Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials reported Wednesday that as many as 12 lab technicians may have been exposed to the Ebola virus in Atlanta.

According to reports, a CDC scientist accidentally left two viles, one of which contained the live virus, in an area which transfers specimens to separate labs on Monday.

After arriving at the second Atlanta lab, the vile was processed and potentially handled by as many as a dozen other employees. CDC officials report that the technician has no symptoms of illness at the current time and will be monitored for the 21 days.
