The US’ Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has temporarily suspended BP from new US government contracts.

The temporarily ban stemmed from its conduct regarding the Deepwater Horizon blowout which killed 11 workers in April 2010, EPA said.

It comes after the British oil giant agreed to plead guilty to eleven counts of misconduct or neglect, one count of obstruction of Congress, and two misdemeanour counts over its part in the largest environmental disaster in US history.
