In seeming preparation for Islamic militants who are reportedly operating near the U.S. border in Juarez, Mexico, the Border Patrol announced it is buying body armor capable of stopping AK-47 rounds commonly used by terrorists.
The notice posted today by Customs and Border Protection states the agency is seeking a contractor who can provide 280 sets of Level III ballistic plates, which can stop 7.62x39mm rounds from AK-47s and various other rifle rounds.
These plates aren’t cheap and the timing of this large purchase comes right after a bulletin was released to federal law enforcement warning of an “imminent terrorist attack” on the wide-open U.S. border.
“Specifically, the government sources reveal that the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) is confirmed to now be operating in Juarez, a famously crime-infested narcotics hotbed situated across from El Paso, Texas,” wrote Judicial Watch. “Violent crimes are so rampant in Juarez that the U.S. State Department has issued a number of travel warnings for anyone planning to go there.”
Intelligence officials also told Judicial Watch they had “picked up radio talk and chatter indicating that the terrorist groups are going to carry out an attack on the border.”
Unfortunately, ISIS would have absolutely no problem crossing the border into America after the Obama administration allowed thousands of illegal aliens to enter the U.S. this year alone, overwhelming Border Patrol agents who were already restrained in their duties after the White House ordered them to stand down back in October.
“It doesn’t matter whether it’s drugs, bodies, or how large the group is, our agents are being ordered to stand down by Border Patrol management,” Shawn Moran, Vice President of the National Border Patrol Council, told Breitbart News. “I have received reports from our agents in every single sector from San Diego to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas that they are receiving these orders.”
Because of that, ISIS may have already entered the U.S. through Mexico, and one unconfirmed report said the Department of Homeland Security was monitoring a “person of interest” at an apartment complex in El Paso.
The border is so insecure, practically anyone can cross it without ever being noticed by federal agents.
“Our border is porous, and the administration, rather than acting to protect it, instead ponders unconstitutional executive action, legalizing millions of illegal immigrants,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) wrote yesterday, adding that our government needs to secure the borders and immigration policy from ISIS infiltration.
Reporter Joe Biggs placed further emphasis on Paul’s statement when he waded across the Rio Grande dressed as an Al-Qaeda militant with a severed head.
