicles were necessary to deal with “constitutionalists” who could pose a violent threat.

As Infowars exclusively reported last week, during a charity event a Spokane resident asked an officer why cops need armored vehicles that were originally used to fight insurgents abroad.

“I mean, we’ve got a lot of constitutionalists and a lot of people that stockpile weapons, lots of ammunition,” one deputy responded. “They have weapons here locally.”

The comments set off a firestorm of criticism from people concerned that local police see constitutionalists and libertarians as a violent threat, but Sheriff Knezovich responded not by apologizing for his deputy’s remarks but by blaming Infowars for reporting the story “out of context”.

However, Rep. Matt Shea said Knezovich made a big mistake by refusing to apologize and said his claim that the quote was “out of context” was merely a way of deflecting blame.

“It’s unbelievable that someone would say that on camera,” said Rep. Shea, adding that the quote was clearly in context, despite the efforts of Sheriff Knezovich to claim otherwise.

“I don’t even know a context or a situation where such a statement would ever be justified,” said Shea, adding that “a lot of people are up in arms right now” about what kind of policy would lead the deputy to be comfortable in making such statements.

Shea went on to assert that Knezovich had a “long pattern of behavior of bullying and intimidation” and that this was illustrated by his 9 minute video rant.

“What’s very startling about this particular Sheriff is he had the Southern Poverty Law Center in here training his deputies a few years ago and a lot of the rank and file deputies actually expressed their concerns with the training and their concerns with the direction the Sheriff was taking the department,” said Shea, who is calling on Knezovich to “apologize to the citizens, do some remedial constitutional rights classes” and establish a citizen review board to oversee the deployment of the MRAP armored vehicle or simply send it back.

Shea also related a chilling statement that Knezovich made on October 20 at the Central Valley High School government club debate in which he said, “I with the strike of a pen can affect your freedom, I can also take your life in certain circumstances,” a quote that Shea said reflected an “alarming attitude”.

The protest set to take place outside the Spokane Valley Police Department this Saturday illustrated the “broad rejection and repudiation of how the Sheriff is handling this entire situation,” said Shea.

Speaking to the broader issue of constitutionalists and libertarians being demonized by the federal government and police departments as a violent threat, Shea said the purpose was to use fear to make people self-censor and restrict their own political activities.

Spokane Police Department Faces Protest Over Sheriff Deputy’s Shocking Comments

The Spokane Valley Police Department is facing protests over a viral video in which a Sheriff’s Deputy defended the use of an MRAP armored vehicle by saying it was needed to deal with the threat posed by “constitutionalists”.

The video, exclusively obtained by Infowars.com, prompted thousands of comments and a 9 minute video response from Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich in which he claimed that the video was being taken out of context.

The footage shows a Spokane Valley resident asking why police need vehicles that are designed for fighting foreign enemies abroad.

“I mean, we’ve got a lot of constitutionalists and a lot of people that stockpile weapons, lots of ammunition,” one deputy says. “They have weapons here locally.”

Spokane Valley Republican Representative Matthew Shea responded to the video by asking, “Will law abiding citizens who love the Constitution and Rule of Law be hunted down with MRAPs?”

“Constitutionalism is fundamental to being an American. To hate the Constitution and those who support it means you are a traitor to this country,” added Shea.

Sheriff Knezovich shot back by claiming the Infowars report was “hatemongering,” “misleading,” and that it was “used to scare citizens and distort the truth.”

Instead of apologizing for the comments made by his deputy, Sheriff Knezovich essentially blamed Infowars for daring to report on the issue, claiming that the quote was taken out of context while failing to explain how such a brazen statement could be taken for anything other than its face value.

One YouTube respondent summed this up in stating, “Simple way to avoid making any future videos like this one. Don’t say that you have MRAPs to defend yourselves against constitutionalists.”

Knezovich also cited the deputy swearing an oath of honor and serving in the military for 20 years as a reason to excuse his comments, when those factors only make the remarks even more chilling. Knezovich’s other remarks about his office defending gun rights are welcome but have nothing to do with the comments made by the deputy in the video.

Knezovich also told the Spokesman-Review that he was “reluctant to take the video from InfoWars seriously because of the conspiracy theories posted on the site,” a strange comment given that the video footage speaks for itself and the tone of its content is not dependent on any other material posted on Infowars.

Knezovich’s claim that the “biggest problem in America today” is tragic but isolated examples of cops being murdered by self-proclaimed constitutionalists does not fit with the reality that Americans are nine times more likely to be killed by police officers than terrorists and that 5,000 Americans have been killed by police officers since 9/11.

Scott Maclay, president of the Rattlesnakes Motorcycle Club, responded to the video by organizing a protest which is set to take place this Saturday outside the Spokane Valley Police Department on East Sprague Avenue. Rep. Matt Shea is also expected to attend the event.

“Protesters will barbecue food in the parking lot, openly carry firearms and erect a Christmas tree to leave letters of complaint directed at the Sheriff’s Office in its branches,” reports the Spokesman-Review.

Maclay is demanding that the Sheriff’s office return the MRAP vehicle to the federal government, along with other equipment including modified assault rifles, but Knezovich asserts that none of the equipment will be sent back, primarily because it was “free” to obtain.

