José Manuel Martínez made a trip last March from California to Alabama to visit relatives.
What was supposed to be a nice family vacation ended when Martínez put two bullets in the head of acquaintance who allegedly insulted his daughter. While an Alabama prosecutor has said Martínez, committed the brazen murder because of “of family honor,” it has come to light that this is not the first time he has killed.
Authorities say that Martínez – who is now charged with carrying out nine contract killings in Central California – has confessed that he actually killed somewhere between 30 to 40 people over several decades as hitman for one of Mexico’s drug cartels.
