The Des Moines Register

The public should see law enforcement records from an investigation into the death of a man who was the subject of Taser jolts by Worth County deputies, Gov. Terry Branstad said Monday.
Last week, The Des Moines Register filed a lawsuit against the state Department of Public Safety in an effort to obtain access to the very records that Branstad now says should be made public.
“Once you have a settlement or a final disposition, I don’t see why that information shouldn’t be public,” Branstad said Monday.