Maclay dismissed Knezovich’s claim that the length of the video clip was too short to understand the full context, commenting, “He made a comment as a law enforcement official at a public event. It sticks. It doesn’t matter how long it is.”

Cop Tells College Grad ‘You’re Lucky I Didn’t F-ing Shoot You’ After Raiding Wrong House

Man held at gunpoint in handcuffs on his own front lawn

Adan Salazar
Infowars.com
December 23, 2013

Connor Guerrero didn’t exactly get an apology after police erroneously raided his home last week and handcuffed him on his front lawn.

Instead, Guerrero says a Spokane County Sheriff’s deputy told him he should be grateful he wasn’t killed.

Guerrero, a recent college graduate, says he was enjoying a nice Wednesday evening at home when he heard someone outside.

“Just trying to enjoy my evening. All the sudden, I see a flashlight shining through my doors…,” Guerrero said. “I’m thinking this could be a dangerous situation for me.”

Assuming he was the target of a robbery, Guerrero went to his door to ward off the potential thieves. That’s when things got out of control.

“I come over to my door and I slap it to say hey someone is in this house and they’re not going to let you come in here… Right as soon as I opened this door, and it’s dark outside – it’s very dark and all I can see is a pistol,” Guerrero recalled.

Guerrero heard a man yell, “Sheriff’s Office” and complied with an order to step outside of his home.

Police held him at gunpoint, handcuffed him and accused him of breaking into his house.

“They directed me to take a knee, well both knees,” he said. “The gun [was] still drawn.”

When police finally looked at Guerrero’s ID, they realized they had the wrong house, but deputies weren’t about to admit their mistake.

Instead, Guerrero says an officer told him, “You’re lucky I didn’t [expletive] shoot you.”

Police were in the area investigating reports of a suspicious vehicle but “went to the wrong house,” according to KREM.

“We went to the wrong house yes…" Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich admits.
“We went to the wrong house yes…” Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich admits.

One Sheriff explained the error, saying Guerrero was partially to blame. “You don’t pound on a door, open it and slam it that way. Put yourself in the deputies’ position,” Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich stated.

Sheriff Knezovich says the department has already offered an apology, but Guerrero would like it to personally come from the two deputies involved in the raid.

It’s simply incredible that, despite the expansive surveillance network and advanced law enforcement technologies, raids on incorrect houses are still commonplace, but it’s even more incredible when police terrorize the public and refuse to own up to their mistakes.

As Texas and other states clear a path for search warrants to be obtained on “predictions of future crimes,” the potential for error will increase accordingly, and erroneous raids such as the one just described will occur with increased frequency.

Upon arriving in Spokane, Washington, Infowars reporters discovered that Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich had reportedly left for vacation just as the community began preparing for Saturday’s protest.

As revealed by Washington State Representative Matthew Shea, this same Sheriff recently stated during a speech that he has the power to affect your freedom and take your life.

To make matters worse, countless departments across the country have begun adopting similar viewpoints, training and militarized equipment in order to prepare for alleged violence from law-abiding Constitutionalists, despite the notion being nothing more than a federal talking point.

Black Hawk Chopper Buzzes Spokane Day Before Police State Protest

A Black Hawk military helicopter buzzed downtown Spokane, Washington just a day before protesters are set to gather outside the Spokane Valley Police Department to protest the militarization of domestic law enforcement.

According to Infowars reporter Joe Biggs, the chopper flew at low altitude for around 10 to 15 minutes, weaving inbetween buildings.

The sudden appearance of the helicopter in an urban area just 24 hours before the demonstration against the militarization of Spokane Police may just be a coincidence, but it will do little to reduce tensions between residents and the Sheriff’s Department.

The protest is in response to a shocking video which went viral earlier this month which featured a Spokane Sheriff’s Deputy defending the use of an MRAP armored vehicle by saying it was needed to deal with the threat posed by “constitutionalists”.

Wash. State Deputy’s ‘Constitutionalists’ Comments Point to Rising Tensions

Last week Infowars reported on shocking footage of a Washington State sheriff deputy stating that armored military vehicles are needed to battle “constitutionalists” who are stockpiling weapons.

Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich is backing the deputy who made the comments. He said that his deputy may have used “broad brush strokes” in referring to constitutionalists as potential enemies. However, government documents from multiple agenices leaked over several years are very deliberate in the use of the word “constitutionalist” along side phrases like “domestic terrorist.”

Is Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich aware of the system-wide training of military and police to take on gun owners and Ron Paul supporters?

A 2012 document from the Department of Homeland Security called Hot Spots of Terrorism and Other Crimes in the United States, 1970-2008 stated that Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty” could be terrorists.

A 2001 pamphlet from the Phoenix FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force said that “defenders of the Constitution” could be terrorists.

The mainstream media is not showing the wider picture that the buildup of military equipment across the country is occurring amidst a background of military and police training for martial law. Manuals from multiple government agencies target constitutionalists, Ron Paul supporters, Christians, and even individuals who want to “make the world a better place.”

