One of everyone’s biggest Christmas package fears came true for one Pulaski County man when an explosive device was dropped off at his home.

According to the Little Rock Police Department, Bounthavy Khampraseut, 69, said his wife found a Christmas present on the driveway of his Hensley residence on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. Khampraseut told police he took the gift inside and plugged it in, which caused the fuse in the house to blown out.

Hoping his co-workers at Hiland Dairy Plant off Interstate 30 in Little Rock could help fix it, Khampraseut took the device to work.

“It appears to be–it is an improvised explosive device, just looking at it,” said Captain Jason Weaver with the Little Rock Fire Department Bomb Squad.