A Department of Defense training manual leaked last year revealed that servicemen and women were told that the founding fathers would not be welcome in today’s military. The document demonizes “extremists” who “…will talk of individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place.”

In 2009 a document leaked from the Missouri Information Analysis Center painted libertarians and Ron Paul supporters as terrorists.

An entire fake town has been built in Virginia, complete with Christian churches and subways, for the military to train for urban occupation.

As military equipment is finding its way to local police departments across America, sheriffs are standing up for the Constitution and citizens are refusing to accept intimidating war machines on their streets.

Citizens, Sheriffs stand up

Not everyone is as excited as the Spokane Police Department to receive surplus military equipment. As reported early this year in the Wall Street Journal, some municipalities are saying no.

Republican state Rep. J.R. Hoell sponsored a Bill introduced in the New Hampshire legislature to ban municipalities from accepting military vehicles without voter approval. Hoell says that “This seems over the top and unnecessary to have this level of armament.”

Last year former Marine Colonel Peter Martino told Concord City Council in New Hampshire that “What’s happening here is we’re building a domestic military.” His comments were in response to a proposal to purchase a BearCat armored vehicle.

In another example of individuals standing against tyranny; A Judge in Pennsylvania agreed with Perry county sheriff Carl Nace in his stand against auditors who tried to force him to reveal the names of concealed carry permit owners. Huntington County Judge George N. Zanic said that “The [lawsuit] seems to be nothing more than a fishing expedition for information unrelated to the [auditors’] statutory duty to audit.”

The buildup of armaments across the nation is occurring during a time of increasing tensions on multiple fronts. It is not an isolated incident, but rather a system-wide campaign to prepare for widespread violence. Flashpoints of economic collapse, deliberately provoked racial tension and abuse of executive power are calumniating to produce an explosive situation that many analysts believe could lead to another civil war in America.

Violence in Ferguson, Missouri has framed the debate over militarized police around race, but deeper issues of centralized power and tyranny enforced with the use of military equipment is a far greater concern to constitutionally minded citizens.

Police: Armored Military Vehicles Needed for ‘Constitutionalists’ with Firearms

Shocking video provided exclusively to Infowars shows a Washington state sheriff’s deputy proclaiming that law enforcement officers need armored military vehicles because of “constitutionalists” with firearms.

The footage, recently captured in Spokane Valley, begins with a local resident asking two deputies why police would need vehicles specifically designed for warfare abroad.

“I mean, we’ve got a lot of constitutionalists and a lot of people that stockpile weapons, lots of ammunition,” one deputy says. “They have weapons here locally.”

The startling admission not only points to active surveillance of legal gun owners, but of those who support the country’s founding document, further solidifying concerns among law-abiding citizens that police are receiving military equipment and training in order to target conservative Americans.

The deputy’s specific mention of “constitutionalists,” a broad term covering millions of Americans, as opposed to criminals in general, also indicates a clear training mindset linked to the FBI and Homeland Security, two groups which have absurdly labeled “liberty-lovers” as terror threats.

Such clear talking points are unsurprising given reports that Spokane County sheriffs have received training from the Southern Poverty Law Center, a group that ludicrously compares mainline conservative Americans to racist hate groups.

Infowars was unable to reach the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office for comment at the time of publishing, but did speak with Spokane Valley Republican Representative Matthew Shea, who was appalled when presented with the footage.

“Will law abiding citizens who love the Constitution and Rule of Law be hunted down with MRAPs?” Shea asked. “Constitutionalism is fundamental to being an American. To hate the Constitution and those who support it means you are a traitor to this country.”

“This is spitting in the face of all those heroes that fought, bled, and died so we might live free. The question should be, why aren’t you a Constitutionalist? Why don’t you believe in the rule of law? Why don’t you believe that the Constitution means what it says?”

Incredibly, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is not the first to cite patriotic Americans as reasoning for military hardware.

A police sergeant in Morgan County, Indiana admitted just last May that his department had obtained an armored vehicle in part because of returning military veterans, deemed domestic terror threats by Homeland Security in 2009.

In August of 2013, Concord, New Hampshire Police Chief John Duval secretly contacted Homeland Security and demanded an armored vehicle due to the alleged “threat” posed by peaceful libertarians.

A New York State Counter Terrorism Bulletin leaked to Infowars by concerned police that same year attempted to label anyone concerned with government gun confiscation as “far right” conspiracy theorists, even as admitted gun confiscation programs are used against law abiding citizens in states such as California.

The MIAC Report, a federal training document famously presented to Missouri police in 2009, went as far as falsely tying supporters of former Presidential Candidate Ron Paul and the Constitution to “extremist groups” as well.

Despite a massive drop in police officer deaths, gun homicide and violent crime in the last 2o years, government agencies across the board continue to adopt military tactics in order to fight anything that represents traditional America.

Luckily for Americans, peace officers who still respect their oath continue to serve throughout the United States.

UPDATE: Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich has responded by falsely claiming that the video is out of “context.” Despite the deputy clearly pointing to “constitutionalists” as reason for needing armored military vehicles, the sheriff’s office has chosen to ignore the issue at hand.
